Chapter 1

Raph POV

"Fearless has been actin' funny lately. He's hypuh and tawhkative. He's actin' a lot like Mikey. I wonduh what's goin' on wit' him.

Splinter has gotten onto him several times about his behavior.

"Leo's startin' tuh drive us all crazy. It's like we have two Mikey's! He bounces around in practice toyin' wit' us and laughin'. Leo never laughs dis' much. It's scary!"

Mikey POV

"Leo's a lot of fun lately. He plays video games with me. We've even played two pranks on our bros!

"I can tell Raph is a little freaked out by the change in Leo. And Donny keeps trying to examine him and do tests and stuff. Master Splinter doesn't like how Leo has been acting.

"Leo is a lot of fun! But I'm starting to get worried. What made Leo change? Is he okay?"

Don POV

"Leo has changed. He can't sit still for long. He's very talkative. Leo's never been overly talkative. Leo and Mikey have teamed up to play pranks on us. And they hang out a lot together too. Leo laughs a lot now. He just seems overly happy. He always has a spring in his step lately.

"I've tried to get him into my lab to do some tests, but he keeps getting away from me. I'm glad Leo is so happy, but I'm starting to get worried about him. I can tell the others are too."

Splinter POV

"Leonardo has been acting strange. I am worried about him, he seems restless.

"He is taking up more time with Michelangelo. Michelangelo loves the attention, but he too is starting to worry about his brother. Donatello seems to think something is wrong with Leonardo. Raphael is greatly disturbed by the change in Leonardo.

"I've tried to talk to Leonardo about his behavior, but it does not seem to help. It seems Leonardo does not know he's behaving differently."

Raph POV

"I'm glad Leo's gettin' back tuh his old self, even if he's a little cranky."

Mikey POV

"Man, Leo's no fun any more! He's all cranky!"

Don POV

"Leo seems to have gone back to normal, but we really seem to irritate him. He has snapped at all of us."

Splinter POV

"Leonardo seems to be less restless, but it seems he has a lot of anger inside of him. He goes into bouts of rage for no reason."

Normal POV

The guy's head out on patrol one evening. Leo has stomach cramps that get worse as the evening progresses.

Leo POV

"My brother's and I headed out on patrol. I had a stomach ache that I had been trying to ignore the last four days, but it had just been getting worse and worse. It was starting to really affect my focus. I should probably talk to Don about it when we get back.

"I'm not sure what happened but we got surrounded by Foot soldiers. I was really struggling to stay focused on the battle."

Raph POV

"Leo has been distracted all night. I don't know what's wrong wit' him, but he lead us right in de middle of Foot soldiers. Far as I can tell he's not injured.

"He seemed tuh be havin' a lot of trouble fightin', so I decided tuh stick close tuh him. He may be annoyin' but he is my brudder.

"As we fought the Foot, we got furthuh and furthuh away from Mikey and Don. Aftuh a while we couldn't see dem anymore. We ended up fightin' de Foot in a construction area. We were fightin' shell tuh shell protectin' each other's backs.

"When Leo's foot slipped on de side of a big pit dat de construction crew had dug. He started tuh slip and knocked my foot out from under me and we both fell into de pit. It was really deep, but somehow we managed not tuh get hurt.

"De Foot leaned over de pit and laughed at us and taunted us. Den dey ran off tuh meet up with de rest of de Foot probably tuh go afttuh de others. It's not like we were goin' anywhere."

Normal POV

Raph stood at the wall of the pit looking up, his fists clinched at his side in anger and said, "Great, Fearless! Now we're stuck in here!-" and whipped around to face Leo, "-And de guys don't know where we are. And we fawhgot our shell cells! And it's your fault!" he yelled.

"Shut up, Raph." said Leo, looking around the pit trying to find a way out, but having a hard time concentrating because the pain in his stomach. But he thought, "Raph is right it was his fault. Well, not forgetting the shell cells. That was just a coincidence." A strong stomach cramp came and Leo thought, "What's wrong with me? I've never had stomach cramps this bad."

"Since yuh got us into dis mess, yuh got any ideas? Oh Fearless leader?" asked Raph arms spread wide in exasperation and thought, "Why is Leo's sweatin'? It's not hot down here. He's breathin' hard too."

"I'm not-" Leo said leaning on the wall of the pit and his shoulder sliding down the wall as he collapsed to the ground, "-fearless."

"LEO!" Raph yelled, running to Leo.

Leo laid on his side on the ground and thought, "Why does it hurt so much? What's wrong with me?" He was in too much pain to move and tried not to whimper in pain.

"Leo!" Raph said as he knelt down beside Leo and put a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?!"

"Hurts" Leo gasped out.

"What hurts?" asked Raph thinking Leo got hurt fighting the Foot and looking him over for an injury.

"Stomach-", Leo said with his eyes tightly shut, "-hurts!" and he puked, heaving hard.

"Yuh big baby! It's just a stomach bug!" said Raph angrily as he tried to sit Leo up. Leo cried out in pain and a tear rolled down his cheek.

Seeing the tear, Raph laid Leo back down and thought, "Leo never cries. I hope dis is only a stomach bug."

And then he saw the blood. Leo had blood on the inside of his thighs. "Leo! Your bleeding!" said Raph, checking him for a fever and finding one. Raph noticed Leo was shivering from the fever. He squeezed Leo's shoulder as he cried out in pain as his stomach cramped hard.

"Easy, Leo. I'm sure Donny and Mikey will find us soon." said Raph trying to comfort him. Leo screamed in pain as an even stronger cramp came. Raph's eyes got big as Leo screamed in pain. Leo never showed pain unless it was extremely bad.

Each breath Leo took ended up in a whimper and tears were now streaming down his face. "Hurry Mike! Don! Leo's in trouble!" thought Raph as he held Leo and watched his brother writh in pain.

"Donny! I found them!" yelled Mikey looking over to Don as he was running up to him. "I think Leo's hurt." Mikey said as Donny looked down at Leo and Raph.

Don's eyes got big as he looked at Leo. Leo was laying on his side with his eyes closed and Raph was kneeling on the ground letting Leo use his lap as a pillow. "Let's go!" he said as he prepared to jump down.

"But how are we going to get back up?" asked Mikey not wanting to get stuck in the pit.

Don said, "I've got a grappling hook in my bag!" And jumped down.

"Oh." said Mikey and he jumped down and followed Donny.

Author's note:

I started on the story about seven years ago. And then I lost my notebook I wrote it in because I was moving. Kept looking for a fanfiction like this one and I never could find one like it. Found my notebook about 2 weeks ago while going through storage and thought I'd try to write the story as it has never left me.

Just so you know I am dyslexic. I write with voice to text. I can think of a good story, but getting it out is hard.

I'm trying hard to be a visual writer. A few years ago I read a Frank Peretti book with a car chase that made me dizzy. I love that style of writing. I have one of his books and I am trying to study how he writes. When you read this I hope it's an easy read that's like watching a movie.

If you see any problems or have any trouble understand something please let me know. But please be kind. Writing is really not my thing. I have struggled with it my whole life. But this story has been in my mind for about 7 years. It needs to be written.

I have been working hard to get Raph's accent right, but also understandable. I'm also not trying to make him sound stupid or uneducated. Please let me know if something doesn't sound like him. Also the voice to text doesn't recognize the name Raph, so I tried to say Ralph when I want his name. I've been going back and taking out the L. So if you see a Ralph in there please let me know. I keep finding that I'm missing them.

I have absolutely no medical knowledge. I'm doing research and making up things as I go. I mean their Mutant Turtles. You got to make up some things.

I have six and a half chapters already written for this. They need a lot of editing and I probably won't add another chapter until I've finished the 7th. I would like to stay six chapters ahead at all times. Gives me a little bit of freedom to change things around as I go. I have no idea how long this will take me to write. But I won't give up on it.

I also haven't given up on the other story that I wrote 11 years ago. After this one I plan on editing that one and rewriting it. When I found my notebook that had this story in it I also found the next chapter I had written for the other story.
