Chapter 6

Donny enters Leo's room. He sees Leo sitting on his bed with his knees drawn to his chest and his arms hugging his knees. Raph was sitting beside Leo with his arm around his shoulders.

Donny closes the door and asks, "Leo what's wrong?"

Leo doesn't answer so Raph answers for him, "His stomach is hurtin' again, he tinks it's an egg."

"Okay, how long has your stomach been hurting, Leo?" asked Donny gently, seeing that Leo was scared.

Raph turned to Leo and said, "Sorry bro, I can't answer dis one for yuh."

"Since I woke up this morning." said Leo quietly. "It's not as bad as last time but it's getting worse."

"Okay, I did some research since last time. I think I know how to help you get it out before it gets too bad." said Donny reassuringly.

"See, Leo? I told yuh Donny would know what tuh do." said Raph with a smile.

"Raph, take Leo to the bathroom and start a warm bath for him." said Donny heading to the door. "He needs to relax before the egg will come out. I'm going to get something from my lab that will help also."

Raph said, "Okay, bro, let's get yuh tuh de bathroom." and he helped Leo off the bed and to the bathroom.

Raph gets Leo into the bathroom and sits him on the toilet lid while he starts the water. As the warm water starts filling up Raph says, "Okay, bro, let's get yuh in de tub." and helps Leo into the tub and sits on the floor beside the tub to wait with Leo.

Donny comes in with a syringe and says, "Okay, Leo, I'm going to give you a shot of calcium, it may help your body push out the egg." Donny gives Leo the shot and walks out saying he's going to do a little more research while Leo relaxes in the tub.

Leo lays back in the tub trying to get comfortable, but no matter how he lays nothing is comfortable. Leo sits up and draws his knees to his chest and wraps his arms around his knees.

"What's wrong?" asked Raph.

Leo sighs and says, "No matter how I lay, I can't get comfortable."

"Well dat won't work. If yuh can't get comfortable yuh can't relax." said Raph standing up. "Scoot up a little."

"What? Raph?" said Leo has he scooted forward looking confused as Raph got in the tub behind him. "Why are you in the tub with me?"

"Well yuh ain't goin' to get dis egg out if yuh can't get comfortable. And yuh know dese tubs aren't made for turtles." said Raph. "Lay back against me and see if yuh can get comfortable."

Leo hesitantly laid back against Raph and shifted around until he was laying on his side, head on Raph's chest facing the wall. Leo sighs and realizes he's comfortable and he feels safe. Raph was right. This does help. Raph starts running a hand up and down Leo's side trying to soothe him and relax him. Slowly Leo starts to relax and is almost asleep.

Don walks in about 15 minutes later and says, "Raph? Why are you in the tub with Leo?"

Raph shushes Don and quietly whispers "He's almost asleep." Don walks over to the tub and Raph continues, "He couldn't get comfortable so I thought maybe dis would help and it did."

"He does look very relaxed." said Don as he sits on the toilet lid.

About 20 minutes later while Raph and Don are quietly talking, Leo jerks awake.

"What's wrong Leo?" asked Raph looking down at Leo.

"My stomach did something"- Leo looked down putting a hand on his stomach- "weird."

"Your body is probably getting ready to push out the egg." said Don reassuringly.

Raph put a arm around Leo and continued running a hand up and down his side trying to get Leo to relax again. "Leo, yuh body knows what tuh do just relax and follow your instincts."

Leo slowly relaxed again and Raph and Don start quietly talking again. Leo was unable to fall asleep due to the weird feelings in his stomach, but was able to relax again thanks to Raph.

Raph abruptly stops talking to Don and looked down at Leo as Leo draws his legs up to his chest. Raph is about to say something to Leo when Donny stops him.

Donny puts a finger to his lips to tell Raph to be quiet. He then points to Leo's face. Raph looks down and notices that Leos eyes are halfway open but Leo is blankly staring like he's in a trance.

Raph and Don watch as Leo starts having contractions. They come in waves that make Leo go rigid and hold his breath. Then he relaxes again. They watched Leo as the contractions get closer and closer together.

Eventually they see Leo's tail swell and an egg comes out. It was smaller than the first one. Raph was about to say something but Donny stopped him again pointing to Leo's face again. Leo still looked to be in a trance. Over the next few minutes Leo pushed out two more eggs. Then he relaxed completely.

Don reaches in the water to take out the eggs and says with a smile, "So do I have to worry about these being fertilized, Raph?"

Raph blushes and says, "Will yuh stop asking me dat question!!"

Raph jumped when Leo said, "He would make a wonderful mate and father." not expecting Leo to be awake.

Don laughed as Raph looked down to say something to Leo only to hear Leo snore.

Raph says, "Don't say somethin' like dat and fall sleep!" and blushes.

Donny laughs and says, "You two would make a cute couple."

Raph blushes and gets almost as red as his mask and says, "Don! He's my brother! Stop joking around!"

"The chance of us actually being related is pretty low." says Don as he grabbed a towel to dry Leo off with.

"Whatever. Let's get Leo out of the tub." said Raph trying to change the subject.

Raph and Donny got Leo out of the tub and dried off. And after drying himself off Raph carried Leo Bridal style out of the bathroom. Leo was still sound asleep.

Mikey was waiting for them outside the door and he asked, "Is Leo ok?"

"He's okay, Mikey. Just laid more eggs." said Don.

And then Mikey saw Raph's face was red and said, "Dude, Raph! Why is your face so red?!"

Raph got redder and said, "Because our brothers are idiots!"

Donny said in between giggles, "Leo said something embarrassing to Raph and then fell right to sleep. He even snored when Raph started to say something back."

Splinter smiled watching his sons giggle and poke fun at Raphael. Unbeknownst to them he had been standing near the bathroom and heard the conversation inside and what Leonardo said. They forget how good his hearing is. He also thinks Raphael and Leonardo would make a cute couple.

Author's note:

Raph is gruff, but I see him as the type that would take care of friends and family when they need him even if it embarrasses him.
