Chat silently landed on her balcony, making sure to stay out of the eyesight of the civilians below. Although his suit was perfect for hiding against the darkness of night, during the daytime hours, he was easily spotted against the clear blue sky. Being spotted visiting a civilian would be detrimental, even if she was secretly the other half of Paris' dream team. The yin to his yang.

The bunch of red tipped yellow roses felt like a weight in his hands, as the lovestruck hero plucked up the courage to knock on her trap door. The seconds seemed to turn into minutes while he stared in contemplation while he mulled over the different ways this could go.

'Kid just do it already,' Plagg urged impatiently, 'I'd like to see my Sugarcube sometime this millennia.'

Chat rolled his eyes at his Kwami's lack of appreciation for the gravity of his predicament. 'It's not that simple Plagg!'

'Course it is!' The voice of the little black god drawled out. 'Boy likes girl, girl likes boy. What could be more straight forward?'

Chat sighed, 'no Plagg, I need to do this as Adrien-'

'Kid, you're gonna show her who you are anyway.' Plagg drawled in his usual nasally tone.

'Yeah, but I think it would be better if Adrien was seen entering the building at least…'

Chat's thoughts were met by silence, and the blonde took that as Plagg accepting his way of thinking. Jumping over her railings and stealthily scaling the side of the building, he disappeared behind a refuse bin and transformed back into his civilian self.

Marinette felt restless, she really did not want to go back to school, but it was obvious to her mother that her absence was not sickness related. Still, her understanding maman let it slide, as long as she promised to catch up on her homework and address the issue as soon as she could.

The raven haired teenager needed to get out though.

Calling her transformation, Ladybug swung herself around the streets of Paris collecting her thoughts, before heading toward the Eiffel Tower. Landing expertly with the idea firmly in place of luring Chat to her, and dropping her transformation to surprise him with her biggest secret. She trusted her Kitty to no end, and she wanted to share so much more with him. The red and black spotted hero just hoped that she had not been majorly wrong in her assumptions, and was in fact, the person he was talking about earlier.

'It's gotta be you Marinette.' Tikki encouraged her, knowing full well it was. 'If you don't do this now, when will you?'

'I'd do it eventually,' she reasoned internally.

Tikki stayed quiet, but Marinette could sense the being had something else to add. Choosing to ignore the feeling of trepidation tingling through her body, Ladybug opened up her communicator to send her Kitty a message. After all, Marinette had said she would tell him today, she just did not realise it was the same him she would be confessing to.

Adrien entered the bakery, trying but failing miserably to hide the big bouquet of flowers from Marinette's parents. With the amount of people noticing his presence, he also majorly failed to conceal the blush from pure embarrassment. The embarrassment, which was only intensified further when Tom nudged him with a discreet "it's about time!"

'Maybe I should have done this as Chat…'

Sabine simply smiled with an adoring motherly look to her features, hands clasped together at her chest and a knowing gleam in her eyes.

"I-I'd like to surprise her, if...that's ok?" He said nervously while looking to the floor and reaching for the back of his neck. Adrien looked up once more, taken aback by the large dinner plate sized hand which patted him firmly on his shoulder.

"Son," Tom smiled broadly at the blonde and gestured to the door behind him and his wife, "go right on up."

Sabine followed him, watching him bound up the stairs two at a time. "Oh Tom," she sighed happily, "do you remember the first time you gave me flowers?"

"How could I forget," he chuckled, "your mother told me they were the wrong colour!" He placed his arm around his wife's shoulders, looking up the stairwell Sabine was still smiling up at. "What do his flowers mean?"

The petite Chinese woman looked up at her husband fondly, "yellow roses with red tips," she sighed and rested her head on him, "friendship blossoming to love."

Tom hummed his understanding and pulled his reluctant wife back into the bakery, ready for the dinner rush. "Come on dear, it's not like we can hear them from down here anyway."

Laughing to themselves, and relieved that the blonde had finally seen that their daughter was the one he wanted, they awaited the ever blushing face of Marinette to come down and tell them the good news.

'Maybe Marinette will be back in school this afternoon.' Sabine smiled to herself while approaching the counter to serve the next customer.

Ladybug stared at the message which she had received from Chat.

Chat: My friend has gone walkabouts, any chance you could swing by and help me find her please? It's really important.

Ladybug checked to see if Chat's location was pinpointed on her communicator's GPS, but there was no sign of her black cladded partner. Hedging her bets, she headed home to see if her feline friend was present on her balcony. Upon reaching the small space, she found there was no Chat sitting on her terrace. Her heart sank and her stomach churned. She checked her communicator again, and her black cladded partner was still not showing his location.

'Where the hell is he?' Ladybug cursed as she tried to remain positive and reached to open her trap door.

Adrien knocked tentatively on the trapdoor to Marinette's room.

No answer.

He knocked again, a little louder this time.

Still, no answer. He wondered if she was asleep.

Raising the entry slightly, his green eyes scanned the area he could see and established she was not on this level of her room. He lifted the hatch fully, and emerged into her room looking and finding that she was not in her bed, or up on her balcony.

"Are we going out to find her then kid?" Plagg drifted out of his pocket and twirled lazily in the air around

"No," Adrien smirked in a very Chat-like manner. "I have another idea."

So... the trap has been set. Will it be Adrien greeting our heroine, or will Adrien transform at the last minute? I hope Fanfiction sorts the problems out soon, please let me know if you've managed to read it.
