Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 89 – It's The Last Thing I Need.
Alicia's POV, Afghanistan Capital, Later that night.
I couldn't sleep. The kids however were so tired from crying that they managed to pass out hours ago. I wish I was the same way. Part of me is sad, the other is resentful of what I said to that girl who works for Raptor. I didn't mean it. I swear to god I didn't. I told myself as I got up from bed to wipe my face off of dry tears.
What surprises me is that Raptor responded the way he did. He never went as far as to yell at Ghost like he did before. Even what he said to me was abnormal for him. He's changed and I regret not being around to see it happen. I swear if I was with him in Iraq I would keep his head screwed on. God knows what Archer is doing to him over there.
Looking over to see both my kids cuddling together, I smiled slightly as I heard something from my side. Instantly I looked to see the door leading into my room a crack open.
"Hello?" I whispered as I slowly got out of bed.
"Is someone there?" I asked as I began to head towards the door.
With my mind at a loss, I wondered if it just opened on it's on.
Gently pressing my hand onto it's surface I began to push it closed. The second the door clicked shut I panicked as I heard.
"Shhhh."
Widening my eyes at the voice, I lost all control over my body when all the sudden I was grabbed from behind. With one hand around my neck and the other on my mouth, I tried to scream for help while being dragged to the ground.
I couldn't even see my attacker. How did he even get in the room? I wondered as I sent my elbow into his side.
Losing his grip on my mouth I yelled.
"Ghost! Midnight!"
Instantly the kids woke up as someone else entered the room.
"What's going on? Mom?" Asked Ghost as him and his sister looked to find me on the ground.
Unable to fight back as my attacker now wrapped both arms around my neck, I began to feel lightheaded as the man who entered the room wasn't alone. There had to be three or four more. And with force they took control over my kids as they tried to fight back.
"Stupid kid." Mumbled one of the men as Ghost was sent to the floor with a direct punch to his face.
Midnight on the other hand was grabbed by the neck and with little force she passed out.
With the kids out of it, I knew it wasn't too long till I gave in. All I could wonder was where was everyone? It was hopeless to fight back any longer. I couldn't even scream for help.
Shutting my eyes slowly, I began to drift away. But before I could I mumbled.
"Rap...tor?"
Gorgon's POV, Pete's Storage.
Finding an out of the way storage warehouse near the edge of the city, I waited with Scrotus and the others. It wouldn't be long till we got the call. Just as I said that I looked to my side as my phone went off. Quickly I answered.
"Yeah?"
"We got them. We'll be on our way once we get a ride out of here."
"And Voltz?" I wondered as I looked around the room.
"We got his wife's cellphone. Once we're there and we got them nailed down we'll make the call."
"Good. Get here soon. I want this done before the morning."
"Yes sir." The man replied as I hung up to order.
"Get everything set up. Their on the way."
"You think this will work?" Asked Tusk as I nodded and replied.
"It has too. Voltz may be smart, but Linnen is right about this one. He won't risk his family. This war ends tonight. I promise you all that."
My men nodded as I stood up to order.
"Get going."
Nodding we all got to work. This had to be perfect. Can't fuck up now. I told myself as I now awaited our guests.
Raptor's POV, Two hours later.
Everything was going so well. The one night I thought I would be able to get some sleep.
"Ughhh." With my phone going off, I slowly said.
"I can't believe this shit."
Keeping my head in my pillow, I gently reached for my phone. Soon I felt it in the palm of my hand.
With my mind all fuzzy, I answered the call. With my head still in my pillow I mumbled.
"What?"
I expected it to be Archer. But everything went south when I suddenly heard from the other end of the phone.
"Raptor! Help!"
My eyes opened up immediately as I heard Alicia's voice.
"Alicia? What's wrong?" I asked in confusion as I tried to get out of bed.
"It's G.U.N! They have...!" Suddenly her voice was cut off.
"Alicia!" I shouted as I then heard from the other end.
"You there Voltz?" I knew that voice. It was Gorgon.
"Gorgon? What the hell is going on?! Where's my wife!?" I asked as I knew my voice would attract attention.
Slowly but surely Gorgon replied.
"Oh she's just sitting here with me. Hope you don't mind but I had to shut her up. She's really loud I'll have you know."
I felt anger deep in my heart coming up in flames. And with a loud tone I asked.
"What do you want?!"
"You know what I want Voltz. You wana see your wife and kids again you'll listen to what I have to say."
Instantly I felt my heart drop.
"My kids?"
Gorgon sensed my emotion and replied.
"You think I'd just take half the package? Say hi kiddo." I heard him urge as I suddenly heard Midnight shout.
"Daddy!"
"She's a loud one too. Seems like the boy is the only good one out of the bunch."
"What do you want?" I asked him with tears still calmly rolling down my cheeks.
"I want this to end. You want your wife and kids back? Here is the deal I offer you." My whole mind felt hopeless as he went on to say.
"You come alone. No one else. Once your here I want you to stand down and surrender yourself to me and my men. From there I'll let you see your wife and kids."
"You need to promise me they'll be safe." I told him as he quickly replied.
"You obey my commands from here on out and I promise they will be unharmed and released. But you will be taken to Pakistan. From there you will be held and put before a G.U.N court for your crimes. And from there you will surrender your fight against us for the middle east. The rebellion will stand down and that's final."
"Your asking me for something I can not do." I stated as he then urged.
"You ether do it or I'll gladly shoot them. I don't care Voltz. It's your choice. You have an hour. I'm at Pete's Storage. If you decide to do anything but what I asked, your wife and kids will die. No buts about it. You understand?"
With my body now shaking I replied in a cracked voice.
"ye...yes."
"Good. See you soon." Stated Gorgon as he hung up.
Lowering my phone, I tried to think. There had to be another way out of this. There had to be something I could do. But I knew if I tried anything Alicia and my kids could die. But I can't just surrender to that fucking asshole.
Standing up from my bed, I gently took hold of Shadow's M1911 from off the nightstand and tucked it behind my back.
Linnen had to be behind this. But how the hell did he get my family? They were in the capital. They had to be. There is no way he got in and grabbed them. It's impossible.
Part of me wanted to tell someone about this. But I didn't want to put Alicia in danger. Fuck!
Pacing back and forth, I soon realized I had no choice. Was my family worth this war? I wondered as I strapped on my vest to then head for the door. Opening it, I power walked my way into the hallway.
Going for the exit, I was soon spotted by the night guards. They saw my panicked condition as I approached and asked.
"Everything alright Commander?"
Nodding I replied.
"Yeah. I just need some fresh air."
I had no choice. I couldn't risk telling anyone. Sensing something was wrong in my voice, one of the men asked.
"You sure? You look agitated. Is something wrong?"
Smiling I replied.
"I'm fine. Trust me. I just need to go out for a bit is all."
"Well hold on, I'll have some of my men come and...?"
"No!" I shouted as him and his men widened their eyes at my sudden shouting. Now in a panic I said in a chuckling tone.
"I mean it's okay. I'll be fine. I'm just going for a drive around the block. I'll be back in like five minutes. No need for a guard to be looming over me."
"Are you sure?" Questioned the men as I nodded once more to reply.
"I'm sure. Sorry my mind is just everywhere right now. I've been really busy the last few days. Can I go?" I then asked as the men now hesitated. I don't know if they bought it, or if it was just a chain of command thing, but soon the leader replied.
"Just be careful. G.U.N is out this late. No need to cause anymore trouble."
"Got it." I replied as I quickly pushed by them and out the door. The men still looked at me like I was insane, but didn't dare stop me. I soon got in the nearest Humvee and made haste for the main road.
"I'm coming Alicia." I said to myself out loud as I drove as fast as I could.
With barely anyone on the road, I glanced off to my left as I drove by the cemetery. But refocusing, I tried to come up with any sort of plan. There had to be another way of doing this. There just had to be.
My mind couldn't think of anything however. I was so scared. I couldn't even fathom the idea of losing Alicia or the kids. I went through this once. But the first time I didn't have a choice. This time I do. But was it worth everything I vowed to obtain? I asked myself as I knew I was heading the right way the second I spotted a Humvee following me.
I was fucked. And they knew it. I had no choice. I had to surrender.
"GOD DAMN IT!" I screamed as I slammed my fist into the steering wheel.
Breathing heavily I continued to drive. But with every second passing, I grew more and more lost in my actions. I can't afford to lose anything else. Mason was right. I need to do what is best for my family. If giving up is what it takes to make sure their safe, then I have no choice.
With the location coming up soon, I tried to calm down. Gorgon will have a god damn field day with me soon enough. A man like him won't let me just surrender peacefully. I knew if I gave up I would probably die then and there. He won't let me get away in the hands of politicians and Linnen for killing Jagger and Ruby. Men like him just won't let guys like me get away with that. But again, I had no other options.
It's ether give up and die and hope he releases my family safely. Or...fight and hope I come out on top with Alicia and both my kids alive. But I knew I wasn't just fighting Gorgon. He had all his men with him and probably some backup. I would be gunned down the second I try anything that isn't what he asked.
I couldn't just give up. I'm going to die ether way tonight. Again I asked myself. Is it worth it?
That question roamed around my head as I saw the sign for Pete's Storage. Pulling up outside, I slowly got out of the Humvee to look around.
The Humvee that was following me had pulled up a few meters away. Quickly four men jumped out to with their rifles down to stare at me as I stood there. They were waiting to see what I would do. And as I glanced back at them I noticed they were all in rebellion gear. That explains how they got to my family. Fucking spies are everywhere. Even in the rebellion homeland of Afghanistan. I truly was fucked. Since the beginning I was set to fail. First at being a good soldier, then a good father. Now a leader. God damn if I wasn't a miserable excuse for a hero.
Looking away from the soldiers, I slowly began to approach the entrance to the warehouse. Once at the door I was greeted by a dark yellow wolf. He held a straight face as he said with a cocky tone.
"You really came, huh? Figured you would at least have brought Black with ya. I would have loved to have killed him."
"I'm not here to discuss anything with you. Take me to my wife and kids. Now!" I shouted at him as he began to slowly nod his head.
"Okay. I see your a little upset. I would be too if I was this fucked. But before we go anywhere I'm taking that gun of yours."
My eyes looked to my side as the M1911 was hanging out just enough for him to see. With anger in my voice I replied.
"Your not touching that gun."
Silence went over us as he then replied.
"Alright. Won't do you any good anyway. You try anything and you'll be dead before you even get the chance to pull the trigger." Stated the wolf as he slowly got behind me to order.
"Forward. Now."
Every bone in my body wanted to fight back, but I had no choice. With the men from outside now coming in behind us, I began to walk on towards the main complex of the warehouse. Once inside I spotted way more men then I expected to be here. There had to be twenty guys. All G.U.N. I even noticed a few men on a catwalk towards the back of the room as I approached to see my wife and kids who were all tied up and laying on the ground. Next to them, I spotted three more men. Everyone looked to me as I neared and with a smile the man in the center said.
"Well well well. So your the guy who's been giving me so much trouble. Raptor Voltz right? Commander of the rebellion? Glad your a real man and came alone like I asked. Now the question is, what will you do now?"
Growling as I now placed the voice to the body, I replied to the black hedgehog.
"It's not a question of what I will do Gorgon. It's what you'll do. Let me family go. You clearly won. There is no need to keep them in danger any longer."
I heard laughter among the men as Gorgon just smiled from where he was sitting. With a shake of his head I then asked.
"You think I don't know how this is going to end?"
Gorgon lost his smile as I went on.
"Linnen wants me alive. He can't afford to kill me until war is declared. So I bet he ordered you to take me back alive. Am I wrong?" I asked him as he remained silent.
"I can see it in your eyes. You want payback. I knew so many men like you. I killed your family and in return you have mine in the palm of your hands. And I know what happened between you and Linnen. I know everything about Lore."
Instantly Gorgon and his men widened their eyes.
"And I know despite that, you are aware that Linnen can't afford to lose you and your men ether. You have free will Gorgon to act as you see fit with no repercussions. That's why I know this conversation here will end when I'm dead on this very ground. I know who you are Gorgon. So do me one favor. Let my family go. After their gone from here you can do whatever it is you want to me. Cause in the end you won't hand me over. Not till you got your revenge for what I did to Ruby and Jagger."
With everyone staring at me, Gorgon slowly stood up from his seat to reply.
"Your right. I'm not going to hand you over to that cocksucker. Linnen can have the body." My eyes instantly widened as he drew his M9 and fired off a round.
"BANG!"
With no time to react the bullet hit me in the ankle.
"Aghhh!" Dropping to the ground I let out a growl. Gorgon stayed where he was as I carefully got back on my feet.
"Tough bastard. I'll give you that. And I'll be honest. You almost killed me with the trap you rigged using my friend's bodies. It was sadistic. I wasn't expecting it what so ever."
"Fuck you." I muttered back as he then chuckled to himself.
"You really think you know me Voltz? I'll have you know, you know nothing about anything. But I will let you in on a secret."
Everyone listened as Gorgon went on to state.
"Commander Lore was an asshole. Everyone in G.U.N knew it. Even Hecan Moore himself hated the guy. But you wana know the real reason he's dead? It's because he ordered me and my men to kill a village of innocent people. Supposedly the guy we were after was hiding among the villagers. We didn't have the time to be slow about it, so he just ordered the eradication of the entire place. I'm not the type of guy who hurts innocent people Voltz. It's not in my blood. Lore didn't care however and said if I disobeyed he would court marshal me and my men. Said he would go as far as to kill us himself. Well I wasn't taking any chances. That's why he's dead now. And Linnen knows the story too. We did the right thing. But we have no evidence. So all that could be proved is we killed Commander Lore."
With our eyes locked on one another, Gorgon looked to my wife and kids to say.
"The point of telling you that is so you understand what I'm willing to do to protect what I believe in. It's to help you see that my actions as a leader are justified."
As things were going on I didn't even notice my family was now awake. The gunshot must have woken them all up. Alicia cuddled by the kids as Gorgon eyed her down.
"One of the things I strongly believe in Voltz is an eye for an eye."
Smiling and looking back at me he asked.
"You know what that means?"
My heart began to race as he nodded his head.
"You killed Jagger and Ruby? I'm killing your wife."
"BANG!"
Every emotion I had. All the past arguments and fights I had gotten into with Alicia was tossed out the window the second Gorgon raised his gun at her and pulled the trigger. With my mind at the verge of breaking, I ran forward as the bullet entered Alicia's chest. Her eyes were wide open in utter shock as Gorgon backed up a few feet to watch as I grabbed her from behind, slowly lowering her into my lap.
"Alicia!" I screamed as blood came up and out of her mouth.
Tears began to pour down my face as she gurgled through the blood.
"Rap...tor?"
Gorgon and his men all stood silent as I tried to put pressure on the wound.
"Mommy!" Yelled Ghost as Midnight couldn't control her emotions. She could only cry as I felt Alicia's heart rate lowering.
"Baby just stay awake! Please for the love of god! Keep your eyes open!"
As I held her I felt her hand on my arm. Looking to it, I gently moved my left hand into hers. Looking back at her as she was now getting cold, I listened closely as she whispered.
"I'm sorry...for hitting you."
"Don't be! I was being an asshole like usual!"
Giving my hand a tight squeeze she went on to urge.
"Don't give up here Raptor. I couldn't see it till now...but this world needs you to stay...strong." Her voice was fading and with a shake of my head I begged.
"Don't do this to me Alicia! I can't lose another family!"
Smiling she replied.
"I'm sorry...take care of the...kids...and...?"
"And what?!" I asked in loss for words as she looked me in the eyes to reply.
"BANG!"
I felt my mind snap as a bullet was sent right into her head. Her body went limp in an instant and in disbelief I turned my head to see Gorgon giving me a small smile.
"Guess you'll never know." He said as I instantly went for my gun.
Before I could even touch it I heard.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Three solid rounds hit me in the chest as the men on the catwalk opened fire the second I tried to make a move.
"DAD!" Screamed Ghost as Midnight cried.
"Daddy!"
Shadow's M1911 was sent a good three feet from my hands, and in a thump I landed next to Alicia's body. Gorgon smiled as he now walked towards my gun. Kneeling down to pick it up he asked.
"How'd that feel?"
Blood slowly came out of my mouth as I could feel the rounds had gone right through the armor I was wearing.
Getting down next to me Gorgon wondered.
"You knew the second you tried anything you were going to die right?"
Spitting up blood onto his face I replied.
"Fuck you! You god damn son of a bitch!"
Wiping the blood off his face, I panicked as he then threw a straight jab into my nose. My head drilled the concrete floor so hard as he gently pulled away to say.
"You know...I was going to do this myself, but I have a better idea. Let's get this done before you bleed out. Ready?" He asked as he ordered the wolf behind me.
"Pick him up!"
Roughly going under my arms, the wolf sat me up.
"Hold him steady! I want him to do this!"
With this man holding me in place, I watched in utter confusion and pain as Gorgon handed the M1911 to me.
"Can't have the kids all alone. What you say you hand deliver them to the wife? Sound good?"
Shaking my head instantly I begged.
"Stop!"
Now getting next to the arm that held the gun, I widened my eyes as Gorgon put his finger on top of mine to reply.
"Come on it's easy. Just point and...?"
I couldn't do anything. The wolf held me back from moving and with Gorgon in control of my arm, I was forced to watch as he aimed it at Ghost who was unable to move.
"STOP! PLEASE! GHOST!" I screamed as loud as I could, as Gorgon went on to squeeze on my finger.
"….SHOOT!"
"BANG!"
