THE SHARP RIFLING OF PEOPLE along the streets indicated that it's still a rush hour period on the city. Saeki had walked beside Daisuke with a spring to her steps. They had been assigned together for the day to do the mundane tasks of patrolling along the city this morning. With his partner Haru being unavailable that day because he was being summoned on a meeting yet once again by the higher ups of the MPD. She had a small, nagging feeling that they were persuading him to transfer back to the First Division after his exemplary actions on the incident about the case pertaining to Daisuke and the murder of his mother ages ago.

Speaking of which, Daisuke had his usual blank yet judging expression on his face as his eyes scanned his environment.

"Dai-chan." Saeki's voice came out like a sweet, incessant swirl of pink froth in the middle of the bustling city. "You want to get some coffee in the new café that opened a few blocks from here?" She inquired in sincere earnestness.

That tone and expression had always caught Daisuke's attention for a few seconds that sometimes transcends into minutes. He remembered her jovial and innocent brightness that greeted him on his first day at the MCPTF.

A few people had master that kind of art in a reality made up of false promises and nightmares dressed like a daydream.

Nevertheless, Saeki had possessed a genuine and ingenuous nature coupled with a jovial, curious demeanor that made her a refreshing breathe of fresh air in the hard edge surroundings of the police force.

He was confused. He was intrigued. And he could only be drawn to her natural charisma like a sheer magnet.

Daisuke had gaze flittingly on her bright, tawny irises that stared back at him eagerly. Before he could even think about it, a silent nod came out of him as a reflex to which she beamed sincerely in return.

The warm smile that's painted along her lips was brighter than the rays of the sun before he lost her along the sea of crowd.

And in that moment, Daisuke's cobalt eyes stayed transfix to her form. As if there was a nymph that transcended down the city.

THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED, they were amid a mission of infiltrating one of the dens of a drug lord with Saeki served as a background support via technical means. Ever since her display of great technical work in the assistance of finding Haru along with Teppei and Kamei, the chief actively involved her in a series of stakeouts sometimes with Haru and Daisuke as a background support.

However, there were times that she got involved involuntarily in the middle of a shitstorm just like now.

The non-descript van was hidden in an alley where she was concealing herself with her devices from the enemies. She was guiding Haru and Daisuke inside the building that they were walking. Unfortunately, one of the perpetrators had caught wind of her location and surprised her.

With superfluous effort, Saeki had successfully decked one of the goons with an extinguisher and had successfully managed to deliver a roundhouse kick to the others as well. Handcuffed, lying men on the ground and Saeki's cheerful smile and quick thumbs up is what Haru and Daisuke saw and greeted their line of sight upon reaching her location.

"Whoa. Are you this quick or we're just slow in getting to you?" Haru blurted out, blinking slightly.

"I'm also a police officer Katou-chan even though it's shocking sometimes." Saeki giggled lightly.

Who knew that the nymph had sharp claws and surprisingly great combat skills?

And Daisuke was transfixed yet once again, the depth of his icy, cerulean irises meeting the warmth of her smiling, ochre eyes.

He didn't believe in any superstitious beliefs and witchcraft. But somehow, he was bewitched and captivated by her exuberant presence. Daisuke returned her smile that day, a genuine and sincere curve of his lips that made Saeki blinked and paused in simple innocence.

While it made Haru's brows furrowed in askance as if a comical realization had hit him with something that activated his protective mode.

IT WAS ANOTHER USUAL DAY at the MCPTF with Haru's irritable disposition and his trademark irascible voice that always directed at Daisuke 80% of the time that had him greeting the sunny morning.

"Oi Kambe. If you made Saeki cry, I'll break your bones." Haru's sharp voice and sizzling glare didn't even made him flinch. Rather it made him more amused considering on how Haru was like an overprotective mama bear towards the cheerful, young lady.

"Seeing that we have 206 bones in our body, good luck with that Inspector Katou." Daisuke clipped in wry amusement, a small smirk finding its way to his usual smug face.

"Why you bastard-." Haru's words were cut off when the chief piped in.

"Well, we have a new case from the Division 1 again! I'd like seeing all your energetic faces today hence Haru-chan and Dai-chan will scope and investigate the area! Then Teppei and Kamei can handle the new paperwork that came in today. Oh, Saeki-chan can facilitate as a back up inside the van seeing that her skills is useful for that!"

Teppei and Kamei groaned in unison. "But chief-!" Kiyomizu cheerfully drowned out their grumblings as he went back in polishing his displayed ship at his desk. Haru saluted and went out with a usual slouching posture and mumblings to himself while Daisuke followed him with his complacent smile painted on his lips.

Saeki remained in her cheery disposition as she fell into step between the two of them and offered her confectionaries to both of them.

Ah, yes, what a nice, ordinary morning at the MCPTF.

The sea of busy people crossing the street is what greeted the three of them when they've reached the bustling city. Haru was already at the other side of the crosswalk and he was about to followed suit when Saeki's sweet and gentle voice permeated across his senses and made him paused.

"Dai-chan." In an infinitesimal pause, the growth became larger.

The city traffic lights were still in red. A quick, fluttering kiss was bestowed upon his cheeks.

He was transfixed yet once again. Until the traffic lights went to green and everything went normal again. Saeki was already at the other side of the crosswalk, walking cheerfully alongside with Haru.

Daisuke's brief stupor was broken and shook his head with a fond smile playing across his lips as he crossed the street.

(A/N: Me: Okay, I'll be writing a thriller ala Agatha Christie for DaiHaru to contribute on this fandom.

Also Me: *sees the cuteness and shipworthy scenes of Daisuke and Saeki together* Let me write a one shot and make this ship sail afterwards. Also, my English is laughable so forgive me if there are grammatical mistakes in this one. I'll be please to know your thoughts after reading this one).
