Chapter 2
Finally.
Finally, he was out of the hospital. He only managed to convince the stubborn doctor to let him out of the hospital and again, he was grateful they exist but staying at the hospital meant people worry and that was something he wants to avoid.
(Though he did ignore the thought at the back of his head that said, 'if he did leave the hospital but aggravate his injuries, people would still worry so staying at the hospital might be the better choice.')
It was already the end of the school and he reckoned he'll get home in time. It was a good thing that Hiroshi was not at the same class he is and that meant that he doesn't know that he didn't went to school. Since, despite the teasing and bullying his classmate let him experience, he was pretty much still worth less than dust in their eyes, which even if he does disappear for a week, no one will notice unless they miss their favorite punching bag.
The walk between his house and the hospital was surprisingly short but this might have been the result of spacing out. Just as Tsuna was about to open the door, he immediately felt that something is about to happen, and he didn't like this feeling. Not. One. Bit.
Thoughts circulate in Tsuna's head as he tries thinking of ways to avoid the danger which? No, who –he just realized – is inside his house. Should he run or go somewhere else? Maybe he should ask a someone a favor or maybe-?
"How long are you planning on standing in front of the door, Dame-tsuna?" A voice resounded behind him but the way it was delivered had send Tsuna a chill on his spine. He slowly turned around and flinched when he saw the impatient and malice filled gaze of his younger twin brother's face. He bit his bottom lip to stop himself from speaking and even if did speak, his voice had not yet recovered from his brother's previous beating.
He quickly moved out in the way and opened the door for him. Then, he realized… Did he just put his brother in a world of pain that made hell feel like the North Pole?
A loud sound took his attention away from his thoughts as he hastily went inside, only to be greeted by the sight of his brother unconscious with a rather huge bump on his head.
Tsuna stared at the fallen form of his brother as he thought, Oh well. No use worrying about it now.
"Ciaossu!"
A baby called out. A baby. Then that means…
…Holy sh*t, the situation just got worst.
Of all things, he wasn't expecting Vongola to send the greatest hitman in the world to tutor the future heir of the said famiglia. He knew his father is the CEDEF advisor which entails that he's the external advisor of Nono and to the fact where he was the direct descendant of the founder of Vongola. Also, adding to the information that rumor of Nono finding a heir since all of his sons has passed…away—
Ah.
…or maybe with those facts he should have expected it.
Curse his brain for its tendencies of being distracted too easily.
Thought, if Reborn's here to train his brother to be Decimo, then that meant he'll get his twin brother off his back and that's a good thing – No, no, no! Don't try to push your brother on a one-way trip to hell! Don't get distracted! How is he supposed to deal with this situation?!
While he was freaking out internally, he was left staring at the baby with mixed emotions. The swirl of emotions in Tsuna's eyes hadn't escape the hitman's notice, deciding to address the issue in time but for now…
"I'm Reborn and starting from today, I'll be both your home tutor."
Of course, it's Hiro—Wait a minute…Did he just said both?!
It had been a minute when his brother woke up from his temporary nap and now, they're in his brother's room with Reborn in front of them. Also, he was not beside of his brother because he was 99.9% sure that if he did, he'll get hell for it and he didn't want that especially when his ribs were only beginning to heal. He doesn't need any more bruises. Thank you very much.
Hiroshi, by the time he woke up, immediately had been screaming to the heavens or in this case to Reborn, who look like he couldn't care less about what his brother was ranting until it gets too much for the baby's ears—which help Reborn decide his next actions.
"—how DARE you knock me out—"
"Shut up, Bakahoshi."
Reborn finally had enough and a huge hammer appeared in his hand and brought it down on his brother's head, who screamed in pain. Tsuna felt panic rise his chest as he immediately darted towards his brother but was stopped when a stick went between him and his brother. Tsuna let his eyes follow the stick to the one holding it.
"Unlike the last time, I held back a lot. Since I didn't realize that he was too weak." That sentence had Hiroshi forget all his pain and glared at the infant.
"Weak?! Listen here—If there's someone who's weak, that's Dame-Tsuna!"
"Lesson no.1: Respect your family, Bakahoshi!"
Hiroshi cried at pain once again, "Ack! Just who the hell are you?!"
"Weren't you listening a while ago?" Reborn asked despite knowing the answer already.
"You knocked me out!"
"I did?" Reborn asked innocently.
"Now you're pissing me off!"
Tsuna sweatdropped at the exchange but felt a bit nervous. If the situation drags on a bit longer, it might get pretty ugly and knowing his brother's temper only increased the possibility of the situation worsening.
He tugged his brother's sleeve and making Hiro's glare.
"Don't touch me, Dame-Tsuna!" He slapped Tsuna's hand away.
Tsuna ignored his brother and looked at Reborn, who understood (and for some reason he felt that this will be one of the rare times where he was entirely grateful for Reborn's mind reading or expression reading ability).
"Shut up Bakashi!" And down the hammer it goes.
"Ack! Damn—"
"One more word and I'll shoot."
"F*ck—"
BANG!
Reborn pulled the trigger and let the bullet pass his brother's head. Hiroshi froze as he stared at the smoking end of the gun, now realizing that the gun was in fact real.
"What was that?" Reborn asked with his fedora shadowing his eyes.
"A-anything you say shall be followed as if they were from the holy bible itself, sensei!" Hiroshi hurriedly squeaked in a small voice.
"That's what I though. Now, since everything's all civilized…"
Civilized? You mean this situation? Tsuna deadpanned then squeaked as he ducked at the bullet shot on his direction. "Don't get cheeky."
"My true line of work is assassination…but my real job is to make you two mafia boss material." Reborn continued as if he just didn't shoot a bullet to his future students.
The brothers stiffened in response. Both felt disbelief, panic and fear can be seen in their eyes but for an entirely different reason.
While Hiro was ecstatic to be a mafia boss (since that technically entails that he'll be rich and get to do whatever he wants), he still cannot believe that a baby is here to train him—a boy five (or ten) times his size—even if he did saw the baby's capability that a one or two year old baby shouldn't have. Pissed because Reborn clearly said 'both', which meant that his brother was also a candidate and he wasn't particularly happy with the fact. Resulting his expression to look as if he had eaten a bitter melon.
For Tsuna, however, he felt that Reborn's presence is enough to ruin some of his plans since this meant that he cannot have the freedom he had before and that does not spell good news for him. Tsuna suddenly felt the urge to sigh—Why must Lady luck hate him so? —but held his thought in for the sake of avoiding entering Reborn's gaze more than necessary.
(Thought for some reason, he felt that it was too late for that.)
Reborn studied the expression of his future students. He said that he was training 'both' which technically isn't a lie. But if he informed the younger twin that he was the top candidate (recommended by Iemitsu), he would only get cocky and overconfident. Both has the potential to be a mafia boss.
Hiroshi has an athletic body and has charisma, which could be seen his popularity in school. However, he's the type to care more about his personal safety rather than others (though he might be lacking a lot in the brain department). Bosses who are looking underneath the underneath despite there is nothing at all—will always live in fear and anxiety causing them to keep on doubting a person. There is also a possibility that he'll use his subordinates as if they were tools, which he realizes as he observes the brat's attitude towards his own brother.
A mafia boss might belong to the underworld and it might be normal for civilians to think that mafia bosses can act as tyrants in their famiglia, but that is not Reborn's ideal.
Reborn looked at the first born. Tsuna has poor grades, average athletic ability and a cowardly temperament. He has no friends and unable to achieve anything without tripping or making a fool out of himself…or that was like it was in the surface. There was nothing outstanding about him, but it was precisely because he can't find anything is what makes him draw to the brat's twin.
Reborn quirked his lips in amusement. Sawada Tsunayoshi seems to only show what he wanted to be seen.
When it comes to Tsuna's attitude, he has no problems with it. From his observation of the twins' interaction, he was the type to protect the people he loved despite their hostility towards him. This kind of person could accept others despite their differences. A kind-hearted young man but being too trustful could cause him to be unable to doubt someone, clouding his judgement and leading to his downfall in the future. That's why he would have to let him attend some fighting lessons. But there was still time to change their flaws and bad habits.
He did also notice that these twins are the exact definition of opposite. One was strong in mind but weak in body while the other has a healthy body but is like a 6-year-old kid with anger issues.
Well then…he always loves a challenge.
He expects Reborn to come to the Sawada Household but as he expects Tsuna's reaction, he didn't find it less funny. So, there he was laughing his ass off with the person at the other side of his phone could hear him loud and clear. Not that he cared.
A soft exasperated sigh escaped from the phone and said in a flat, slightly hoarse voice, "I'm glad my misfortune amuses you."
He snorts once more as he fell in another bouts of laughter. Soon, laughter turns to short chuckles. He took a deep breath, a smirk still evident in his features. "But seriously, what are you planning to do?"
"It's not like I can do anything but lay-low for a while."
"Aww. That's all?"
"Obviously. We can't drag somebody in any more than necessary."
"You know…" He pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes, thinking about his next words. "That's going to happen no matter what you do right?" A sound sounded from the phone. It looked like something had fell at the other side and the silence says enough that the other person is aware that he cannot control it from happening.
He sighed. Since when did I agree to babysit brats?
"I am aware," A shaky sigh sounded out from the phone. "but I'd rather have it happening later than let it happen today."
"Hey…"
"They are not ready. Neither is—"
"Nobody is truly ready for anything. You should be aware—no. You should know better than me that no one is truly prepared for anything. What you're doing is just stalling time." He took a deep breath and went for the finishing blow, "Are you running away…" Again?
"…That's a low blow."
Oh, I'm aware. He smiled widely as from the sigh at the other side of the phone, it looks like he managed to snap himself back to his old self. He heard a bit of scuffling and typing before he heard a voice.
"Change of plans…Start the preparations."
He chuckles.
"Yes, Boss."
"…and send some sun pills in. I'm a little injured and adding the fact that Reborn is in Namimori, I have a feeling that this injury would only hinder me from doing anything."
"Okie dokki! I send these really expensive and not yet on the market sun pills to help you out, dearie~"
There was silence on the line at the other end and a sigh. "Must you really…? Nevermind. Thank you for your help."
He bursted out laughing, "Sorry, sorry. Anyway, remember you need a full 24 hours before everything heals since I still haven't found the correct ratio that won't result on exploding chemicals to my face. So, don't do anything too excessive. Morning jogs are fine but try not to get beat up."
"Yes mom."
"…Don't call me that."

Little theatre:
"Another thing…"
"Yes, Boss?"
"Please stop placing your trash in the fridge, put it in a trash can." Please.
"No promises…Boss." That depends on my mood.
Sorry for the wait! I just finished my Year 12 and Year 12 is definetely not a joke. Anyway, Thanks for reading this book. ^_^
