Chapter 2 released 10/27/2020

Summary: With all his friends abandoning him to the perils of the Tournament, Harry's magic sensing his despair calls forth a dragon slayer to permanently merge with, giving Harry the strength to complete the first task.

November 24 1994

Harry was alone, he was abandoned by everyone including his friends, the friends he risked his life for, the very same friends who had thrown him away less than a month ago and haven't looked back.

The Triwizard Tournament is an event that usually ends with the deaths of multiple people from spectators, competitors and even the tournament's organizers.

On Halloween the most dreaded night for him where something had always gone wrong. In his first year a troll attacked his former friend Hermione Granger in the girls lavatory. He and a fellow student went to save her which formed a 'lasting bond' between them. In his second year the Chamber of Secrets was opened on Halloween where Mrs. Norris was petrified and hung on a wall while he had come across it while at Nearly Headless Nick deathday party, he got blamed for it. In his third year Sirius Black a supposed mass murderer, snuck into the castle and slashed the Fat Lady's portrait when she would not let him in. Now this year, the fourth year his name came flying out of the Goblet of Fire as the fourth champion.

When his name flew out of the Goblet he was accused by everyone of cheating his way into the tournament to become a champion. But not just any champion but rather the fourth champion in a three person event.

Why would he want anything that the Triwizard Tournament could give him that he didn't already have? Fame, Glory and Fortune was the reward that was promised, but Harry had all of those. He was the Boy Who Lived that title alone, no matter how much he hated it warranted more fame than any champion including Krum. He was the sole survivor of the Potter family, a wealthy family that had millions of galleons, sickles and knuts, so why did he need 1000 measly galleons?

But none of that was the main problem, the main problem was that today was the first task and had yet to figure out what he was doing.

Ignoring the sneers and insults from the students, Harry made his way to the first task arena and dozed off waiting for the other champions to arrive.

"Mr. Potter, wake up." The voice of Barty Crouch yelled in his ear.

"I'm up, what is it?" Questioned the fourth champion.

"Your task, put your hand into the bag and take the item." Retorted the Judge.

Putting his hand into the bag he felt something bite his fingers before he picked it up and brought it out for everyone to see.

A moving statue of a dragon, a Hungarian Horntail one of the deadliest dragons that exists. Vicious dragons that have the foulest temper, they are one of the most notorious for killing humans.

"Ahh the Horntail, you will go fourth Mr. Potter." The judge announced.

How was he supposed to kill a Hungarian Horntail, he didn't even know if that was the task to complete.

He fell asleep as the Cannon boomed signaling Cedric to go complete his task but not before overhearing what was going on.

Their task was to steal a golden egg from a nest of real dragon eggs that are protected by the nesting mother dragons.

Your blade is my fate

Your armor protects my destiny

I pay tribute to the Grail

The contract is created and I pay the price

You shall serve under me

Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail

We summon those who may aid us in these perils

Come forth from the throne, protector of balance

What was that? He thought with a grimace as he got up before noticing his surroundings. Floating petals surrounded him and everywhere he could see on a blue field not noticing a massive shape behind him.

"Where am I?" Questioned the Boy Who Lived.

"You are on the reverse side of the world." A voice said from behind Harry.

Turning around Harry saw a tall tanned man with greenish grey eyes and long silver hair that was unkempt, he wore a black bodysuit with red markings across it. He also donned silver gauntlets, pauldrons and boots with a sword sheathed behind his back. The most interesting part about him was the exposed chest that glowed green.

"Who are you?" Asked the fourth champion.

"I am Siegfried, the Dragon Slayer. You are the one who called me with the incantation using your magic, Now we are bound together in your body" Announced the now identified Siegfried.

"What does that mean?" Muttered Harry who was overheard by the dragon slayer.

"It means that I am now fused with you till the day you die making it a priority that I protect you while you also gain access to my powers along with your own." The silver knight responded.

"You can help me beat the Horntail?" Harry pleaded while asking Siegfried.

"I can kill it with ease but your task doesn't involve killing it." The dragon slayer responded. "It's your time to go for the task, all you have to do is imagine my sword Balmung and it will appear before you if you choose to slay it. But be warned when you wake up your appearance will change slightly, when asked about it say that you're a metamorphmagus." The dragon slayer told him before he woke up.

When Harry woke up, he immediately checked his appearance which had changed a little more than slightly. Harry's hair was now the same silver color as Siegfried's. His chest there was an unnoticeable faint green glow that was exactly the same as the dragon slayers and he grew taller and slightly bulkier.

"Now our fourth champion, Harry Potter will face the Hungarian Horntail." The voice of one of the judges rang out through the arena.

That was his que to go up, but he was unsure of how he wanted to deal with the dragon. Did he want to slay the dragon or use Siegfried's power to simply pluck the egg from its nest.

Entering the arena built for this task Harry's perception of time slowed down as he saw the Horntail's tail try to pierce him which he easily avoided by moving to the side.

Sprinting towards the dragon's nest he pulled out his wand and pulled a large rock to him which he used as cover from the dragon's fire.

Vaulting over the rock when the dragon's fire, Harry imagined Balmung being in his hand before it truly appeared in his grasp.

Harry grabbed the golden egg by diving underneath the dragon without injuring it or the other eggs before using the flat side of Balmung to slap the dragon, disorienting it and allowing him to escape unharmed.

Harry proceeded to imagine Balmung leaving and just as it appeared with his thoughts it disappeared too.

"Merlin's beard, Harry Potter has completed his task without being injured." The judge Ludo Bagman announced.

At the end of the day Harry was awarded 39 points for the first task, putting him in second place.

Hermione, Ron and a few others came to apologize but Harry only remained friends with the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Lee Jordan and Neville Longbottom, and the only adults he would now talk to where Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, the only two adults to have faith in him.

Now all he had to do was figure out the golden egg's clue and prepare for the Yule Ball, he had a lovely chaser named Katie as his date.
