Yoshi's Stolen Snickers
Yoshi, Rex, Sumo Bro, Wiggler, Koopa Troopas, Dino-Torches, Thwomps and the Mario Bros belong to Nintendo.
One gloomy night at Dinosaur Land, Rex's gang were sitting around a campfire, talking about the misery they lived in.
"Geez… look at us." Rex said. "Without a single coin."
"And still, the Mario Bros stomp us all the time." Wiggler said.
"Not to mention our shoes are now very old!" Sumo Bro said. "Mine are wearing out because I have to stomp over and over to drop lightning at the Mario Bros."
"Mine are wearing out because I walk all the time." Wiggler said. "Besides, I have 4 pairs of shoes! I'd have to spend a lot of coins to repair them or buy other 4 pairs."
"Yeah, I know." Rex said. "And look at Yoshi, his snickers seem to last forever! I wonder how much would they cost…"
Suddenly, they all had an idea. They headed to Yoshi's House. He was sleeping, so they quietly took his pair of snickers and sneaked out of the house.
Next morning, Yoshi woke up, but a soon as he was preparing to step off the bed, he felt a very cold floor under his feet. He looked for his snickers all over his house, but they were nowhere to be found. So Yoshi had no other option than going outside barefoot. Soon, he noticed a new building in the land. There was a long queue of Dinosaur Land's inhabitants waiting for them to enter, and the building had a huge signboard that read:
"New Rex Shoes! High endurance guaranteed. Each pair just for 50 coins."
Yoshi thought there was something suspicious, so, sneaking in the queue, he entered the building. Inside, he found a huge factory with Koopa Troopa employees handling lots of mechanisms to manufacture Rex Shoes, which were later sold to the customers. Yoshi realized the owners of the building were Rex, Sumo Bro and Wiggler, who were on the highest floor. But that wasn't it. He also noticed they had his snickers inside a crystal case. They were using them as a base for their shoes!
To get his snickers back, Yoshi had to climb up ladders in the first floor. From the top of the factory, Rex noticed Yoshi was trying to stop them, so he commanded Wiggler, Sumo Bro and the Koopa employees to attack him.
"I won't let this green overgrown lizard to foil our plan! We didn't start this business for nothing! Get him, guys!" he said.
Wiggler ran down the ladders, heading toward Yoshi, while the Koopas on the sides took off their shells and hurled them at him. Yoshi just gobbled up a Green Shell using his long tongue, and then spat it out, knocking Wiggler down. He repeated this with the other Koopas and defeated them.
Next, Yoshi got to the second floor, filled with conveyor belts. The conveyor belts moved back and forth. Sometimes, they almost dropped Yoshi into the flaming mouths of Dino-Torches! So he had to run to the opposite direction the conveyor belts headed in order to be safe. Meanwhile, Sumo Bro, who was on an upper floor, stomped on the ground, dropping a lightning that created fire columns once it hit the floor. Yoshi made sure he stood away from them, while still running on the conveyor belts and climbing more ladders. More Koopas attacked Yoshi by throwing their shells at him. He avoided them, then gobbled up a Red Shell and spat flames at the Koopas, defeating them. When Yoshi got to the floor where Sumo Bro was standing on, he gobbled up a nearby watermelon.
"Hey, that's my lunch!" Sumo Bro said.
After eating the watermelon, Yoshi spat its seeds at Sumo Bro, knocking him down.
Then, Yoshi moved on to the next floor. There, were more ladders, but mainly Thwomps that threatened Yoshi by falling from the roof and crushing him! Yoshi waited patiently for the Thwomps to fall, then quickly ran past them as they rose back to the roof. Half way, a Koopa attacked Yoshi, tossing a Blue Shell at Yoshi, but he easily gobbled it up. Then, something strange happened. Yoshi hatched an egg! As Yoshi kept going, he apparently got careless, because he didn't notice that one last Thwomp was about to fall on him! When he found out, it was too late, and Yoshi was squashed by the Thwomp. Rex, who was watching from the top floor, said:
"Yes! Yoshi is gone! That means we win!"
However, the egg Yoshi had hatched broke, and Yoshi came out of it! It wasn't just any Yoshi egg. It was a Checkpoint Egg, that allowed Yoshi to teleport to the egg's location after being defeated.
"What? That's impossible!" Rex said.
Then Yoshi kept climbing ladders until he arrived to the fourth and final floor. Rex was waiting for him, standing next to a couple of buttons.
"I congratulate you for making it this far, Yoshi. However, your game ends here! Now, you must face me, Rex, leader of my gang and master of this factory!"
He pushed a button, and lots of Koopas appeared, throwing their shells at Yoshi. But he knew what to do. He used all of the skills he had used in the previous floors in order to defeat them. Then, Yoshi noticed six orange glowing buttons scattered across the zone. Yoshi wondered what would happen if he pressed them all. So he headed to press them one by one.
"No, NO!" Rex said. "You can't do this!"
He pushed the second button, and lots of tools and scrap metal fell from the roof. Yoshi gobbled up a Yellow Shell from a Koopa and gained invincibility! This way, he could walk without the falling objects hurting him! Soon, Yoshi's invincibility wore off. But he wasn't afraid. He kept climbing ladders, defeating enemies and pressing buttons until he arrived to the last one.
"NOOOOOO!" Rex yelled as Yoshi pressed the last button.
A voice coming from a speaker said:
"Warning. Self-destruct sequence activated. Evacuate the building immediately."
Yoshi hurried to leave the building, but first, he retrieved his snickers and put them on. However, he saw Rex throwing a tantrum because of his defeat. He couldn't just leave him there. Sure, he stole his snickers, but if there is one thing Yoshis are very known for, is for their kindness. So he had no other option than gobbling him up and storing him in an egg so both could escape. All employees and customers also left the factory. Floor by floor, the building came down with lots of booms. Once everyone was outside, safe and sound, Wiggler said:
"Oh, no! Look at our factory!"
"Where are all the coins we earned?" Sumo Bro asked.
"Um, I think they were in the safe… that was inside of the building."
"Oh, no! We forgot to get them out, too!"
"And the rest of the Rex Shoes were surely destroyed!"
The egg where Rex was trapped in hatched, and he came out of it with the upper half of his body sunk, because he didn't fully fit in the egg.
"A little help, please?" Rex said.
Sumo Bro picked him up and squeezed him so the upper half of Rex's body could come out.
"Thanks, Sumo Bro."
"You're welcome."
"Our factory… Our shoes… Our coins… It's all gone! Now, how are we going to get another job so we can leave our lives of neediness?"
Yoshi thought for a moment, then had an idea. He went home and crafted six pairs of new snickers like his for Rex and his gang. Yoshi also decided to start a shoe shop along with Rex, Wiggler and Sumo Bro so that they could earn lots of coins. Finally, Rex's gang had enough coins to have a better life, while Yoshi had enough coins for whatever he wanted! He started by going to the nearest bakery to buy some Yoshi Cookies. And everyone lived happily ever after.
