Note: so, I finally added a Loki pov because that was long overdue. Let me know if you like the actual thoughts from who's pov it is or if you prefer how I've been writing it. As always, criticism and reviews are appreciated! Stay safe and enjoy.
Disclaimer: I do not own Avengers or the characters, I only own the story.
"Hi, come in. and please don't freak out when you see him." Steve says, guiding Banner through the house.
"Why would I freak out-"
Banner finally sees Loki, sprawled out on the couch. He clutches his bag of medical supplies tighter and runs over to Loki. quicker than Steve would have thought possible, he lays out everything on the coffee table next to the couch and begins cleaning Lokis wounds and putting ointment on them. Steve watches silently behind him, realizing what's happening. To Banner, this isn't Loki. This is a person who's suffering and in pain; and that's all the same to Banner.
He works for the next two hours, only stopping to wet a rag and put it over Loki's forehead when he starters to develop a fever. He finishes wrapping bandages around Loki early in the morning. By then, both Banner and Steve are tired and Loki hasn't woken up once. Exhausted, Banner sets a timer on his phone as a reminder to change out the bandages and slumps over the empty couch. He falls asleep instantly.
Steve tries to stay up longer, in hope that Loki will wake up soon, but after another hour's worth of time, he too has fallen asleep on the couch. The work and stress of recent events cause him to sleep longer than he's ever slept before- besides when he was frozen in ice. Little does he know, that later that morning a certain god finally wakes up…
Loki pov
The first thing he sees when he wakes up is Captain America and the Hulk sleeping on a couch in front of him. The next thing he sees is that all his wounds have been treated. All of them are wrapped in bandages, and feel better than they did before. Then, he realizes that he no longer has the muzzle over his mouth. He rubs his hand along his jawline and stretches his mouth up and down a few ties, trying to get rid of that terrible feeling of not being able to speak.
He could easily escape right now. They wouldn't even realize he had left till he was long gone. But then I wouldn't have anywhere to go, he realizes. He would have to find a way to survive on this awful planet, or risk getting got by Thor and anyone else searching for him. The pain would happen all over again, and that was something he wouldn't be able to live through twice. A sudden growl rings out in the room and Loki looks around carefully. First, he checks and makes sure that Steve and Banner are still asleep, and then he looks for the monster. It takes him a moment to realize that the sound is actually coming from his stomach.
He looks around for a kitchen of sorts or something holding food and spots a small area across the room that has a sink and some cabinets and decides that's probably where the food is. He tries to use his hand and push himself off the couch before falling back with a grunt. He groans when the scratches on his back hit against the couch and instantly regrets his decision. Suddenly, he remembers that he didn't lose his grip on the couch. The pain from his stomach becomes more increased and he guesses that he probably has broken ribs which is why he wasn't able to walk well before.
All of the noise Loki has been making causes Banner to wake up. He looks around, confused at where he is. But where he sees Loki and realizes that he's awake, he quickly gets up and gets to work. "Hey Loki, how ya feeling?"
Loki looks at him in alarm, "what do you want with me? I'll do anything… just, please don't jurt me."
"Loki, I'm not here to hurt you. Steve called me here to help you, and in order to do that, I'm going to need you to take off your shirt so that I can tend to your wounds. I didn't want to fix them while you were asleep."
"Y-you're not going to hurt me?"
"No, I'm not. So, will you please work with me?"
Loki looks at him cautiously, observing him to try and see if he's really telling the truth. Finally, he seems to give in and takes off his shirt. Banner grabs bandages, some ointment, and a bowl of water and rag. Carefully, he gets the tip of the rag wet and dabs it slowly on one of the scrapes. Loki shrinks back from the touch, and grunts when his back hits roughly against the couch. Banner sighs, "you have to trust me, okay? I promise I'm not here to hurt you. If I was going to do that we wouldn't have waited for you to get up or taken off the muzzle."
Loki nods and moves forward slightly to let Banner keep treating his wounds. Once again, Banner starts dabbing the rag on Loki's wound, more slowly this time. Loki whimpers, but doesn't move away. Banner finally manages to wrap bandages over all the scrapes on his chest and back. Loki continues to flinch every time Banner makes contact with him directly, but everything else goes smoothly. Banner is still pretty tired by the time all of the other bandages have been replaced, but he wants to make sure Loki is fine before he sleeps. "You need anything else?"
"Umm… do you have any… food that I can eat?"
"Oh yeah. I think Steve should have some stuff in his fridge. What do you want…" he walks over to the kitchen and pulls open the refrigerator door, looking through its contents and naming them. "There's some celery… apples… pizza-"
"What's Pizza?"
"You've… never had pizza? What do they have on Asgard?"
"Mostly meats…"
"Well, there's some pepperoni pizza. Let me get you a slice."
Banner grabs two slices of the leftover pizza and sticks it on a plate before microwaving it. When he sets it in front of Loki, he looks at is suspicious. He even pokes it a few times for good measure. Banner laughs, "no, eat it. Like this…" he picks up a slice and acts like he's eating it to show Loki how. Loki grabs the other slice and mimics Banner's motions to take a bite. He keeps it in his mouth a moment, getting the full taste, before swallowing and eating the rest. After he's finished the first, he downs the second. Banner sits back and watches him eat both slices. "You need anything else?"
"No, I'm going to… sleep now."
"Okay, well good night."
Loki nods at the man before curling up in a ball and falling asleep against the armrest. Banner chuckles to himself at the sight of the man who had been trying to take over the world so vulnerable. Then, he sits back on the other couch and falls asleep.
