Metal Sonic left and went back to the security camera room after seeing the blank stare on his prisoners faces. If he could smile, he'd have a sinister smile on his face as he was thinking ways to get the information he wanted out of both of them. But of course, his orders were simple : hold the 2 girls until it was time to bring them to Dr. Robotnik. After Metal left, Quinn looked at Ally and said "Well, the more we learn, I guess." Ally simply nodded as they examined the writing on the wall. "Looks like whoever was in here had a lot of time on their hands to write all of this down." Quinn said as she took photos of every single writing on the wall. After taking all of the photos, she looked around. "Ugh, I need to send these off to Kelsey and Zoey somehow." Ally looked at Quinn and said "Oh, yeah! I haven't seen them since I moved to Station Square as well! How are they doing?" Quinn smiled as she grabbed her backpack and started looking for her communication devices. " Oh, they're doing good," she said as she pulled her headset out and looked at Ally, "we all became GUN agents. But of course, the first day didn't go so well as Westopolis fell and keeping a low profile with all these robots around is not easy." Ally stopped on the dime and stared at Quinn as ice filled her eyes. It was as if she was frozen in fear. "Wait," she said as she looked at Quinn, "did you say robots?" Quinn nodded.
"Yeah, I said robots," Quinn said "a massive army of them. They came led by... ugh, I don't know, someone or something. Anyway, the robot army came, stormed GUN Headquarters, trashed the rest of Westopolis... and then Empire City and the rest of the United Federation." The ice cold fear Ally had was soon replaced with fire hot anger. "I only know one person would have an army the size that you mentioned : Dr. Robotnik." Quinn looked at Ally "I saw that name on the name on the journal entry I read before you came into the base back in Mystic Ruins! I think there's a connection here. Let me get Kelsey and Zoey caught up and on the same page." She grabbed her backpack and started rummaging through it. Ally looked over in curiosity to see what Quinn was looking for. Quinn smiled as she pulled out her headset. "Alright, just need to set up comm lines. but first... where is my... oh, there it is! My Dream Cast! Oh, boy, thank goodness that Meteotech makes all the tech devices, otherwise, we'd be be in hot water." Quinn said as smiled and set her device up as Ally stayed on the look out for Metal Sonic. But he never came around to check on them. Ally gave Quinn the thumbs up and Quinn dialed up Kelsey over in Spagonia.
Kelsey heard her Dream Cast, the cell phone made by Meteotech, going off and she answered it. "Hello? Kelsey speaking. Who's calling?" Quinn smiled and said "Kesley! haiii! It's Quinn! How's everything in Spagonia?" Kesley smiled and jumped onto the bed. "Everything is great," Kesley said as she got herself all sprawled out on the bed. "Lay it on me, what do you got?" Quinn said to her "Well, I got a couple of things for you. First off, we made some miscalculations with the geography." Kesley said "Yeah, tell me about it. We thought Spagonia was one continent over from Empire City..." she was cut off by Quinn. "No. Not Empire City. United Federation." Kesley looked at her phone "Oh, whoops! We got the city and continent mixed up somewhere along the road! I'm surprised nobody corrected us on that. But yeah, we had to take a flight across the ocean to get to Spagonia, but let me tell you, this is the place for a romantic getaway date!" Quinn looked at her phone and then said "Right, I'll take you up on that if and when we get out of this mess. Anyway, I got a name for you look up." Kelsey, ignoring the first the first comment Quinn made grabbed the notepad. She'll probably think about it later, but right now, there was work to do? "Alright, I got a notepad," Kesley said as she grabbed her pen, "give me the name you got." Quinn looked at Ally. Once Ally gave her the thumbs up, Quinn said "Dr. Robotnik is the name." Kelsey wrote it down and "Alright, I got the name written down. So when are you going to get here?" Quinn said "Kesley, that might take a while because I'm being held captive by one of Robotnik's goons on the abandoned Prison Island in the United Federation."
"Alright, I'll give Zoey the scoop on your situation and we'll try and rally back home as soon as possible." They said their farewells and hung up. Not long after Kesley hung up, Zoey came walking in from her shopping trip. "What a day of shopping! I got new clothes for all 3 of us and... Oh, I hope Quinn likes the outfit I picked for her." Kesley put her finger up and said "Save the outfits. Quinn's hit a snag on her side of the plan." "Well, that's not good," Zoey said with concerns for her friend, "where is she?" Kelsey said "She was doing work in the United Federation when she and our friend Ally got caught and dragged away to Prison Island." Zoey looked over at her "Prison Island? You mean that massive secured Island that blew up in 2001 and has remained dormant for almost 2 decades?" Kesley nodded and said, "Yep. That's the one. We also got a name to look up. Quinn gave us the name Dr. Robotnik." Kelsey said "Well, leave it to Quinn to get information in places we least expect it. But I still want to know how she got on Prison Island."
Meanwhile, in White Jungle, Alex, Fletch, and Claw were sitting in a tree and keeping an eye for any of Robotnik's goons from their vantage point. "I can't believe Prison Island is still standing after almost 2 decades of being untouched!" Claw said as he kept his eyes and ears open to any possible threat. Fletch replied to Claw by saying "Yeah, word among other agents is that the United Federation actually wanted to keep a low profile of Prison Island, so the President said that no repairs would be made." Alex said "Yeah, I've heard that one. Another one I heard is that the costs of repairs were so astronomical, the President decided it wasn't worth putting resources into it so they left it abandoned. Hard to tell which story is the right one. Nor does that matter right now." Alex i was right about that, because they had more important matters at hand. They came to Prison Island because they were on the run from Robotnik and his army of badniks that were in charge of overseeing the Federation, where Central City, the capital of the United Federation, would serve as the capital city of Robotnik's empire.
"How many days has it been since the attack of GUN HQ?" Claw asked out of curiosity. It sure did feel like forever ago when the GUN HQ had fallen. Alex looked at his teammate and said "Let's see, we managed to clear out when we knew we were outgunned and out matched and hopefully our comrades did as well... as for how long it's been? I'd say it's been 5 days too many." Fletch looked over and piped up "What I don't get is why Robotnik went for the United Federation first and not somewhere like... say Holoska, which would be a way easier target to take over, it wouldn't send a message." Alex watched the skies with his binoculars and said to Fletch "Oh, I know why : he knows that if he takes the United Federation out first, it'd show the might and power of his army. In return, that hypothetically would mean the other continents will surrender to Robotnik's rule without much hesitation." Claw replied with "speaking of sending a message, do you think he killed Sonic? We haven't seen him in the same amount of time it took Robotnik to floor mop the United Federation." Alex shook his head. "Nah, Sonic's not dead. What most likely happened is that Robotnik is holding him and waiting for the perfect time to..." his voice trailed off as he saw Metal Sonic headed right for them at what appeared to be terminal velocity speeds. "Uh, guys..." Alex said as he started to grab his weapons, "gear up and get ready to run. Metal Sonic is 600 meters out and closing in on our location FAST."
Metal Sonic honed in on the tree the Alpha Force team's location and used his overdrive to knock the branch down. While yes, he hit the branch, he missed his targets completely as they perfectly timed their jump and took off deeper into the jungle with Metal Sonic hot on their heels. Not exactly how it was supposed to go, but there was nothing they could do about it now. "How did Metal even see us," Claw yelled as Fletch grabbed his grapple hook and fell back as he aimed his grapple hook at a tree branch. "You guys go," Fletch hollered as he came to a stop, " I'll provide cover fire!" Before Alex and Claw could object, Fletch had already fired off his grapple hook and was headed up for the branch he aimed at. Alex looked over at a worried Claw and said with confidence "Fletch is gonna be fine! We gotta keep moving!" Didn't need to say that twice as Metal was still hot on their heels. High up from his vantage point, Fletch reached into his bag and grabbed his sniper rifle, pistol, bow and arrows, dagger, a grenade, and mines. "If I'm gonna be providing cover fire," he said to himself as he loaded his up sniper and put arrows in his quiver and made sure he put his weapons in their appropriate pockets on his GUN issued bullet proof vest, "then I'm gonna be doing this right!"
Aiming down the sights and having a solid lock on his target, Claw let loose and fired off a barrage of bullets, with the intent of hitting his target, to distract Metal from going after Alex and Claw. That was easier done than said as he hit Metal a couple of times. Coming to a stop, Metal started scanning the area to figure out who shot him and where the shots came from while Alex was busy reloading and setting up to rain some more hellfire on Metal. After he was done reloading and setting up, Fletch was about to let loose again when Metal spotted him. Metal came right for Fletch at high speed and all Fletch did was smile. "Got you!" he hollered as he fired off his first shot and jumped. He landed on the ground feet first and looked up to see Metal Sonic coming down and not looking very happy to see his target still standing. Fletch bolted off in the last known direction he saw Alex and Claw running off. "You're not getting away, you puny rodent! Robotnik will have your head for this, rebel scum!" Claw came to a stop and hid behind a tree. Metal came to a stop and looked around, his audio and visual receptors on high alert for where his target was. "There's no use in hiding. Show yourself!" Claw responded to Metal Sonic's demands by pulling the pin on a smoke grenade and throwing it. This left Metal blinded by the smoke and Fletch was able to knock him down with his martial arts skills before bolting off in the direction of his teammates.
Metal got back up and went after Fletch, this time even angrier than he was before, and he was not having it from Fletch. Fletch had made great ground and thought he'd be in the clear when he reached a cliff in an open area where there were no trees around. Metal stopped when he saw Fletch. It seemed like the end of the road for Fletch. The rebel had been caught and now it would be time to drag him into the prison cell with the other rebel he already had imprisoned. Fletch had to think fast. One false move and he gonna fall off the cliff and possibly sustain some injuries or worse, meet an untimely demise. But if he did nothing, Metal Sonic was gonna grab him and throw him in prison. Fletch grabbed the mines from his vest and Metal took off to go get his target. Closing his eyes Fletch activated the mines and threw them in Metal Sonic's direction and grabbed his bow and arrows. He aimed for the mines he had just thrown and right before he jumped, he fired the arrow, which hit the mine and set off an explosion that sent Metal Sonic backwards and tumbling back into the jungles. While falling, Fletch started doing fancy tricks in the air to slow down his momentum right before he hit the water. When Fletch re-surfaced, he went into his bag, which was now soaking wet, grabbed his snorkel and googles, and started swimming towards the nearest body of land : Metal Harbor.
About a half an hour later, Claw and Alex had climbed up a ladder that had brought them onto the docks of Metal Harbor. With no sign of Metal Sonic, they could finally take a breather. But it was almost short lived as they heard splashing water. Who or what was making that sound? The splashing soon subsided and was followed by the sound of the ladder being climbed on. Alex and Claw readied their pistols and made their way to the the ladder. They stopped when they saw bag land on the docks. This was followed by Claw finishing his climb up the ladder. After he made it onto the harbor, Fletch collapsed from the exhaustion of having to swim from White Jungle to Metal Harbor, a swim that takes 1 hour to complete. After coming back to his senses, Fletch sat up and looked around. "My goodness," Fletch said as Alex helped him up, "that was a hell of a trial by fire if I ever been though one before!" Alex patted his teammate on the back and said "Gutsy call on your part, Fletch. I'm just glad it worked out." They started walking along the harbor and seeing just how much damage the explosion from 2001 caused. It looked more like a junkyard than it did an island. "Seen anything like it?" Alex asked as they as searched the harbor. Claw and Fletch shook their heads as they all walked along the harbor amid the rubble when Alex held his hand up. He heard more footsteps, and Alex pulled out his laser rifle, which was to GUN standards for all high tech hand weaponry and he began searching every shadow as he walked. He stopped when he heard the footsteps again and he aimed his weapon in direction he heard the footsteps coming from. "I know where you are," Alex said as he kept his eye on the scope and his finger on the trigger, "I mean no harm. I do not want to use my weapon at all. Calmly and slowly step out of the shadows and show yourself." Very soon a wolf stepped out from the shadows and Alex lowered his weapon when he saw who exactly it was. "Whisper? What are you doing here?" Alex asked he sat down next to his weapon. Whisper only said one word. The word she said was "Friend."
Back in Remnant, Sonic was sitting on a bed in team RWBY's room at Beacon Academy looking out the window. He had chosen to stay at Beacon for a big reason : he recently had a conversation with Blake where Sonic received a dire warning from her. That warning being that there would two sides out to get him to have their own agendas met : one side being the military and the other side being a group known as the "White Fang." Sonic didn't ask what the White Fang was nor did he need Blake to say any more when she said they were a group of bad people. But that warning Blake give him wasn't on his mind at the moment.
Sonic was thinking about home. He hadn't seen his home world in 5 days, and he sure did miss it. He had loops and cork screws to run through, ramps to jump and do crazy trick combos off of, rails to grind on, and more importantly. But it was more than just home he was missing. He was missing his friends as well. In fact, now that he thought about it, Little Planet was about to make it's yearly visit to Sonic's world and Sonic had promised Ally he'd take her up there to the lake Little Planet hovers over. It wasn't going to be a date per say, but Sonic wouldn't pass up the chance to hang out with his friends. Heck, he might actually get lucky and rekindle his relationship with her.
Sonic snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a loud crash coming from outside. 'What was that?' he thought to himself got up and walked over to the window and looked outside, wondering what made the sound of the crash he had just heard. He saw Ruby lying on the ground looking like a mess. He rushed out of the room and out of Beacon to check up on Ruby when she looked up and saw Sonic's hand outstretched to her. She grabbed Sonic's hand as Yang walked over. "Ruby! Are you okay?" Sonic looked over at Ruby as she dusted herself off. "Yeah, I'm fine, Yang. You just really need to learn to not swing so hard on the final blow in our sparring matches. On that note, I'm gonna go shower." As Ruby walked of Sonic went with her. "Yang is a great sister, but she hits with the power of a dust bomb." Ruby said to Sonic as they walked back into Beacon. "A dust bomb? How do you even weaponize dust?" Ruby had to explain to Sonic that the dust she was referring to powered everything in Remnant and came in 2 forms : crystallized and powdered. She also stated that dust could only be triggered by the aura of the inhabitants of Remnant. "Well, I learn something new about Remnant every day." Sonic said as Ruby headed off to the showers. Sonic headed back to the dorm room. When he got there, he sat on the bed just as Blake walked into the room.
