KAIJU (kaiju, Japanese) Giant Beast

JAEGER (ya' gar, German) Hunter

TITAN (ti' tan, Greek) "one that is gigantic in size or power"

My generation, we were born into war.

A Fighter Jet shoots at a Kaiju before colliding into one of the monster's spikes and explodes.

Giant monsters attacked our world. We called them...Kaiju.

A Leatherback roars before charging.

They came through the Breach, a gateway to another dimension at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Electricity dances about as the orange color of the Breach appears.

They were sent by an alien race from the other side, the Precursors.

The Precursors watched as their kaiju were being created.

We fought back, building our own monsters...Jaegers

Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon, and Chemo Alpha are seen.

Giant robots. So big they needed two pilots to run them.

It shows the left hemisphere and right hemispheres of a Jaeger before they combine into one. It then shows Gipsy Danger's fight with the Knifehead. She lands a punch and Knifehead's knife-like head into the water.

However, Jaegers weren't the only monsters fighting the Kaiju. We learned about a secret organization, Monarch.

The skeleton of an eel with "MONARCH" above it is seen. It then shows Monarch at work. Cave paintings are seen with monsters on them.

Their job is to monitor the existence of giant monsters, known as Titans. They are the Guardians of our world, and have been around far longer than we have.

Kong lets out a roar. Godzilla charges before biting a Trespasser on the neck and shoving it back. Ghidorah attacks a Knifehead. Rodan throws a Kaiju mid-air.

Towards the end of the war, Monarch joined us, along with the Titans, helping us win.

My father was a pilot.

It shows Stacker smiling, standing atop his Jaeger. He and Chuck do a movement, activating Striker Eureka's swords.

He sacrificed himself to help save the world.

Stacker then presses a button as the payload detonates, sending an atomic blast through out.

I am not my father.

The man doing the narration is Stacker's son, who goes by the name of Jake Pentecost. He is black, with curly, black hair and brown eyes. He looks very much like Stacker. He is seen partying. He holds up his drink and everyone cheers

It's been 10 years since we won the war, and closed the Breach.

Most of the world's recovered.

A building is shown being rebuilt in fast time lapse. A Kaiju footprint is left in the ground.

But a few coastal cities never did.

A city lies in ruins with a Kaiju skeleton among the rubble.

And the world is still picking up the pieces.

Jake and his company continue to party. Then, the morning comes. Liquor bottles lie everywhere in the pool. Jake lies a asleep on a jet ski with a girl half naked on his back. Everyone else lies wasted around the outskirts of the pool. Only just a few meters away lies a Kaiju skeleton.

But some of us live better in a broken world. And squatting in half a mansion, is better than paying for some crappy apartment. Now, in the relief zones, you have to get creative.

In a remote building, Jake trades a trophy for a box of Captain Crunch cereal with two girls.

You have to hustle, or somebody else might eat your breakfast.

He then trades a yurn for some Oreos with a bearded, overweight man.

And your cookies.

He then trades a car for a case of hot sauce with two teenagers.

And your damn hot sauce. You know out here, we place a different value on things.

The Pan Pacific Defense Corps usually looks the other way, as long as you don't go poking around where you don't belong.

A blow torch turns on. Then, it reveals a large melted hole in a fence.

Say like a...decommissioned Jaeger scrapyard.

DECOMMISSIONED JAEGER SCRAPYARD. SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA

Big risks mean big reward. And nothing pays more than stolen Jaeger tech.

Jake and three other men move through the scrapyard, past a Jaeger's head.

Plenty of nutcases out here trying to slap together their own Jaegers.

It then shows a Jaeger moving through a Japanese city. Jake looks around a corner, seeing an armored jeep move by with a mounted gun on top.

But they need the parts to do it.

Jake and his company move sneakily throughout the scrapyard. They go under arms, legs, and even whole Jaegers as it seems they are looking for something.

So if you can steal what no one else can steal, you can live like a king.

Then, the three enter a corridor. Jake holds a device in his hands. It beeps periodically. Jake and his company reach a door. Jake then works on the door.

"Are you sure it's in here?" one of the men ask.

"Power cores are stripped before they get decommissioned" Jake explained, "But sometimes they miss the tertiary plasma capacitors. And that's a big score. This one's still holding a charge."

Suddenly, the lead man pulls out a gun.

"You better hope so," he threatened.

"Ok" Jake said, "Let's just calm down. Let's not get excited."

"I'm just playing the odds here" the man continues, "You cheated Barada in Juarez, skipped out on Chau in Hong Kong."

"Now that was a misunderstanding" Jake defended.

"And stole from me in my own backyard" the man said.

"Now I'm stealing for you" Jake said, "Circle of life. We good?"

"You deliver, and yeah...we're good" the man said.

"Ok" Jake said before he turned back towards the door. Then, after a bit more fumbling, the door unlocks and rolls open.

"Let's get rich" Jake said.

"Let's" a man nods, smiling. The three continue on. Then, it seemed like they reached their destination, however the power core was gone. Only an electric wire sparked where it had been.

"Target lock" the device said.

"Where is it?" the man asks.

"Target lock" the device continues saying.

"Hey man...just a little situation" Jake said, "It says it's here, it's supposed to be right there, but you know what, let me just figure this out."

Suddenly, the man punches Jake in the face.

"Target lock" the device continues.

"Somebody please kill this guy for me" the man said.

"Target moving" the device said just as a gun cocked.

"No, no, no. It's here" Jake said.

"You, wait, wait!" Jake said, telling the man with the gun.

"Someone else is in here. Someone else has the capacitor. Now, let's go. Come on" Jake said before he ran off.

"Jake!" the man said before chasing after him, "Jake! Hey, wait!"

Jake then got to a door. He pulled the lever and it shut behind him.

"You son of a..." the man said before it shut. The man, frustrated, turned back to the other two.

"Go! Go, go!" he said

"Split up. Go!" a man said. Jake continued in pursuit of the power core. He dodged wires, tubes, and funnels, sliding past them.

"Hey!" a man said, appearing out of nowhere. He aimed his gun at Jake, however Jake swung the wires around, confusing him before punching him in the face.

Then, Jake grabs some wires before raising up and kicking him back against the wall with both feet, almost like that of a kangaroo.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out from behind Jake, the bullet hitting a gas line, spewing steam. Jake quickly ran as another one came, just missing him.

"Come on, Jake!" a man said. Jake reaches a ramp and quickly slide down it before rolling at the bottom.

"Hey boss, he went over here!" a man's voice echoed and Jake hurried along.

"Go, go, go, go!" a man's voice said.

"I see him. I see him" another man said. Jake came to a door. He tried to open it, but it was locked. Then, he heard a whistling tune and he slowly turned around.

He held his hands up as two men held their guns up at him. The lead man laughed.

"Jake, Jake, Jake. Nice try" the man said. Then, suddenly, Jake presses a lever with his foot and a trapdoor opened below the men's feet.

"Yeah" Jake said.

"Jake!" the lead man said.

"We're good" Jake said before the trap door shut. The men fired their guns, but they all missed as the doors closed.

"Jake!" the man shouted before the doors shut. Jake then hurried along after his prize. The trapdoors read, "WARNING. Stand Clear of Doors"

"Jake, you son of a..." the man's voice carried out, but Jake was long gone. He continued on through the labyrinth. He ran out what seemed to be the exit, but was met with a drop.

He staggered as he met it, dropping his flashlight as well. He regained his balance and looked to see the thief.

"Target lock" the device continued to say.

"Hey! Get back here with that!" Jake said. The thief then uncovered a motorbike. Jake then noticed a crane wire. He stepped back to get a running start before running off the drop and grabbing a hold of the wire.

Jake laughed, but it was cut short as the wire dropped a bit. He looked up just as the wire loosened. He screamed as he fell down before he banged his shoulder on a metal rectangular prism. Jake gritted his teeth in pain.

The thief started up the motorbike, which had a screen on it that showed the odometer. Quickly, Jake got to his feet and ran for the thief; however, the thief just zoomed away on the motorbike.

Jake then heard sirens and he quickly hid behind a shipping container as an armored jeep races by after the thief. The armored jeep was joined by another one as they both chased after the thief.

Jake then pulled out his device. It was static, but after hitting it, it came to life.

"Target moving" the device said and Jake smiled as he followed the thief.

Morning came and Jake had followed the thief to an old warehouse. The thief places a book bag on the table before pulling out the power core. The thief then takes it into another room.

Suddenly, in the same room, a window opens as Jake crawls through. He looks around, checking if the coast is clear before entering. He lands on some bottles and stops moving as they clank.

He then quietly moves forward before hopping down. He looks around. He sees a stuffed bunny before his eyes move to a bunch of newspaper articles all over the wall.

One says, "Kaiju War is Over!", with Stacker on the front of it. They were all about the Kaiju War, saying how it's over and we won. Suddenly, a noise startled Jake as a machine on the ceiling starts up.

He follows some wires down a hall before he looks in awe at what they lead to...a small Jaeger. Suddenly, he ducks, dodging a metal pipe as it swings over his head. It was the thief.

The thief swings the pipe again, but Jake catches it before he twirls the thief around by the coat. The thief stumbles, revealing to be a teenage girl. Jake chuckles at the sight of her. He holds the pipe at her.

"How old are you?" Jake asked.

"Old enough to kick your ass" she replies before she begins to get back up.

"Ah-ah-ah" Jake said, stopping her, "Let's take a second. Back up. Back up." She then lowers back down.

"You build this thing yourself?" Jake asked.

"What do you think?" she retorted.

"I think I could sell your little toy for a whole lot of money" Jake said.

"Scrapper's not a toy!" the girl defended, "And she's not for sale!"

"The man holding the pipe says she is" Jake said, irritated, "So listen up..." Jake was then interrupted by approaching sirens.

"You led them here?!" the girl said.

"That's impossible" Jake said. Suddenly, the girl kicks the pipe out of Jake's hand before she runs for Scrapper.

"Hey!" Jake calls, "Ah, what the hell, man!" The girl runs up the Scrapper's leg. She kicks down a hatch before she climbs up the leg on ladder-like bars. Jake groans as the sirens draw near.

Outside, armored jeeps mounted with machine guns surround the warehouse.

The girl straps on a sort of seatbelt. She then steps onto platforms perfect for her feet before clamps lock into place around her boots. She pulls up gloves and taps some buttons.

"Come on, come on, come on" she says before the Jaeger starts up.

"Yes" she said as holographic screens light up around her, "It works!" She smiled as Scrapper came to life.

"Okay" she said before she taps on the holographic screens, adjusting some things. Suddenly, Jake crawls into the conpod.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa" the girl said, "Hey! Get out!" Jake refused to listen to her.

"What are you doing?" she asked as the doors to the conpod, located in Scrapper's chest, closed, "No, no, no, no, no, stop!"

"Where is it" Jake asked as he searched the conpod for the power core.

"Stop. Hey! Don't touch that!" the girl carried on, but Jake still didn't listen as he continued to search for it, "Hey, what are you doing! Stop!"

"Where's the other one?" Jake asked.

"The other what?" the girl questioned.

"The other cradle. A Jaeger needs two pilots" Jake said.

"Scrapper is small enough to run on a single neural load" the girl replied as she turns to a blinking red holographic screen.

"Alright, then you get out and let me pilot" Jake said, but the girl just blankly stared at him, "Get out!"

"Screw that!" the girl said as she activated the controls, causing Jake to be flung to the floor. All he could do was hold on.

Outside, the guards were out of their jeeps, guns ready. Suddenly, Scrapper burst from the warehouse, knocking the armored jeeps out of the way like bowling pins.

The guards ducked as she did. Scrapper ran down the street as fast as she could.

"Told you she's not a toy" the girl said with a smile across her face.

"You're going to get us killed!" Jake said, holding on, "I can get us out of here!"

"I just got us out!" she said to him. Scrapper then turned a corner before coming face to face with a blue Jaeger 5 times bigger. Scrapper halted, causing Jake to get flung forward a bit and he groaned.

"Oh my god!" she said, viewing the holographic image of the bigger Jaeger, "That's November Ajax"

"Pilots of unregistered Jaeger" November suddenly spoke, "This is the Pan Pacific Defense Corp. Power down and exit your conpod."

Scrapper backed up before she held up her arms.

"No, no, no, no, no, don't give up" Jake said, "You give up way too easy."

"That's what they think" she said before suddenly she thrusts her arms upward, causing Scrapper to deploy smoke grenades. November looked for any sign of the small Jaeger, but saw none.

Suddenly, she ran out of the smoke between the bigger Jaeger's legs and ran down the street.

"Stop!" November said, but Scrapper didn't listen, "You are in violation of code 10, section 14, operation of an unregistered Jaeger." November then stomps after Scrapper.

"Hang on!" the girl said.

"I am hanging on!" Jake replied.

"Hang tighter!" the girl said before she curled up, causing Scrapper to transform into a hamster-like ball. Jake stumbled to the floor as Scrapper rolled down the street, but he continued to hold on.

Scrapper just missed November's foot as it stomped down. Then, Scrapper turned around, missing November's foot as it stomped down again.

"Seriously?" November questioned as Scrapper rolled in another direction, "Stop!" Scrapper then rolled up a ramp and straight up into the air.

Everything went in slow motion as Jake felt like he was in space for just a moment before Scrapper came back down and crashed through a collapsed building.

Scrapper then halted before she transformed back to her Jaeger form. The girl then powered down the Jaeger as she was exhausted.

"See" she said to Jake, "I just out piloted November Ajax." Jake got to his feet.

"No you didn't" he replied.

"Did" she said. Suddenly, Scrapper came back to life as they felt a thud against them. November was trying to dig them out of the building.

"Didn't!" Jake corrected as Scrapper turned to see November's hand.

"Okay, what do you got?" she questioned, "And I'm not getting out" Jake quickly looked around before he saw two containers glowing blue.

"One of those ion cells redundant?" Jake asked.

"No" she replied.

"They are now" he said as he walked over to get one.

"But we need them" she retorted.

"Get up to Ajax's head" Jake replied.

"What?" she questioned.

"Go!" he shouted. Scrapper quickly ran out of her hole and onto November's arm. She then climbs up onto his shoulder. Jake slides an ion cell down a shoot. The shoot ejects as Scrapper leaps over November's head.

"Power..." November began, but as the cell hit his head, it caused him to short circuit, paralyzing the Jaeger and causing him to repeat "down".

Scrapper then curled into a ball, smashed through a house before unballing and grabbing the side of a building. She then hops down before transforming again and rolling down the street.

Suddenly, Scrapper's AI signaled they are low on power.

"Low power warning: 12%" Scrapper's AI said.

"I told you we needed that!" she said angrily.

"It worked, didn't it" Jake retorted.

"11%" Scrapper's AI said. Scrapper smashed through a sign before transforming back before hopping down along a bridge and continued to run.

"How long before Ajax can reboot his systems?" she asked as Jake got to his feet again.

Suddenly, as Scrapper ran along a beach, a foot stomps down in front of her. She collides with the foot before falling to the ground. Jake and the girl held on as Scrapper fell.

"About that long" Jake finally answered. Scrapper quickly got to her feet before running in the opposite direction.

"Power down" November said, "This is your final warning". Suddenly, November held up his fist before opening appeared in his knuckles and harpoons shot forth.

They landed in Scrapper's back, sending a shock down the cables, forcing Scrapper to power down. Scrapper collapses to the sand head first before rolling on her back, twitching from the shock, paralyzing her.

Then, November taps on her chest with his index finger, almost like knocking, before it opens.

"Alright" November said, "Let's go." Jake was the first to crawl out, holding his hands up before walking off to the side. The girl crawls out soon after, angrily taking her gloves off.

"Look what you did to my Jaeger, you...jerk!" she said before throwing her gloves at November. However, her gloves didn't go very far.
