Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 155 – And away we go.
Raptor's POV, An hour later.
Everyone was here. Zeta, Pierce, Juper, his men, Raze, Blitz and of course myself. Holding the pictures Juper took; I placed them down on the table and let out a sigh. Everyone was waiting for me to speak as it was clear this was the moment that would set up the future. Everyone was calm and there was no tension. Zeta on the other hand was more or less doing better, but it was clear she was still upset and dealing with her emotions. She kept herself towards the back of the small group as Pierce was first to break the silence by asking.
"Are you sure about this commander?"
Looking to the wolf I replied.
"Yes."
Nodding he then said.
"I got off the phone with Hecan before this meeting. I hope you understand I had to inform him of what was going on. I also hope you know commander he has concerns. The main one being my men and I."
Keeping calm I replied.
"I understand. I wasn't planning on getting you guys involved in this last piece of business. If any of you were captured it would surely put G.U.N in a bad spot. But that's why I need your word you'll do what I already asked."
"You have my word Raptor. No harm will come to Gorgon or Tusk while you're away."
Looking to Blitz I asked him with some concern.
"You sure you're ready for this?"
The big guy nodded his head and replied while looking to Zeta.
"I'm sure. Getting her sister back is what's important. Helping you find her will earn me and Tusk our freedom so I plan to help you all the way."
"Good. Good." I replied as Raze asked.
"So you two and him are going alone?"
Nodding I replied.
"The smaller the group the better we'll be. I need you here anyway just to monitor Tusk and his recovery."
Looking back to Pierce I then ordered.
"I want this made clear with you Pierce. If anything happens. If you suspect anything. I need you to move Gorgon and Tusk. That's number one priority. Am I clear?"
"Yes sir." He replied as I slowly looked back to Zeta. Her eyes looked up to me as I said.
"Our ride has been arranged. After the meeting tomorrow we are leaving for it. So make sure you collect all your gear before we go. Cause it might be a few weeks till we can try to come back."
"What do we do when we find her though Raptor? You got a plan to void the contract?"
Shaking my head I replied.
"I don't know yet to be honest with you. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I also need my gear Zeta. Where is it?"
"Let me worry about that. I'll get it to you in the morning." She replied as I just let the statement be.
"What if you can't come back? What then Raptor?" Asked Raze who was clearly the most concerned with the plan. Looking to the fox I replied.
"Pierce and his men are going to extract you and the others. The location will vary based on the outcome in the next few days. Just let them worry about it Raze. I need all your focus on Tusk."
"Okay Raptor." She replied while looking back to Zeta.
"I want this all hush hush. Not a word to anyone. Not even an officer. Not even if they threaten you. You hold fast and hold your ground. But above all else I want no bloodshed. Unless...your pushed into a corner. Am I clear?"
"Yes sir." I got back in varied tones as I nodded and stood up from the table to order.
"Then get some rest tonight. That's all. Dismissed."
Pierce and his men were the first to leave. Remaining at the table was Zeta, Raze, and Blitz. Blitz asking with some concern.
"Where am I staying tonight Raptor?"
"With Raze and your friend Tusk."
The wolf nodded his head as I looked to Raze to asked.
"Is that okay with you?"
"Yeah it's fine Raptor."
Silence went back to us as eyes went to Zeta who was clearly lost in thought. The wolf had soft eyes cause she knew she was being watched. Looking to Raze she questioned.
"What?"
Reaching over for her hand Raze replied.
"Zeta do you want to talk?"
The wolf quickly looked away as I just listened closely.
"Zeta please. If your...?!"
"I'm fine!" Zeta shouted out of the blue as Raze just pulled her hand back to give a sad face.
"Raptor already talked with me Raze. Just...just leave it be. I'm okay, really."
Raze just carefully replied back.
"Okay. But I'm here if you need me. Always."
Zeta gave a soft smile as I just urged them both.
"Go get some rest. All of you."
With them all slowly getting up from the table, I said one last thing before deciding to stand up on my own.
"Zeta and Blitz? Make sure you two are in position tomorrow."
"I'll be there." Replied Blitz as he followed Raze out of the room. Left with Zeta who remained silent at the table, I began to walk my way to the exit. As I maybe got five feet ahead of her she asked.
"Raptor?"
Looking back at her I replied.
"Yeah?"
At this point Zeta convinced me she had a heart. She was showing a new side to her. It was on the same level of her puppy side when I had her under control. With her ears down and her tail unmoving she wondered.
"Can I...can I sleep with you tonight?" My eyes were wide open towards her as she was looking towards her feet.
"I just...I don't want to be alone tonight. Please?"
Looking back up at me I smiled and replied.
"Of course you can. I'm sure Molly would like it too." Gently Zeta got a smile on and slowly walked to my side. Guiding her towards the exit, I urged while reaching out for her right ear.
"Come on. Try and be happy."
Swatting my hand down she questioned.
"Why would I want to be happy after today?"
Keeping side by side as we walked down the hall towards the main lobby, I changed my thoughts when I spotted some of the night guards heading to bed. Their eyes were watching me and the second I caught them they all waved and said goodnight. Zeta looked lost as I replied.
"Get some rest guys. You earned it."
With our paths soon leaving and Zeta and myself reaching the lobby, I replied to her while ignoring her last question.
"Surprised they even said anything."
Zeta just slightly chuckled and replied while beginning the walk up the stairs ahead.
"Not everyone is going to be scared. I wouldn't be surprised if you get someone bowing to you soon."
"Shut up." I urged her with a slight nudge to her side as she went silent. Once back to my room, I locked the door and turned to watch her head for the bed. Once sitting down I said calmly and with a smile.
"As for why you should be happy. You're contract is gone. Have you looked? Watts confirmed it for me."
Taking out her phone Zeta quickly began to look for it I assume. I went silent as she soon just widened her eyes and lost all her emotion. Her whole body just went still it seemed. Almost like she was in disbelief.
"I told you this would work. Ying won't know a thing. And when they do I have a plan. But right now you're free Zeta. So smile."
"What if they find out I'm alive still Raptor?" She then asked as I quickly undid the straps to my vest. As I began to take it off I replied.
"Leave it to me. They won't. I promise."
Zeta just glanced up at me and quickly went back to her phone. Sensing she was still worried about Pepper; I went on to say as I got off the vest.
"We got a good chunk of change out of it too, so if anything just think of the money. I already know that gets you wet thinking about wolfy."
Instantly Zeta replied with a red face.
"I...I don't...I don't get wet Raptor."
I just shot her a smile and replied with a soft voice.
"Sure you don't. My apologies. Must have mistaken you for a bounty hunter. You know what that is right? That thing you said you loved doing when we first met."
Zeta kept red in the face as I knew I had her. She was just trying to hide her emotions. I knew her too well already to be fooled. Sensing the same thing she begged.
"Shut up. Please. Asshole."
Approaching her side, I sat down alongside her and handed her my phone. Her eyes looked to it as I said with a smile.
"We still have to call her you know? I'm sure she would love to know her sister is still alive and kicking and that we're coming to pull her ass out of the fire she's in."
Zeta just looked back up to me to reply.
"I'd like to wait actually."
Somewhat surprised I wondered.
"Why?"
"Cause I'd rather minimize tipping anyone off. That and it'll be better if we can actually be in the city when we do it. That way we can just figure out where to go and get the fuck out before anything else happens."
"You know I said this was going to be a week or two right? I doubt getting her out will be quick."
Nodding she then replied.
"Even if it's not we will find a way. I'll consider any extra time a chance to catch up. I have questions and I'm sure she does too. I'd want as much time as I can get before coming back here to this mess."
"Agreed." I replied back as she fell silent.
With seconds passing, I looked towards the bathroom to see Molly asleep on the carpet. With my mind following others thoughts, I looked back as she said my name.
"Raptor?"
With her eyes locked on to mine I replied.
"Yeah?"
Reaching out to take my hand which I had at my side, I kept focused on her as she whispered.
"Thank you. I...I don't know where I would be without you right now."
"It's fine. I told you. I keep my promises. The next being Pepper."
Giving me a lost face she questioned.
"How can you be so relaxed? Aren't you worried at all?"
"What do I have to be worried about?" I then asked as she replied.
"Your position here for starters? Aren't you worried about that?"
Sensing she was more worried then me I questioned.
"Do you have faith in my plan?"
Just keeping my hand close she replied.
"I think it's fucking insane."
"But do you think it won't work?"
"I think your putting a lot of faith in your people. That's what I think Raptor." She stated as I looked away and back towards Molly. Keeping my eyes away from the wolf, I slipped my hand out of hers and said with a quiet voice.
"Your right."
"What if it doesn't work?" She then asked as I went silent.
Getting herself right next to me to the point where our legs were touching, I replied.
"If it doesn't work?"
Looking over to her slim body, I replied with a smile.
"Would you be upset if I just said I wanted to go somewhere else? Try and forget about all this? Have you and your sister settle down in safety and myself just get lost in a place where I can just rest my eyes away from the pressures of war?"
With her eyes showing her soft side, Zeta then said while placing her hand on my leg.
"I wouldn't be upset. The only way that could happen Raptor is if you just tried to ditch me after everything we'll have gone through by that point."
Letting out a soft chuckle I replied.
"Not like I planned on forgetting about you. I just figure you and her will want to try and go back home and figure out a life better then this."
"Hey?" She then whispered as I refocused and look back to her. Placing one hand on the side of my face she leaned in to whisper.
"A life better then what? This?"
Keeping silent; I just kept still as she leaned in to begin kissing me. Straightening out my back, I placed one hand on her leg and began to kiss back. At this point she had both her hands on my face just embracing the moment. After a few seconds she pulled off to smile. Just giving her a smile back I replied.
"Only someone as crazy as us would enjoy a life like this Zeta."
Nodding once she then said back.
"A war, a lot of money, and even more unbelievable shit going on? Yeah we might be crazy but this deep in I could give two fucks about trying to settle down as some sort of straight working citizen."
"You want to remain a merc then after this?" I wondered as she questioned.
"What's wrong with that? There are a lot of people who would pay a lot of money to have two people with our skills work for them Raptor."
"I guess your right. But let me ask you something. Something serious if you plan on hanging around."
Zeta widened her eyes at my sudden tone change and replied.
"What?"
With my hands leaving her, I said it again with a straight face.
"I want an honest answer. No bullshit. Okay?"
Zeta went still. I sensed she was worried about whatever I had to ask her. But unknown to her it was a question I never thought I would ever ask another person. But like she said already herself. I was crazy. The wolf was fully ready to hear me out and with my voice sinking down; I mumbled under an uncomfortable breath.
"Do you want kids?"
With my eyes on her directly, I saw her whole body change it's stance. Her ears fell back but this time in a direction that showed not sadness. It was like she was utterly shocked and lost by the sudden question. Her face on the other hand lost all it's color. She went cold and her mouth hung open with no words coming out. I had her stumped. I'd be willing to bet up till this point the thought of kids never crossed her mind. But regardless of how I felt I waited for an answer. After a good ten seconds she replied with a lost voice.
"What did you say to me Raptor?"
Smiling I replied.
"Kids? Do you ever want to have kids? Kids of your own? A family to raise and a family to enjoy for yourself? Does that interest you at all?"
Her eyes flicked away from me as she stuttered back.
"I...I...I mean I...I don't know. I never really thought about it." Looking back to me she asked.
"Why do you ask?"
Calmly letting out a breath, I replied while reaching for her hand.
"Cause maybe I'd like to see what a baby wolf looks like for once in my life."
Immediately Zeta widened her eyes again but this time she was shook. Slightly shaking she questioned.
"A baby wolf?"
Nodding my head with a smile I just remained quiet as she asked unsure.
"With who? You?"
Continuing to nod, I listened as she went on to say.
"Raptor I...I don't know. I didn't even think about it up till now. I mean I'm shocked you would even want to try. After all you've been through."
"As fucked up as it sounds Zeta. Maybe third time is the charm for me."
She was still wide eyed and shocked to say the least about this whole conversation. Sensing she was running out of words I said with some confidence.
"It's not impossible. It took Alicia and I some time but we managed to have Ghost. I'm sure...I'm sure I can do the same thing again if given the right chance and the right person. A person crazy enough to let me at least."
Very slowly Zeta began to smile. Taking her hand into my lap I then said.
"This isn't anything I want to try now of course. But if...if we ever find ourselves in the right place at the right time...?" I cut myself off to look at her. Zeta who held her smile quickly stated.
"Yeah...I think I'm both crazy enough and willing enough to try Raptor. But like you said...not now."
Smiling back I then asked to be sure.
"Would you want to then?"
Nodding she replied.
"Yes."
With that the two of us just staring at one another. I leaned in and gave her another kiss. Just doing this now made me happy inside. The thought of trying was something up till now I never expected to want to do again. But she made me this way. Love might just be a feeling, but it was more then that. To bring two crazy people like us together must prove it. Pulling away from the wolf's soft lips I wondered.
"You want to try and get some sleep then wolfy?"
With a small laugh she replied.
"Yeah I want to try. But hey? You keep calling me that and I'll have to start calling you something real soon."
Somewhat intrigued I replied.
"You've called me enough names up till now. Doubt you have anything new up your sleeve that can get my attention."
"You think?" She wondered as I nodded and began to lay back on the bed. With her just sitting there as I got my head on a pillow I replied while patting the spot next to me.
"Yeah I do. Now lay down and get some sleep. We got a lot ahead of us in the morning."
With my eyes shutting I heard from the wolf.
"Yes daddy."
Instantly I reopened my eyes to stare right at her. In utter confusion I questioned as she held a sinister smile.
"What did you just say?"
Laying back she replied.
"You heard me."
I was just stumped as she got off her shirt. With her boobs bouncing down on her chest as she sent the shirt itself off the bed. I continued to stare as she got her body to slowly come down right next to mine. With that nasty smile of her still holding I attempted to say.
"Yeah I did, but that is...?"
"One you didn't expect to hear?"
Giving her a single nod, she kept smiling and replied while resting her head along my chest.
"Good. At least I know you can still be proven wrong. God or not."
With that her eyes shut and I looked down to watch as her tail crossed under and over my legs. Still shocked honestly; I listened as she said softly into my side.
"Goodnight daddy."
Letting out a breath in utter disbelief. I replied while shutting my eyes.
"Goodnight...wolfy."
