Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 91 – Now It's Time I Said Goodbye.
Marx's POV, Iraq Capital, Medical Bay.
Everything went down. Raptor's vitals, his pulse, his condition, everything turned off. What the fuck was going on? I asked as I saw Archer making his way back into the room. With him in a panic I asked.
"What did Mason say?"
Looking to me he replied.
"Raptor isn't there! No one has a fucking clue where he is!"
Now with my heart racing even more I panicked as I saw something come up on Raptor's status screen. Every bone in my body went numb as it read only one word.
"Deceased."
Archer stared at me in confusion as I mumbled.
"What? No. No it can't be."
Coming over, Archer looked to see what was going on. In almost a heartbeat did he shout.
"That's it! I'm heading down there!"
Grabbing him by the arm I replied.
"No you can't!"
"Why not!? Are you reading that shit!? I can't just sit here and...!?"
"IT'S A MISTAKE!" I screamed as Archer widened his eyes to see me tearing up.
"It has to be." I mumbled as I looked back at the computer to see Raptor's vitals unchanged.
Black's POV, Pete's Storage, Thirty Minutes Later.
"There!" Shouted Leo as we finally found the missing Humvee. Pulling up alongside it I noticed no one around.
"What the hell is it here for?" I asked around my men as we got out to look towards a large warehouse.
"He has to be inside." Stated Gabe as I nodded and replied.
"We can't take any chances. Watch your corners and your fire."
"Why would he come here?" Asked Leo as I shook my head and replied.
"I don't know. Come on."
Leading the way towards the front door, I found it left opened. Slowly I pushed it open and gave the order with my hand for my men to move in behind me. After clearing the first room, we found out the warehouse only lead one way. Towards the main storage area. Two large doors separated us from it.
"Stack up." I ordered as I got in front of the door.
With Leo, Tap, and Gabe lining up around the sides, I took a breath and ordered with a shout.
"Go!"
Sending my boot into the door, I kicked through and pushed in to aim my rifle dead ahead. The second my eyes saw what was in front of me however, I lowered my gun and widened my eyes.
"Oh my god." I muttered as none of my men could muster a word.
No more then twenty feet in front of me were the bodies of Raptor and his family. Struggling to move my legs I slowly approached the scene. As I came close I began to try and put together what could have happened to cause this. But I couldn't think of anything that could have led to this. Alicia was dead. Both of the kids were dead. And Raptor...?
Stopping over his body, I got down on my knees to stare at his face.
Blood was everywhere.
"Commander?" I said in utter loss for words.
As my eyes focused on his face, I noticed a bullet hole pressed along the left side of his forehead. Every fiber of my being wanted him to respond. But as I stood there now I knew I was asking for a miracle.
Leo who was just as shocked, quickly coming over to get down himself. Placing his hand on Raptor's neck he looked at me. Our eyes locked and with not a word said he shut his eyes to look away.
I couldn't even explain what I felt next, but with a solid punch to the ground I shouted.
"GOD DAMN IT!"
Leo gently let Raptor go and with Gabe and Tap getting behind me I asked.
"What the fuck happened?!"
There wasn't a soul around that could answer that question. And with silence the only thing around I soon felt Leo place his hand on my shoulder. Looking into his eyes again, he asked.
"What do we do now?"
I wanted to kill whoever did this. But with no way of knowing who or what caused this, I replied.
"I don't know."
"Should we call it in?" Wondered Tap as I slowly began to nod.
"Yeah...?" My men knew I was upset. They were upset for fucks sake. Raptor was the only person left that the middle east had. That the rebellion had. That the war had. He was the only one left who could change things. What the fuck do we do now? I asked myself as slowly reached for my comm link.
With everyone watching I went to comm to say.
Hunter's POV.
Mason had woken me up. He said Raptor was missing and I needed to help find him. Driving around the city looking for one man was near impossible. But I had to find him.
As I drove around looking every direction, I panicked and stopped the car as Black's voice came through my comm.
"I found the Commander." His voice was low and slow and in fear I felt my heart race as Mason came back to reply.
"Where? What's his status?"
Time seemed to have stopped as Black replied.
"He's...he's dead sir. The Commander is dead."
My heart shattered into pieces as Mason questioned in a shocked tone.
"What? He's...?!" Black cut him off to state again.
H"e's dead. Someone killed him. Him and his family. I'm sitting here in the blood."
"Stop Black!" I ordered him out of sadness as he went silent on his end of the comm.
I'm sorry. He soon replied as Mason asked in anger.
"Where are you?!"
"A warehouse on the east end of the city."
"I'm on my way now! You secure the area and wait for me, you hear!?"
"Yes sir." Replied Black as I began to make my way in that direction. My heart and soul didn't want to believe it. I had to see it for myself. I just had too.
Black's POV, Ten Minutes later.
I didn't dare move the bodies. I could only sit here and stare at the Commander and his lifeless body. Leo was moving around everywhere in hopes he would discover something about what happened here. But whatever it was got away. I knew and I'm afraid even he knew it.
With not even an emotion among me, I looked to the entrance as I spotted Hunter. She came sprinting in and as her eyes saw the scene did I watch as she immediately dropped to the floor in tears.
"God damn it." I mumbled. She shouldn't have come.
Very slowly making her way back to her feet, Gabe was soon alongside her to urge.
"Don't."
Pushing him away, Hunter came over to where I was sitting to look for herself. Her tears landed alongside my boots, as she looked into Raptor's face to cry harder. As the sound of silence was soon taken up by her crying, I looked back to the entrance to spot Mason and some men coming in behind him. Everyone came to where we were to look at the bodies.
Mason was even shedding tears as he looked to Raptor to ask.
"What the fuck happened!?"
I couldn't respond, but Leo who was the most collected replied.
"We don't know. We got here and this was all we found. Not another soul in sight."
Mason who was shaking immediately looked to me to shout.
"It had to be G.U.N! There isn't another explanation!"
"We have no proof." I replied as he shouted back.
"Look at him! He was killed! The kids were killed! Alicia was killed!"
Hunter could barely control herself at this point as she place her hand on Raptor's face. His head moved to the side she was on as she asked.
"Why wouldn't you tell someone? Why go out alone? Why Raptor?"
With her continuing to talk to him, I looked back to Mason who yelled.
"I checked in with the night guards before I got here! No one saw Alicia or the kids leave the capital! And I tried to check in with the last group who was in charge of the night watch and no one from the group can be found! They had to have taken them! There isn't another way this could have happened! G.U.N had to be behind this!"
"Check the cameras." I urged him in sadness as he nodded and replied.
"I fucking will! I'm going to expose them for this! And when I do we're going to war!"
"How do we do that without him!?" Asked Hunter as everyone looked to her.
"We can't do this without Raptor Mason! We just can't!"
Mason went silent. Even he knew it was true. Raptor WAS the rebellion. With him gone we had little to no chance.
With Mason now at a crossroads, Gabe pointed out as he stood alongside Hunter.
"Someone took his tags. Look. There gone."
Glancing to Raptor's neck I saw he was right. Someone took his dog tags.
"Proof of kill?" Wondered Tap as I nodded.
"Likely."
"It's Linnen Black." Stated Mason as I looked back to him.
"It has to be."
I couldn't find the words to respond anymore. I had no way of knowing for sure. Mason was probably right, but without proof we can't do shit. If there is something on the cameras then we'll find out. But until then this is a mystery. A fucking horrible mystery.
"What about Iraq?" Wondered Leo as Mason tried to calm down. After a few moments he replied.
"I need to call Archer. Tell him G.U.N killed his best friend. We'll figure it all out later."
"What about the bodies?" I asked as everyone looked to Mason for an answer.
With tears rolling down his cheeks he replied.
"We...we get them back to Iraq. Raptor would want that. He always said if he died he wanted to be buried in the sand."
Everyone lowered their heads as we continued to stare at Raptor's motionless body. His eyes were shut and with a gentle placement of my hand on her back, Hunter turned to me as I said.
"I'm sorry."
Hunter had to be the most heart broken over this. I could see it in her eyes as she continued to cry. After staring at me for a few seconds, she broke down again but this time into my arms. I now held her as I continued to stare at Raptor. Mason on the other hand got out his phone. He had to be making the call to Iraq. We all listened as it was clear this war was over as of tonight.
Archer's POV.
I paced alongside Marx as we waited for a call from Mason.
"It has to be a mistake." Stated Marx again as I ordered.
"Can you shut the fuck up Marx? I know it's a mistake."
Marx lowered his head back down as I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. Marx instantly looked up at me as I answered.
"Archer here!"
"It's Mason." Mason's voice was new. It was low and I could sense an immediate problem with his tone as he said it.
"Did you find him Mason?" I asked in an unsure tone as he slowly replied.
"Archer he's...?"
"Mason?" I replied in confusion as he then said.
"I'm sorry Archer."
Marx could hear Mason and with wide eyes he looked to me as I replied.
"What do you mean? Mason? Where is Raptor?"
Mason didn't respond as I shouted.
"Mason!"
"He's dead Archer. Him, Alicia, and the kids. Their all gone. I'm sorry."
My body went numb and dropping the phone I heard before it hit the ground.
"Archer?"
"No...?" I muttered while feeling mixed emotions coming up from my heart.
Marx slowly stood up to say.
"Archer? What happened? Where's Raptor?"
Tears calmly pushed through my eyes as I looked to Marx to reply.
"He's really dead. Raptor he...? He's...?"
"No." Replied Marx as he picked up my phone.
Marx's POV.
My hand was shaking as I picked up the phone to shout.
"Mason it's Marx! What happened!? Where's Raptor?!"
With Archer lost in his emotion, I got back from Mason.
"We don't know yet. All we have to go on is that sometime during the night Alicia and the kids were taken from the Capital here. Raptor must have gone after them the second he found out and out of his haste he didn't tell anyone about the situation. He even went as far as to tell the night watch he was just going out for a drive. I don't know Marx." My body went still as Archer was now breaking down.
"Black and his men found them. Alicia and the kids were shot dead and Raptor was executed from what it looks like. It had to be G.U.N. It just had to be Marx. I'm going to find out. You have my word."
"But Raptor...?" I tried to say more but I was starting to shudder my speech from the sheer shock of everything. Mason who sounded just as sad soon said from his end.
"I'm going to find out who did this Marx. I'll have Raptor and his family transported to Iraq as soon as I can you have my word."
"But Mason? What happens now? We can't fight G.U.N without a leader. Raptor...he was the only one who could handle everything. What do we do now? Give up?" I asked as he quickly replied.
"No! That's what they want us to do!"
"But Mason...!" Cutting me off Mason shouted.
"It's not what he would want!"
I went silent as Mason went on to urge.
"Tell Archer he's taking over for Iraq. If it was G.U.N then Linnen will strike soon to retake the city from us the second he finds out about the Commander."
"Mason please." I begged as he ordered.
"We are not giving up! You tell him now Marx!"
Looking to Archer who was trying to calm down, I urged.
"You tell him." Turning the phone on speaker, Mason shouted.
"Major!?"
"Ye...yeah?" Mumbled Archer as he turned to look at the phone.
"We are not giving up just cause Raptor is gone. You hear me?"Yes sir. Replied Archer as I widened my eyes.
"Your in charge over there Archer. You know just as well as I do that Linnen will try to retake the city. You hold him back and show him just cause Raptor is gone, we are not. You understand?"
Nodding Archer replied.
"I got it. I won't let you down."
"Black and the others will be coming back tonight with the bodies of Raptor and his family. You know what to do right?" He asked as Archer wiped his eyes to reply.
"I remember."
"Good. See to it he gets a proper burial. I'll be down to pay my respect after things calm down with Linnen. Till then you hold the rebellion Archer! Don't give up now!"
"I won't." He replied as I heard Mason let out a sigh. After a second he replied.
"Good. I'll call you back when I have proof G.U.N did this."
"Alright." Replied Archer who was just as lost as me now.
With Mason hanging up, I looked to Archer to ask.
"Are you crazy?" Looking into my eyes he replied.
"I don't want to just give up Marx. As long as we're alive G.U.N will not take what we hold dear away from us again. Raptor taught us that much."
Lowering my head I handed him back the phone and went back to my seat. I couldn't think. This was all so sudden and I never dreamed Raptor would be killed. Especially Alicia and the kids. Who would do that? Who would go out of their way to kill off the whole bloodline?
With my emotion at an all time low, I looked back to see Archer crying again. This time he let it all out as he tossed one of the nearby medical tables. I could only cry along as everything seemed so lost now.
mT Shadow.
