Disclaimer: I own none of the characters in this story just the plot. I couldn't make two as horny charcters as these two shits even if I tried.

Dazai didn't understand why Kouyou-san wanted him among all people to go to Chuuya's favorite wine bar due to some rather stereotypical inciting occurence on Chuuya's drunken state. Dazai was tired of picking up Chuuya whenever his irrational unsobered state got the better of him and more so, he didn't understand why he needed to take care of some stupid pipsqueak on his last day in the Port Mafia. But Kouyou-san insisted, due to him leaving, one last favor to do on her part because she had to go to a secluded hiding place of an enemy organization for a mission for Mori. Even though Dazai knew that there was no mission assigned and Kouyou-san simply didn't want to deal with Chuuya or some other hidden reason, Dazai agreed since he had such lack of energy to disarm her request.

Now he was getting out of one of Yokohama's taxis to see the wine bar's cozy and welcoming front, which seemed to make a mockery of Dazai's mood after Oda's death and Ango's sudden but much predicted betrayal. But Dazai preserved any sanity to make his posture composed. Which to say bluntly, it was harder than to commit permanent suicide. But he still opened the bar's doors.

When inside, it felt like moving from one universe to another. At least, that's what Dazai felt every time he saw that redheaded shortie. Dazai truly must hate Chuuya's guts because there was no one who could make him anxious like he could.

The only thing that Nakahara's mouth could language in was screaming and cursing which seemed to freeze him for some inaudible reason. But what made him move was the unrequited confused faced bartender who Chibi's screeching was directed at.

Dazai forcibly put on one of his very infamous flamboyant grins that seemingly annoyed his soon-to-be ex-partner daily and walked confidently up to him, leaving footsteps sounds behind him. "Dearest Chibi, you perplex me in every way utterly possible. You always find a reason to trouble me even to my last day. Now I have to rescue you fr-"

Chuuya's head turned abruptly from the bartender to cut Dazai's sentence off. "Oh shut the fuck up, Dazai, as I fucking see it, I never asked you to come! I mean, if you're gonna leave without a goodbye, you should probably do it now!"

"Chuuya-" Dazai said to scrap some witty remark that didn't make him sound vulnerable and overall a horrible person, but faltered.

"You know how I found out?! Ane-san told me! Oh, couldn't figure you care much though since you call me every fucking name in the goddamn fucking book, make fun of my fucking stature, and cut me out of your damn life entirely even on fucking missions! I'm fucking pissed that even if I fucking try to convince myself this partnership wasn't fucking worth anything but I always come back caring!" Chuuya exhaled all emotion until he calmed to a more sadden expression as he sat back down on his circular chair and said "Was I anything to you at all? Would you even fucking miss me if you left-"

Dazai's brain was full of commotion because the last thing he wanted to deal with today (or any day in actuality) was his feelings about Chuuya. It was the hardest question Dazai had ever faced and one of the few he couldn't answer. Dazai tried to build up a courageous exterior and say some avoidant retort but it all dissolved as the words "Yes" came out of his mouth.

In which, came both of their surprises. Chuuya flustered as the shrimp turned away and Dazai took a seat on the opposite side of the room in case Chuuya decided to punch him, he'd have time to run. "Oh, blushing? Wow, you must really miss me." Dazai grinned

"Don't get used to it" Chuuya turned away to his glass of wine and sipped it.

THE NEXT DAY:

Dazai groggy woke up in a bed.

Linen. Soft. I think Chuuya may like it. Maybe I should buy him wine to drink on this bedsheet. Wait- Chuuya-

He woke up immediately to his side Chuuya. He got out of bed rather fast without waking Chuuya. He didn't want Chuuya to remember what happened the day before. As long, as Dazai didn't wake him up, he'd probably assume he had a one night stand with an unfamiliar being. Dazai guessed that because Chuuya was almost always blacked out by his third glass of wine.

He rather leave things as it was before than to give Chuuya false hope about anything concerning him. As it stood, Dazai was too deep in the water to drag Chuuya down with him.

And suddenly it clicked why Kouyou-san would insist on him taking care of Chuuya. He was obviously furious by Dazai's actions and more so by the idea of him not telling Chuuya. Kouyou-san had to make him confront his problems. In this relationship, he almost never wanted to do it.

He put on his clothes, a trenchcoat, a blazer, a white shirt, and light brown khakis. He changed his style entirely the moment he decided he didn't want to be in the Port Mafia anymore for all except the bandages. The bandages were soaked in sweat but Dazai couldn't change them until later so he just put his clothes over them anyways. Then Dazai cleared all possible evidence it was him who came over last night before whispering gently in Chuuya's ear,

"I'm gonna miss you"

"Ugh, go away" said tired Chuuya in his sleep.

And that Dazai did with the implication that he planted a bomb in Chuuya's car to think it obviously wasn't him. But he was sure Chuuya wouldn't get injured because the amount of wine he drank would cause a three day hangover and Chuuya would call in sick for work. Even if he did, Chuuya would probably miss it like all of Dazai's attacks.

Afterwards, Dazai walked downtown to the nearest cafe to buy a coffee. In which, he had to open his wallet to pay for. He saw a picture of Chuuya's wildly annoyed face as Dazai was picking on him. He kept it to irritate Chuuya due to his absolute hatred of the photo. But just as he saw Chuuya's face, he cried for the first time in a long time, which he didn't even do at Oda's funeral.

FIVE YEARS LATER DUE TO SOME INCIDENT THAT MADE CHUUYA AND DAZAI HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER

"You know what, I fucking hate you" Chuuya said "You left without saying goodbye now you're asking me to watch with you turtles fucking."

Dazai's head turned from the computer screen to Nakahara's solemn face and took off his headsets. "It's called turtle reproduction, not fucking. Watching such things is the rudest thing a human can do, Chuuya. Geez-"

"Ugh-" Chuuya sounded and sat flatly on the couch next to them "I honestly wish I could celebrate the first day of you not working with me. But I had such a bad hangover and had my virginity vanished on a one night stand. Not to mention, you blew up my car."

Dazai forced himself to not grin happily from Chuuya's words as he remembered that night. So instead, he focused his attention to the computer screen. "Well, that must be fun."

Chuuya's arm then lifted him up a bit with his hair moving accordingly with his body and said, "Yea, but I still wonder who it was."

"No one you have to know. No one you have to know, Chuuya." Dazai said stony-worded then changed to a playful attitude, "Chuuya, are you gonna watch with me or not?!"

"Oh fuck off" Chuuya said as he laid back down.
