Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 87 – Do This For Me Middle East.

Linnen's POV, Pakistan Capital.

Raptor got away. Its like a coward to run from trouble. I'll get him soon enough. But what worried me was Gorgon. I haven't heard a word from him since he went out. I wonder when he'll...?!

As I sat behind my desk in thought, I panicked as Gorgon pushed open my door with his men behind him. My eyes instantly widened as I saw Gorgon was...?

"Holy shit." I said in a shocked tone as he approached my desk to reply.

"We need to talk."

Looking him over I asked.

"Are you okay? I've never seen you...?!"

"I'm fine! Fuck my health right now Drake! I know you want me dead regardless so just shut your mouth; acting like you give a shit!" He ordered me as I lost my concern for him and instantly put on my angered face to ask.

"What's the problem then? How the hell did all this happen?"

Limping slightly, he replied with force.

"We got to the location where Voltz was tracked too. Gen Sec beat us there and they had Ruby and Jagger's bodies on site."

Nodding I stated.

"So he did kill them."

Pointing at me Gorgon replied.

"Yeah he killed them! Then he rigged the bodies to blow and killed all those mercs and nearly got me! I'm tired of listening to your bullshit!"

"Excuse me? How is this my fault?" I asked him in utter confusion.

Getting in my face Gorgon yelled.

"You sent two of my men alone to handle him, when I clearly wanted all of us to go! Now their dead and Voltz is still gaining ground!"

"It's not my fault your men failed their mission! Both of them were legends! All of you are fucking legends! Two of you should be more then enough to handle a washed up rebellion officer!" I yelled back into his face as tension was rising more and more with each heavy breath thrown at one another.

"He's more then just some washed up soldier Drake! He knows what he is doing and I demand control over the mission!"

"You demand!?"

Nodding and pushing me back Gorgon replied.

"Yeah I demand! I will get the job done and you fucking know it!"

Gorgon's POV.

Linnen was backing down. I could see it in his eyes.

"I know the game your playing! You saw the opportunity to become Hecan's bitch, a chance to get out of trouble for what we did to Lore!"

Instantly Linnen widened his eyes as I smiled and pushed him once more.

"You know if you make that call you'll be the only one to make it out alive! I know your fucking games Drake cause I'm the one who invented them! But like it or not I don't care if you give me control or not over Voltz, cause I'm taking it right here and right now weather you like it or not! Cause I know you won't sell us out! You have too much to lose if I go down! Cause me and my men are the only thing standing between you and Voltz! Without me you'll die to him! User or not." I stated as he now stood there in silence. My men stayed back as I now said in force.

"G.U.N will fuck us all up if they find out what happened. We'll die and so will you in the end. But if I kill Voltz and retake the Middle East, we can hopefully get a get out of jail free card for what we did. You know it and I know it Drake. G.U.N honors it's heroes. Even if we have to do some bad things to get the job done right. What do you say to that?" I asked him as he glanced back at my men then back at me.

"I can't have you leveling Iraq just to kill one man. But...if you wait till I get the word to declare war from Hecan...I'll let you and your men loose on the city. You can do whatever you feel you have to in order to kill him. How's that sound?"

Looking back at my men, they all nodded to the offer. Slowly looking back at Drake I replied.

"You have a deal. Now if you don't mind I have two soldiers to bury."

Pushing Drake one last time as I turned around, I went to head for my men to be stopped by his voice again.

"One more thing Gorgon."

Looking back at Linnen I stared into his eyes as he said.

"You don't know me. You try anything before war is declared I will sell you out. I have more leverage then you think when it comes to the punishment I'll receive for what happened to Lore. Trust me when I say you'll only be getting you and your men killed by crossing me."

Growling to his tone, I continued to listen as he said next.

"I have one more chance at killing Voltz without bringing tanks through the borders of Iraq. If you want to stay on my good side you'll help."

"Fuck yourself Drake. Whatever you have planned you do it yourself. I will not sacrifice any more on your foolish ideas."

"This one will work." He stated as I then asked.

"What is it then? Huh? What's your plan?"

Getting back to his desk, Linnen replied.

"I have men inside the Afghanistan Capital."

"So?" I questioned as he smiled.

"Voltz has his family there."

Instantly I shook my head in disbelief.

"You can't be serious."

Nodding Linnen replied.

"Oh I'm serious. He wants to play dirty? I'll show him dirty. We do this right and he'll be back in our hands before anyone knows what happened. You just have to help me. By now you should know he's not a man to be counted out."

Looking to Scrotus for some input, I listened as he said.

"Voltz will play by our rules if his family is on the end of our guns boss. He has too. We can order him to stand down and take him there and then. No one else has to die. I hate you to Drake, don't get that mixed up with what I'm saying right now, but your plan can work."

"It will work." Stated Linnen as I looked back to him to ask through my anger.

"When?"

We all watched as Linnen just smiled.

Raptor's POV, Iraq Capital, The next morning.

Every single man and woman in my rebellion was at the Capital right now. Hundreds of them filled the courtyard as myself and Archer held by the main doors leading inside the building. Everyone was silent and staring forward as we paced back and forth. I held Ruby's cellphone in my hand as I tried to get a read on who might be the most nervous of the reason why this large of a meeting was called.

I saw Shadow towards the front of the rows staring at me as I shouted.

"As you are all aware, I am not in the best condition! G.U.N did attack us on our home turf and it won't be the last time it happens ether! Their goal!? To kill me! Thanks to each and every one of you it didn't happen! I am still here and the middle east still has a chance to pull through this war! I can't thank you all enough for protecting me! Everyone of you is family to me! I want you all to know that!"

Archer kept his eyes looking around the large group in front of us. Mainly Shadow who kept his cool as I changed my tone in a near instant.

"But one of you is against our very core beliefs! One of you has been leaking information to our very enemy!"

Gentle whispers began to flood as I nodded my head and shouted.

"That's right! Thanks to the efforts of my most trusted, we have gotten a conformation that someone among you is a spy for G.U.N! And I'm about to find out who!"

I could see worried faces among my men as I raised the phone for everyone to see.

"This is the very thing that will expose you whoever you are! All I can say to you is you better get running now! Cause once I flood you out I will purge you from this very land! You have my word!"

Archer nodded to my threat as I readied myself.

"I won't buy anymore time. Let's end this very problem here and now."

Hitting dial, I stared forward as it began to go off in my hand.

I couldn't explain the tension among my men as we all suddenly panicked and looked right to the sound of the spy's phone going off. Instantly the men who were around the other phone backed off completely as we were left with a small yellow fox who widened his eyes and began to check his pockets. Archer and myself instantly focused our full attention as he pulled out the phone to look at us and shout.

"This isn't mine! I haven't ever seen this before I swear! I'm not a spy!"

I could sense the fear in his voice as Archer ordered.

"Restrain him!"

Now in fear for his life the fox was taken down to the ground by a swamp of rebellion soldiers. As this was all going on I looked at Shadow who just watched it all happen.

Archer took notice as well and ordered.

"Bring him front and center!"

Shadow's POV.

I felt bad for the guy but I can't afford to be caught now. Not with Ruby and Jagger both dead and Raptor still alive. I still can't believe they managed to stop them so easily.

Watching alongside my team as they dragged the fox to the front where Raptor and Archer both were standing, I stared forward as the fox was tossed to the ground. As soon as he was released he looked into Raptor's eyes to beg.

"I'm not a spy Commander! I haven't ever seen this phone before I swear!"

I could tell Raptor didn't care. He just found his spy and now he was determined to end the problem. After this I would be free to move forward. I could finally get a real shot at handling business.

With Raptor pulling out his M1911 and aiming it at the fox, he replied.

"You stood behind the lines and leaked every small detail you saw to Linnen. I know how to read a spy and no matter how much you beg now I will not falter when I say you fucked up. Are you prepared?" He asked as the fox screamed.

"Please! I didn't do anything to betray the rebellion! I swear on my life!"

"Good. Cause that's the last thing you'll lose." Stated Raptor as he pulled the trigger on the poor kid.

"BANG!"

Everyone ether looked away or screamed in fear as the bullet sent the fox back first into the concrete. Blood splashed the kids face as he was instantly killed before the entire Iraq rebellion.

With Raptor lowering his gun and Archer looking at the body, we all focused and stood straight as he yelled.

"I will not leave my life in the hands of people I can not trust! Let this be an example of what will happen if you go against what our predecessors died for! What Shadow Robotnik died for! What G.U.N wants with the middle east will not become a reality again so long as we all stand strong! Do you all understand!?"

Going with the flow I yelled back with everyone else.

"Sir yes sir!"

Looking around some more, Raptor looked to Archer to order.

"Get rid of the body! The rest of you are to report back to your posts! Continue the fight and continue fighting for everlasting freedom for not only yourself but for your future generations! Dismissed!"

"Sir yes sir!" Everyone shouted as Raptor and other high ranking rebellion officers gathered around the body.

"Come on Shadow. Let's get back out there." Urged Rockwell as I glanced one last time at the fox who laid dead.

"I'm glad that's over." I stated as I walked off with my squad.

Raptor's POV.

Everyone was falling out. I watched closely with Archer and Black as Shadow was soon gone with his team once more. Slowly Hunter and a few other officers approached to stare at the fox under our feet.

"Get him inside." I ordered as my men picked up the body to begin dragging him inside the capital.

With all of us following behind as we made our way into the med bay, we were soon approached by Marx who urged.

"Lay him down."

I stayed idly by as Archer wondered.

"You think he bought it?"

Hunter and the others looked at me as I smiled slightly.

"Yeah. He bought it. You okay son?"

Everyone looked to the fox as he opened his eyes to reply.

"I'm good Commander. That dummy round caught me by surprise more then I thought it would."

Placing my hand on his shoulder as Marx helped him sit up, I replied.

"You played it off perfectly. Thanks to you we can really get to work now."

With Marx wiping off the fake blood on the kid's face, I continue to smile as he asked.

"What now? I can't just walk out there and act like nothing happened."

I chuckled along with my officers as Archer replied.

"There is a chopper coming in from the Afghanistan Rebellion in a few minutes. You'll board it undercover and once there you'll join Commander Mason and his forces and help however you can over there."

"And my team?" He asked as I replied.

"They were all informed about the situation and will be coming with you. Consider it a fresh start."

"Thank you sir." Replied the fox as I shook my head.

"Nah, thank you. Now I know for sure who my spy is."

"How did you know sir?" Wondered one of my officers as I looked to Hunter who replied.

Hunter's POV, Last night.

I couldn't sleep. Raptor was all over my mind. The things he said were just trying to find a home in my head as I paced the outside of the Capital. The moon hoovered above me like a nice light as I neared the barracks. But as I neared I heard a familiar voice say.

"So what do I do? Just keep going?"

Instantly I stopped to pin myself to a nearby wall. Around the corner I peeked to find Shadow standing there with his phone pressed on his face. He didn't notice me as whoever he was talking to gave him an answer back.

"They fucked up. I gave Ruby the intel she and Jagger needed to pull it off. It's not my fault they got captured in the process."

My eyes were wide open as it was clear he really was the spy Raptor was looking for. Every thought in my mind was to take him down now, but I knew I couldn't do it alone. As I stood there silently, Shadow said.

"Well if Voltz got them to talk then it won't be long till I'm made. I need to ditch the phone. Yeah I know. I have a plan in mind. Once it's said and done, Raptor will have his spy and I'll be free to work around the problems in place that Ruby and Jagger left for me. You have my word Linnen, I'll get back in contact with you as soon as possible. Yes sir." He replied as I was now completely convinced.

Hanging up the phone, I kept my mouth and body quiet as he let out a sigh. Slowly he walked back into the barracks. I had to follow him now. I need to find out his plan.

As carefully as I could I followed in behind. With Shadow almost back to his quarters, I widened my eyes as he passed it by to head into another team's room.

Leaving the door a crack open as he entered, I peeked in to see he was placing the phone in a fellow soldier's vest pocket as he slept. He was going to frame the poor kid.

Instantly I ran off, I had to tell Raptor.

Heading back to the main building, I ran up the stairs and passed the guards who looked utterly confused as I was sprinting by and towards the officer's quarters. As I entered the hall I was spotted by Black's men. Tap and Gabe got in my way to ask.

"What's wrong Hunter?"

"I need to see the Commander. It's important."

"He's sleeping." Stated Gabe as I shook my head to reply.

"I don't care. Let me in. I'm unarmed."

Exchanging looks, Gabe let me by and into the room. They followed me in as Raptor was out cold in his bed.

"Raptor!" I shouted as he instantly jumped out of bed to ask.

"What!? What's going on? Hunter?" He was so confused. I felt so bad for waking him. It's been too long since he got any rest.

With my feelings aside, I replied.

"I was outside walking around the barracks."

Raptor gathered himself as I went on to say.

"Just as I was about to pass the building I overheard Shadow. He was outside on the phone."

Instantly Raptor widened his eyes as I stated.

"He was talking to Linnen. He knew about Ruby and Jagger and he said that he supplied the intel for their operation."

"What? So...?" Nodding I replied.

"He's the spy Raptor. You were right."

Hunter's POV, Current day.

"I watched it all happen. After I told the Commander everything, we pulled him aside this morning to come up with a plan. Thankfully it all seemed to have worked out right."

"I'm not really dead, so I can agree to that." Stated the fox with a smile as he handed Raptor the phone.

"Thank Hunter for that. Plus it helps to have a one of the best engineers in the rebellion at our fingertips to provide good enough looking special effects." Marx smiled as Raptor gave him his credit.

"What about Shadow then? You want to deal with him now?" Wondered Archer as Raptor shook his head to reply.

"In due time. Now that we know he's the spy, we can use that to our advantage. He'll report any good intel right to Linnen and he'll act on it. We can use that to get an upper hand on things."

"You want to use an enemy spy to our advantage? Hahaha...it's so crazy sounding, but it can really work in our favor." Stated one of the officers as I smiled to Raptor who replied.

"It will work. And when the time comes, we'll handle him. Till then let's keep him alive and in the dark about us knowing. If he has any idea that we know about him, he'll run. We can't have that. Understood?"

Everyone nodded as Raptor looked back to me to say.

"Thank you. I knew I could count on you Hunter."

"No problem Commander." I replied as Archer asked.

"What now?"

"Now we wait for our chopper. Once it's here I want Marx to look after Char. I'll call Mason ahead of time so he knows about our arrival. You can fill him in once we get there. Okay kid?"

The fox continued to smile as Marx got the last of the fake blood off his face.

"Yes sir."

"Everyone get back to their posts now. We got a lot to do. Archer I need you out there with the men training." Stated Raptor as Archer nodded and replied.

"Already ahead of you."

Making his way out, Archer left leaving me and the others with Raptor who ordered.

"Hunter I need you to still keep an eye on Verbeck after all this. Let me know if he does anything."

"Yes sir." I replied as he looked to Black.

"As soon Char is unloaded and everyone is set, we'll be heading to Afghanistan with them."

"Sounds good to me. I'll make sure Tap, Gabe and Leo are ready to move." Replied Black as I questioned.

"Am I still going?"

Nodding Raptor replied.

"Yeah. Make sure your ready to go in a few."

"Got it." I replied with a smile as I left the room.

Raptor's POV.

Left with Black and him alone, I looked into his eyes to urge.

"Get your men and head down to the armory."

"Why?" He questioned as I smiled and hit his arm to reply.

"Needless to say I can't have my protection looking like standard goons. I had the gear custom ordered. I think you'll find it more...ahhhhh...your style."

Black looked confused as I approached the exit.

"Raptor!" He shouted. Stopping in my tracks I looked back at him to hear.

"Thank you for Amy. It...well it means a lot."

I sensed the care in his voice. With a small smile I replied.

"Think nothing of it. By the end of all this, I'll be the one thanking you. Just wait." I urged him as I made my way back out into the main halls.

With Leo, Gabe, and Tap all waiting outside the med sector, I ordered as they saw us coming.

"I'll be outside with the chopper. Go with the Captain and get geared up. Meet me at the pad when your all done."

"Yes sir." They replied as I left Black in command.

Now left to myself, I went back outside to wait. It wouldn't be long now.

Char's POV.

My body was still a mess. But I would manage. I had too making it this far.

With the Capital in sight and a few other men on board the chopper with me, I widened my eyes as we came to a hover over the flight deck. The landing was easy, but getting a feel for my legs wasn't. My injuries still needed time to heal the doc said. I can't be walking around for too long. I told myself as the pilot shouted.

"Welcome home!"

With the back of the chopper going down, I widened my eyes as I was immediately greeted by fellow rebellion medics.

"Easy Char. Take it slow." One urged me as I took my first step back.

"Ughh...man it feels like a pole is in my knee. I can barely move it." I told the medics as they got under my shoulders to reply.

"Don't move it then. Just let us guide you."

"Got it." I replied as he began to aid me with walking.

Slowly getting off the chopper, I widened my eyes as I caught someone walking up to the pad. Immediately he smiled as he saw me.

"Nice to see your not dead."

"Rap...Raptor? I can't believe it. Your alive."

Nodding as he came in for a hug, he replied.

"I told you I would be back. Maybe not in one piece, but this is good enough for me."

Pulling away, I began to look him over. He really was a mess.

"Linnen really did a number on you. How did you escape?"

"Black put together a rescue team. They managed to get me out of Pakistan not too soon after we were shot down. I'm only alive thanks to them. Which reminds me. How are you? Last time we were together you were in just as bad as a shape as me."

Chuckling I replied.

"Hehe, yeah I'm all messed up. Doc said my body was dehydrated and I was getting close to having a heat stroke being out there that long. Plus my leg was infected. They had to do some digging to get it all back in order, but I'll be able to walk again soon enough."

"That's good." Replied Raptor as I look away for a second to see Archer coming up the stairs behind him.

Instantly Archer came in to hug me as well and stated.

"Good to know your okay Char. We need you now more then ever."

With Raptor clearly concerned about something, I questioned.

"Where's Wreak?"

Everyone went silent. I grew worried as Raptor slowly replied.

"After I got out of Pakistan and got back here, I was out of it for a while. In a coma almost. Well needless to say Linnen wanted me dead while I was unable to fight back. So he sent two of his best to come kill me. Two highly skilled G.U.N assassins in fact."

In confusion I asked.

"Are they dead?"

Raptor nodded as Archer replied.

"We managed to stop them from getting anywhere near Raptor while he was asleep."

Something was a miss. As Archer went silent, Raptor looked back into my eyes to say.

"But not after Wreak had been shot. He's dead Char."

I felt my heart ache as Archer shut his eyes. Raptor on the other hand went on to say.

"We couldn't save him. He's gone. That's why we need you now more then ever Char."

In utter confusion I questioned.

"What can I do Commander?"

Grabbing my shoulder as the medic still held me up, he replied.

"I want you to team up with Archer and lead the men into battle. From this moment on you are in command of everything Wreak was when he was alive. You will be responsible for the training and the welfare of all my troops."

"But...?" Raptor cut me off as he urged.

"Archer is in charge of special forces. I need you to set an example for the less experienced. Your a leader Char. Same as me. Same as Archer. Same as Linnen. I know that can sound bad but you have the ability to take charge and lead men into battle. You can gain the trust and friendship of everyone without even trying. Your just like Wreak. I know it's a massive job, but I have no one else to fill the shoes. I know you can do this Char. You only need to believe in yourself and say you'll do this for not only me, but for the future of the rebellion."

Raptor had so much confidence in me. His tone showed it as Archer smiled at me from alongside his friend. With my mind at a loss I asked.

"Where would I even start?"

Archer took charge now and replied.

"You'll start by learning a few things from me. The Commander will be going to Afghanistan for a few days to see his family. With him gone, we need to take the reigns and lead this rebellion together. I have your back Char. I promise."

Even Archer was showing faith. Before this I was just a dumb kid running with a group of friends, hoping to make a change. Now this? I questioned in my head I looked away to think.

"I trust you Char." Stated Raptor as I looked back at him to reply.

"I trust you too sir."

"Then say yes. Take charge of your life right now and mold my rebellion. Your the only one who can do it. What do you say?" He wondered as I looked to Archer who continued to smile.

Soon enough a smile came to me, and with a happy tone I replied.

"I'll do it."

Letting out a happy sigh, Raptor replied.

"Then from this moment on you are in charge. You will make every man, every woman, every child. Believe in what the rebellion stands for. You will give them the confidence they need to do anything in life and you will make me an army that stands for something more then violence. Do you understand...Lieutenant?"

With a happy heart I replied.

"Yes sir!"

Hitting my arm Raptor then ordered.

"Good. Now get to the med bay and see Marx. He'll have a field day with you."

"Yes sir." I replied with a chuckle as the medic helped me move. Raptor remained on the pad with Archer as I saw the door leading into the Capital open. Everyone stopped to see who was walking out from the building. I felt instant fear as I laid eyes on them myself. Raptor on the other hand just smiled as Archer got a good look to ask.

"What the fuck is that?"

With an excited tone Raptor replied.

"My protection detail."

Black's POV, Ten minutes earlier, Iraq armory.

As we entered the armory I took notice to four large crates in the center of the room. With the arms master following in behind us, he smiled and stated.

"Commander Voltz had this gear flown in with the help of a few of my contacts in the black market. I was informed you guys were ex special forces of some kind. He wanted to make sure each of you got what you deserved when it came to protecting him. And let me be the first to say, you will not find better then what's in these crates. That I can assure you."

"What exactly is in these?" Wondered Tap as we noticed they were all marked with our names in a black marker.

"Open them and find out. I'll explain as we go." Replied the arms master as I took the lid of my crate to slowly lift it off. Near immediately did my mind go blank by what I saw. Not soon after did everyone else undo their lids and see the same thing.

"Holy shit." Muttered Tap as Leo questioned.

"How did you get these?"

Smiling the arms master replied.

"Like I said. I have connections. G.U.N doesn't even have these yet. Why you may ask? Cause these are the only ones they had before I had some guys lift them right from under their noses."

Reaching inside I pulled out a full suit of armor. I've never seen this type of Kevlar before. It wasn't carbon fiber that's for sure. It was thicker. More scaled. The suit was completely made to match the terrain of the middle east. Full coated desert camo. Still lost by what I was looking at, the arms master said with a proud tone.

"G.U.N calls these suits the combat mark seven prototypes. The only ones in existence. Meant to provide the wearers with the utmost max amount of mobility, and the best protection money and science can buy. They may seem bulky but once you put it on, the armor molds to your body almost instantly. It will feel like a second set of skin. Expect this skin can absorb more damage then any armor on the market. Hell you can probably take a rocket to the chest using these bad boys." Stated the arms master as I wondered.

"What were they meant for?"

"Like I said. Max speed and protection. As for who it was meant for I don't know. I assume only the best would have gotten these bad boys. Then those who had them would probably be used to assault the city. Clearly these were being made to combat in the middle east."

Nodding as I put the armor aside, I looked back into the crate to spot the full set of elbow and knee pads.

"Each set comes with full body protection and a helmet." Stated the arms master as I reached in for the helmet itself which was wrapped in a foam like substance.

"The helmets are pretty damn cool. Full 360 degree coverage. Made of the same material the armor is made of. Bullet proof glass face shielding and built in vital alert systems. If you get hurt the helmet will let you know what's wrong. But put it on and see for yourself what the coolest part is." Urged the arms master as I looked to see Tap and the others putting on their helmets. A smile came to my face as they put it on and the visor was activated. The glass exposing the face instantly went jet black.

"This is fucking amazing!" Shouted Tap as Leo added.

"I can't even feel it. This has to be some sort of experimental armor."

"Along with the armor sets and the helmets, the Commander had me get you guys some decent combat clothing to go on under it all. Full desert uniform. Sized and fitted to match all four of you perfectly. Along with that comes the weapons. If you guys are anything like me, I love my guns. So I took the honor of fully cleaning and upgrading all the guns you came here with. I even through in any and all the attachments you could ever want. Silencers, muzzle breaks, compensator, laser sights, scopes, extended clips, you name it."

With everyone getting into their gear, I strapped on my vest and looked to Gabe as he stated.

"We can take down half of G.U.N with this kind of gear."

"Too bad that's not what it's meant for unless it comes down to it of course. You guys are the final line when it comes to keeping our Commander safe. Not just him, but I wanted to make sure you only got the best when it comes to protecting him in the field."

"I appreciate it." I replied as I picked up my rifle. I haven't seen this gun so decked out. The things I could do with this. I said to myself as I looked to see my men almost all done. As soon as they were set I asked.

"Everyone set to move?"

"Yes sir." Replied Tap as Leo and Gabe replied.

"Good to go boss."

"All set Captain."

Smiling, I got on my helmet and watched as the visor went black. Turning to face the arms master I asked.

"How we look?"

Looking us over he replied.

"Scary. This stuff will show everyone, G.U.N, Rebellion, whoever. You are not the group of guys to fuck with. Hell you might even scare the black ops troopers Linnen has left under his command."

Chuckling I replied.

"Maybe. This will take time to get used too."

As we were almost set to go, Gabe wondered.

"You said these were prototypes right? Are you sure they work?"

Reaching for his gun, the arms master fired a round from his M9 directly into Gabe's chest. Everyone jumped in a panic as Gabe didn't even move from the sudden bullet. But the craziest part was when the bullet itself hit the armor and stopped dead in it's tracks. In a small drop, the round bounced off the floor below his feet.

"I'm sure they work." Stated the arms master as Leo replied.

"That's unreal! It didn't even make a scratch!"

Picking up the bullet, I said in a chuckling tone.

"That is unreal. Holy shit."

Gabe was too shocked for words and with a laugh Tap asked.

"We going to keep shooting each other? Or we good to go now?"

Nodding I replied.

"Yeah let's get going. We shouldn't keep Raptor waiting."

"Take care of that gear boys. If it breaks, I can't fix it. Hahaha!" Laughed the arms master as I got the door.

Leading the way, I guided us back to the main hall. Everyone stopped to stare at us as we saw the front door in sight.

"Everyone is staring." Stated Leo as Tap replied.

"Cause we're fucking badasses in this shit Leo. We don't even look rebellion."

"We're not rebellion. We're protectors. Raptor is our only concern. Nothing else unless he orders otherwise. Do all of you understand?" I asked as I got the door leading outside. As we walked outside, they replied.

"Yes sir."

Looking up to the helipad, I spotted Raptor staring down at us with Archer. Soon enough we passed by Char who just stared at us in utter awe. Once by him we made our way up to the helipad. Stopping in front of Raptor I stated.

"You weren't kidding about this gear Commander."

"Like I said, custom ordered. Hehehe, you good to go Captain?"

Nodding I replied.

"Yes sir."

Smiling Raptor replied.

"Then let's get going. Hunter!" Looking to the stairs we climbed up, Hunter made her way up to look at us. Her eyes went over the four of us as she wondered.

"Yes sir?"

"Time to go. You ready?"

"Yeah. I'm all set."

"Then let's go." Replied Raptor as he looked back to Archer who still stared at me.

"Look after Char and the men Archer. I'm counting on you." Stated Raptor as Archer nodded and replied.

"Count on it. I'll have everyone ready for war by the time you get back."

With him still staring at us; Tap gave him the finger and made his way to the helicopter. I chuckled as he growled and made my way on board as well.

Hunter's POV.

As I took my seat on board the chopper, the men who Raptor had with him also boarded. Along with the fox he shot and his men as well. But Raptor's protection detail looked familiar, but I couldn't place it. As the leader came to sit down across from me, I asked.

"Who are you guys?"

The man remained silent as Raptor now boarded to ask.

"Hows the gear fit Captain?"

My eyes widened as the man I thought was a stranger revealed himself to be Black by taking off the helmet.

"Black?" I questioned as he smiled.

"It fits like a glove. I won't ask what you had to do to get this, but I'm more then happy with it. Better then anything I had access to in G.U.N."

"The rest of you?" Wondered Raptor as he addressed who I assumed to be the rest of Black's men from before.

"Its fucking amazing Commander." Stated one of them as the big guy was next.

"Thank you."

Shaking his head Raptor replied.

"Don't thank me. It makes me feel better knowing you guys are ready for anything."

"So what's the plan?" Wondered Black as he glanced at me with a smile. I smiled back as Raptor replied.

"We're off to Afghanistan for a few days. I've been putting it off long enough thanks to all the bullshit. I wana see my wife and kids for a bit. I also have some business with Mason to address while we're there."

"Sounds good." Replied Black as he relaxed in his seat.

With a changed tone Raptor urged.

"Afghanistan is still a hostile area. The Rebellion may be a big part of the city but G.U.N still has forces within the city who would be more then happy to get a shot at me. I'll still be in danger." Stated Raptor as Black instantly replied.

"Not with us at your side. If anyone tries anything I'll make sure their dead before they even get a chance. You have my word on that. G.U.N or not."

Raptor slowly nodded as I wondered.

"If you don't mind me asking Raptor. Why am I going with you? I'm no where on the level these men are in protecting you."

Letting out a small sigh, Raptor looked over into my eyes to reply.

"That's cause your not coming to protect me. I have full faith in Black and his men. I want you to meet Alicia and my kids."

My eyes widened as he looked away to finish.

"It's important you meet them. For me and you."

With the chopper taking off, I tried to get a grasp on what he meant by that. The last thing I want to do is cause any problems between him and his wife.

With Black putting back on his helmet, Raptor ordered.

"Get us there pilot!"

"Yes Commander!" The pilot replied as I tried to focus on what was ahead. I haven't ever been to Afghanistan. I wonder if it's as great as people say it is.
