"Hey, Sonic," Blake said as she walked over to the window and stood in front of it, "how are you doing?" Sonic looked at Blake and said "Oh, I'm doing good. All things considered. Just missing home. Lots of things to do there." Blake did her best to hold back laughter as she closed her eyes and smiled. She opened her eyes a few seconds later to see the sunset. For the first time in days, Blake finally had a moment of peace and quiet. The moment was short lived as before she could get a chance to soak in the moment, Yang came in and grabbed her. Yang grabbed Blake and dragged her out of the room so fast, it made Sonic do a double look as Ruby walked in. "Hey," Ruby said as she had just finished brushing her hair, "have you seen Blake?"
Sonic simply shrugged and said to Ruby "Last time I saw Blake, she was by the window. And then she got dragged away. It happened so fast, I didn't see who or WHAT dragged her away." Ruby, clearly unamused with Sonic's answer, came to the rather logical conclusion that it was Yang who dragged her away. Ruby simply thanked Sonic and walked out of the room. As Ruby was walking down the halls of Beacon to find Blake, Weiss saw her and said "Hey, Ruby!" This sudden response caused Ruby to jump, nearly knocking Weiss down in the process. "Oh, uh... hi Weiss. I didn't see you there. I take it you're looking for Blake too?" Weiss nodded and said "I need to warn her about this Sonic character. I don't trust him." Looking at her confused, Ruby said "Has Sonic done anything to prove he's not trust worthy?"
Weiss shook her head "No, but he hasn't done anything to prove he's trust worthy either." Ruby was going to counter what Weiss said with the fact that Sonic took down that grimm in the town five days ago completely by himself, but now wasn't the time or place to be bickering about that. Right now, they needed to find Blake, who Ruby assumed was with Yang. Before the duo of Ruby and Weiss could even take one step, they head a familiar voice saying "Oh, look at the lovebirds over there! It's so cute!" Ruby looked and saw it was Yang, who was with Blake. "Oh, there you are, Blake!" Weiss said as she was trying wave off anything Ruby was going to say. "We were wondering if..." Ruby cut Weiss off and said "We were wondering if you wanted to go get ramen bowls from our favorite food vendor." Blake smiled and said "Oh, that's a tempting offer, but we're going to have to pass on that."
Yang nodded and said "Well, you seem Blake and I are heading up to a hotel for the weekend because we're meeting our boyfriends up there. But we can go on Monday. Sound cool?" Ruby nodded and with that Blake and Yang left Beacon. Weiss looked at the door with a look of massive concern in her eyes. "First off, did Yang seriously, and I mean 100% seriously, call us lovebirds? And 2nd off, Ruby, did what Yang say NOT convince you that Blake likes Sonic?" Ruby shook her head, unconvinced that Blake would do something like fall in love with someone she just met 5 days ago. Before Ruby could say what she was thinking, Weiss added "And since were there hotels in Remnant?" Ruby stopped and had to think about that, but Weiss was right. Hotels? Those were non-existent in Remnant. Now even she was suspicious. And when did Yang and Blake get a boyfriend? Yang always tells Ruby everything, so for her to not say anything about it until now? Yeah, now Ruby was curious. "Okay, Weiss." Ruby said as she grabbed Weiss' hand without realizing it, "I say we go find out what's really going on." Weiss was going to respond, but Ruby didn't give her a chance as Weiss was dragged out the door by Ruby and it left Sonic in a wide open, and very vacant Beacon Academy.
While all of that was going on, Sonic was chilling out. If he was going to be stuck in Remnant for a while, might as well get comfortable and make it home for now; however, it was not going to be easy and he knew it. Especially since he knew Robotnik had all 7 chaos emeralds and was chipping away at ruling over his home. It was going to be a restless night when he heard what he thought were footsteps outside. He opened the window, ready to jump in case. As if it was cue, the footsteps grew louder and multiplied. Sonic jumped out the window and made a break for the nearest cave he could find at top speed. He stayed hidden as he watched the foot soldiers head towards Beacon.
For the Remanent military, this was their first chance to capture the blue alien. Once they got the word from Ironwood to go get the alien, they stormed Beacon and searched every single room, but they didn't find what they were looking for. When the foot soldiers saw that Beacon was empty, they left to find the alien, and by Ironwood's orders, leave no stone unturned. After they had left, Beacon was quiet again. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The silence was short lived as the sound footsteps running down the hall could be heard echoing through the empty halls. This was followed by a door slamming. That was way too close for Sonic's liking and he was also not keen on finding out what they'd do to him if they caught him. 'Wait a minute...' he thought to himself as he looked up at the moon, 'if they can't find me, then they're going to go after Ruby and her friends!' He knew he had the speed to stop them from going after team RWBY, but at the same time, this would also put him in a bad spot as the people of Remnant would see him as a threat and he wanted them to know he means no harm to Remnant. All he was trying to do was get back home.
While Sonic was relaxing back at Beacon after his near run-in with the military, Ruby and Weiss were tailing Blake and Yang because they were very suspicious of what they were told by their teammates. Things didn't add up and they had to figure out what was really going on. Making sure they stayed at least 20 feet behind and out of sight, Ruby and Weiss continued to trek through the woods in the dark while trying to avoid running into trees and bushes and trying not to trip over branches and each other. In fact, at one point, Ruby nearly fell on top of Weiss because they were trying to traverse through a dark area. They stopped when they saw Blake and Yang head into a place that was all too familiar to them. "Hey, wait…" Ruby trailed off and never finished. They had just made a full circle all the way to and from Beacon. Weiss was unimpressed by this as she snapped with "They went in a full circle back to Beacon? Why did they do that?!" Ruby had no answers, but now the task was to find out which room Blake and Yang went into. That was going to be easier said than done considering how many rooms Beacon had. They started by peeking through the windows of the main floor. No good, the lights were out. To Ruby and Weiss, it seemed as if finding anything out was not going to happen. That was until Weiss tapped Ruby's shoulder and pointed at a dim light flickering from the cafeteria window. Without making too much noise, they raced over to the dimly lit window. They peeked inside and saw Yang and Blake having dinner… alone. No guys showed up. They knelled onto the ground. "This is not normal." Ruby said to Weiss as she brushed her hair out of her face. "Yang always tells me everything. It would've made sense for them to tell us they just wanted to have quality friend time…" Weiss peeked into the window and came back down instantly, and she had a shade of green on her face. "Uhhhhh… you might want to look again because I *just* saw them kissing." Weiss said as she sagged onto the ground with a look of disgust on her face, almost like her face turned a shade of green. Ruby looked up and she didn't see any of this kissing nonsense Weiss was talking about. Because when Ruby looked, both Blake and Yang were eating the dinner that they had made.
About 20 minutes later, Weiss came back to her senses. "Are they still kissing or…" she asked Ruby as Ruby kneeled to the ground. "I didn't see any of the kissing you were talking about; however, I will say that dinner they had looked really good. It looked like they had pancakes, hash browns, and bacon." Weiss simply dusted herself off and looked at Ruby. "Ruby, trust me when I say this : I saw them kissing with my own eyes." Ruby looked up at the window and saw that the lights were out and added, "and it looks like that they just finished eating. The lights are out." Weiss looked through the window as well. "Well, now what do we do?" We clearly have nothing to go on to find out what they're up to." Ruby was leaning against the wall with a hesitant look on her face as she said "I know we shouldn't pry into their business, but I am worried about them…" she trailed off as she walked around the right side of the building. Weiss followed her 3 seconds later and they saw light shining in from a room. They walked over curiously and peered into the window to see what caused such a bright light. Weiss turned to Ruby and her mouth was partially opened. "W-what was that?!" She exclaimed as Ruby looked at her rather confused. "I'm confused. What exactly did you see, Weiss?" She puts a hand on ruby's shoulder. "Ruby… What i have seen… Can't be unseen…" Okay, *now* Ruby was curious and peered into the window and she sagged to the ground. "My eyyyyyyes! They buuuuuuuurn!" Ruby exclaimed loud enough for only Weiss to hear it. Weiss shakes her head. "I warned you, but did you listen? noooooo!" Ruby sighs heavily. "Lets go.." Shortly afterwards, Blake and Yang walked over to Ruby and Weiss. "Hey, are you two okay?" Blake said with concern in her voice. "Yeah, you both look like you saw a ghost." Yang said with an equal amount of concern in her voice.
"I don't know what we saw, but whatever it was, it was NOT a ghost!" Weiss said as she was rubbing her eyes. Ruby explained to Yang what had happened and Yang said "Oh, I missed that? Dammit, sorry I missed out. I woulda been laughing my ass off." "Glad to see YOU found that to be funny!" Weiss retorted as Sonic poked his head out the door, looking rather grumpy. "Hey uhhhh… could you all keep it down? I'm trying to catch a snooze cruise here." he snapped as he slammed the door behind him. After Sonic slammed the door, Blake looked at Weiss "Wait, did you say something about me and Yang kissing in the cafeteria?" Weiss nodded and Yang said "Oh, honey, you shoulda seen it when the lights went off." Ruby turned a very visible shade of green while Blake and Yang sat there laughing. As she was laughing, Blake also turned a deep shade of red, almost as if she was a tomato as Weiss said "Yes, okay, we get it! You both are an item but you didn't have to go into THAT much detail!" "Ohhhhh, yeah!" Yang said as she did her signature twin pistol finger pose.
Meanwhile, back in Sonic's world, Alex was having a conversation with Whisper, trying to get information. Once he got what he wanted, he motioned over to Claw and Fletch to rally on him. Taking a slow, easy, and steady pace, the Alpha Force was a unit once again. "Well, what do we got?" Fletch asked as he continued scanning the remains of Prison Island. "Well," Alex said as he looked at his notes he had on his Dreamcast, "Whisper's best friend, Tangle, on the island and locked in one of the cells. But that's not all. She also told me that there are apparently 2 G.U.N agents locked up in a cell as well." Claw threw his hands up in celebration and relief. "Finally," he said as grabbed his headset and loaded his weapons, "That's the best piece of news we've received since this gate of hell opened up." Alex nodded and looked over to Whisper. "Don't worry, Whisper. We'll find your friend." Whisper pointed her staff at Alex and responded with "I'll go too." Fletch looked at Alex. "She did tip us on the agents." Alex said as he was putting his gear together, "and Tangled is her best friend after all. Leaving her alone would be a mistake." Alex looked at Claw, who simply gave him a thumbs up before Alex looked back at Whisper. "Alright, Whisper, gear up, we're gonna bust your friend out of here." Whisper jumped to her feet and right after she got up, she turned around hearing the familiar sound of a robotic voice chip. She looked up and saw Metal headed for the group. "Run." Whisper said as she took off in a frenzy. Alex turned around trying to figure out why Whisper was saying run, that was until then he saw Metal gunning for them. "Guys, if we don't get moving, we're gonna become Metal Sonic chow!" It didn't take Alex saying that twice for the group to get moving. And the chase around the Metal Harbor was on after that.
