AN: Remember how my previous story "Screamed And Redeemed" was based on an unused idea originally conceived by Cyberverse writer Mae Catt (a redemption arc for Starscream where he emerged from his Quintesson judge body with amnesia and carrying a psychic shard of Windblade)? Well, I also mentioned in that story that I would see about writing other Cyberverse stories featuring characters and concepts Mae Catt originally wanted to feature in the show, so that's what I'm doing here. This story features a character Mae Catt apparently wanted to appear in the series really badly: Obsidian. Since his consort from Beast Machines, Strika (known as Alphastrike in Cyberverse due to trademark reasons), appeared in the show, I figured maybe there was a way she could fit into a story featuring Obsidian. And, well, here it is. Hope you all like it.

One morning in Croaton City, Alphastrike was in a shooting range performing some target practice on some training dummies, pretty much obliterating them with each shot from her back-mounted cannons, and pretty soon, she had destroyed every single one.

"Hey, I need some more dummies over here", Alphastrike shouted.

Someone in a control box responded by pressing a button, and some more training dummies began rolling out on radio-controlled platforms, and Alphastrike went back to blasting them with her cannons, but also smashed a few with her fists, and at that moment, Skywarp, the captain of the Seekers, walked in and found her causing the destruction.

"Uh, Alphastrike", Skywarp asked.

Alphastrike turned around.

"What", Alphastrike asked.

One of her cannons accidentally went off, and Skywarp quickly ducked to avoid getting hit.

"Hey, watch it", Skywarp said.

"Sorry", Alphastrike said.

Alphastrike grabbed a training dummy and crushed it with a punch before walking over to her friend.

"What's up, Skywarp", Alphastrike asked.

"I noticed that you were practicing your combat skills", Skywarp said.

"So", Alphastrike asked.

"You only do that when something's bugging you", Skywarp said, "what is it?"

"Oh, it's nothing", Alphastrike said, "you probably wouldn't understand it, anyway."

"Try me", Skywarp said.

"Well, okay", Alphastrike said, "are you familiar with the name Obsidian?"

Skywarp did indeed recognize the name.

"You mean the Obsidian", Skywarp asked, "the Decepticon general who was the leader of countless attacks that wiped out thousands of Autobots."

"Yep, that's the one", Alphastrike said.

"That guy's a legend", Skywarp said, "he hasn't been seen in forever."

"No, he has not", Alphastrike said, "and I sure miss him."

Skywarp was a little bit perplexed by Alphastrike's words.

"Wait, did you know him", Skywarp asked.

"You might say that", Alphastrike said, "I was his consort."

Skywarp was more surprised than ever to hear what Alphastrike had just said.

"So let me get this straight", Skywarp said, "you had a close relationship with one of the greatest generals in Decepticon history?"

"I sure was", Alphastrike said, "he and I were always close, even before the war."

Flashback

In a boot camp of some sort somewhere on Cybertron, long before the war, Alphastrike, who was not yet a Decepticon, was supervising some recruits that were hard at work doing transform-ups.

"You call those transform-ups", Alphastrike asked, "come on, put your backs into it!"

The recruits continued with their transform-ups, and Obsidian, a mech who traveled around via two helicopter rotors on his shoulders, hovered into view.

"How goes the training, Alphastrike", Obsidian asked.

"Pathetic", Alphastrike said, "these recruits are among the worst pieces of machinery I have ever laid my optics on."

"Give them time, my dear", Obsidian said, "all they need is discipline, and soon enough, they will be ready to fight."

"Very well", Alphastrike said, "but they'd better shape up soon."

Obsidian hovered away, and Alphastrike went back to attending to her recruits.

End Flashback

"Wow", Skywarp said, "sounds like you two had a bit of a thing going on."

"Yeah, I guess we did", Alphastrike said, "and we still had it going on when Megatron approached us."

Flashback

Some time following the first flashback, in the early stages of the war, Megatron met with Obsidian and Alphastrike to discuss a proposition he had for the two boot camp instructors.

"So, let me see if I understand this", Obsidian said, "you want me and my consort to train our remaining students to fight for your side in this conflict?"

"Of course", Megatron said, "we need all the mech power we can get if we want to put an end to the Autobots."

"And what do we get out of this arrangement", Alphastrike asked.

"I'm glad you asked", Megatron said, "once you have finished training these new recruits, you both shall be given a prominent role among my Decepticons."

The two instructors were quite attentive about this offer.

"I have heard tales about how you have both defended Cybertron from those who threaten it in the past", Megatron said, "your unmatched combat skills would be very much valued in the Decepticon ranks."

This made the duo even more interested.

"So what do you say", Megatron asked, "will you join me and help bring upon a new era in Cybertronian history?"

Obsidian and Alphastrike looked at each other before the former extended his hand.

"We will follow you to the end, Lord Megatron", Obsidian said.

The two shook hands, and a sinister grin appeared on Megatron's face, with Obsidian and Alphastrike's faces wearing equally sinister looks.

"So, we spent the rest of our time with our recruits training them to become loyal Decepticon soldiers for Megatron, and once they had completed their training, Megatron made good on his promise and inducted me and Obsidian into his ranks", Alphastrike narrated, "and once we were a part of his forces, we set to work terminating and obliterating every Autobot in sight."

Obsidian transformed into a twin-rotor assault helicopter and took flight, pursuing some generic Autobot soldiers who were trying to escape him on foot, and fired missiles at them, but they managed to dodge his attack and ducked into an alley, but their relief was short-lived when they saw Alphastrike coming towards them in her Cybertronian tank form, prompting them to take off running again, and they stopped when they saw Obsidian hovering in front of them in vehicle mode, and once Alphastrike crept up behind them, the two Decepticons transformed into robot mode and prepared to fire their weapons on the three unlucky Autobots.

End Flashback

"Man", Skywarp said, "thank the AllSpark you two were on our side."

"Yes, we made a great team", Alphastrike said.

Then, she let out a sigh.

"That is, until, he left", Alphastrike said.

"Left", Skywarp asked, "why?"

"Shortly after Optimus Prime threw the AllSpark through the space bridge, Megatron was just as desperate to find it as he was determined to destroy Optimus for what he did", Alphastrike said, "so he deployed teams of Decepticons across the galaxy to find it, and, as fate would have it, he appointed Obsidian commander of one of those teams."

Flashback

Obsidian was hovering towards up the platform for a Decepticon shuttle, when he heard footsteps coming his way, and turned around to find that it was Alphastrike.

"If you've come to try and talk me out of doing this again, don't bother", Obsidian said, "I have my orders."

"Please, don't leave me", Alphastrike said, "I can't stand the thought of us being lightyears apart from one another."

Obsidian turned around and hovered over to his consort.

"Alphastrike, you and I have been close for as long as I can remember", Obsidian said, "I promise: whatever happens, wherever I go, you will always be my consort."

The two held hands for a moment, and Obsidian boarded the shuttle.

"I shall return to you once our search is complete", Obsidian said.

The hatch to the shuttle closed, and it took off, Alphastrike watching as it flew away.

"So long, Obsidian", Alphastrike said, "I shall wait for you!"

End Flashback

"After Megatron found out that the AllSpark was on planet Earth, he called the teams he deployed and ordered them to return to Cybertron, but Obsidian and his team never returned", Alphastrike said, "and when he left with the Decepticon armada to travel to Earth, I elected to stay on Cybertron in hopes that Obsidian would return, but even after all that waiting, he still hasn't come back."

Alphastrike let out a sad sigh.

"I don't have a clue where he is now, or even if he's still online or not", Alphastrike said.

Skywarp could see that her friend was very troubled like this.

"Hey, I'm sure it's alright", Skywarp said, "like Obsidian said, whatever happens, wherever he goes, you will always be his consort."

"I guess so", Alphastrike said, "but I wish I knew what's become of him."

"There's no telling what might've happened to him", Skywarp said.

Then, they heard what sounded like helicopter blades whirring.

"Hey, what's that", Skywarp asked.

Alphastrike could recognize the sound, and she began to become hopeful.

"I'd recognize that sound anywhere", Alphastrike said.

Alphastrike got up and bolted out of the shooting range, and there, hovering in the streets, was none other than Obsidian.

"Obsidian", Alphastrike said.

Obsidian turned around and noticed his consort coming towards him.

"Alphastrike", Obsidian said.

The two Decepticons approached ran towards each other, and embraced in a hug.

"You're alive", Alphastrike said.

"Yes, and I am here", Obsidian said, "I did not forget my promise."

Skywarp watched the happy reunion between the two cons.

"All is well among the Decepticons once again", Skywarp said.

Skywarp transformed into jet mode and flew away, and Alphastrike and Obsidian continued talking.

"Where have you been all this time", Alphastrike asked, "I wasn't sure if you were even functional or not."

"When we were searching for the AllSpark, our ship was hit by an asteroid, and me and my team crash landed on the planet Chaar", Obsidian said, "we had to survive on our own for millions of cycles, until finally, we managed to repair our ship and return home."

"Well, I'm happy to have you back after all this time", Alphastrike said.

"As am I", Obsidian said, "now then, what has happened on Cybertron in my absence?"

"Plenty", Alphastrike said, "allow me to fill you in."

And so, the two reunited Decepticons went on their way together, with Alphastrike telling Obsidian all about what happened while he and his team were away.

AN: This is a message for my friend Mariah, an anonymous user. In response to your story suggestion in your review for "What's Up With Skullcruncher," I'm afraid I won't be doing that. To be honest, I don't do ships like Optimus Prime x Bumblebee. I'm sorry if you're disappointed to hear this. Anyways, I have heard about Transformers: Nezah, but there's only one trailer out for it so far, and information relating to it is pretty scarce. I've also heard about the made-for-TV Cyberverse movies, and I learned that one of them is apparently going to introduce the other Dinobots. One more thing: have you ever considered making an account on this site? There's much to be gained from doing so, such as being able to follow your favorite authors and stories easily, and also publishing any ideas you might have. Not to mention it'll make communication between the two of us easier. This is just a suggestion, though. Anyways, I hope I gave you the responses you were hoping for, and also that you liked this story.
