Adrien exited his Sedan with a heavy weight on his shoulders. He was glad he had been with Marinette the night before, even though he did not know the identity of the guy she wanted to confess to, he also knew that she was having doubts. This gave him hope for his own prospects in his pursuit of the raven haired beauty.

The blonde walked into the locker room with his bag slung over his shoulder. He expected to see Kagami, but he found a note taped to his locker in Kagami's handwriting instead. Opening the note, he read the few words on the paper inside.

'Meet me at the park by Marinette's bakery.

Kagami'

Adrien deflated as Plagg emerged from his pocket.

"She must have wanted an early morning date with you kid." Plagg surmised with a sigh. "After how last night went I am surprised."

Adrien scowled before looking off to the side, opening up his locker and placing his bag within. "I bet she wants to have breakfast at the bakery too."

Plagg perked up, "whatever happens, don't forget my cheese puffs."

Adrien rolled his eyes as the little black being flew back into his pocket, "you're always thinking about food."

"It's better than my thoughts being occupied by girls." Plagg's sarcastic counter came muffled, and Adrien chose to ignore it as he made his way to the designated destination.

"I hope no one gets Akumatised after this." Adrien muttered to his little Kwami, as he rounded the corner. The park now in view, he glanced to the bakery and a coy smile spread across his lips.

Plagg cackled, "why? So you don't have to see another one of your love interests and tell her your plans for Pigtails?"

Adrien sulked and pursed his lips, "I only have one girl I want Plagg," Adrien replied bitterly, "I just hope I'm not too late to tell her."

Plagg stayed silent, as Adrien neared Kagami. The dark haired beauty sat stoically on the bench closest to the entrance he was entering through, as soon as he caught sight of her hard eyes watching him approach, he gulped. Did she know? How would she know? Was it because he had turned his cheek to her when she tried to kiss him last night?

'Oh god! She even asked me if there was someone else. It was always Ladybug, but now...uh, this will look bad!' He groaned internally while schooling a pleasant smile as he greeted his fellow fencer. "Hey Kagami."

Her eyes softened and a small smile graced her face, "good morning Adrien." She gestured to the small bag beside her that he had missed on his initial glance of the scene, "breakfast?"

He smiled gratefully at her, before sitting with a noticeable gap between them. "Thank you."

The competitive young lady slid out two separate parcels from the bag, "this one is yours." She handed it to him, her demeanour remaining pleasant, but Adrien could sense a shift in their dynamic. She had not hugged him on greeting, Kagami had not closed the gap between them and she had also not insisted on sharing their food. "We need to talk."

Those dreaded words caused Adrien to stare blankly at the neatly wrapped parcel in his hand. He thought he was going to be the one to start up this undoubtedly difficult conversation, but it would appear that he had been blindsided. "What about?"

"You will know in two minutes Adrien." Kagami smiled, but the gesture did not quite reach her eyes. "We have another joining us," her hand motioned to the other parcel, while her eyes remained trained on the park in front of her, watching people as they went about their business.

The seconds ticked by in awkward silence, and Adrien realised that most of the silences between them had been awkward. He wondered why it was that they were sat there, in that particular spot, where the familiar comforting scent of the bakery was able to reach his nostrils. Then something that Marinette had said the night before suddenly struck him.

'Kagami thinks he likes me, but doesn't know it because I've only ever insisted that he was my friend… afterwards he told me about a girl he loves and I assumed that was his current girlfriend, but…'

The realisation hit him like a ton of bricks.

"Hello…"

Adrien turned to see Kagami on the phone.

"...yes we are here now, don't worry about breakfast I have your...oh...I do not understand…" Kagami closed her eyes and angled her head to her lap. "...and you are sure it is not...ok, but I will have to offer some sort of explanation…I will...see you soon...goodbye."

Kagami hung up the phone and turned to Adrien with downcast eyes. "We are not having company this morning," she brought her head up to look at his blank face. "I believe you should know the truth but I cannot be the one to tell you. It is something that you two need to discuss between yourselves."

"Wait," Adrien knew he needed to try and play it down. If he let on that he knew anything about the suspicion that Kagami had, because of what Marinette had told Chat, his identity could come out before he was ready. "I'm sorry Kagami but I don't quite know what is happening here."

Kagami stood up, folding her hands in front of her and turned to face the model. "Adrien," she started with an even tone, "since we have met, you have been indecisive about our relationship and where it is going." She blinked slowly, and the blonde saw her caramel eyes beginning to glisten. "A friend of mine, who is very dear to me, loved you, and I believe she still does, which is why I was willing to step aside for her to tell you this."

"Wait," Adrien furrowed his brow, "were you expecting someone to come here and tell me their feelings for me, in front of you, and expect me to choose?"

"Adrien there is no choice to be made." Kagami smiled gently at him, as he stood up, trying to refrain from looking in the direction of the bakery. "You love her, and she has tried so many times to tell you but she now says she does not."

Adrien deflated internally, while still trying to act as if he knew nothing about what Kagami was talking about.

"It would appear," Kagami continued through his silence, "that her hesitation and your obliviousness to her behaviour has caused a hindrance to the development of your relationship." The blunt explanation that Kagami was giving caused the blonde to question just how long it had been that he had been harbouring feelings for his classmate.

A tear slid silently down Kagami's cheek, as she carried on with her explanation. "When you came back from New York, and all you spoke about was how much she had allowed you to have some freedom, how much fun you had with her when you went away with your friends…how she made it better, just by being there." The raven haired considerate beauty before him smiled kindly. "I thought you knew then when you said how much you enjoyed her company, but…"

"...but I kept on with my denial."

"Yes." Kagami agreed matter of factly. "It was not until last night when I asked you if there was someone else, that I realised, you did not know about her feelings for you, why else would you be with me if you knew?"

"So you wanted Marinette to come here today and confess?" He asked full of remorse for the situation Kagami had been put in.

"I did," she answered, "she has had many failed attempts at trying to tell you how she feels about you, but has never managed to do it successfully." Kagami turned her softened gaze to the bakery shop front, a sadness passing over her features. "But now she believes that there is no point." She turned back to Adrien, "there is another who has her heart, and she does not wish to confess to you, how she felt." Kagami brushed her hair behind her ear, "she does not want it to affect the friendship that you have."

Adrien pursed his lips, "you weren't meant to tell me it was Marinette, so why did you?"

Kagami smirked slightly, "you said her name, all I did was tell you what you had said about her," she straightened up and crossed her arms with a raised brow. "You were the one who worked it out from that, evidently there is only one person on your mind, as you went away with your entire class, sans Lila, and you have not really mentioned any of the others."

He answered in barely a whisper, "I only spoke about Marinette."

"Indeed." Kagami approached Adrien for the first time since he had arrived. She leaned up to kiss him on the cheek, and told him as she leant back, "I would talk to her before she sees Luka."

"Luka?" Adrien repeated Kagami's words with slight horror appearing in his features.

Kagami stepped back, "yes, he told her to use the trip to get some clarity." Kagami looked to Adrien with a furrowed brow, "I am sorry but I believe it was my fault for attempting this today, which has caused her to relinquish her feelings for you, I feel this may have forced that clarity upon her, although, maybe if she knew you felt the same..." Kagami left the implication hanging.

Adrien felt a knot form in his stomach. Kagami smiled as she watched him decipher the information.

"You will never know what could be if you continue to hesitate Adrien," Kagami offered her advice to the blonde. "I now know why you were so indecisive about us. Don't let your hesitation become a problem." she turned her back to him, before pausing and looked to him over her shoulder. "I thought when you chose me, that you had all the imformation, I see it is only fitting that Marinette have what you never did."

With a slight nod and encouraging smile, Kagami left Adrien alone in the park. The blonde sat to think over the information which had been presented to him, his tiny companion staring up at him somewhat unsurely.

"Any cheese puffs in that package?"

Adrien simply deadpanned.
