Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 177 – Not what I meant by training.
Raptor's POV.
"Stay with me Molly!" I begged her as she clung to my back.
This was bad, I knew I had to make a choice here. This monster charging full speed had to be a bear. That animal Roman mentioned. But to my left was the pack of wolves. I couldn't fight both. I had to do something.
With no time to think about my choice I kept my aim on the bear and opened up fire.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!"
I fired six more rounds into it. Hitting nothing but chest and the front legs as it still somehow managed to keep coming. Almost stunned, I paused to look at it and then reaimed down my sights to pull the trigger only once as a wolf to my left took it's leap of faith for my neck. All I could do was shut my eyes awaiting the pain to come.
It was so sudden however. I caught myself off guard as the round hit the bear right in the side of it's face and without a second more passing by; I felt this gush of cold air pass right through me. In confusion I looked to my side to find the wolf had passed right through me and landed on my other side. It tumbled in confusion of what just happened and without wanting to chance my luck I switched my rifle sights to it and pulled down on the trigger.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Awwwwroooo!"
The four bullets sent this beast to the grave. Falling right over onto it's side. I knew what I did and I didn't even intend to do it. I was lost by it as a matter of fact up until Molly went off in my ear.
"Braf! Braf! Braf!"
Turning back around, I widened my eyes and raised my rifle as fast as I could as another wolf was already lifting up off it's front legs to greet me.
"BANG!"
Blood splashed my face as the bullet got sent right down it's throat. Unfortunately however the wolf was already in full motion and as I managed to kill it with one easy shot; the body itself slammed right into me and Molly. Knocking both her and I to the snow under it. With my rifle out of my hands only inches away, I began to panic as the bear could be heard growling under it's painstaking form. However it had it's head tucked right between it's front paws and buried into the snow to shield the pain it was feeling in it's snout.
"Braf!"
Looking back to the remaining three wolves, I went for my Glock which was lodged between me and the body on top of me. My whole lower half was being crushed by the weight as I reached under to grab the grip to it. With Molly barking up a storm as the wolves began to circle, I soon got my gun free and took aim at the middle man.
"Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Arrrrrk!"
The wolf I shot had no chance seeing as it was the closest to me. With it's body falling down I watched as it began to limp away. The rounds I fired off got it in the lower back and back right leg. Blood made a trail as the other two came at me together from each side.
Using all I had, I pushed up on the dead weight on top of me and over into the wolf that was charging my right side. The body stopped it in it's tracks but with my back exposed I jumped when I felt teeth grip into the top of my right shoulder.
"Aghhhh!"
Slamming the hand that held my gun back into it's head as it kept biting down on me. I soon found a chance to wiggle out of it's grip. However I had to send it forward and with it's muzzle right back in my face I tried to aim my glock up at it to be caught back in it's iron grip. This time however he went for my throat. But using both hands I fought back and pushed up as I soon found myself in the snow under it.
"Braf! Braf! Braf!"
Panicking I looked right, still holding this wolf away; to see Molly barking at the other one which was only feet away.
"Run girl!" I ordered her as she was set like stone where she was. Glued on the only other threat left and barking wildly at it. I knew I had to do something and fast. These wolves are easily triple her size and I can bet if that thing got a hold of her it would snap her small neck in two. But Molly however stayed put and kept barking.
"Snap! Snap! Snap!" Looking back up I began to grit my teeth as the wolf on top of me tried to lunged down with all it had. Spit drooled out of it's mouth and onto my right cheek as I forced my head to look back in Molly's direction.
"Braf! Braf! Braf! Braf"
With the wolf only three feet away, I freed my right arm to grab onto my glock which was in the snow next to me. Able to take aim, I pulled the trigger.
"Toof! Toof! Toof!"
Molly jumped as my rounds connected into her predator's side sending it back and down to the ground. Letting my sidearm go again, I placed both my hands back to work to be stunned when Molly used all her weight to jump into this thing's side. Latching onto the neck; the much bigger wolf lost it's hold over and took her a few steps backwards allowing me enough time to grab back onto the rifle I dropped. Taking aim as fast as I could as Molly hung on for dear life. I emptied what I had left.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click!"
Both Molly and the wolf toppled over but she was the one to raise again seeing as I managed to get that thing pretty good in the chest and the upper part of it's skull. With time on my side now, I looked back to where the wolves first came from to find the last wolf I had injuried trying to get away.
"Toof! Toof! Toof! Awwwrrrooooo!"
The wolf dropped to it's front legs and rolled over in the snow amongst a pile of it's own blood as I fired off into it's back. Letting out heavy breaths, I recalled the last problem I had left to deal with. And looking back the way I came the bear was slowly lifting it's head and body back up. Placing my glock down to my side I grabbed onto my last and only magazine and quickly went to load it. But as I got the clip in the chamber I felt my body go still when the gun had jammed. Remember back to when I first went to see Hannon back in Pakistan all that time ago, there was a soldier who told me all about this rifle. He even said the clips jammed when you tried to reload. Son of a bitch what kind of luck is that? I asked myself as the bear had fully restored itself back to it's very large and intimidating size by standing up on both it's back legs to see me just laying here.
"Oh shit!" I muttered through fear as it came charging full speed and over the log I had as cover up till this point between us. Rolling to my left, I tossed the rifle aside and reached for my belt grabbing onto my old knife. With the bear's back towards me from the dodge I preformed only seconds ago, I took my chances and jumped right onto it's back lodging the blade into it's enormous neck.
The bear let out this rancid and outright scary scream of pain as I held myself there. In time it tried to shake me off and with more then enough power it managed to send me rolling off it's back and into the downed tree that was only inches under us both.
"Aghh!" Slamming my spine and the back of my head into the tree with full force, I could only watch as it ran a few meters away to try and turn around.
"Braf! Braf! Braf!"
With Molly coming to my side to protect me from another beating. I jumped forward to grab back onto my glock. Switching it to full auto using my thumb. I aimed back up at it as it began it's run at full speed.
"Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Toof! Click!"
It looked like I shot a pillow. Fur and blood splashed out as I must have destroyed it's face with the rapid fire response. Not even a second later Molly sprinted to her right as the bear's body rolled one last time, but this time fully into my chest pinning me against this tree. Biting my tongue from the force of it's body weight crushing me into a pancake. I used all I had to begin pushing it off.
"Braf! Braf! Braf! Braf! Braf!" Molly was losing her mind as she saw the problem I had now with it being where it was.
"Calm down! Calm down baby!" I begged her as I struggled to move from this spot.
Reaching over with my right hand to grab onto my knife. I used that and my left hand to force the body up just enough to start wiggling out. In time I rolled free with Molly sprinting behind my back. She came in to start clawing at my side. She was so happy I was alive. I knew the feeling.
Once I was collected, I just stood back up to look at the mess I made. Bodies huddled around the open clearing and myself and my dog both still alive.
"Fuck me." I whispered as I bent over to breathe a bit.
With my eyes focused on my feet, I quickly noticed my chest plate under my cloak had been abused by this bear. The body came with such force it's front claws must have went clean into my armor when we fell on one another. Cause there was this set of scratches that looked like it was taken from a straight horror film. It went clean across my chest from left to right. A slight curve to it as well as I then recalled my neck.
Reaching over to my shoulder, I grew calm when I felt it had already sealed. A little blood got out as I looked back to Molly at last to ask.
"You good?"
"Braf! Braf!" She replied with a quick step over towards the bear's huge dead body. She sniffed it for a few seconds before I came behind her to grab my knife back. Pulling it out from the back, I flicked my wrist down towards the snow getting the wet blood to splash off and onto the snow. Then gently I placed it back on my belt.
"Braf!" Molly barked at the dead bear and while I turned to go for my glock I shouted.
"Molly!" I gave my voice some dominance and instantly her head snapped to see me bending over to pick up my gun. With my eyes however on her I stated.
"It's over."
Looking back to the bear, she slowly stepped back and came to my side as I made my way over to the rifle which was only a few feet away.
"Piece of shit." I mumbled as I got it in my arms to check the chamber. Seeing the problem, I turned it over and slammed my offhand into the side of it. A bullet fell out as I let out a sigh to then carefully put back on the sling. Once the weapon was on my chest once again, I looked back to the bear. All I felt was my age all the sudden. Which made no sense seeing as I'm now a demi. But fuck if I haven't forgotten just cause I've changed a little in these past few weeks. Letting out another long breath, I mumbled to myself.
"Ain't no where safe. Even if I travel to the other fucking side of the planet."
"Braf!"
Looking down to my girl, I finally decided to give her some praise. Her eyes glistened as the words left my mouth.
"You did a great job baby. Thank you for the help."
"Braf! Braf!" She replied as I just chuckled and pointed to the dead bear to wonder.
"You think we should let this all go to waste?"
Shaking her whole body as I got my answer just from that alone. I replied while starting to walk off.
"Well we can't carry him back. Let's get back to the estate and see if anyone is willing to lend a hand."
"Braf!"
Running out in front of me a few feet I smiled and said it again for her to hear.
"Stay close Molly!"
She corrected herself in time and looking to my watch I found out we still had some time to get back. Hopefully that's the last time I have a run in with a real bear. Cause that thing was a fucking tank.
I counted how long it took to reach back home. Twenty minutes at a pretty good pace. Molly made sure she stayed right at my side as we soon spotted the estate coming up. The same two guys stood there by the main gate and as we neared the one who handed me his rifle from before turned to widen his eyes. Handing him back the rifle as Molly and I had them at a standstill, I said with a happy yet relaxed voice from just knowing we were safe.
"It's a piece of shit. The clip jammed."
Utterly shocked for words, the guard took a hold over his rifle as I looked over to his buddy to ask.
"Ether of you got a truck and a few minutes? Need a hand bringing in some game we caught."
Just smiling his friend replied.
"Ahhhhh yeah. Let me just get it fired up."
Slowly he stepped away leaving me with the first guy who wondered out of his loss for words.
"So ahhhhh...get anything special?"
Laughing under my breathe the guard smiled and I replied.
"Ask her."
Looking down to Molly in confusion, she replied back with a loud bark.
"Braf!"
Just letting out a laugh of his own, the guard and me waited for the truck his friend was getting ready. Once heading our way he asked while getting the door for me and Molly who I knelt down to pick up.
"You hurt at all? Ether of you?"
Shaking my head I replied.
"Nah we're good. Thanks."
Nodding his head as we got in. The driver wondered.
"Where to sir?"
"Three miles or so that way. I'll direct you. Just go down the path."
Obeying my directions the driver got us moving and inside the truck where two other GenSec mercs who both had their eyes on me in confusion were sitting. Not like I was hiding much. Blood was on my cloak. Some on my shoulder where I got bit and a few patches on and around my chest and stomach. Taking my care to remember my condition, I wiped my face and refocused after some time.
Then from this point on I directed us to the clearing. Pulling up to the spot the men and I got out to look around. The four of them dumbfounded as I said with a calm tone.
"Think we can get them back? Good meat I would assume considering the size."
All I got back from them was this.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...?"
With equal shock thrown around, I made my way back towards the dead bear and the tree. Kneeling down I picked back up the two small rabbits I once had in my possession. By then the others came to my side and one of them asked.
"You killed all these fucking things?"
Keeping knelt I replied while just staring at the bear's face.
"Yeah."
"Holy...fucking...shit." He replied as I nodded and went on to state as two of them got around it's sides.
"I can assure you I had no intention of causing this much trouble this early in the morning."
The four of them just laughed as I explained.
"We got these two rabbits and ran into a deer I think. Still not sure. But yeah...I took it down somewhere north of here and by the time we got things together this thing came running."
"Must have been out looking for food." The man around the back of the bear stated as I chuckled and replied.
"Yeah well he found it."
"The wolves?" The guy I gave the rifle to had wondered as I then stated.
"Must have been following our trail. And when I took down the deer they came running after the noise. Wasn't hard to find us considering...?" Pointing to the empty clip that rested in the snow only feet away.
"I emptied the first mag into this fucking thing."
"Bears like this man are tough as diesel trucks. How many shots you think it took before it went down?"
Pulling out my glock to show them all the empty clip and slung back receiver I replied.
"I'll put it to you this way. Between the first clip from that rifle and a knife to it's back, I still had to empty this before it came down."
Just utterly shocked still the men went silent as I put back my glock. Standing up I wondered.
"Think we can lift it?"
Nodding the man who was around the head replied.
"The five of us can sure. Lenny go back up the truck. We'll lift it in on three."
"Yes sir."
From there we just waited as he got the truck in place. But before it got to us the same man stated.
"No joke about using that much ammo on this guy. You completely blew it's face apart. Fuck me. You must have been a soldier at some point in time. Am I wrong?"
Nodding I replied.
"G.U.N special forces and rebellion special force team leader and trainer. Also Shadow Robotnik's head of security back in the day he was still around."
Everyone widened their eyes as I went silent. The man who asked me the question was the one to reply with an amazed voice to him.
"Jesus fucking Christ my guy. That's quite a resume. I'm just glad you still got it for being the political sort now days."
Letting out a laugh I replied to the man as the truck finally positioned itself between us.
"You and me both. Ready?"
Smiling the man replied.
"Oh yeah. Come on Lenny!" He shouted as the other guard got out to get a leg. Grabbing the bear by the waist as each of them got a limb, we all counted.
"One. Two. Three!"
This monster had to be four hundred pounds. It took all of us to lift it up and onto the bed of the truck. But when it finally got in I said while fixing my chest piece.
"Thing is fucking heavy."
"Has to be four to five hundred pounds. Thankfully it wasn't older. Brown bears can be up to one thousand and even more if it was."
"God damn." I replied as the men and I then looked to the wolves.
"What about them?"
"Nice blankets if made right." Lenny stated as I nodded once to wonder.
"We got the room?"
"Nah. We would need to make two trips. Let's get this big guy back and then come back."
We all agreed and as we loaded back into the ride I wondered curiously.
"What do you think we will get for that?"
Looking to me the driver replied.
"Besides a nice new carpet for the estate? A shit ton of meat. Might keep us fed for a fucking month if rationed right."
"That's if the cooks know how to fucking cook it." Another said with a laugh as I just leaned back in my seat to pet Molly on the head who had been just huddled up on my lap during the trip back.
"I think next time you want to go hunting commander you need to take us out with you. I want to see you wrestle a bear like that with my own eyes." The driver stated as I just smiled widely to listen as another said.
"I'd fucking record that. The internet would lose their minds."
"Yeah the decent part of it. The activists would be pissed. Hahaha!"
Laughter broke out as I soon butted in to reply.
"Next time sure. But I'm not using that rifle of yours again."
"We'll do it the old fashioned way commander. Bow and arrow. Keep it quiet so not to attract any more trouble. Haha."
As we pulled into the estate, I stepped out of the truck to ask the men who got out with me.
"You need any help from here? I wanted to get her inside."
Just shaking his head the driver replied.
"Nah your good my man. Go do whatever the fuck you want. Thanks to you we'll be set for a few weeks now on this mountain."
Letting out another small chuckle, I turned and made my way for the front entrance. Molly remained to my side as I got the door.
mT Shadow.
