Bamboozled
"Laxus and Mira? Never! But that rumor circled around for a while..."
Lucy opened the newest edition of the Sorcerer Weekly magazine and was not surprised to see a picture of Laxus Dreyar in the gossip column, leaving a fancy restaurant in the company of a beautiful lady.
"A redhead this time?" Levy blinked, sitting on the bar stool next to hers. "Wasn't it a brunette last week?"
"Maybe?" Lucy sighed. She'd already lost track of the lightning mage's affairs a long time ago.
Laxus had always been one of the most popular Fairy Tail mages, especially among females, but it seemed that after spending some time in Blue Pegasus abiding to their strange hosting style, his fame skyrocketed.
Her friends at Sorcerer Weekly were all over it, of course. They'd often reach out to her, asking for information about his latest conquests. Much to their dismay, Lucy never knew a thing about Laxus' love life. He'd never brought any of those women to the guild, leading her to believe they were just pointless one night stands.
In truth, Lucy was secretly disappointed.
She peered at the white haired mage behind the balcony, humming a happy tune while preparing her order and sighed again. They'd have looked good together.
Lucy wasn't the only one to think so. Levy had mentioned to her once how Laxus and Mirajane looked like an old married couple when he sat at the bar in the mornings. Mirajane would bring him a cup of coffee, Laxus would open his newspaper and they'd stay close to each other, barely talking, but perfectly comfortable in each other's presence.
"What are you thinking about, sweetie?" Mirajane interrupted her train of thought as she laid a plate in front of Lucy. "A lover? Your good friend Natsu, maybe?"
The blond mage blushed, but cleared her throat as if nothing happened. "Just checking the news," she muttered.
Mirajane peered down at the magazine and examined Laxus' picture with a hint of curiosity.
"This one is prettier than last week's, don't you girls think?"
"To me, they all look the same," Levy answered, looking at the picture as well. "Same fashion styles, same body types… the face changes a bit, but you could barely distinguish between them if not for the hair color, right?"
"Hmm," Mirajane tapped the balcony with her index finger as she contemplated Levy's theory, a thoughtful expression on her delicate face. "Maybe you are right."
You are prettier than all of them, Lucy thought as she closed the magazine.

"Is this sit taken?"
Laxus looked up to the breathtaking blonde that stood next to his table, then his eyes traveled down her body with an appreciative look.
"It is," he couldn't help but wet his lips. "But you can sit on my lap instead."
The woman let out a playful sigh, but obeyed nonetheless. "You're so naughty, Mr. Dreyar."
He only smirked, before pulling her closer to join their lips. She threw her arms around his neck, running her long nails along the back of his head, and returned his welcome. Laxus groaned.
"How do I look today, dragon?" she asked a few moments later, breathless.
Said Dragon Slayer sank his head in her neck and inhaled deeply. "You know I'll always like the original version better… demon."
Mirajane grinned as she moved her blond locks away from her face to give him more space to explore. The tip of his nose slid along her skin, sending shivers through her body, and stopped at the base of her jaw.
"Still, it's a lot of effort to keep my magic stable when you tease me like this," the Take Over mage sighed as he nipped her ear lobe.
"Then drop it," Laxus turned her head so she could stare right back at him, a serious expression on his face. "I don't care what people are going to say."
Mirajane cupped his face between her hands and gave a soft peck on his lips. "You've seen how crazy they reacted the time Asuka found us, haven't you? They are not ready, love."
Laxus scrunched his nose. "I feel like a slut."
Mirajane's heartfelt laugh made him blush. He grunted and looked away.
"You are my slut, dragon," she stood up, pulling him along by the wrists. "Now come on, if you want to see the original version you'd better hurry and take me home before we give those paparazzi some really inappropriate content for next week's edition."
Laxus rolled his eyes, but he couldn't hide the wide grin that spread on his face.
