Chapter Twenty-eight
The days flew by at the Vongola Mansion. The guardians of the Decimo were welcomed warmly. Tsuna kept his silence and the Vongola mafiosi respected this. But they noticed one thing, Tsuna never talks to them not unless necessary. If possible, the message is relied by Basil, his rain guardian. He is only seen with Basil in the corridor, talking deeply about something, and when one guardian tried to interact, the boss will excuse himself and escape to the confines of his office or room. He was very professional to them, unlike how he treats the whole family.
Klaus stared at Osamo who is panting in front of him. The cloud was asked to have a spar with them, turns out a disappointment though. He had only fought one mafioso, and he hadn't land an attack. A lot of them shook their heads in dismay. They were told to never compare these guardians to those who were harmonized to Tsuna, but they couldn't help it. Kyouya Hibari, the aloof yet possessive cloud that drifts just within the sky's reach, is far more powerful in terms of strength, protectiveness, viciousness and bloodlust. The skylark can beat a lot of them with just his fists. If the tonfas are dangerous, his hand-to-hand combat ranked top too. The way he glared or even looked at them with boredom is so petrifying that they couldn't move their legs not until the cloud moves and their instincts kicked in.
Yes. That how dangerous Tsunayoshi's friend is. And never get them started on the others.
"Kid. You can go." Klaus shooed away. "They might be looking for you."
Osamo just nodded and limped away. Klaus sighed and was about to face his fellow men when he felt his instinct tingled. He raised his hands and caught one powerful punch that made him stagger backwards in impact. He looked at his attacker.
The man is in a gardener's green jumper with a white shirt inside. His straw hat is covering his eyes but the way he stood tells different stories. Klaus went on defense as the man started to give some fast jabs on his way. Many whistled and shouted as he fought to at least land a blow on the man who stepped up to spar with him. Alas... He couldn't.
"I was only gone for a month and you already became weak, carnivore. Are you getting old?" The man insulted as he stood in front of him.
Klaus chuckled, recognizing the animal analogy. "No. I was distracted."
"Hn. I'll bite you to death then."
"No!" Klaus shouted as he backed away. The others laughed at his cowardice.
The man glared at them. "Don't tell the stupid omnivore."
"Yes, Sir!" They all chorused.
The man turned around and walked towards the garden when someone called out for him.
"Ah, Signore?"
"Tsunayoshi!" Klaus acknowledged, giving the man a heads up.
"Hi Klaus! What happened? Why are you talking to Signore-"
"Albert?" One mafioso supplied.
Tsuna tilted his head in confusion. "Eh?"
Most laughed at the show of innocence.
"Where's Sir Gary?" The brunet asked.
"Gary is sick, Decimo." 'Albert' answered.
"Oh. Is he okay? Can I visit him?" Tsuna asked worriedly.
"He'll be fine, Decimo." Then 'Albert' angled his body to look at the boss. "What can I help you with?"
"Oh. It's nothing. I was going to ask Sir Gary if he prepared the flowers that we're planning to put inside the house."
"I can prepare them."
Tsuna's face lit up in a new different level. "Really? Thank you, Signore Albert."
The man nodded. "Follow me, Decimo."
Tsuna waved at them as he followed Albert. Klaus chuckled before calling out to the disguised gardener.
"Hey, Albert!" The man looked at him by his shoulder. "He isn't in your level at all!"
"Yeah!" The others agreed.
"Hmm." The man's only reply but the smirk that made its way to his lips tells otherwise.
"They're finally here." One of them voiced out as they stared at the walking pair.
"Yes. And we need to do our best to help them." Klaus seconded before smiling. "For the Decimo's sake."
"Si!"
Tsuna gasped as he slid down to the floor of his bathroom.
He. Cannot. Breathe.
Everything for him is overwhelming. The sensations, smell, sound, taste and even the things he can see. And whenever he closes his eyes, he can see his glaring eyes of the friends he left behind. The bottled feelings inside him is already full to the brim and overflowing already, add his situation, there is no escaping it.
Clutching his hair, he tried to recall what Takeshi told him. Five things he see, four things he could touch, three things he could hear, two things he can smell and one thing he can taste. But how can he do that when every single thing in the bathroom is swirling to the point that they dull his senses?
He started to bash his head to the wall beside him as tears started to flow. Why can't he breathe? It was just a fucking nightmare. A fucking nightmare that triggered him. He needs to stop this. Just a little method to breathe at least a little. So he looked at his lavatory. He crawled and reached for the small knife there with a weak hand. He touched the hilt with a finger, and the dagger fell on the floor and clattered loudly. He picked it up and positioned it on the middle of his arm.
"Just... A... Small... Cut..." He panted as he made the blade touch his skin.
The silver is cool and sent shivers down to his spine. He coughed to gain oxygen and about to cut when he heard something.
"When it's unbearable, call me."
"K-Kyouya?" He stammered.
"You know I'll listen. Or call them. Take your pick, Tsunayoshi. No one here will ever leave you alone."
Tsuna shook his head. "N-No! I can't! I left you! I just can't walk in your life again like nothing happened!"
"Why are you listening to him?" Another soft voice questioned. "He's not here. Go cut yourself."
He positioned it again.
"Try your best to never do this again. Not unless absolutely necessary."
Tsuna closed his eyes. "Please... Stop... Just a little pain. Please."
"You're still useless, Tsunayoshi. Can't even cut yourself?" The soft voice questioned again. "Come. Let me guide you."
Tsuna's tears flowed heavily. "But I promised."
"Don't you think that promise is void now, Tsuna? You left them. They're nothing to you. Don't just let them dictate what you need to do to your life."
Tsuna shook his head. "No! I promised! I can't just break it! Leave me alone! I don't need you to guide me on killing myself!"
"But if I don't guide you then how will you die?" Tsuna stiffened. "Instead of staying here and deal with your guardians, why not die already? The Vongola doesn't need you. No one needs you. Can't you see, Tsuna? They don't even care about you. They haven't even checked up on you. Not. One. Person. Tsuna. You're all alone. Abandoned. Left out. No friends, nor even a companion. You're good as dead. Besides, it's what Zian wanted right?"
"Z-Zian..."
"Yes. Your previous rain." The soft voice responded, coaxing him more. "He wants you to die, Tsunayoshi. Remember when he almost killed you?"
"And I killed him in the process."
"Yes. Yes. That's right. You're a murderer, Tsunayoshi. And according to the world's rule-"
"Murderers should die as well."
"Now come on. Just one cut, Tsunayoshi. One deep cut and you'll be gone in this world. All those people connected to you will be free from their miseries you created for them. They'll live like you always prayed. You want that right?"
Tsuna nodded as his eyes continued to flow water. "Yes. To free... Them..."
Slowly, he pressed the knife to his arm and was about to press further when the dagger went out of his grasp. He blinked as he felt pain in his shoulders. He looked in front of him and saw a lady with dark violet hair, an eye patch on her right eye and a frantic, worried violet eye staring at him.
"Bossu? Bossu? Wake up!"
Tsuna closed his eyes and struggled. "N-No! D-Don't touch me! Just let me die! I'm not needed! I'm just a baggage! I only destroy things!"
"Mukuro-sama!"
"Fuck."
"Trash! Wake up! Oi! What the fucking hell-"
Xanxus lifted Tsuna who was covering his ears. He doesn't need to know the whole story. Just a glance on the dagger thrown at the corner of the baby boss's bathroom and the shallow line on his pulse, the brunet almost did a suicide.
Squalo ran ahead of him with two others, a silveret and a tall noiret, who were moving people out of the way. He held his adopted little nephew close to his chest as the latter sobbed and continued to whimper and beg to let him kill himself. Slowly, he let his wrath flame touch the wavering encompassing sky. The latter flame edged away, but he was imposing, demanding so he grasped the other and held it close, surrounding him with his.
"Let me die. Let me die. Let me die." Tsuna continued to chant.
"Just fucking wait, Tsunayoshi." He whispered as they near the entrance of the mansion. "We're going to save you from your pesky demons."
He went in the car prepared at the front. But before he can close the door, the tall noiret reached out and put a hand on the brunet's forehead. He was going to yell at him to get lost when he caught the dangerous telltale of the individual's eyes.
"Good night, Tsuna." Slowly, strong rain flame oozed from him. "Don't worry. They'll balance you like what Ryohei said, and after that, we'll surely make you harmonize with us again, without fail. No one can take our sky from us, not even those who came back after abandoning you."
Tsuna's sobs and whimpers stopped and slowly, his breathing evened out. He fell asleep.
"Take care of him." The noiret bid.
"You don't need to tell me, scum."
The noiret smiled. "Thanks." He closed the door for them and went to the silveret in front of the steering wheel. "We'll hear from you, Hayato."
"Yeah yeah. You don't need to remind me, Freak." The silveret grumbled before stepping on the gas. "Where are we heading to?"
"My mansion." Xanxus responded.
"Seat belts on."
"What's the need for that?" Squalo questioned irritably.
"For safety purposes, Sharky. Just do it before I make you fly out of this car using this windshield."
"Who-"
Squalo was cut off when Hayato stepped on it. The car zoomed in the asphalt floor, tires screeching so loud because of the friction as he turned the vehicle to any direction. Xanxus could only grip the brunet's shoulder to steady the kid and the handle to stay firm.
When the car stopped, Squalo went straight to the windshield, broke it and rolled away a few meters before he planted his foot on the ground and created a stream of smoke as he tried to stop the way he slid. Hayato smirked while Xanxus laughed his ass off. Squalo eventually shouted 'Voi' after halting.
"Didn't I tell you?" Hayato taunted as he went out of the car and opened Xanxus' door. "I deemed the other skies are already inside, Xanxus. If you will, may I carry Tenth for you?"
"Just who the fuck are you?" Xanxus asked as he adjusted his hold on Tsuna.
"I'm the true tenth generation Vongola Storm guardian." Hayato proudly proclaimed.
"You have to be fucking kidding me. You scum looks like the first generation Storm guardian." The wrath stated.
Hayato huffed. "I don't know why but that information doesn't have anything to do with my sky's situation."
"Fine. Carry the trash."
"Don't call him that." Hayato hissed as he took Tsuna in his arms. "Damn. Are they feeding you well, Tenth? You're freaking light."
Xanxus led the way inside the mansion, Squalo joined him by the door and walked beside him. They could feel the strong storm flames coaxing the trembling sky to hold on. To their surprises, the sky relaxed a bit. It's as if they were already connected.
The wrath had heads up on what was happening around Tsuna for the past five months. According to the other skies, the Vongola Decimo gained friends with different flame affinity, thus became his guardians. Just like how him and his family clicked, Tsuna and his companions became friends in various reason.
And if the silveret is telling the truth, then he and his other fellow guardians are here in Italy to take their positions as the Vongola Boss' guardians.
"Xanxus! Where-"
"Damn! Lussuria!" A red head cried.
"Let's lay him on his bed here." A lady with dark blue hair suggested.
Squalo took the initiative to led them to the brunet's own personal bedroom in the mansion. Hayato who was carrying Tsuna was followed by the other skies as he followed the world's sword emperor. The skies watched as Hayato placed the encompassing sky on the bed and took some steps back to give them privacy.
"You can sit next to him, Hayato." Aria appeased softly.
"No. I'm good." Hayato responded, but his conflicted eyes say the different story. "My siblings can wait for the inheritance ceremony. Tenth can't refuse our will when we kneel in front of him anyway, with or without his supposed guardians watching."
"I might say, that vision will be impossible." A voice said as mist swirled around a certain spot until a man in regal clothes materialized. "Greetings. I am Mukuro Rokudou, Tsunayoshi's mist."
"How the fuck did you got here?!" Squalo exclaimed.
"I rode with you." Mukuro smirked before looking at Tsuna. "Hmm... Disoriented due to lack of balance and harmony. How destructive can you get, Tsunayoshi?"
"Oi Pineapple. Stop creating a mess and get out of here with me. This is sky balance, we aren't needed." Hayato growled as he took the scruff of the mist's clothe.
"Oya? The storm is rather raging today."
"Hmp. Of course I am! Who wouldn't after seeing Tenth like that?!"
"Wait." Dino Cavallone, the bucking horse, interrupts as he looked at Mukuro. "What do you mean?"
"Kufufufufufufu." Mukuro laughed. "The Decimo might disapprove, however we will take him as our sky. And his aping guardians won't be able to see us take his hand and kiss the Vongola ring as a sign of loyalty for they will be in serious pain whether they fight us or not."
The skies stared at them.
"Well, this is expected for the destined Vongola tenth generation." Byakuran shrugged. "They are far more vicious than Tsunayoshi himself. And without even testing them out, I can already see the power radiating from you."
"We aren't pussies, thank you very much." Hayato retorted.
"My. Lambo-sama is sure right when he said you're a good teacher." Mukuro commented as he walks out of the room willingly.
"What those that mean you shit?!"
"Haven't you realized that there's a child inside?"
"I know that! And it's not even that bad! They're light curses!"
"When did female genital became a light curse?"
"You-"
The door closed as the noise outside began to rose in level. Byakuran laughed as he hugged Yuni who was giggling too. Aria just sat beside Tsuna with Enma, the red head, but the amused smile plastered on her lips indicates that she's entertained. Enma covered himself with Tsuna as he hugged the brunet for security. Xanxus sat on his throne chair while Dino sat at the foot of the bed.
They are the six skies Tsuna was acquainted with. Three of them, excluding the brunet, are fellow bearers of the tri-ni-set, a phenomenon that creates balance to the world. The Gesso Famiglia that holds the Mare ring that gives power to the sky holder to see the parallel worlds, and the Giglio Nero who keeps the arcobaleno pacifier, a kind of pacifier that absorbs the flame of the barrier to balance the world, thus needs a powerful sky to be a holder. And the Simon ring that holds the sub-set of the tri-ni-set.
Byakuran Gesso holds the mare and Aria and her daughter Yuni are the bearer of the sky pacifier. The former was saved by Tsuna after an attempted assassination of Gesso. The brunet was persistent on wanting to have a talk, called multiple times and ended up camping in front of their gates. In conclusion, he was granted entrance. And the decimo's first action was to hug the white head who cried in his arms after a couple of seconds.
After a day staying at the Gesso, Aria came with a smile, accompanied by a Chinese baby and a blond man in suit. After hearing their side of story and crying for the upholding future of Yuni, Tsuna tried to find a way to save them and with the help of Byakuran's parallel seeing, they ended up saving the whole eight arcobalenos.
Dino Cavallone is the tenth boss of the Cavallone famiglia. A small family with wide range of connection and does different transactions and works for other famiglia, owning favors that might be used for the future. He was saved by the brunet when the former almost died due to an assassination. It was his fault in the first place, wanting to inhale fresh air without any companions. After that encounter, Dino found out that the brunet is the future decimo of Vongola after a couple more encounter with the said powerful famiglia. And when Tsuna slipped on his Japanese manners, calling Dino with a big brother suffix, the blond took Tsuna as his little brother.
If there's one person who Tsuna can relate to, it will be Enma Kozato, a earth ring keeper, a sub-set of the tri-ni-set. His family, known as the Simoun family, is well known to have an alliance with the Vongola and had a staged conflict with them in Primo's time. They've been living in an undiscoverable island and was called out after Tsuna got a hold of this information and invited them personally with the guidance of Vindice.
Xanxus de Vongola, the adopted son of Nono and now the uncle of Tsunayoshi Sawada. They had a conflict, the brunet and the wrath, but was resolved after a couple of fighting, shouting and crying. Eventually, they ignored each other whenever they're in the same room. But Xanxus learned to take down his pride after realizing that the future Decimo had a point in his argument regarding his and Nono's relationship, thus he asked an advice to how he can fix their father and son relationship. That specific conflict proved him how compassionate one Tsunayoshi Sawada is.
So looking at the encompassing sky that always greets them with big beaming smiles in bed, with dried tears, looking so small in Enma's arms makes them so sad. So with a little concentration, the whole room was filled with sky flames.
Without fail, the wavering sky became stable and balanced again.
