Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 56 – Is That We Work Together To Move On.

Alicia's POV, Afghanistan Capital, Later that night.

"But I can't do it alone. After the Q&A I will step down from this stand and I will let you voice yourselves. We will be accepting back any old soldiers such as myself, such as Jackson here. And we will be accepting the new. The one's who will lead the way for their kids. The one's who will truly change the world. All you need to do is act. Join us. Join my Rebellion. Join our Rebellion, and help reclaim what was yours at birth. Join me in this Iraq. Help me retake our home!"

I watched it over and over. I couldn't believe he actually did it.

With a smile on my face, Midnight wondered.

"So what is daddy doing now mom?"

Looking to her, I replied.

"I honestly have no idea baby. Your father is clearly busy. But I think he has it handled."

"Will we see him soon?" She asked next as I picked her up and onto the bed.

"Not yet baby. There is still a lot more we have to do here with Mr. Mason."

"Okay." She replied as I heard from Ghost who was across the room laying down on his bed.

"I hope he never comes back."

"Stop it Ghost!" I ordered him as he went silent.

"Your father is out there doing all of this for you. He's out there risking his life for everyone. You need to learn what it means to be in his shoes." I urged him as he kept silent.

Midnight kept quiet herself as I looked back at the TV. Raptor stood there...confidence in his eyes. I never should have doubted him.

Wreak's POV, Iraq Capital.

Shutting the door after Archer and myself both entered, I asked.

"You okay Commander?"

Archer quickly approached his desk; as he replied.

"You two tell me. Is that kid some joke you set up?"

Immediately Archer replied in force.

"We had nothing to do with that Raptor. It was just as much of a shock for us as it was for you. We had no idea he was in that line till he reached the front."

"Then why accept him!?" Asked Raptor in force as Archer was ready to fire back.

"Because he...?!" Cutting him off I replied.

"Because he seemed serious about wanting to help! We need everything right now Commander. You didn't see it like we did though. Archer slammed him into a table. The kid didn't break. He held strong. No fear in his voice. Right Archer?" I asked as he nodded to my question.

"I'm not happy about letting that into our home Raptor. But I agree with Wreak, the kid was holding his own. And I'll fully admit I hate looking at him. I don't know if I'm the only one here that felt it, but something isn't right about him. He's too perfect. He looks like Shadow jr himself rose from the dead. He even sounds a lot like him." Stated Archer as I nodded.

"First things first Commander, we all know he's not Shadow or his son. The first thing we have to understand is that he's just an ironic variable. He's not our leader."

"He's not." Stated Archer as Raptor began to nod.

"I know that better then any of you. But I struggle every day getting him out of my head. Now I have a "clone" per say; in my army. Have any of you even seen him before?"

"No sir." I replied as Archer added.

"Nether have I."

"He says he's from around here sir." I stated as Raptor replied.

"I don't believe him for a second. I know faces. I've been around this city. I've never seen him. And I know for a fact if I knew someone like him existed I would have found him sooner."

"Same here." Agreed Archer as I questioned.

"He might just be a homebody up till now. A lot of people stay inside these days. It's dangerous out there."

"Bullshit." Stated Raptor in force as he looked to me directly to order.

"Don't defend him. For all we know he's a G.U.N spy. Linnen may have sent him knowing we were mass recruiting. It's too perfect."

"That's a long shot Commander." I stated as Archer looked to me to say.

"Raptor is right. It's a good idea right now to throw someone at us like this. It catches us with our pants down. And if Linnen knew he had someone who looked that close to Shadow; it's even more of a reason for him to send him after us. It demoralizes us like this right now. It's a tactic to throw us off the deep end. It's a great way to distract Raptor from his duties as well."

Nodding my head, I then wondered.

"So how about we watch him?"

"I'm already ahead of you." Stated Archer as he looked to Raptor who listened.

"If he's really a spy we can easily root him out one of three ways. The first is getting one on one with him. We keep you away though Raptor. We can't have you distracted. Wreak and I will each get some alone time with him. Take him somewhere. Chat him up. I can read anyone and call their bluff, you know that." Stated Archer as Raptor nodded back.

"The second way is a bit more complex. What did he tell you when you asked him what he knew about war Wreak?"

Looking to Archer I replied.

"He said he knew only the basics."

"Boom! We put him in a life threatening situation. If he's a spy, he's trained to kill and defend himself more then a normal soldier. And if he's Linnen's, then he's at the least had some special forces training. We can all spot what that means."

"And the third plan you got?" Wondered Raptor as he looked back to me to reply.

"We have Wreak send his newly formed squad out on their first mission. I have an idea where some G.U.N soldiers are holding out. They plan on trying to leave the city soon."

"Then why send them out?" I questioned as Raptor replied knowing the answer.

"We see if he'll kill his own comrades."

"Bingo." Said Archer as I nodded to myself to ask.

"We would be risking lives for a test Archer. Our own could die."

Nodding, Archer replied.

"This kid could be a threat to us Wreak. If we don't test him like this; he could stab us in the back and even try to kill Raptor at some point. We can't afford that."

"Why not have someone watch him at all times? Hunter will recover soon. We can trust her." I stated as Archer questioned.

"Then you risk her life."

"It's just an option. I can't make that call." I stated as Archer looked to Raptor to state.

"But you can Raptor. What's it going to be? Are you willing to take a risk like this?"

Raptor stared at the two of us in thought as we waited for his answer.

Vector's POV, Medical Bay.

Marx had tubes crossing between the beds. Black was now under the influence of some strong meds and was asleep. Leo...he was cut open. I watched from the side with Gabe as the cat came out every few minutes with another fragment of the bullet Linnen had gave him. I counted six so far, but Marx assures me their could be at least twenty; plus the main round itself. This was going to be a process and Black has already given a lot of his own blood to keep him alive. It would come down to the wire soon enough.

Marx's POV.

By now I'm use to being in bodies like this, but now I'm in one of my enemy. It's weird for sure. But these guys don't seem half bad. Now days it would be questionable to risk your life for another. But Black jumped right into like any leader should. I respect that.

Pulling out another fragment from his friend Leo's chest, I counted to myself.

"Seven."

I had to pick up the pace here. Black doesn't have enough blood in him for me to dawdle.

Going back inside, I quickly found another fragment to count.

"Eight."

Vector's POV, Thirty minutes later.

"Eighteen." I heard the cat say to himself as I watched in awe with Gabe at the speed of which he was going.

"How is he doc?" I asked feeling worried as I looked to Black who was barely breathing now.

"Nineteen." Mumbled Marx as I watched him head back inside to grab the last fragment.

"Twenty!" With a slight bit of relief to his voice, Gabe and I began to smile.

"Now for the bullet." He stated as I stood up to approach him from behind.

Looking over his shoulder, I held my breath as you could clearly see him reaching down to Leo's nearby heart.

Gabe didn't dare watch like me, but as I witnessed it all I soon heard Marx state.

"I got it. Now to gently pull...it...out...?"

The round was huge. Blood began to quickly fill the cavity as Marx rested it down next to the other fragments.

"That's it. I got them all. Now I need to...?"

My mind was in a state of happiness up till a loud beeping could be heard behind us.

Looking back immediately Marx stated.

"That's not good! I warned him this could happen!"

"What's wrong?!" I asked as Gabe stood up from his bed.

"His body is reacting to the lack of blood in his system. He's going into shock."

"Do something!" I ordered him as he quickly pulled out and stopped the transfusion.

Preparing a shot, he urged Black.

"Come on...don't give up yet."

Watching as he gave him something I asked.

"Can't you do anything else?!"

"If I shock him, it will kill him. There isn't much I can do but slow his heart rate and hope he levels off."

"Can't you give him some of my blood?! Won't that help?!" Asked Gabe as Marx looked back to Leo to reply.

"I need to seal him up now before anything. Just relax. His vitals are evening out. I can transfer some of yours next if you want, but he should be fine."

"And Leo?" I asked trying to calm down as he began to get back to work.

"I can't say for sure what will happen. I need to seal him back together and let him rest. I'll monitor him throughout the night. Right now it looks good."

Gabe and myself were both panicking. I had no idea how this cat did this kind of stuff daily. He had more guts then me for sure.

Looking back to Black who was now breathing easier, I ordered him as he slept.

"Stay with us boss."

Shadow's POV, Barracks.

All this waiting gave me time to think about stuff. I now have an idea what might be happening soon. Voltz will be looking into me. He's going to look into a way to sort me out as more then a simple soldier. I'm sure of it. I'm not blind to his tricks. For right now I just need to keep playing my part here with this team.

Sergeant Rockwell now had us a full squad. Most of which were nothing more impressive then TV dinner. They all looked eighteen, and all pretty much looked to be not too capable in a real combat. Maybe I'm thinking too much about it, but if I get put into the field with this I'm afraid it might just be me who survives.

"Verbeck!"

Opening my eyes after a long rest, I looked up at Rockwell who stood above me with his hand out. Taking it and being helped onto my feet, I asked.

"What's going on?"

Looking me in the eyes, he replied.

"I know it's late, but we have some training to do before bed. I got to get an idea of what everyone here is capable of."

"Alright." I replied as I looked around the barracks.

Keeping my body towards Rockwell, I caught a glimpse of someone on my far left. Slowly looking over I saw the Lieutenant. He was waiting for us for some reason.

Glaring at him, I asked myself.

"Is this it?"

Now it's time to vote everyone.

How should Raptor test the Faker Shadow?

Send his newly formed team on a combat mission?

Or

Assign Hunter to monitor him?

The choice is yours. Majority vote wins. Vote by reviewing to me. And I'm typing the next chapter later tonight so be sure to vote within the next few hours. Thanks again everyone. See you tomorrow.
