Marty: Hey Emmett!
Emmett: What Michael? What do you want? I'm busy with these subpoenas and the last subpoena I have to deliver is to Arthur McFly.
Marty: Arthur McFly?
Emmett: Yeah Kid Tannen's accountant. But he won't come out unless Kid tells him he can.
Marty: I can help you give the subpoena to him.
Emmett: You can?
Marty: Yeah come one. Take me to Arthur's apartment.
(They make it to Arthur's apartment and Marty rings the doorbell)
Arthur: Who is it this time?
Marty: We've come here to give you a subscription to the accountant weekly. Interested?
Arthur: No thanks besides the boss won't let me out until he says so. Sorry.
Marty: That didn't work out. Better come up with another plan. Hey wait I just felt a recorder… vola! I'll get Kid to say something that will get Arthur to come down to get the subpoena.
Emmett: Great Scott! Are you nuts?! Do you have any idea on how dangerous Kid Tannen is?!
Marty: Don't worry Emmett, I'll take care of it.
(They walk back to courthouse square to see Kid and his gang in the courthouse park)
Marty: There he is! I'll work something out. (Walks towards them) Hey Kid!
Kid: It's the punk from the diner earlier! What do you want?
Marty: Free Arthur McFly from his apartment.
(Kid and the gang laugh)
Kid: No way punk, I can't let my accountant testify against me in court or else I'd get sent up the river. You wouldn't want that would you?
Marty: I'd love that!
Kid: Oh really?
Marty: Yeah really, you're just a big bully who deserves to be in prison or get banished from Hill Valley!
Kid: Guys let's get him!
Marty: Guys what's that?! (Knocks Kid and his gang out resulting in a chase around courthouse square until Marty climbs up a tree)
Kid: What are you doing up there you scrawny little runt?! Get down here right now!
Marty: Say that again Tannen (pulls his recorder out and starts recording)
Kid: What are you doing up there you scrawny little runt?! Get down here right now!
(Marty does the Tarzan yell and knocks out Kid and his gang. Him and Emmett run down to Arthur's apartment)
Emmett: You did it Michael!
Marty: I told you I could handle it.
(They make it again to Arthur's apartment and Marty rings the doorbell again)
Arthur: What now?
(Marty gets the recorder out and plays the recording)
Recorder: What are you doing up there you scrawny little runt?! Get down here right now!
Arthur: It's Kid. Comin' down boss? Mr. Tannen? Where are you?
Marty: Arthur McFly
Arthur: Yes
Marty: Got somethin' for you.
Arthur: Thanks. What?! A subpoena?! But I can't do this! Kid will kill me!
Emmett: Sorry Mr. McFly once you've been handed a subpoena you have to attend court. Failure or refusal to do so can lead to arrest.
Arthur: Oh Artie, why did you do this? What am I gonna do now?
Emmett: Relax, just go to court and don't let Kid and his goons catch you doing this.
Arthur: Alright I'll do it.
(Unknown to them, Zane Williams was watching from the phone booth across Arthur's apartment and begins to call Kid)
Kid: Kid Tannen speaking who is this calling?
Zane: Hey boss, I just found out that the guy we tried to chase in the park and Emmett Brown delivered a subpoena to Artie McFly and he accepted it.
Kid: What?! How?!
Zane: Looks like the guy used a recorder to have you tell him to get down. Do you want me or the other guys to kill him and Emmett?
Kid: No leave Emmett and the other guy alone. I'll be killing Artie tonight on the steps of the courthouse with Carl Sagan. (Hangs up)
