EDIT (9/14/20): Made some changes to story. :P
Today was Friday, the month of June. And it is only four more weeks until July rolls in. It was the month of March when the world slowly shut down because of a viral pandemic. Except first responders, seasoned pro heroes, and those in the profession of police, medic, and fire were vital in keeping the country running. U.A. High - as well as all schools in the country - had closed its doors. For U.A. specifically, they had evacuated the dorms, sending all its students home and all future classes were done online. Normally not a problem. But for one student of Class 2-A, Ochako Uraraka had learned that her old apartment she rented from before the dorm system was set in place was under quarantine. To make things more worrying for the sixteen year old girl, her father had tested positive for the virus and she is not allowed to return to her home in Mie Prefecture. However, thanks to the sheer kindness of her best friend Izuku Midoriya, he talked his mom into allowing her to stay with him and his mother during this troubling time plaguing the world. It was a bit awkward at first the first few days, but eventually things had settled in with an additional person living under their roof, with Ochako sleeping in the guest bedroom.
"Hey, dinner's almost ready, Ochako," Izuku called out to the brunette.
Ochako looks up from the shared laptop. Both teens were sitting in the kitchen, her at the edge of the kitchen counter far from the stove. It was currently close to six PM, and today's online school session had long since ended. Though Class 2-A stayed connected to chat, many had logged off to be with family.
"Okay, Izuku." She looks back down to face the built-in webcam. "Sorry, you were saying Yaomomo?"
Momo just chuckled in amusement. "I will never get used to hearing you two refer to each other by your first names," she says with a smile.
"Well, Izuku and his mom willingly allowed me to stay with them while this stupid virus has a grip on the world since I couldn't go back to my old apartment and dad tested positive for the virus." She smiled. "It was really fun, even though I kinda miss hanging out with everyone at the dorms."
"Well, no one expected a pandemic to basically shut down the world. The last time such a viral pandemic event happened was back in the year 2020. That was so many years ago, long before any of us were born."
Ochako was wearing a simple pink t-shirt and navy shorts with her house slippers. Looking over to Izuku who was slaving away at the stove, the young man was wearing his pajama pants (which he never took off since waking up in the morning) and a green t-shirt that reads shirt on the front in kanji, and his house slippers. He wore an All Might-themed apron.
"So, what's Midoriya making tonight?" Momo asked.
"He wouldn't say, but he said it'll be different from your typical Japanese dinner. Whatever it is, I'm so going to enjoy it."
Momo giggled.
"I say he's spoiled you a bit with his kitchen skills, girl," she teased.
"I've always wanted to make food in the dorms but I always get beat in the kitchen by someone else, mostly Sato," Izuku called out from his place in the kitchen.
"Then next time if things finally get back to normal and this virus goes away for good, you're going to treat us to dinner, Midoriya," said Momo.
"Deal."
Ochako giggles.
"Well, I'm going to log off. Have a good night, you two."
"Good night, Yaoyorozu."
"Night, Yaomomo."
Momo logged off, thus the group webcam chat is now one black screen. Ochako logs off the group chat, bringing up the main screen which its background displays a group picture of Class A during the Christmas party. In the photo Izuku and Ochako were sitting next to each other, looking very happy.
Ten minutes later, Izuku and Ochako are sitting in the living room using the coffee table as their eating table, the TV on and playing a anime movie of Ochako's choosing: Cowboy Bebop the Movie. Izuku had made filet mignon with a rich balsamic glaze, served with a side of seasons vegetables (green beans, corn, and carrots) and diced garlic buttered seasoned potatoes (skins left on). There's also an additional side of simple egg fried rice seasoned with black pepper, and for drinks was iced tea. It was a very delicious meal.
"I am so lucky I get to have your home cooking everyday, Izuku."
Izuku laughed. He was happy Ochako enjoyed his food.
"Thank mom because when I wasn't obsessive over pro heroes and their quirks, I watch mom in the kitchen. I learned everything culinary from her."
They were sitting very close.
"So, Izuku, when will mama Inko be home from work?"
Inko was a nurse, so she was always away from home working at the local hospital. She's often home long after the teens go to sleep, so Izuku always made sure to prepare her a plate of food she can reheat in the microwave and enjoy.
"Usual time, I'm certain. Thank god she's still healthy and virus-free. I wouldn't even know what to do if something happened to her."
Ochako puts an arm around Izuku in a comforting embrace. She could relate. Even though her father had survived the viral infection and was one of many who donated their plasma for antibody vaccine research, Ochako still wanted to stay at the Midoriya house. Mainly because by the time April rolled around and Class 1-A became Class 2-A, Izuku and Ochako had straight up admit their love for one another. Not because of fears that the virus could be contracted and they may die because of the virus, but over the fact that the past year since meeting at the U.A. Entrance Exams and the start of their high school first year, they had a crush on one another that slowly transformed into true admiration and love. The love between them was also built on how each had always inspired the other into doing all they can as heroes in training. Thankfully thus far they have kept themselves safe and healthy, following CDC guidelines, as they started their romantic relationship.
"Your mom is a strong woman. She won't let something like this do her in."
She kissed his cheek.
Izuku started to smile. Ochako always had a way to calm his nerves.
"Say, how long do you want to keep our romantic relationship a secret from the rest of our class?" he asks.
Ochako gave a half-shrug. "Until one of them ask us if we're dating?"
Izuku smirked.
"So, basically everybody confronting us?"
"Yup."
They shared a long kiss.
Five minutes pass when Izuku poked Ochako in the side, getting her to squeak in surprise.
"Izu!"
He grins. "Sorry, just wanted to get your attention."
"Well, you got it. What is it?"
"Wanna do it?" he asked with a completely straight face.
She blinked. Then she poked him on the nose.
"You pervert."
Good thing she always kept a condom or two on her at all times...
