(Marty and Emmett are in the back of Kid Tannen's place where there are packages of alcohol)

Emmett: Ok heres the deal, you go in and distract Kid and his guys while I take as much alcohol as I can.

Marty: But I don't know what I'm gonna say.

Emmett: Well just say anything. Think of something that will get them to continue on with conversation.

Marty: You the man Emmett. (Walks around into the entrance of Kid's place)

(Inside Kid's place and Marty knocks)

Matches: Who are you and what are you doing here?

Marty: I'm here to see a Kid Tannen.

Matches: The boss is busy at the moment. Can I have your…? Wait a minute. You're that guy from the park we lost.

Marty: Wow you figured me out easily.

Matches: You set up Artie McFly to be murdered tonight on the steps of the courthouse square with Carl Sagan.

Marty: No you can't kill them! Carl did not and would never destroy a building! And for Artie, he did what was supposed to be done according to the law!

Matches: But Artie disobeyed the boss by answering the subpoena. And Carl destroyed our beloved speakeasy. So by around 10 PM tonight, they will both be dead and gone. Now scram or else you'll be murdered with them tonight. (Slams door)

Marty: Did you get enough supply Emmett?

Emmett: This should be enough to power up the drill. Now head over to my place.

Marty: But it's not 7:00 yet. It's almost 1:00.

Emmett: My duties at the courthouse are done for the day so we can get started on the drill now.

(At the brown residence)

Emmett: Now here's how we're gonna power this baby up. It needs to be filled all the way up with alcohol in order for it to have full power. But we have to finish up these experiments I've been working on with the fish tank, bunson burner, and the valve!

Marty: Can that wait?

Emmett: Oh come on, their almost finished and as soon as their finished we can work on the drill.

Marty: Ok

Erhardt Brown: Emmett!

Emmett: That's my father. Gotta go speak to him.

Marty: Come on Emmett. Can that wait.

Emmett: No! I have to this instant!

Marty: Whatever.

Sarah Brown: Get over here now Emmett!

Emmett: Coming mother and father! Well hello mom and pap.

Sarah: Don't mam and pap us young man!

(While Emmett argues with his parents, Marty finishes up his experiments)

Emmett: Listen fellas, we've had enough of this arguing, the delivery people made a mistake that's all. Now I gotta finish my duties.

Erhardt: This isn't over yet Emmett!

Marty: Wow. You seem to have a strained relationship with your parents.

Emmett: Oh yeah. They forced me into being a law clerk and want me to be a lawyer when I want to be a scientist.

Marty: Then stand up to them.

Emmett: But if I do that they'll disown me.

Marty: Come on, never be afraid to follow your own dreams.

Emmett: I want to stand up to them but I'm afraid to do so.

Marty: There's the expo coming up in October. Use that to stand up to your parents.

Emmett: I plan to

Marty: Good now let's get on with the drill (pours a bottle of alcohol in the drill)

Emmett: Now it needs an extra more of it to power it up. (pours three more bottles of alcohol in the drill)

Marty: (Turns on the drill) It works perfectly!

Emmett: Finally I invent something that works.

Marty: You'll be a great scientist someday.

Emmett: I will?

Marty: Of course

Emmett: I don't know. I might end up being a failure.

Marty: Damn it Emmett! Of course you'll have failures along with successes. But if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

Emmett: Thanks for the good advice Michael.

Marty: Now I need to get to the police station to break my friend Mr. Sagan out of jail.
