Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 134 – I told you this would happen.
Zeta's POV.
Blood dripped onto the floor as Raptor's left eye stared at us. Molly had her tail tucked between her legs and I was just about to do the same thing. It wasn't just a solid black orb looking at us. It was something more. Something dark. My right arm began to shake and without another warning my tail began to tuck in on itself. This wasn't normal. I was scared. Me? Scared? I almost couldn't believe that emotion was being brought out of me. But as Raptor shut his left eye after a few seconds of powerful staring. I felt a breath leave my lungs when he suddenly fell forward off the bed and right onto his face.
"Raptor? I whispered as I heard Mason at the door banging.
"Open the door Zeta!" He ordered as I got down next to Raptor's side. Catching my breath as Molly came around his other side, I began to look over his face. The blood had stopped but so had he. In fear I felt his neck for a pulse. In an instant I felt everything stop as I felt nothing.
"Raptor?" My voice turned into a whimper as I questioned what just happened. Placing my hand back under his neck I felt again. For anything. Just anything. My heart was beating so fast as I got down right next to him. Quickly I rolled him over onto his back as Mason yelled from his end of the door.
"Zeta! Open the door!"
My body wouldn't move as I placed my head on top of his chest. I gave it a few seconds but soon I widened my eyes as it was clear he wasn't breathing anymore.
"No! No no!" I shouted to his blank face as I immediately started to preform CPR. Pressing down on his chest, I leaned in to place my lips to his. I used everything I had to give his body air. Pulling off his mouth after running out, I began to press his chest again as hard as I could.
"Come on Raptor!" I begged him as I saw a tear leave my face.
Pressing my lips one more time, I gave it my all.
"Breathe!" I begged him as I pulled back again to press his chest.
At this point I was crying as I began to turn my presses into thumps. I felt myself hitting him with everything I had as I heard from outside the door a familiar voice.
"Zeta! Open the door! Please!" It was Raze. Looking over to the door then back to Raptor, I felt my heart stop as Molly placed her front paws on his left arm to shout.
"Braf! Braf!"
"Zeta!" I heard Raze scream as I threw everything to the wind and got up to run for the door. Unlocking the door, Raze came sprinting through to see Raptor laying there. Immediately she shouted.
"Oh my god! What happened!? Raptor!"
She ran right to him as I turned to go with her. Now on his other side with Molly, I looked to Raze as she had her hands on both his cheeks. Turning his head from side to side she asked as Mason and his men began to gather around.
"Is he breathing!?"
Her eyes looked right to me as I slowly shook my head in disapproval. From there she instantly began to feel for a pulse around his neck. Mason on the other hand got down next to me and asked.
"Is he alive?!"
Raze went silent as she felt hard for anything. Switching from his neck to his wrist, Raze replied as doctor Gord came running in behind the officers who filled the room now.
"He's not breathing!"
Getting in front of me Gord asked.
"What happened to him!?"
Everyone looked to me as it was clear only I had answers at this point. With the focus all on me in a near second, I replied while looking to Raptor.
"We went out for dinner and some drinks! After that we went to the cemetery! He wanted to see Shadow and his friends he lost; and when we were there he began to collapse in pain!"
"Pain from what!?" Asked Gord as he looked to me directly as Raze tried CPR for herself. As she pressed her mouth to his I replied to Gord.
"He said his eyes felt like they were on fire and that he couldn't see! When I got to him he was bleeding and he could barely stand up! I got him to the truck and got us here as fast as I could!"
"Why didn't you get help!?" Asked Mason in anger as I grew defensive and replied right to his face.
"Raptor didn't want any! I wasn't going to say no!"
"He was in pain you stupid bitch!" Replied Mason as I began to growl. Raze looked right at me say.
"Zeta...?!" Cutting her off, Mason screamed at me with a direct finger to my face.
"Fuck what he wanted! He was in pain! We all saw it! Now look at him! You see what you did!?" He asked me as he then pointed to Raptor who continued to lay motionless with Gord taking over for Raze who was now solely focused on me.
"He's dead and it's your fault!" Stated Mason as I felt something snap.
Sending my right arm across the room in almost lightening speed. Everyone panicked as I dropped Mason with a straight hook into the side of his skull. The man dropped to the side as Raze leaped around the scene to grab me from my chest.
"Stop Zeta!" She begged as Mason was slow to get up. With blood leaving his mouth and my eyes solely focused on him and only him. I panicked as Mason reached to his side for his gun. The second it left his holster Dom who was on the side jumped in to grab him from behind and order.
"Stand down commander!"
Mason struggled to point his gun at me as I lunged once more. Raze lost me at that moment and with another hook I connected right into Mason's head which was being held in place by the nearby officer. It was at that moment that the gun dropped and I felt someone new grab me from behind. This time with enough power to pull me back and up to my feet.
"Stop Zeta!"
Looking back I saw it was Pierce. His men must have heard the commotion. With the wolf dragging me away and towards the door, I shouted.
"Let me go you fuck! Let me go!"
Pierce was clearly stronger then Raze, but with help from Juper who came sliding in front of me to grab my arms, I stared right at him as he begged.
"Calm down Zeta! Listen to me!"
Pierce got a better hold and soon I was pinned into his chest. Mason on the other hand was out cold. His men had him laying down where I hit him and without any restraint now Gord ordered.
"Everyone calm down! Now! Raze get over here!"
Raze came right back to his side as Juper had to ask.
"Is he alive doc!?"
Gord had his full attention now on Raptor who still didn't move. Raze went to give him some more air as I felt Pierce loosen his grip. With all my strength, I pushed him back and got back to them in near seconds of breaking free. Pierce and the others quickly huddled up around us as full focus was on Raptor now. As Raze pulled back off his mouth after giving it her all, she looked to Gord who yelled at some of the men by the door.
"Get me a defibrillator! Hurry up!"
The men ran right out of the room leaving us all in silence as Raze tried one more time to give him air. My tears were still coming out, but Mason had me all sorts of mad. Mad enough that I barely remembered how sad I was moments ago. In probably a minute the men came running back with the defibrillator. Passing the machine to Gord, we all watched as he began to charge them up. Looking to Raze who was trying her best to keep calm during all this. We all watched as Gord shouted.
"Clear!"
Applying the pads to Raptor's chest right after he said it. We waited as Raptor's body jolted up from the shock. A second after, he fell back down and Gord looked to Raze who started to check for a pulse or even a heartbeat. Even breathing would work. But getting nothing she urged.
"Do it again!"
Gord nodded and began to charge them again. This whole time I sat here just staring at Raptor's face. It was motionless. I've seen those faces before this. Only a dead man could wear that. I wasn't ready for this. I just wasn't. Not when I'm so close to having something good enter my life again does it get snatched away from me.
"Clear!" Shouted Gord as we watched his body jolt from the shock. But Raptor just fell back down as Raze again looked for any signs of life. Gord was just silent as Raze did everything she could. With her hand on his neck she looked to me to say.
"I'm so sorry Zeta!" Gord lowered his head as Pierce and Juper looked like they were two dead men walking. I guess it was their mission to make sure he lived after all. With Juper running his hands over his head and letting out a sigh. I looked back to Gord to ask.
"Can't we do something else!?"
Gord quickly shook his head as I broke out into a growl. Raze reached for me as I slammed my hand into the floor to shout.
"God damn it! God damn it! God damn it! Aghhhh!"
One of the rebellion officers who was behind me quickly placed his hand on my shoulder. In disbelief I stood up to back up into the crowd. Raze and Gord however remained on the ground as I ran my hands to the base of my mouth. I had to breathe. I was losing it. Everything up till now seemed like some sick joke. One moment I was actually feeling happy to be alive, then the next I'm standing here crying like I'm some stupid teenage girl again. My head was going off the rails as everyone in the room seemed to have gone silent. Eyes just looked on at Raptor as Molly got back to his side. Running to him the small girl banged her head right into his. She was trying to get his attention. Even though he was dead she still had faith.
"Braf! Braf!" She barked as Raze tried to reach for her.
"Come on Molly. It's okay."
Molly instantly snapped right at Raze's hand as it came close forcing the fox to pull back. Without another try Raze just let her go on. With the soldier letting me go after a few more seconds, I just watched as Molly ran over to his right hand. Licking his fingers we all felt panicked as we suddenly saw them twitch.
"Braf!" Barked Molly as she then bit down on the index finger gently. In no more then a second Raptor's fingers started to move. Molly instantly let go of her hold as Raze and Gord and basically everyone stared on in shock. I ran right back to my knees alongside Gord as Raptor began to twitch his eyes.
Raptor's POV.
It was slow. I came through feeling only my hands at first. I couldn't describe what the rest of my body felt like. Mainly because I couldn't feel it. I had just enough energy to move my fingers.
"Raptor?" I heard someone whisper as the sound hit my ears with an echo. At that moment I felt someone place their fingers on the base of my wrist. Twitching my fingers to the touch, I could only breathe calmly as I tried to open my eyes. At the moment I was scared to think I might still be blind. But as I opened them I made out the instant recognition of faded and blurred colors. My eyes were seeing things as if I was stuck staring into a water bottle. None of the colors made sense. I couldn't tell what or who they belonged to. I was barely able to open them ether way however. I had no energy.
"Raptor?" I heard someone else say as I started to feel the rest of my body coming through. Pins and needles quickly set in as I swung the arm that was being held over to my side. I could hear gasps as I then heard.
"He's alive!"
Moving my head to the left side of the room, my vision came through just enough to see Zeta and doctor Gord there. Gord just stared at me with a look of awe as Zeta leaned in to place her hand on my face. A smile fleshed out on her face as she asked.
"Can you hear me?"
I nodded once very slowly as she broke out with tears. At that moment I knew I had something with her by my side the way she was. She was crying. But it was out of happiness.
Zeta's POV.
My emotions got tossed upside down as Raptor nodded to me for his response. With my hand still on his face I asked seeing his eyes trying to open.
"Can you see me?"
Raptor was out of it. Just by looking at his movement from before told me he had little to no energy. With his eyes focused on me, I stared right at him as he began to open them for me to see. Leaning in closer, I focused just on him as it happened. My eyes opened back up as his were revealed. The black orbs were gone. What was there now I saw for maybe two seconds before he shut them again. And losing my smile he replied.
"Yeah...I can see you."
Gord then got in front of me as I was at a loss for what I saw. Raze who sat alongside him instantly notice the change in my reaction as Gord asked Raptor.
"Can you stand up commander?"
Raptor shook his head and without another thought Gord looked around the room to ask.
"I need someone to help me lift him. I want him taken to medical right away."
Pierce and Juper both acted fast. I could tell they were going through a whirlwind of emotion as well as they got down to gently take him. Raptor was in a slump. His feet dragged as Gord then ordered everyone else.
"I need someone else to get Mason to his room. Everyone else please keep your mouths shut about what happened here. No need to worry the men. Raze you come with me."
Raze shook her head instantly as Raptor was already being guided out of the room. Molly ran at his feet as focus was now on Raze.
"I'll be right behind you doctor. I want to check on Mason first before anything else."
Gord nodded and made his way after Raptor as everyone slowly left the room. With only a pair of officers with us, Raze asked.
"Can you two get him in bed?"
"Is he going to be okay doc?" One asked as she quickly replied.
"Yes. He just took a hard hit. Let him rest it off. Please."
Both the men nodded and in seconds they had Mason off to his room down the hall. Leaving me with Raze who immediately walked over to shut the door. Looking back to me she asked.
"What the hell happened just now?"
I still sat on the floor as she approached to look at me.
"Zeta?" She said again as I was at a loss for what to say.
Getting down on her knees again, Raze smacked my chest with her hand. I brought my eyes over to match hers as she asked again.
"What happened out there with you two?"
"We went out to eat. Raptor and I actually had a good time. After that he took me to go get a drink."
"Then what?" She asked as I replied.
"He took us out of town for a bit. He took me into the desert and we spent the next hour or so watching the stars together."
"Sounds like everything was going well. What happened when you got to the cemetery?" She asked as I shook my head to reply.
"Like I said to Mason before he went off on me Raze. Raptor was there to see his friends. The people he lost."
"Did you say anything?"
Nodding I replied.
"I didn't really know what to say. I didn't know his friends. I wasn't here for any of that. I just saw he was sad. I wanted to be there for him. Just as some comfort Raze."
Raze smiled as I then said.
"Then he asked if he was the bad guy Raze. I said no. Then he broke out and started crying to himself that Shadow died because he wouldn't listen."
"Listen to what?" She questioned as I was now stuck on how to explain things to her from here. Sensing my hesitation she urged.
"Just tell me what happened Zeta."
"I want to Raze but it's not easy to explain."
"Then lose the details and just cut to it. I can ask Raptor myself next time I see him." She told me as I looked her right in the eyes to reply.
"He believes in demons Raze."
"Demons?" She questioned in confusion as I nodded.
"What kind of demons?" She then asked as I replied.
"The bad kind, duh Raze." I told her as I shot her a look. Raze instantly let out a gust of air as I went on to say.
"He said a demon helped him forget his past. Like the grim reaper. Basically death himself."
Raze stared at me with wide eyes as I lowered my gaze.
"He helped him forget all the bad things he's done in life Raze. And he thinks this same demon follows him till this day because he himself is going down the same dark path."
"What do you mean?" She wondered as I calmly replied.
"I don't know. Cause before he said anything more he collapsed in pain."
"From what?" She asked as she grabbed my hand.
"His eyes. He said he couldn't see. Then I got close and saw it. His eyes were black Raze. Fucking black!"
Raze now stared at me with wide eyes as I struggled to remain calm.
"All the color was gone. Sucked out of him. All that was left was two black orbs. He couldn't see and blood started to come out from under them. By the time I got him to the truck and back here...I didn't know what to do Raze. I didn't!" I told her as she came in to hug me. Wrapping my arms around her I said again.
"I didn't know what to do!"
"I know."
"He collapsed again Raze and he fucking died! Right here!" I shouted as I felt her squeeze harder.
"I thought he was dead!"
"We all did. But he's not. Okay?"
Pulling away a foot but keeping her hands on my arms, Raze focused right on me to say.
"He's alive and he's going to be okay. He's okay Zeta. You hear me?"
Just staring at her I replied.
"When he looked at me just now Raze. His eyes weren't black anymore."
Raze now looked at me in confusion as I said with fear in my voice.
"They were something else." With tears running down my face, I broke down and covered up with my right arm. Raze let me go as I just cried into my forearm.
"Something else?" She then said as I looked back at her to nod.
With silence taking over I just let it out. I didn't know what was going on. But it was clear to me now that Raptor wasn't a normal man anymore. He was something else. Something he even said he was to me. It was still up in the air as to which yet. But the question was roaming in my head as Raze came back in to hold me in her arms as I continued to cry.
Was he a god? Or some kind of demon? With those eyes I saw...it's hard not wonder.
