Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 60 – When I Was Young.

Raptor's POV, Ron's Bar.

The bar was packed. Must be a lot of celebrating still. Turning off the Humvee, I left with a rash bit of excitement and got out. Now however, I focused on my appearance. I just wanted to relax right now.

Taking off my vest, I placed it in the back seat to let out a grunt of pain. My injuries were still fresh and I knew I shouldn't be moving like this. Well if you ask Marx, I shouldn't be out in general right now. I could feel the stitches on my back. It was tight. But I knew if I moved just the right way they would break. Last thing I wanted before I got a drink.

Looking to my belt, I quickly took it off. Shadow's M1911 still rested in the holster as I shut the door with it now in the back along with my vest.

Letting out another quick grunt, I started to make my way for the door.

As I approached, Ron caught a glance at me through the glass door. I've never seen him smile that wide.

As I entered he shouted.

"Raptor! What brings you here!?"

Giving him a smile of my own, I replied.

"Just cause I moved doesn't mean I can drink anywhere now Ron! You know I love this place!"

Giving me a long laugh as he got out from behind the bar, he urged.

"That's why I love you! Here, I got a spot open! Against the wall over there!"

Nodding; I slowly made my way over. As I walked with Ron I heard from a group to my left.

"Isn't that the Commander of the Rebellion? The guy who gave that speech earlier?"

I ignored them as I took my seat more then a few tables away.

"What can I get you?!" Wondered Ron as I heard the door open once more. My eyes widened in surprise as Archer came walking in to see me. Ron let out another big laugh as he shouted.

"Archer too!? I really am good at my job to have you two here!"

Archer immediately chuckled as he was on his way over.

"Someone has to keep an eye on the Commander Ron. I mean I heard last time he was here he was almost dead."

Ron instantly began to laugh more as I got comfortable.

"You make a good point. How about I get you gentlemen some beers?"

"Sounds good Ron." Stated Archer in response as I added.

"Thanks Ron."

"Ah anything for you two. You know that."

With Ron leaving for the bar, I refocused on my friend who decided to spy on me. Taking his seat, I asked.

"Was it necessary?"

Nodding as he got comfortable, he replied.

"Maybe I'm just mad you didn't invite me out with you. You know half of what I've had to deal with today?"

Nodding, I said with a bit of a playful tone.

"Two words. Fuck you. Okay?"

Giving me a friendly laugh, Archer replied.

"Okay, okay. But seriously, your in danger out here on you're own. There is still plenty of people around who would love to get a chance at killing you right now."

"Relax." I urged him as he shook his head to add.

"I'm serious. You should have waited longer before coming out of the Capital. If you wanted a drink I'm sure I could have found you something there."

"I trust the people alright?" I replied as he nodded to state.

"Well I don't. It's a dangerous world now days. It's not like it was back during the first war. Things have changed."

As we went silent; Ron came to us with a set of four beers.

"Ice cold guys. Enjoy."

"Thanks again Ron." I replied as I cracked one open to look back at Archer.

As Archer got his own opened, I asked.

"How did they look today? I know it's the first day probably a lot of them have seen any sort of training, so I'm not expecting much. But tell me anyway."

After taking a sip, Archer replied.

"For the most part it was good. But half of them are not infantry. I want training to be daily for everyone, but when it comes to the muscle that will help rebuild the city after Wreak's division is done destroying it all; I want them to focus on what their good at."

"I agree." I replied as he nodded.

"We will have a fine Rebellion soon. Maybe better then we did back in the day." Stated Archer as I wondered.

"Any word from Char?"

Taking a sip, I listened as Archer said with a slightly lower tone.

"He had his men clean up the border from what he reported in. But I think he was set on finding that holdout of G.U.N I told you about earlier."

The second the words left his mouth, I picked up on a guy behind him listening in. His ear twitched the second he said G.U.N. I watched him with my right eye as Archer went on to say.

"We know their hiding somewhere in the northeast slums. I think Char was on his way there soon to deal with them."

"Tonight?" I wondered as I watched the man behind him go still.

Nodding Archer replied.

"Bought another hour. I said it would be better if less people were on the streets when it went down."

Keeping my eyes locked on the man, I noticed he was quickly finishing his drink. Archer however didn't notice anything.

"Do we know how many there are?"

Halfway done his drink, Archer replied.

"Scouts who saw them running said it was about nine. Last time I heard anything, they said one of the men broke off. That was about two hours ago. He's probably long gone anyway. One man could easily run."

"That's if he's smart enough to try and leave." I stated as I focused that statement on the man who was now once again completely still.

Archer grew confused by my sudden tone as I showed that my focus was clearly behind him.

Slowly I said to him.

"But he's not that dumb...right?"

Slowly Archer began to turn around, and as soon as he was about to rest eyes on the man; we both panicked as he turned to aim an M9 at us.

"BANG!"

As fast as I could, I ducked the round and rolled out of the seat and towards the back of the bar. Archer however had no other choice but to lay under the table as the shooter quickly made his way for the door.

With his back turned I went for my belt.

Widening my eyes as I remembered I left it in the car, I panicked and ducked once more as the man turned to fire off another round.

"BANG!"

Hitting a bottle of whiskey that rested in front of my head, I covered my eyes as it broke on impact with the bullet. Now covered in booze, I shouted.

"Get up Archer!"

Archer quickly got back on his feet as Ron asked.

"What the fuck!? How come every time you come into my bar Raptor shit goes down!?"

Tossing Ron a twenty I replied.

"I'm a popular guy I guess! Don't worry I'll have someone fix it for you! Here, for the bottle!"

Getting out from behind the bar, I ran for the door with Archer behind me.

"He's taking your truck Raptor!" Shouted Ron as I bashed through the door to see the man breaking the window to my Humvee.

"Stop him!" I ordered Archer as he pulled out his Tac 45 to open fire.

"BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Hitting the hood, I was forced to watch as the man drove off as fast as he could for the northeast side of town. In utter confusion, I wondered how he got it started so fast; to find out I must have left the keys in the ignition when I got here. Feeling like a complete dumbass, I screamed.

"Fuck!" Putting down his gun as the man was now gone, Archer looked to me to ask.

"You hit?!"

"I'm fine! But that fuck has my ride!"

"We'll get it back!" Stated Archer as he clearly didn't know why I was so mad all the sudden.

"That's not the problem! Shadow's gun is in the back! I'm not losing that Archer! No fucking way! Not after everything!"

Archer now understood and urged.

"We'll take my car! Come on!"

Following behind as we ran across the street. I got in the passenger side to order Archer.

"He's going to warn his friends! Get Char and his team moving now! We can still stop them!"

Getting us out onto the road, Archer went to his comm to say.

"Archer to Alpha 1-3. Come in." He ordered as Char soon could be heard on the other side.

"What's up Major?"

"Don't ask why or how, but we ran into that missing link from the holdout. He's heading to the slums now to warn his boys. Get your team there now. The Commander and I are already on our way."

"Yes sir! Come on guys! We're moving out!" Char stated as he hung up the comm.

"You got anything for this Raptor?" Wondered Archer as I shook my head to reply.

"I left it all in the backseat! FUCK! I'm so stupid!" I shouted as I slammed my hand into the door.

"Watch it! This is still my ride man! We'll get it back! Just try to relax!" He urged as I yelled back.

"Faster!"

Picking up the pace, Archer stepped on the gas. This fucker wasn't getting away. None of them would.

Hunter's POV, Raptor's Office.

Where did he go? I can't imagine him in bed this early.

Leaving his office, I took a look around. Finding one the night guards I asked.

"Where's the Commander?"

Lowering his gun he replied.

"He went out a little bit ago miss. I believe the Major is with him. I'm sure they'll be back soon."

Nodding as the guard made his way by, I tried to think of what to do now. I've been asleep for the past day, I can't force myself to go back to bed.

With my options thin, I decided it was best to maybe try and see if Marx was up. I still haven't thanked him yet.

Heading back down the stairs, I made a right and began to head to the medical bay. Most of the rooms were empty except one. On the door it had a sign that said "Busy."

Against my better judgment, I opened the door to peek inside.

Resting on a bed I saw a tall black hedgehog. He looked out of it. Next to him was Marx. Glancing back he said.

"Hunter?"

Grabbing the sign off the door, I wondered.

"Busy?"

Giving me a smile he replied.

"Yes actually. But come in."

"I wanted to thank you for saving me." I stated as he shook his head.

"Thank Char. If he didn't rush; you might not be up at all." He stated as I shut the door to look around the room.

My eyes looked around in confusion. Marx noticed as I stood there.

"Before you ask this wasn't my idea. It was Raptor's."

"What do you mean?" I asked as he glanced towards the far left bed.

Looking over, I saw one of the men was wearing a G.U.N uniform of some sort. His patch was the only thing I really understood.

"Their G.U.N?"

Nodding, Marx replied.

"And friends of our dear Commander somehow."

Now at whisper tone, I questioned.

"How?"

Marx shrugged his shoulders as I stated.

"He didn't tell me any of this."

"He probably wants it to remain a secret." Stated Marx as I looked at the Black hedgehog in front of him.

"Him and the two behind me were critically injured. But thanks to some luck and a lot of team effort, they'll live to see another day. The other two were minor. Their just resting now." Stated Marx as I still was lost in utter confusion.

"Are they Special Forces?" I wondered as Marx again didn't know the answer.

"I've never seen their uniforms. Has to be some form of splinter group. But I would be willing to bet their along those lines."

Nodding, I then asked.

"Do you need anything?"

Shaking his head he replied.

"Just some sleep after this. I'm sure it won't be long till I get more visits from new soldiers trying to make it big."

Giving him a chuckle I urged.

"Be careful here. I don't trust them."

"Nether do I Hunter. Don't worry. Just go get some rest."

"Thanks again Marx." I replied as he again urged.

"Thank Char."

"I will." I stated as I got the door.

Leaving him to his project, I grew even more confused about Raptor. He never told me he had friends in G.U.N.

Getting no where in the means of keeping busy, I continued to look around the Capital. I've never been here up till now. I never knew such a big and beautiful place existed. It's sad this is now a place of war.

Looking to the entrance, I watched as Wreak came walking in. He looked really tired.

"Wreak?" I said as he heard my voice near instantly.

Looking up he replied.

"Hunter? Your finally awake huh? How you feeling?"

"I'm good." I stated as he stopped in front of me to ask.

"Did ahh...did Raptor already tell you about that thing?"

Nodding I replied.

"Yeah. I told him not to worry. I can handle it."

Giving me a small smile Wreak wondered.

"You know what your looking for? Or did he say I'd show you?"

Giving him a big smile, I replied.

"He said Archer would, but I won't argue if you can."

"It will have to wait till the morning. Everyone is in their bunks and it's a fucking mad house out there." He replied as he looked down in a lack for energy.

"I can tell. You look beat."

Giving me a chuckle, Wreak replied.

"That's a way to describe it I guess. I'll be fine after some rest. Today has just been a long one. I haven't had to work this much since the old days. To be honest let's just go back to twenty guys. Might keep me sane a while longer."

"Hehehe, I think you'll manage Wreak." I stated as he nodded.

"You're probably right. Listen, I'm gonna get going to bed. I have another busy day ahead of me. Come find me, I should be out on the training field. I'll point him out for ya."

"Thanks Wreak." I replied as he smiled and began to walk off.

Looking back gently, he urged.

"Take care. Watch the head."

"No promises." I replied as he laughed and continued on his way.

Letting out a sigh, I once again found myself lacking anything to do. Everyone was ether out or in bed. I think I'm pretty fucked.

Fixing my quills, I figured now would be a good time to get a shower. I need to see just how beat up my head is.

Walking up stairs, I looked for an empty room in the officer's quarters. I know I'm not an officer myself, but who was going to stop me?

I assumed Raptor would take over Monroe's soon enough, so I decided to take the room across from his. Only felt right that I be near him now that I have to watch over this so called "spy."

Upon entering, I instantly felt the presence of the last owner. His clothes laid around the room and his bed was tossed. Looked like he got up in a hurry.

With my eyes leading me to the bathroom, I went to test the water. As it ran down my hand, I began to slowly feel it go warmer and warmer. With a smile, I got undressed.

That's it for this chapter. Let me know what you think.

mT Shadow.
