Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 62 – When I Was Sane.

Raptor's POV, Iraq Capital.

I sat there on my bed with Shadow's gun in my hand resting along my leg. I stared on and on at it. I never wanted to let go of it. It meant too much to me.

Feeling the pain in my shoulder, I let out a sigh to lay down on my back.

Marx didn't hear about the attack yet. I plan on keeping it from him just because I don't want anyone telling me what I should and should not do as a leader. I'm tired of everyone saying I should just sit back and watch. I'm tired of watching it all go to shit. Without my intervention things will go so differently. I need to be the one to change this country. Even if it meant losing everything I had left to my name.

I felt different after what happened tonight though. I felt alive. Killing for some reason never felt so good. Hurting the people who were in my way was almost like ecstasy. The power I held, the feeling of being invincible felt so right. I knew from the beginning I was bound to end up like I was back in the old days. A man who didn't care how he ended the enemy. A man who was once again a ruthless and in a way; feared leader. Just like when I was in Special Forces. Only difference this time around was that I was in control of everything and everyone. I want G.U.N to pay for acting against our rights. I want them to pay for everything they've done. I wana kill them all.

As I sat there in peace, I heard my door open. Immediately I aimed my gun to find Hunter standing there completely brought to fear by the sudden action.

"It's me!" She whispered as I let out a sigh to reply.

"I'm sorry. I'm a little on edge right now. Is there something you need? It's late."

Putting my gun down and to my lap, I looked into her eyes as she replied.

"I wanted to see if you were okay. Now that we're where we are I know it must be a lot of weight on your shoulders. You have an army now. You have half of Iraq following you. It has to be making you nervous." She stated as I shook my head to reply.

"No. To be honest I feel good. I'm happy everyone is looking to me to lead them now. I think I understand most of my situation now."

"What do you mean?" She wondered as I urged her to come over.

"Come here." I added to my motion as she made her way over to me.

Taking her hand, I instantly saw a hint of confusion in her body.

"I'm sorry I treat you the way I do. You get injured on my orders. My out of anger orders. Then not even a few hours ago did I wake you to tell you I was going to do it all again. I'm putting you in danger and I feel bad about it. I don't want you to think I hate you for what you think we had. But at the same time, I do want you to know how I feel."

"Feel about...what?" She asked in a lost tone as I now ran my hand up her arm.

I felt her begin to shake as I replied.

"Shadow wasn't a perfect man. He did a lot of things wrong with his life. Yet he's a hero for his end result. Looking at what I am now, I can see that the same thing may happen to me if I truly end this war with G.U.N. I could kill you now for example." I stated as I pulled up my gun to point it at her stomach.

Hunter gulped as I went on to say.

"I could kill you now and fight through the pain of why I did it. The people around me would know I murdered you in cold blood. They would probably hate me or at the least fear me. But I could then end the war forever. Give us permanent freedom. Freedom Shadow once gave us in his life. And even though I did a horrible deed like killing you, I would still only be remembered as a hero to the future kids to this country. In a way, it's fucked up. But on the other end of the spectrum, it's reality. Do you understand me?" I wondered as I put the gun down to look back into her eyes.

"I do. But what's the point in saying all this Raptor?" She asked as I began to cry silently.

Hunter was instantly shocked as I replied to her question.

"I could die tomorrow. I could die tonight. Hell I might not even win us the war Hunter. And if that happened, I wouldn't be remembered at all. My point is...I no longer care about what I had. I wana move forward and fight for the future. I wana fight for you."

"Raptor?" She said in a confused voice as I got up from my bed.

Still holding her arm, I said with a quiet tone.

"I wana enjoy what time I have left. I wana experience what could have been. I decided I want to give you...give us a chance."

Hunter immediately widened her eyes as I wondered.

"I'm a horrible person saying that. I have a wife who is in Afghanistan. She thinks I still love her. We have two kids who I vowed to protect. I owe my life to do everything I can for them. But I'm now saying and feeling like they don't even matter to me anymore. And my only reason as to why is because I know now that my life is short. But right now my life is shit! I hate every moment of it. My wife inside hates me. My son wants me dead. And my daughter could care less if I died. I wana keep crying because I know right now that this is reality. No one really cares about me anymore. After Shadow died I lost all my will to live. But you give me a reason right now to fight. I wana see if there could be more. Please...Hunter...please don't hate me for this. Please don't fear me like everyone else. Please." I begged as she looked into my eyes to reply.

"I could never hate someone like you Raptor."

Gently I began to smile out of happiness.

"But is this really what you want? Do you really want to just drop what you and your wife have together?"

"I would never be able to "drop" that Hunter. I just want to try and forget it ever happened and be happy again."

Looking directly into my eyes with silence, I slowly leaned in to touch her lips. Hunter didn't fight back. She began to slowly kiss back as I sat back down on the bed with her in my arms. She smelled so good. She felt so clean and so young. It brought joy to my heart to see she really did care about me like this. Wrapping her arms around my neck as we continued to kiss, I mumbled through my lips.

"I love you."

Hunter immediately disconnected her lips from mine to question what she thought she just heard.

"What?"

Giving her a smile I replied.

"I think I love you."

A tear left her right eye as I heard her say back.

"I think I love you too."

With my heart on a high place, I reconnected our lips. This time there was a new passion between us. It was one I felt with Alicia years ago when we first had Ghost. I knew after tonight I would be signing my place in hell, but before I leave this world, I'm going to make sure I enjoyed the most of it and ended this fucking war. Once and for all.

Alicia's POV, Afghanistan Capital.

Something didn't feel right. I felt this sort of pain in my side. I didn't know what it was. But it hurt so god damn much.

Getting up from bed, I proceeded out into the hall to be stopped by a guard.

"Something a matter miss?" He wondered as I asked back, keeping my hand on my stomach.

"Is there a doctor around by chance?"

In confusion he replied.

"Yeah down in the med bay. What's the matter?"

"Just please get me there." I begged of him as he put down his rifle to get under and support my side.

Holding onto the wolf, I was quickly, but carefully escorted to the med bay. The second we got there I was met by a doctor.

"What's the matter?" He asked as he saw I was holding my side tightly.

"I don't know. Something isn't right. It hurts so much doctor."

"Bring her in here." He urged the soldier who held me up.

Getting in the room I was gently sat down on a nearby bed.

"I want you to relax while I get a scan going. Hold as still as you can."

"Okay." I replied as I did my best to withstand the agony.

It took him more then a minute to get the scan done. And as he waited for the results I said.

"It feels like internal bleeding."

With the results printing out, I watched as the doctor gave them a look to widen his eyes.

"What is it?" I asked through my pain as he quickly looked to the guard who manned the door.

"Get Mason here. Now."

"Doc?" I said in confusion as he came to my side to show me the scan he got.

"Internal bleeding is differently something your feeling right now. I'm going to administer a sedative to numb it. Okay?"

Nodding I watched as he went to get the shot ready. As he finished Mason came running in to ask.

"What's going on doc? What's the problem?"

Coming to my side, Mason stood there as the doctor turned around to reply.

"Her appendix is rupturing. I don't know as to why right now, but the area near her pelvis is filling with blood. I need to operate right away and get it out."

My body had began to go numb as the doctor finished with the shot. Mason looked to me as I begged.

"Call Raptor. I want him here. Please Mason."

Nodding he replied.

"I'll call him right now. But it's going to be a while till he can get here. Right doc?" He wondered as I looked to the doctor who replied.

"You'll be under the drugs in a few minutes. And Iraq is a good four hour flight from here. I just need you to relax for me."

"Please Mason." I said again as he nodded and got up his phone to reply.

"One second. I'm calling him now."

Hunter's POV, Iraq Capital.

With Raptor pressing his body back into the bed as I laid on top of him. We continued to kiss as I still couldn't get over what he just said to me. Hell I can't believe I said it back. It felt so natural as I touched him.

"Vrrrr! Vrrrrrrrr!"

Opening our eyes as his phone went off next to us, I asked as he reached for it.

"Who is it at this hour?"

Taking hold of his phone and turning it over to our view, I saw it was a call from Commander Mason.

Immediately Raptor answered as I still laid down on him.

"What's going on Mason?" He asked in confusion as he put it on speaker.

Coming through clearly he replied.

"I need you to come over here now. It's Alicia."

My eyes widened as he sat up. Sliding to the edge of his bed, I continued to watch as he questioned.

"What about her? What happened Mason?"

"I'm down in med bay with her. Her appendix is rupturing according to the doctor. She's already dozing off and we're about to take her into surgery. She wants you by her side for it."

I saw Raptor's face. He clearly was concerned for her still.

"That's a four hour flight Mason. And that's not even including the time it would take to fly around Pakistan to avoid G.U.N anti-air."

"The doctor should be done by then Raptor. If everything goes well she'll be in bed recovering by the time you arrive."

Letting out a sigh, Raptor looked to me to reply.

"I'm on my way."

I had a feeling he would go. I couldn't blame him.

"Call me when your almost there. I'll meet you at the pad."

"Alright." He replied as he hung up the phone to stare at me.

"I'm sorry." He said with sadness to his voice as I smiled and replied.

"It's okay. You should be with her for this."

"I'll be back sometime tomorrow. We can talk then."

"Okay." I replied as he leaned in on me one last time to give me a small kiss.

Feeling his hand as he sat up, I realized he was freezing. Not soon after standing up was he already at the door.

Raptor's POV.

I didn't know what happened. Was this my fault somehow? I asked myself as I proceeded down the officer's barracks to open Wreak's door that he claimed was his.

Finding him on the bed curled up like a ball, I shouted.

"Wreak!"

Instantly he shot up to reply.

"What!? I didn't do it! I swear!"

Letting out a sigh, I watched as he turned to see me at his door.

"What's wrong?" He asked now as he broke out of his dream state.

"I'm going to Afghanistan. I'll be back tomorrow. You make sure you train those guys like hell. You understand?"

In confusion he replied.

"You can't go alone. Hold on a second. Let me get dressed and I'll go."

"I'm going to take Char. You get some rest and turn those guys into soldiers tomorrow. I'll be back later."

"Are you sure?" He questioned as he was about to put on his pants.

"I'm sure. I'll call you when I'm on my way back."

"Copy that." He replied as I shut his door to proceed down the main stairs.

Heading outside, I made my way for the barracks. As I entered I found Char making his way down to his quarters with his men.

"Char!" I shouted as him and his men turned to see me and salute.

"Commander?"

Getting in front of him I said with a strong voice.

"I need an escort. I know your tired but I want you and your men to come with me to Afghanistan for a little bit."

The wolves looked at one another, then to Char as I waited for a response.

"You do this for me and I'll give you all the week off to rest up. Deal?"

Char's men smiled and nodded as Char himself replied.

"Sounds good Commander. Where to?"

"The helipad. We're flying." I stated as he questioned.

"Do we have a pilot?"

"Yeah, me. You guys can rest in the back while I get us there. Okay?"

"Good. We can rest between here and there then." Stated Char as I nodded and began my walk towards the exit. With the night sky bound to fade away in the next hour or so, I tired my hardest not to focus on how wiped out I was. Alicia needed me. The least I could do is be there for her now. God I hope she's okay.

Shadow's POV.

Looks like the trip to the bathroom was worth it.

I watched as Voltz made his way to the helipad. I had to call this in. Linnen will want to know.

Waiting till the men had left the building, I took my chance to head outside as well. Quickly and carefully did I try my best to find a secluded spot. Behind the barracks seemed best for now. Taking a second to make sure no one was nearby, I pulled out the phone I had tucked away in my pocket.

Keeping an eye out as I now dialed up Linnen, I placed the phone to my ear and refocused on my objective.

"Who's this?" Linnen sounded like he just woke up.

"Shadow sir." I replied as he quickly got a tone ready for me.

"Report." He ordered as I replied quietly.

"Day one was a lot. I'm pretty sure Voltz and his two lead members are onto me. But they don't know for sure. I'm doing everything I can to prove them otherwise. Shouldn't be too hard. As for my main reason for calling, I just overheard from Raptor himself say he was now on his way to Afghanistan. He's heading to a helipad now. I'm sure he's going to do his best to avoid our borders on his way."

It was clear Linnen was ready to take this chance early on. With an interesting tone he replied.

"This is exactly why I needed you there. Good job Shadow."

"What's the plan sir?" I wondered as he calmly replied.

"Leave Voltz to me for now. You focus on keeping on the inside."

"Yes sir." I replied as I he hung up in speed.

I knew for a fact he was going to try something now that he knew. I had no idea what he was planning, but I'm sure it won't be good. For Raptor's sake anyhow.

Commander Drake Linnen's POV, Pakistan Capital.

Hanging up on my inside source, I made my way to my officer's barracks. Approaching my lead Lieutenant's room, I began to knock. Soon enough he opened the door.

"Sir?" He wondered as he stood before me with his pants and no sir on.

"Get your men together. We have an opportunity."

Voltz soon wouldn't know what hit him.

Sorry guys I've been working a lot lately. Got to catch up on my sleep some days. Let me know what you think of the chapter though. Thanks again.
