Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 116 – Hand me over.

Raptor's POV.

Pierce came in with presence as I was tending myself to some calm air.

"Commander."

Looking up at the guy I asked.

"How did it go?"

Approaching me he replied.

"It's set. I just want to be sure your ready."

Nodding I replied.

"I'm already going to hell. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Just get it over with."

Pulling out Scrotus's phone Pierce then replied.

"Okay. But listen real fast. After this we are leaving the city. Decide what you want to do. We ether go back to Iraq or you go to Afghanistan. It's your choice. But be ready to make it when we get him."

Nodding my head I now watched as Pierce dialed the number.

Pierce's POV.

Raptor now just laid back down as I waited for an answer from Drake. He should answer. He doesn't have much of a choice. After some time he did just that.

"Who is this?" He asked with a stern tone as I let out a sigh to reply.

"You're not that dumb are you Drake? Please don't play coy. You know who this is and why I called."

"No I don't. What do you want? Who is this?"

"I'm not at liberty to say. All you need to know Drake is that the situation for you and your men seem to be pretty bad. Gorgon has what? Just himself left now? You must know."

"Again I don't. So stop fucking around and tell me!" He ordered as I smiled with Raptor listening.

"Wana just get to it then? Okay. I can do that. Gorgon Zetes and yourself masterminded the murder of Commander Ash Lore. Now speaking about the subject at hand, if I wanted to I could get you pulled out of country for such an act with the evidence my boss has against you and Gorgon and his men. But the contract I am on states we are just to get Gorgon's head. Not yours. Probably because your now in a war. Your too high up the chain to touch. But Gorgon isn't. So I want to make you a deal Drake. Your response will lead to ether one of two things happening. I ether leave the country with Gorgon and burn any evidence I have with your name on it. Or I go the extra mile and show you just what happens when you screw with the wrong people. Now the deal is simple so listen. I want you to bring Gorgon...one way or another it's up to you. But I want you to deliver him to me outside the city at these coordinates. Sixteen north, forty east. By the way I would like you to have the gate opened for me in two hours. No tricks. Otherwise you'll regret it."

Catching a growl coming from the wolf, I soon got back with snark.

Just what do you think this is?! Some kind of game!?

It's a yes or no answer Drake. Ether one you pick won't matter. Cause you will do what I say. Like a good boy.

"Fuck you! You want Gorgon!? You want me!? Come get me then!" He urged as I just chuckled which I'm pretty sure pissed him off even more.

"Should I assume that to be a no then?"

"Fuck you!" He replied as I felt like he was close to hanging up.

"I warned you Drake. But let me say one last thing before you go. Just listen." I urged him as he went silent.

"You just got people killed. When you learned something here in the next minute or so, you give me a call back like a good boy. Understood?"

Raptor just shut his eyes as I hung up to reach into my vest. Tossing him the clacker I watched as it landed on his chest. Instantly he reopened his eyes to see it laying there. Looking over to me I said.

"Do it."

Slowly gabbing it, I watched as Raptor clearly was battling it. But in time he let out a sigh and squeezed. Seconds after the ground shook and the lights went out.

Linnen's POV.

My whole desk shook as the lights went out. In utter confusion I stood up to go for my office door. As I got outside the office one of my men asked.

"What the hell was that?"

In utter confusion I got outside to looked north. A massive cloud of smoke loomed over the city about a mile in from where I was standing. All the lights were out and I could hear screaming in the streets as my men looked to me for an order.

"Go figure out what happened! Go!"

Obeying my demands, the men rolled out in a matter of seconds. As I stood here staring at the smoke my phone went off. Answering immediately I asked.

"What just happened?"

One of my officers was on the other end and replied.

"The power plant just went off like a stick of dynamite Commander! The whole fucking place is gone!"

"Casualties?" I asked in fear as he replied back near immediately.

"Unknown! But the explosion took out nearly half the block!"

Lowering my phone I asked myself.

"What the fuck did this guy just do to me?"

"What's the call Commander?!" He asked as I still hung onto the line. Pulling the phone back up I replied.

"Grab anyone you can and try to secure the site. Save anyone that may be hurt. Bring anyone who is to the nearest hospital and make sure they get treated. I'm going to figure out what happened."

"Yes sir." He replied as he hung up.

Letting out a sigh I made my way back inside the building. My men were already getting the backups online as I got up to my office again. Shutting the door I approached my desk to try and think.

"This wasn't a coincidence. This same guy I just got done talking to did this. How? I have no god damn clue. But this wasn't the work of a sane man. He just killed god knows how many people out there and now the whole fucking city is without power. Does he even understand what that means for people without it? What the fuck have I gotten myself into?" I asked myself as I now paced around the office.

"How does he even blow up the whole plant without anyone knowing? More so how did he blow it up? Just what the fuck was going on?"

In a matter of seconds I began to feel worried. This guy, whoever he is, knows about me. And he's not bluffing. It pains me to say this but Gorgon isn't worth my life. Its about time I get rid of him anyway. What's stopping him from screwing me over after I win this war? Nothing. I might as well end this all now. That and I can't risk any more people getting hurt. The people of this country shouldn't be killed cause I was not prepared to make tough choices. But this was going to make me bite my tongue ether way. This man knew I was screwed. He knew I was going to fold ether way I went down the road. The only problem now was what to do with Gorgon. He won't go quietly.

Pierce's POV.

The backup lights came on. But not after the emotion of what we just did. Raptor was silent as I just sat here waiting for the call. I'm sure the others were just as emotional. Which is even more of a reason to get out of here as soon as possible.

"Raptor...?" I wanted to say something but I was cut off by the phone going off in my hands. Raptor kept his head down as I answered.

"You understand now?" I asked as he was silent.

"I was hoping it wouldn't have come to this Drake. But you gave me no other option. I hope now we understand each other. You know what I want. What's your answer this time around?"

In time I heard.

"I can make it happen. Two hours right?"

Smiling I replied.

"Two hours yes. Have the gate opened near my coordinates. My men and I will be leaving soon. You have till then to get me what I want. And I'll warn you now Drake. You try anything. And I mean anything. I will make you regret it."

"Okay." Replied Linnen as I went on to ask.

"You probably don't understand still just how important this is to me. That power plant was just the beginning. Like I said you try anything and I'll have the honors of blowing up more of your city. Starting with what's most important to your people. Power is just the start. You make that choice though yourself. Test me again. Are we clear?"

"Crystal." He replied as I then said.

"Two hours. Not a second more."

Hanging up the phone I refocused on Raptor.

"We got to get packed up. You gonna be okay?"

Nodding he replied.

"I'll be fine. Just give me a minute will ya?"

Standing back up I replied.

"Got it. I'll go inform the others. Take your time. Juper will come grab you when we're ready."

Raptor just remained there in thought as I left the room. He was showing the emotions I was feeling deep down. Killing innocents never feels right. Especially when you promised to protect them.

Gorgon's POV, An hour later.

Sitting in my bunk I waited for Linnen's call. I was out of ideas. All my men are dead. I was the target and no I was all that was left. The only thing keeping me alive would be me and this army base. But I was ready to make a move. This had to end at some point. If Linnen can find them somehow and I had a chance to move in unknown. I could end this. I was confident if my own abilities. But this waiting was killing me.

What's even worse is that the power plant near the capital got nuked. The whole fucking place went up and I don't doubt for a second that wasn't the same men who are after me. Linnen has to do something and fast before this gets worse.

Just as the thought left my mind I widened my eyes as my phone went off. I answered near immediately when I saw it was Linnen.

"What's the word?" I asked him as he replied.

"We got an issue."

"Yeah no shit. I heard about the power plant. Everyone in the city is out of power Drake. You know what that means?"

"Yeah I do. Listen I got a lead, but I need you here at the capital. I have too much on my hands right now to take a break and sit here on the phone with you. Get over here ASAP and we can talk."

"Got it." I replied as I hung up to grab my gun off the bed.

Letting out a deep breath, I made haste for the exit. The city was buzzing with people now. Everyone was in a panic trying to contain the event and figure out what happened. If Drake was smart he'll play this off as an accident at the plant. Say one of the reactors went. Regardless this can't get out that it was an attack from the inside. People would be running around like mad if they knew some unknown PMC just blew up their only source of power. I mean just think about it. It's so fucking hot over here what are people going to do without air conditioning? That alone might start a riot.

As I got out into the parking lot I widened my eyes at the amount of people driving in the streets. Everyone was out looking for answers. Getting to the capital wasn't going to be easy. I'd probably be better running. Listening to my better side, I decided to do just that. The second I left the area I was bombarded by civilians who asked what was going on. I didn't have the time or even a response, so I just pushed by and kept going for the capital. The whole city was out for this moment.

Raptor's POV.

It appears my time here was up. Pierce managed to find us some trucks. Including a van where we would have Raze and the others with Tusk who as still in critical shape. At the least Blitz would be okay. He's just going to be out cold for awhile. Hopefully till we get back to wherever I plan to take us. The decision was still on my mind. My answer wasn't set.

Getting Tusk and Blitz loaded up was the last thing we had to do. Pierce was planning to take the load of explosives we had stolen back with us. As far we know Linnen is still in the dark about it. As Raze and the others were getting everything finished I was approached by Zeta. She came in slowly but asked.

"You okay?"

Nodding my head I replied.

"I'll live. Just trying to figure out our next move."

Getting alongside me she asked.

"You think we can even get in to Iraq with the battle going on?"

"We can if we go around the back of the city. It'll take longer but we know G.U.N won't be over there. All we need to worry about is my own men. Chances are they might open fire if they see a convey coming on the flank."

"Can't you call ahead?"

Nodding I replied.

"Maybe. But going to Afghanistan might be a better idea. Archer will give me more then my fair share of shit if I bring these guys back. But Mason I can work with. But I would have to handle Hannon. Personally I mean." I told her as she now sat down alongside me to look in my hood. Molly was still asleep as she reached in to pet her head. After a second or two she pulled her hand out to look back at me.

"You worried Archer might try something?"

Shaking my head I replied.

"He would never try to hurt me. But I know him. He wouldn't trust me too much after all this. Especially if he finds out about the power plant. I'm sure it will make news in a matter of hours."

"We don't have to say anything Raptor."

Nodding I then said.

"Archer and me are two different people. He's aggressive when it comes to leading troops. He's never been good with power. Nether have I to be honest. But he can be a tyrant at times. Getting my spot back as commander would require some effort. Maybe some force too if he disagrees."

Zeta seemed to understand what I was saying. But keeping calm she replied.

"I'm sure you have more then enough support. Regardless of how he would feel your officers would choose the better option. If he's as bad as you say he is and he makes a few bad choices in the battle, I'm sure it'll be an easy switch among the men."

She was right. I knew she was. But the choice was still out there for me. I didn't know yet. As we sat here together Juper came in to say.

"Time to get rolling commander. You ready?"

Nodding I replied.

"Yeah. Come on." I urged Zeta as I stood up to offer her my hand.

Smiling, she took it and I helped her back up. With the base empty we made our way up to find the convey ready. Pierce was waiting for me as we came out with Juper. Pointing to the front truck he ordered.

"You, me, and Juper are taking the front truck. Zeta go with Raze and get in the van. The others will be in the back truck with Blitz. We leave now. All goes well we will be out of here in the next hour."

Nodding I made haste for the front. Pierce placed his hand on my shoulder as I passed to urge.

"Just relax. The whole city is out right now. It'll take a bit to get to the border. I'm sure many others may be leaving cause they know they will be without power for at least a few months."

"I'm not worried about leaving. I'm worried about Gorgon."

Getting in the driver's seat Pierce replied.

"When we get to the site I gave Linnen, just stay in the truck. Let me and Juper handle this."

"You think Linnen won't recognize you two?"

"We got masks. Just leave it to us. We do this and we leave."

"Where is Gorgon sitting?" I asked in a slight bit of anger as Pierce took notice to my emotion.

"Depends on the state he is in when we get him. If he's okay I want him secured. You'll take over driving while me and Juper sit between him in the back. If Linnen had to get rough to get him here then I'll let Raze have him for the time being. But the choice will be yours when we get safe enough away from the city. I'm sure you'll want to get reacquainted."

Nodding my head I replied.

"If he's okay I may get rough just out of anger."

"Can't blame you commander. Let's just play it by ear till we get to that road, okay?"

"Okay." I replied as Juper got in finally to say.

"We're set to go Cap."

Pierce nodded and in seconds we were starting our trip home. Everything was leading to this moment. Molly kept herself in my hood as I worried for myself. I wasn't too sure how I would react when I see him again. Especially if he is being hand delivered. I might just kill him outright. Time will tellsoon enough.

Gorgon's POV, Thirty minutes later.

I arrived to find the capital swamped with more then just soldiers. The news crews were already here in force asking if this was an attack. The word on the street was just as I predicted it would be. Linnen had his officers telling them it was a work in progress. Telling them it was too early to tell and that they were still looking into it.

Making my way up into the main building, I found Linnen in his office as usual. He already had a team with him as I entered the room. Everyone looked back to me as I asked.

"What's going on?"

Linnen stood up as I shut the door to reply.

"We got a big problem as I was just telling them. When you managed to get away from the group I got a call."

"The same guys?" I wondered as he nodded.

"They want you. Whoever leads them is smart. He called to make a deal with me. You for their freedom. They plan to leave the second I give you over to them."

Chuckling I asked.

"So it's a PMC right?"

Nodding he replied.

"A contract is out for you Gorgon. I don't know why. But there is. The leader of these men told me where to meet him when I wanted to give you up."

"So let's roll on them. We know where they are now. Let's get this done."

Staring right at me Linnen replied.

"We can't. Gorgon they blew up the plant just as a way to prove to me they were serious. As a joke. Now they plan to blow up even more if I don't."

My eyes widened in confusion as the men around the room now seemed more interested in me.

"I'm sorry. But I got to do my job. This city is important. If I don't protect these people Gorgon what will matter if I win the war? I need to do this. You understand."

Taking a step forward I questioned.

"You can't be serious...?!" All the sudden I was hit in the back of the head. It was an instant. All I felt was lightheaded as I hit the ground.

Linnen's POV.

Gorgon went down hard as one of my men nailed him with a rifle in the back of the head. As he fell asleep I ordered the men.

"Strip his gear just in case. Then tie his hands and gag him shut. Last thing I want his him yapping during the transaction."

The men nodded and in seconds they were taking his whole set off. Placing his guns down on my desk, I widened my eyes as his pistol. An old M1911 with a pair of dogtags wrapped around the butt of the gun. My eyes saw who's they were and instantly I took the weapon in my hands. Guess he was keeping this as a trophy. Seems like him to do this after losing Jagger and Ruby to Voltz.

Placing the gun under my vest, I looked back to see them tying him up. Once they were done I ordered.

"Get him loaded. I'll be there in a second."

"Yes sir." One of them replied as I sat back down.

Putting focus on Gorgon's silver case which was now in front of me, I stared at it in contempt.

mT Shadow.
