Author's Note: After watching Naruto on Netflix, I was devastated when Haku died saving Zabuza. He was a good character, and I shipped him with Naruto. So, I decided to write an alternate universe where Haku gets a chance to live and be with our blonde cutie. Just keep in mind this is only a figment of my imagination, and I am not a good writer since this is my first time writing one. All grammar, punctuation marks, and sentence construction may seem a bit off, but please bear with I am very new to writing fanfiction, and hopefully, this will turn out good.

This story takes place in Wave, where Team 7 and Kakashi fight Zabuza and Haku in Wave.

Warning! This story is focusing on Male X Male Love story. MPreg! I do not know how to write fight scenes, but I'll do my best to write it in detail. If you don't enjoy boys' love or boys getting pregnant, then don't read. RATED M for lemons, language, violence, and sensitive situation. In this story, Naruto is younger by a year or two than his group age. ONLY SMART AND POWERFUL NARUTO. GOODKURAMA. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED (I'm not good at writing beginnings, so I'll skip many parts. Sorry)! LET'S BEGIN.

Prologue:

Responsibility

Kakashi pierced his right hand through Zabuza's chest using his Raikiri. Haku was stunned by the sudden impact his Master received from the copycat ninja. Naruto and Sakura looked terrified at scene, until they heard a familiar cynical laugh in the bridge.

Kakashi, Team 7, Zabuza, and Haku looked at the small figure of a wealthy, greedy man named Gato.

"Is this the Demon of Mist? How embarrassing! You can't even kill a single ninja and bunch of children, and you think I'll still pay you? Even if you succeed in killing them all, I never planned to pay you in the beginning. Mercenaries are too expensive. I'll have my men here kill you instead so that they can take your bounty. We'll take your precious boy and make him our slave," Gato and his men looked at Haku with lust in their eyes, thinking about the possible things they could do to him.

Haku shivered in disgust.

"Don't worry, Zabuza. We'll take care of your special tool, so if you don't mind. MEN ATTACK! I'LL REWARD YOU 100,000 RYO ON WHOEVER GIVES ME THE HEAD OF THE BRIDGE-BUILDER!" Gato was insanely smiling in victory.

His minions charged at the seven of them.

Meanwhile, Sakura stayed and protected Sasuke's unconscious body with Tazuna at their side. Haku's senbon paralyzed naruto's legs. Haku…well Haku felt lost.

Naruto knew he needed to do something to save Haku from Gato's men. He had no choice but to ask Kurama for help.

Flashback

Seven Years Ago…

"KILL THE DEMON FOX!" One of the villagers shouted.

"WHERE IS THAT BRAT?"

"WHY DID THE HOKAGE LET HIM LIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE?"

A short four-year-old boy with blonde hair and blue eyes was hiding in the village's dark alley, crying because of the pain, suffering, and hatred the villagers have given him.

"Why do they hate me so much? I didn't do anything wrong," He continued to sob; ever since the orphanage kicked him out three weeks ago, Naruto will do anything to survive. He would steal foods in the local market, shops, and even restaurants to eat. He always pranks on villagers just to get back at them for what they did to him. In return, the villagers would chase and beat him to pulp for the bad things he has done or worse, what he had 'done' four years ago.

"Hey, Kit, don't cry." Startled, he looked around his surroundings to see the source of the unknown voice.

"Who are you? Where are you? Don't you dare hurt me!" He said as his legs begin to quiver in fear. Thinking it is one of the villagers who want him dead.

"Listen carefully, kit, you can't see me because I'm inside of you."

"Inside of me? What do you mean by that?"

The unknown voice sighed. "Close your eyes, and you will see."

"Why should I? You're just making it up so you can kill me."

"I assure I am not one of the villagers who want to kill you. Now trust me and close your eyes. No harm will come to you. I swear." The voice was gentle, and it felt sincere that it would not do him any harm.

"Alright, but if you do something tricky, I'll kick your butt," He said bravely, but the unknown voice just laughed at him.

Naruto closed his eyes and fell unconscious on the ground.

At Naruto's Mindscape.

Naruto finds himself in a dark prison cage with large paper seals on the metal bars. Until he saw a large, terrifying face of an orange fox in chains, his face was demonic, and his teeth were very sharp. He screamed and backed off in terror.

"Errrggg! Do not scream, kit, you're making my ears hurt," The demon fox said.

"Y..y..you're." he stammered. Naruto knew who he is. The villagers weren't kidding when they said the fox was big and terrifying.

"Correct kit, and I am Kurama "The Kyuubi No Yoko." The one that destroyed your village four years ago. The one who was sealed inside of you from the day you were born and…the one that killed your parents." His voice changed from the gentle one into a sad one.

Naruto felt a pang in his chest when he mentioned his parents. He was an orphan. "Why?" Naruto asked but still terrified to come near to the large fox.

"Listen carefully, Naruto," He said his name for the first time. "I'm only going to say this once, so better prepare because I am going to explain everything that happened on the day you were born." Naruto gulped and nodded.

Kurama told him everything about his parents. Minato Namikaze, the Hidden Village and Kushina Uzumaki, the Fourth Hokage, the nine-tailed fox's former jinchuriki. His future legacy as the sole heir to the Namikaze and Uzumaki Clan when he turned thirteen. All the events that had happened during the rampage of the Nine-tailed Fox. His parents are dying in the process, trying to save him from a man named Tobi, who controlled Kurama using his Sharingan to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village. Kurama told him that it wasn't his intention to destroy the village but somehow, when Tobi knew that the only way to release the nine-tailed fox out of Kushina was the day she was about to give birth to Naruto.

Naruto listened with intent as he digested every word that Kurama said.

"It all makes sense now," Naruto said. No wonder the villagers hated him. They blamed him for the downfall of Konoha four years ago. They thought he was the demon fox, even though he was only a vessel. They were blind to know the truth. It made Naruto mad, not at Kurama or the villagers, but to the man who started all the roots of his problem.

"I can feel your anger and hatred kit, do not be blinded by your emotions. It will only result in your downfall." The Kyuubi was right. Naruto needed to get stronger to avenge his parents, but first, he needs to compose himself.

"Do not worry, kit, from here on out, I will help you to grow stronger than any shinobi by allowing you to use my power; it's the least I could do after everything you went through, but first, let us speak to the Third Hokage." Naruto looked at him perplexed.

"Why should I go to the Hokage?"

"He knows more about your lineage than I do."

Starting that day, Kurama and Naruto had bonded as one by letting him train harder than any child his age to achieve future goals.

Back at the bridge.

"Hey, Kurama, I could use some help here." Haku's senbons still paralyzed Naruto's legs.

"You're seriously going to help the girly-boy who nearly killed your friend? Are you insane?" Kurama said to Naruto.

"I know he didn't intentionally kill Sasuke his just following orders to his Master. Deep down, Haku's a kind person, you know? So please, Kurama, help me save him and maybe convince him to join our side." Naruto pleaded.

Kurama snorted. "Fine, but you owe me…a lot."

"Thank you, Kurama."

"Whatever kit, do what you got to do."

Naruto could feel Kurama's power. He took every single senbon out of his body and quickly dashed to save Haku from getting captured by Gato's men.

Haku was in shock that he felt a small but strong figure of a boy was carrying him. He looked up and saw two blue orbs looking at him with relief.

"Naruto, how could he?" he thought.

Thanks to Kurama's powers. Naruto was able to save Haku. He pulled out four kunai in his pocket, hitting the four perverted men in the head, killing them instantly. Naruto carried Haku and put him where Gato's men can't reach him.

"Naruto, but why?" Haku asked, after all the bad things he has done to him and his friends.

"I couldn't let one of my precious friends get hurt." He smiled like a sly fox. Haku flushed at his words and his gorgeous smile. "He called me one of his precious friends." He blushed.

Haku shook his head and went back to his usual self.

"Where's Zabuza-sama?" Haku looked around to find his Master.

"Haku, wait, you can't go back there. It's dangerous." Naruto hugged back Haku's waist, despite being shorter for about five inches or four. Naruto is more substantial than him right now.

"Let me go Naruto, how can I be a useful tool if I fail to save my master?" Haku did everything he could to free himself from Naruto's grasp, he was desperate to save Zabuza, but Naruto won't let him.

Haku had an idea; he used his Ice Jutsu to trap Naruto, which he successfully did.

"Hey, what the heck?" Naruto loses his grip on Haku as he felt an ice cover up his wounded legs and arms. He let go of Haku.

"I'm sorry, Naruto, but it is my purpose to save my master, and I will do everything to save Zabuza-sama," Haku ran and went to find Zabuza.

"Haku! Wait." Naruto shouted in the foggy bridge, but there was no sight of Haku

"Damn it." Naruto clenched his teeth.

"Your boyfriend got you there, kit." Kurama joked.

"Just shut up and help me get out of this ice."

Zabuza's blood began to boil. Nobody and he means nobody would dare to double-cross him and harm Haku. The boy he found in the streets, because of his strong and rare Kekkei Genkai. The boy he trained and raise as a son for nearly eight years.

He winced in pain as he pulled out Kakashi's hand out from his chest. Kakashi was shocked. His Raikiri was well-known as a very powerful jutsu that could kill the enemy instantly, his done it many times before, but Zabuza was more potent than he thought.

"I'm…sorry, Kakashi, but a change of plans. Give me a kunai. I'm the one who will kill Gato." Kakashi nodded understandingly and gave him a spare kunai.

Zabuza ran very angrily; he could not find Haku. He winced when he felt his left chest in pain, but he ignored it. He had a bad feeling in his gut

Haku went into the battlefield to find Zabuza. He used his senbons and ice jutsu to kill the remaining enemies, but he was already tired. He used all his chakra in fighting Naruto and Sasuke, and it left him in a weak state.

Haku passed out of exhaustion. Unknowingly, one of Gato's men, picked him up and went to Gato's side.

"Excellent men, I'm sure will make use of him after killing all the nuisance; it will be a big celebration." He smiled menacingly.

Zabuza saw a few familiar figures in the distance. His gut wrench when he saw Haku's unconscious body, carried by one of Gato's men

"GATOOOOOOOOOOOO," Zabuza unleashed his anger and charged Gato's men one by one. His rage scared the heck out of them. Zabuza sensed a strange chakra that was behind him; he looked back and saw Naruto. With a simple nod of agreement. They allied and killed all the remaining men of Gato and ending up saving Haku.

"Brat, stay here and guard Haku. I'll kill Gato myself," Zabuza winced in pain; he doesn't have much time. He took the kunai out of his mouth and ran after Gato.

Gato was terrified for his life. All his men were dead in the hands of the demon-mist swordsman and the vessel of the nine-tailed box. He heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Finally, you're mine."

"W..wait I was only joking, I'll pay you millions of Ryo, …I..I'll give you the password to all my assets." Gato stuttered. Zabuza took this as an opportunity to make Haku's life better.

"Tell me now, old man, or you'll end up regretting it." He took out his pen and paper in his pocket, and Gato wrote all his assets.

"You better not kid around old man, or I'll come and find you and kill you myself."

"No..no, that's all of it. I swear just, please spare my life." Gato looked sincere because of how scared he looked right now.

"I don't think so." Zabuza smiled menacingly and tortured Gato to death.

Two hours later

Haku woke up. He remembered his Master. Where is Zabuza? Where was he? Did his Master die? Many questions keep flooding Haku. He was interrupted when he heard someone open the door. It was Naruto.

"Haku, you're awake. Are you feeling any better?" Haku smiled.

"I'm fine, Naruto-san, but where is Zabuza-sama? What happened to him?" He got up and asked Naruto; he did not answer him. His expression changed into sadness. Haku's heart wrenched.

"Naruto, answer me. What happened to him?" He asked him frantically.

"Haku…his dying, he'll die any moment, but before that, I need you to come with me. He needs to see you and speak to you one last time." Haku got up from his bed and followed Naruto.

They were in Tazuna's house.

When they entered the room, Haku finds Zabuza in a fragile state. There he was lying down in a soft bed; his breath was shallow. Sakura and Tsunami were tending his wounds.

Haku choked at the scenario, fighting back to hold his tears.

Zabuza smiled and looked to find Haku and Naruto standing in the door.

"Haku…my son…come here." Son. Haku never thought Zabuza would see him that way. For all his life, he felt his purpose was only to serve Zabuza as a weapon tool. Suddenly all memories of him and Zabuza came flooding back to him.

When Haku lost everything, Zabuza picked him up in the streets because he saw him with great power and potential. Haku felt happy once he was needed. He had another purpose to look forward to, which is to train and become an excellent tool for his Master, or so he thought.

Haku kneeled-down as tears were pouring down his face. Zabuza always told him that tears were a sign of weakness. He could not help it. His father was about to die at any moment.

"Father…" Haku said for the first time. Zabuza gently put his hand on Haku's cheeks as he wiped his tears away.

Naruto, Tsunami, Sakura felt sympathy towards Haku.

"Don't cry Haku…before I die, I want to give you this." Zabuza gave him a paper that contained all of Gato's businesses and assets. It had over more than Eleven Billion Ryo. Gato was insanely rich.

"Wh..why give me this? There is too much father." Haku said.

"Use it whatever you want. It's the least I could do for you,"

"Father…No… I don't want this… I don't want any of this fortune. I want you to live and be with me." At this point, Haku was crying.

"Haku, listen to me," Haku stopped and looked at Zabuza. "Promise me you will continue to live and be happy with him." He pointed at Naruto.

"Oy, gaki, come here."Naruto panic and kneel-down beside Haku.

"Y..yes, sir?" He looked scared. Zabuza laughed a little and spoke to Naruto.

"Promise me that you will make Haku happy. All my inheritance will go to both of you, including my Kubikiribōchō. Train hard and use my sword to protect Haku at all costs. Make sure he isn't alone. Do you hear me or else I'll haunt you to make sure you don't break your promise, got it?" the last part made Naruto scared, but he didn't care.

He considered Haku to be one of the most influential persons in his life. In a way, they were both similar; both are orphans, their village hated both, and both were lonely for most of their life. Zabuza knew Naruto would be the right person Haku can relate to, seeing how the child was, Naruto had it worse than Haku.

Naruto looked straight at Zabuza with determination and resolution in his eyes.

"I promise I will, Zabuza-san, you can count on me," Zabuza sighed in relief; he can rest peacefully now.

"I'm glad…Haku, always remember you are my legacy, even you, Naruto. In a short time, you've made me realize how important Haku is to me. And for that, I'm forever grateful."

Zabuza was losing consciousness. Haku noticed this and held on to Zabuza's hands.

"Father….Father…please don't go…!" Haku was sobbing. He was going to lose his mentor and father. The man had raised him and trained him as if he were his son.

"I'm sorry, Haku…I can't be with you…any longer, but always remember I'll be watching you wherever I'm from," Zabuza was also crying, he hated goodbyes, but it was time for him to go.

He looked at Naruto for one last time.

"Naruto, Haku is your responsibility from now on, remember to always take care of each…other…" And that final moment, Zabuza peacefully drift away.

Haku cried and screamed while holding Zabuza's lifeless body. His master-father is gone from this world.

Kakashi, Sasuke, Tazuna, and Inari heard the wailing of the young man. They were preparing a decent burial for him up at the hills of Wave. They knew Zabuza, one of the Swordsmen of the Mist, was gone for good.

Sakura and Tsunami felt sorry for Haku.

To Tsunami, Inari, and Tazuna, they understand Haku's feelings very well. Losing a loved one can be the hardest. They remember Kazai. He was a fisherman who stood up and became a loving husband and a step-father to Inari and Tsunami. When he died protecting his family at the hands of Gato's men, they felt devastated, like Haku right now.

Kakashi remembered the people he lost in his life. His father, Obito, and Rin. Before Zabuza died, he swears to Zabuza that he would help Haku get pass to Konoha and live there for good, and that's a promise he will do.

Sasuke may seem like he doesn't care. Still, it reminded him of many of his family, especially his mother, father, and other relatives supporting him, until Itachi killed them all. He will do anything to get stronger, so he can kill Itachi and avenge his clan.

Sakura never experiences losing a loved one, but thinking about it makes her heart hurt.

Back at Tazuna's House

Haku embraced Naruto as his life depended on him. He wrapped around his arms toward the younger boy and cried onto his shoulders. Naruto hugged him back and let him grieve for the loss of his master-father. It may take a while, but Naruto is determined to make Haku whole again. He promised Zabuza he will make Haku happy, and that's a promise he'll take to the grave.
