Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 92 – For It Might Be The End.
Marx's POV, Later that night.
Damage control was underway. Not everyone was aware of what happened in Afghanistan. And I'm afraid when the truth comes to light we won't be able to hold back the questions to come. Hell I'm not even sure if we can hold back G.U.N. Archer will try but it is most likely a lost cause.
Black and his men left me with them. Hunter was hiding in her room and I couldn't do my job. I never wanted to see this happen. I never wanted to do this to a friend.
Raptor laid in front of me. Alicia and the kids were bagged and I just stood here with a wet towel stalling. Blood covered him. His face was expressionless and void of life. Bullet hole in his right ankle, three in his chest cavity, and one large gash on the side of his forehead from another. The bullets in his chest were lodged in him at least two inches deep. Blood loss after did the rest. God I can't imagine the pain he went through.
Slowly placing the towel on his forehead I very gently dragged it towards the wound to try and get some of the blood off. I stared at his eyes as I did it and as soon as the towel hit the gash I felt my heart skip a beat as his eyes opened and he lifted his right hand to grab me by my wrist.
"Aghhhhh!" He screamed as I was pulled with a gust of power. Dropping the towel in sheer panic. I grabbed onto his shoulder to shout.
"Oh my god! Raptor!?"
In such anger he shouted.
"I'm going to kill you! You fucking son of a bitch!"
Not letting go of my wrist I panicked and begged.
"Raptor calm down! I need you to breathe! Please!"
One second our eyes locked and immediately he released his grip and fell back down to table under him. His eyes rolled as I was now in a panic. Grabbing onto one of the nearby ivs. I begged him in tears of shock.
"Please stay awake! For the love of god don't close your eyes!"
It was clear he was fading again. His head wobbled from side to side and with a broken voice he asked as I got the needle into his arm.
"Marx?"
Nodding I replied.
"It's okay Raptor! I got ya now! Stay awake!" I begged him as I felt his hand graze my leg.
Grabbing onto my pants he looked over into my eyes to cry.
"Alicia!? Ghost!? Midnight!?"
Looking into his pale eyes I replied.
"I'm so sorry Raptor!"
Letting his hand go he looked back at the ceiling to begin shutting his eyes again.
"Please stay awake! Please!"
He struggled to not fade away again. As fast as I could I dragged my surgical cart to my side and grabbed onto a nearby sedative. Placing my hand on his chest I whispered in utter fear he would leave me again.
"I need to get the bullets out of you. It's going to hurt okay?"
His eyes flickered to me and very slowly he nodded his head once. With a small and fast smile I gave him the needle. After which he barely kept his eyes open at all.
"Talk to me Raptor. I need to know your with me." I stated as he slowly asked.
"Where's...Gorgon?"
Not knowing the answer I replied while getting my scalpel.
"I don't know. You were alone when they found you. Was he behind what happened to you?"
Without a movement he replied.
"He took my family Marx...he...he took them away from me. For nothing."
Tears ran down my eyes as I began to open the area around the first bullet.
"Can you feel anything Raptor?" I asked as he just said back.
"He made me shoot Ghost...?"
I couldn't respond to that. What kind of man would make someone do that kind of thing?
"I...shot him...and Midnght...Marx?"
"I'm here Raptor. I am. Just breathe for me. Your safe now."
"Linnen...I need to stop...?" Despite his condition Raptor actually push himself up a few inches off the table. As gently as I could I kept him down and begged.
"Raptor I need you to relax. You can't move right now. Otherwise I can't help you. And in your condition I don't know the extent of the damage. You took a bullet to the head."
"Marx...please." He begged back as I shook my head and place hand back down on his shoulder.
"I cant do anything Raptor if you fight me right now. Archer is out there right now defending against Linnen. Everything is under control. I need you to trust me and the others that nothing will happen." Raptor grabbed back onto my leg and asked.
"Am I dead?"
Smiling I replied.
"No. You're alive. You're alive somehow and right now we got you back home in Iraq. Your in the capital. Your safe."
I heard him take a long breathe and once it was out of him he asked.
"Where's my family?"
Falling silent I saw his head turn to the other side of the room to see the three body bags.
"I'm so sorry Raptor. We thought you were dead as well. Everyone thinks your dead right now. I was just about clean you up when you came through."
Slowly he began to cry. It started out really light and it managed to stay that way. He had no energy to extend his emotions further. I cried with him as I got the first bullet out of his chest. Placing the round next to me on the tray I went right after the second bullet. Raptor now had his eyes shut but he was still with me. That's what matters right now. It was a miracle this even happened. How does he survive this torture? I wondered as I felt a breeze of cool air his my next. Looking to the only door in the room I saw it was locked and closed. Refocusing I went back to working on Raptor's trauma. With his head turning to me again I made contact with his eyes. It was as if he was looking behind me.
Raptor's POV.
Our eyes locked. A pure black fox with dark almost pitch black eyes. Death stared at me over Marx's shoulder. A smile on his face as I just stared back at him in a loss for words.
Gently he whispered.
"How's this one feel?"
My mind fell silent as he just stared at my reaction. Part of me was familiar with this emotion I was feeling. His voice was cagy and in a way my own. But taking a moment to blink, I reopened my eyes to see him gone from behind Marx. Suddenly in my head I heard.
"I told you this would happen. This time I will not let you forget. No second chances."
Marx got the second bullet out as the voice went on to say.
"Maybe this time you'll embrace the truth. And maybe this time you'll listen."
All I could hear was his voice. But slowly it faded off and I heard Marx say.
"One more Raptor. Are you still with me?"
Looking back to him I asked.
"Did you hear that?"
Marx stopped what he was doing to try and listen. After a few silent seconds he replied.
"No."
Shutting my eyes I felt my head go light.
Marx's POV.
"Raptor?" I said in concern as I saw his head go limp.
Looking at his vitals I saw he was steady. He just passed out. Thank god.
Letting out a long sigh of relief as I got the last bullet out. I began to stitch together his wounds one at a time. After that I focused on his ankle and got the damage under control as well. Once I was confident I went back to his head. The gash was going to be nothing more then a nasty scar in time. But other then that I think I actually managed to save him.
Falling down to the floor under my feet. I looked to my hands to smile.
"He's alive...?"
Letting out a burst of laughter I looked towards the door and crawled my way back to my feet.
Undoing the lock I went outside the room to look around. I had to tell someone. I had to find everyone.
Unable to control my emotions however I shouted.
"YES!"
A few of the nurses stopped to look at me as laughed out loud and tried to catch my breath.
Hitting the nearby wall in utter joy with my palm I took off for the lobby. The path to Raptor's office was empty but the door was opened. Archer was inside with Black and upon approach Archer took notice to the blood on my hands. Standing up out of the seat he was in he looked with Black next to him to mutter.
"Marx? What's wrong?"
Stopping at the door I smiled and chuckled out loud.
"He's alive...heheheeehehe...he's alive Archer!"
Both him and Black widened their eyes as I continued to laugh in excitement.
The guards alongside me both lowered their guns as Black questioned in utter disbelief.
"What did you say?"
Nodding my head I replied.
"Raptor's okay. He came through."
Immediately Archer and Black turned into a sprint out of the office. The ran for the medical bay as I started to cry slowly. The guards next to me asked in confusion.
"The commander's alive?"
"Yes." I replied as I took my chance to run for Hunter's room.
Inside I found her sitting on her bed in dry tears.
"Hunter!" I shouted as she looked up to see my clear signs of happiness.
"He's okay. He's okay now."
"What?" She asked in a loss for words as I nodded my head to reply.
"He's alive. Raptor is alive."
Her tears instantly began to come back but at the same time she ran by me and ran for the same place the others did. In a matter of seconds I went back to see them in the room all alongside his table. He was out cold but they saw he was breathing. Archer was lost for words as Black was down on one knee in disbelief of the miracle in front of our eyes. Hunter on the other hand had her eyes focused on mine and asked.
"When?"
The three of them looked to me as I replied still in happiness.
"When I went to get him cleaned up. He woke screaming at me. He was somewhere else mentally but he came back to reality in a matter of seconds. He calmed down and I put him under. I had to get the bullets out of him and thankfully he managed to stay awake the whole time. He just passed out the second I got done. I have him stable."
"Marx?" Said Archer in shock as I smiled and muttered.
"He'll live."
Immediately Hunter jumped into my arms with the tightest hug ever and cried.
"Thank you so much!"
With Archer also smiling, Black got back on his feet to state.
"He should be dead. How? He was dead."
Nodding I replied.
"I don't know how. It's a miracle."
With moments passing and Hunter still hugging me, Archer ordered.
"Black go inform the troops of the news please. I need a moment to collect myself."
"Got it." He replied as he turned to leave the room.
"I can't thank you enough Marx." Stated Archer as I just smiled and looked down to Hunter who had her head buried in my coat.
"Go call Mason. He needs to know." I urged as Archer nodded and grabbed onto my shoulder to reply.
"Thank you."
Walking out of the room I whispered to Hunter.
"I need to move him to a normal room."
"His bed?" Wondered Hunter as I nodded.
"I'll need to set up an iv for him but we can do that. Will you help me?"
Letting me go she replied.
"Of course."
"Then grab the other end of the table and lets go. We need to make sure he keeps breathing."
It was nothing other then a miracle this happened. He was dead like Black said. I knew and he knew it. How on earth did he pull through this? I wondered as we began to roll him out of the room. Everyone around began to notice what was going on and in joy I stated.
"He's alive."
Celebrations were sure to occur in a matter of minutes across all of the middle east. And at this very moment nothing else matter. I only had one concern however.
What will happen when he wakes up next? How deep did this go in his head? Will he even be the same?
Time will tell and for right now my only concern was keeping him alive. I'll leave everything else to Archer.
mT Shadow.
