Chapter 70 – Without All Of You.
Wreak's POV, Holding Cells, Pakistan.
Everyone looked to me for the answer. I know Archer didn't want it, but I saw no other way. Raptor is tough yes, but in this condition even he won't survive the journey back. I saw only one option to keep him alive. Looking to Black I ordered.
"Give it to him."
Black nodded as Archer immediately shut his eyes to say.
"Your killing him. You know that Wreak?"
I ignored Archer as Black replied.
"Just be ready to move. Once I do this we need to go. Their bound to find us out soon enough."
Nodding I stood up and watched as Black slowly placed the needle in Raptor's neck. I stared on with everyone else as the Venom went in deep.
After it was all said and done with, Black pulled back and watched for himself as the Venom went to work. My eyes watched as the holes in Raptor's hands began to seal themselves.
"What the hell?" Questioned Misty. She never saw the Venom at work. Truth be told nether have I really. This was basically a first me too. I had no idea of the healing powers it held. As Raptor's hands sealed I looked to see that his quills were getting darker. I began to worry but Black urged.
"It's okay. It's natural." Vector agreed as we continued to watch. Raptor's hands began to swell down and in time we began to see him breathing heavier. It was a good sign.
With his quills slowly going back to their normal shade, Black nodded to himself and ordered.
"Get him up and moving Misty. Once your done, I want you Wreak to carry him to the Humvee outside. Vector and I will watch your back."
"Got it." I replied as I got up to let Misty get to work.
After covering what wounds remained, Misty looked at me to urge.
"Be careful with him."
Taking my knife and cutting the ropes holding him in place. I slowly grabbed his arm and lifted him out of the seat. His body was limp, but it gave me space to work with. Lifting him onto my back, I looked back to Black to urge.
"Let's get going."
Nodding by the exit, Black replied.
"Stay behind me and Vector. Archer, you watch the rear and cover Wreak and Misty."
Archer nodded slowly as he got back up his rifle.
With Vector leading the way we proceeded back out to where Young and that fox were resting. I looked over their dead bodies as Black checked the next hall.
"Clear. Come on."
Staying right behind him, we proceeded back to the administration office. As we came to the door leading back into where the woman was behind the counter, Black panicked and stopped us all before entering to whisper.
"G.U.N."
Looking over his shoulder and into the room, I widened my eyes to see a squad of men confronting the woman.
"Where are they?" One asked as she pointed towards our door.
"They went to go help Captain Young."
Slowly shutting the door, Black pointed to a room close to our side to order.
"Get inside and keep quiet."
The five of us quickly rushed into the room and went silent. The men could be heard approaching the main door as Black himself peered out at it.
Looking over my shoulder at Raptor who laid there, I smiled and refocused on Black as he pinned the wall. My eyes kept still as the group of soldiers from the administration office came rushing through the main door. Quickly they passed by and Black looked back to us to state.
"We're going to have to go loud. Wreak you get to the Humvee as fast as you can get the Commander secured. Vector and I will drop anyone in the way. Archer you keep Misty safe and get her and Wreak to the truck. You got it?"
Archer nodded as Black got the door slowly.
"Let's do this." He said to himself as he fully pushed it open. Following behind, I looked left to see the soldiers almost at the security room.
"Go." Ordered Black as he aimed at the woman behind the counter. She was anware of us up till this point, but the second she saw us she screamed.
"Hey! Guards! There over...!?"
Black gave her too much time in my opinion but it was already too late for us by now.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Dropping her with three straight shots to the chest, the woman collapsed behind the counter and into her chair. As the spent round hit the ground Black ordered.
"Get to the Humvee!"
Looking back from where we came it was clear the guards were coming back in force. We had to go and right now.
Black's POV.
Wreak, Archer, and Misty made a break for the door as Vector and I stayed back to deal with the inbound guns. Grabbing a flashbang off my belt, I ordered Vector.
"Get outside!"
Obeying as I pulled the pin, Vector ran by me and I stood to throw the flash at the door where the soldiers were coming from. Backing my way up to the exit, I watched as the grenade went off just as the men came through. Nearly blinding myself, I broke to the left and bashed outside to find Wreak and the others getting in the Humvee.
As of right now the Capital was on alert, but I had a feeling no one knew what was going on. They were not expecting an attack from the inside. Making my way to the Humvee to get in the passenger side, I ordered Vector who got the engine going.
"Get us out of here!"
Spinning us around, Vector made haste for the gate.
"Get the Commander secure Wreak! It's going to be a bumpy ride!"
"Got him!" He replied as I looked to the gate to see it was closed.
"We can't bust through that Cap!" Stated Vector as I nodded and replied.
"Pull up! I'll get the gate! You just be ready to pull out when it's open!"
Driving up to the entrance, the guard who we once dealt with approached my side to order.
"Stop! You can't..! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!"
We didn't have the time. And if me killing this man didn't make it clear who the enemy was, then I had no other way of making it clear to everyone around who witnessed it. With the base now focused on us, I jumped into the control booth and hit the gate lever. Slowly it began to open.
With bullets now coming at me, I jumped behind the passenger door to the Humvee and waited as it fully opened.
"Get in!" Ordered Vector as I waited for a break in the fire to take my chance.
Once I heard the slightest stop, I jetted out of cover and back into the truck. Vector immediately pulled out of the Capital as I got the door shut behind me.
"Go!" I ordered him as looked back at the Capital.
Commander Drake Linnen's POV.
I awoke to gunshots. My mind instantly went into panic mode as I got out of bed to rush my door.
"What's going on?!" I asked one of my guards.
As he went to respond the base alarm went off. Running back in my room, I grabbed my 44. and rushed out into the hall. My men followed as I loaded my gun.
"Commander Linnen!?" Looking to my right as I neared the main stairs, one of my patrolmen came running full sprint towards me.
"Report!" I ordered him as he caught his breath to reply.
"We have a problem. Intruders got into the holding cells. They killed Captain Young and Sergeant Maxon and managed to free Raptor Voltz. By the time we knew they were already at the main gate in one of our Humvees. They just drove off a few seconds ago. And they killed the guard at the gate."
My anger has never reach a point like this up till now. I had a million questions to ask but all I shouted was.
"I want everything! Send everyone after that Humvee and get Voltz back!"
"Can I call air support sir?" He wondered as I nodded and replied.
"To track that Humvee only! Don't you dare open fire on them! I need Voltz alive!"
"Yes sir." He replied as I pushed by him to run for the main door.
"I couldn't fucking believe this. My home! My fucking Capital was breached and none of my men knew it!? What kind of people do I have working for me!?" I asked myself as I looked to my team to order.
"Get me a Humvee! We're going after them!"
Nodding, my team leader made his way for any nearby Humvee. Soon pulling up, I got in the passenger seat to order.
"Get in!"
The rest of my men got in as fast as they could and we were off. I was not going to stand for this. No one comes into my home and fucks me like this. It had to be Rebellion. I don't know how they got so close so fast, but I didn't care right now. I was going to kill them all!
Vector's POV.
"All teams converge on that Humvee! Air support is in bound!" Stated G.U.N command over Black's comm. Everyone immediately began to panic as we heard that air support was coming.
"Air support?!" Shouted Misty in confusion as Wreaked urged.
"We need to get off the main road Black!"
Nodding Black replied in a calm tone.
"We're going for the factory no matter what. We will lose them in there. And the air support won't do anything to us. I'm sure Linnen ordered Raptor's safe return. They won't risk hurting us while we're in this Humvee for now."
"But what about the rest of us?" Questioned Misty as I already knew the answer along with everyone else here.
Misty went silent as she slowly came to the conclusion as well.
"All they can do is follow us. Once we're in the pipe we'll be safe. They won't come after us." Stated Black as I quickly jumped in to state.
"They'll figure out our plan soon enough Cap. Linnen has Gen Sec still in the dunes. The second he knows we're heading for the canyon he'll send them to intercept us and the helicopter."
Black nodded and quickly replied.
"Again, they won't risk killing Raptor. We get him to the chopper and he'll be safe. For right now we just need a way of delaying them."
The plant was not far away at the speed I was going, but as I kept us driving I looked to Black to ask.
"May I speak openly for a sec Cap?"
Looking to me as G.U.N could be seen closing in he replied.
"What is it Vector?"
"I have an idea." I stated as I knew he wouldn't like or even approve of it.
In a confusion of my hesitation he replied.
"What?"
Taking a gulp as a G.U.N Viper came flying overhead I said.
"The plant has a pressure system in the main control room. If I was to raise the pressure to a level high enough, I could make it so the storage pipes burst from the inside. The blast wouldn't affect the canyon pipeline since it runs on a separate track. Anything inside the factory would be washed out heavily by the sheer force. It would buy us the time needed to cover an escape."
Black was lost by the idea as Wreak questioned.
"In order to do all that though someone needs to manually turn the valves. And that person would only have a few seconds before it would all go off. We can't risk that."
"I can do it." I stated as Black and everyone else looked to me in confusion.
"I would need some cover for the first few valves, but after that you guys can get into the pipeline and get running."
"No! We can figure something else out!" Urged Black as I shook my head and replied.
"There is nothing else! We can't fight the whole fucking army Cap!"
"I'm not leaving you!" Stated Black in force as I shouted.
"We don't have a choice! It's them or...!?"
Stopping in my tracks, I looked in the rear view to see over six Humvees now behind us.
Everyone looked back to widen their eyes as I urged Black now calmly.
"Just trust me. Raptor is all that matters. Get him to safety. I'll be fine."
Black could only stared at me in silence of how to respond. I could tell he was lost on how to feel. But we didn't have a choice at this point. G.U.N would overwhelm us soon. My life is expendable. Raptor's is not. Nether is Black's.
"Vector?" I heard Black say in a sad tone as I quickly replied.
"I want to do this. Just promise to cover me."
Looking over to him as the factory was now within sight, I shouted.
"Black!"
Slowly he began to nod.
"Okay. Let's do this. Archer?"
"Yeah Black?" He replied as it was clear he was feeling sorrow for him at this point.
With a lost tone Black ordered.
"Cover Wreak and Misty. Get them in the pipe safely. I'll watch out for Vector."
Pulling into the main lot of the plant, I shouted as G.U.N wasn't far behind.
"We need to go! Now!"
Everyone quickly began to follow me as I got out of the truck to run for the entrance. Black struggled as G.U.N came up to a park behind our Humvee.
Commander Drake Linnen's POV.
I had them. They pinned themselves in a corner by coming here.
A few escorts behind, I got out of my Humvee with my men to see the Rebels running into the plant. I could see Voltz being dragged behind them as my men awaited orders.
Pulling up my 44. I replied in a loud tone.
"Get in there and make an example of them! But I want Voltz alive!"
As my orders were clear, my men along with my black ops team made haste for the entrance. These rebels stood no chance. I was going to have their heads.
Vector's POV.
I ran right for the control room. The pipes had to be access from there. Once I got everything ready I just would need to turn them. Running for the room that was towards the far end of the plant, I ordered Black who tailed behind.
"Cover me! I'll get to work on this!"
Nodding Black turned for the entrance. G.U.N would be coming in any moment. We don't have any time left. With Wreak and Misty getting Raptor down into the pipe as I set up, as Black began to open fire.
Looking up as I reached the main console in the control room, I widened my eyes to easily see over twenty men running in. Black had no other choice but to take cover as I got the pipes ready to burst. As soon as I was done, I ran back out to the main room to help my Captain.
With G.U.N setting up positions all around, it would be impossible to fight nor move for much longer. With bullets coming by my head I screamed.
"Get to the pipe! I got this!"
Immediately Black looked back at me from his position to reply.
"I'm not letting you do this alone!"
Inching my way for the first pipe, I replied.
"You don't have a say in the matter! We will all die if I don't do this!"
Black's POV.
My heart went two ways. It was nearly impossible to leave Vector alone. I ignored his wishes to get in the pipe and with soldiers closing in I made a break for his position.
Jumping over a nearby pipe, I got down next to him to shout.
"You'll die if you do this!"
Turning the first valve he looked to me directly to reply.
"I don't care. It's my job to keep you alive."
Popping up out of cover to take a shot at nearby G.U.N soldier, I quickly dropped him to get back down behind the pipe to shout back at Vector.
"It's not your job to die for me Vector!"
Giving me a smile he replied.
"It's my job to die for something I believe in. It's all I can hope for in death. I've always been expendable Cap."
In rage I screamed.
"Your not expendable to me!"
With my words leaving hollow, I panicked as Vector went to the next pipe.
"Vector!" I shouted as he left me alone with a nearby trooper.
Caught off guard as the man jumped the pipe at me. I quickly shot out his feet to place a bullet in his head. Now with a moment to breathe, I ran for Vector who already spun the next valve.
"This is the last one Cap. Get to the pipe and leave." He ordered me as I shook my head.
"I'm not letting you do this!" I stated as he smiled.
"Like I said. You don't have a choice. Tell Gabe and the others I'll miss them."
In utter loss for what to say I panicked and screamed.
"Tell them yourself! I'm not...?!"
Getting grabbed by the arm, I looked back to see it was Archer.
"Let's go!" He ordered as I looked back to Vector to order in rage.
"Come on! Stop fucking with me! I can't lose you!"
"You'll be fine." He replied with that fucking smile again as I began to cry.
"Get him out of here Archer." He ordered him as I began to get dragged away.
"Vector!" I shouted as he stood next to the last pipe now.
With his hands on the valve he shouted as Archer forced me next to the hole leading down into the pipeline.
"It's been an honor Cap! Good luck! Win this shit for us!"
"VECTOR!" I screamed as I attempted to run for him.
Grabbing me by the neck as Black Ops troopers now neared our position, I was forced to watch as Vector sealed his fate by turning the valve. Not even a few seconds after did I begin to see the plant shaking. Everything was going to blow.
Smiling at me from his position, I looked towards the entrance to see Linnen making his way in.
"LINNEN!" I screamed as Archer now used all his power to throw me down the hole.
Commander Drake Linnen's POV.
"LINNEN!"
I heard a strange voice as I entered behind my men. Looking towards where it came from, I spotted Black being held by an unfamiliar rebel. Throwing him down something, I lost my view on Black as I began to feel something shaking around me.
Looking around to see the pipes shaking everywhere, I panicked and ordered.
"Get out! GET OUT OF HERE!"
My men were spread all around. I knew it was too late.
Turning to run with my men for the door, I panicked and felt my heart stop as the pipes all bursted in one fatal fashion. Everything went black as sound soon was absorbed by a forceful wave of filth.
Archer's POV.
Everything went off as I shut the lid to the pipe. Black who I was forced to throw down stared at me in loss for words as everything went silent and water began to leak into our pipe.
"We need to go." I urged him as he was clearly lost on how to act. I felt horrible he had to go through this, but we had no other choice.
"We had no other choice." I stated as I offered him my hand.
"He did what he had too. He didn't die in vein. Now come on. We can't stay here. We need to get to that helicopter. We're running out of time."
Slowly taking my hand he replied.
"Okay."
"Come on." I urged him again as I took off after Wreak and Misty who were already a good distance away with the Commander.
Black's POV.
As I got back on my gas mask, I asked myself.
"What now?"
I felt this missing hole in my heart without Vector here. And Linnen? He was right fucking there! I could have killed him! I shouted to myself as I struggled to go on.
"What do I do without him?" I asked myself as I finally reached the others. Raptor had a mask on thanks to Misty's help and as I approached, they looked back to me with weary eyes. I had no idea. But I was still crying.
"God damn it Vector."
