Author's Note: This is chapter 2. I hope you guys like it. I forgot to tell you that this is an AU. I will change the main plot of the story. No Konoha Bashing, No Sakura or Sasuke Bashing either.
Chapter 2
New Home
Naruto was in his favourite place at the Hidden Leaf Village, the Hokage Rock, where he was laying and reminiscing at his father's memorial headstone. Their experience with Zabuza and Gato has changed the three of them.
A few weeks ago.
Sarutobi was in his office waiting for Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto. It's been one month and six days since they left the village. They gave the team 7 two weeks to complete the task to report back to the Hokage's 7 was not yet home. Iruka, Konohamaru, his friends, and himself included were waiting for Naruto to return home. It was his first mission outside the village. At first, it thrilled his loved ones that he was going on a real mission, but they worry for the boy after a month of his departure.
"Something must have happened," Sarutobi wondered. "I'm sure the children are fine with Kakashi as their teacher. No harm will come to them." Sarutobi was thinking of Team Hatake. He didn't notice a guard ninja barged into his office.
"HOKAGE-SAMA!" Sarutobi startled. He's annoyed with the man for interrupting his thoughts.
"Barging into my office with no permission at the wrong time. What sounds to be a problem?" The man looked ashamed of his sudden outburst, but this news was important.
The man lowered his head in shame. "I apologized for my behaviour, Hokage-same, but Kakashi and his genins are back from their mission, and they brought a girl with them." It got Sarutobi's attention. "What are you waiting? Let them in."
"Hai, Hokage-sama." The man scurried in fear and left outside the Hokage's office.
"Hmm, and who is this girl they brought along with them? Oh well! As long as they are safe, that's all that matters." Sarutobi smiled in relief.
Naruto was excited to see his adopted family, friends, and teachers again. He had many stories to tell them based on what he made through during his first dangerous mission.
Kakashi smiled at his pupil's excitement. Sakura and Sasuke were in the same boat as Naruto. Moving back home means seeing everyone again.
Haku appeared out of place. He didn't have a good home, to begin with since he was always on the run with Zabuza for eight years doing mercenary stuff. Things were different now. Zabuza's gone. All he had left was his immense fortune. His father left him and Naruto.
Naruto looked behind and watched Haku sulking. He sensed his friend was nervous about being accepted in his village. He ran to his side and comforted him by squeezing his soft hands.
Naruto's sudden move surprised Haku. It made him better. In return, he squeezed his hands for reassurance that he was alright.
The man from earlier came to pick up Kakashi, his genins, and their new beautiful companion.
"Kakashi Hatake, Hokage-sama orders you to come and report to his office along with the girl and your students." The man kept staring at Haku; to him, the strange 'girl' had a mysterious, mature yet enchanting atmosphere around 'her.' If she was single, maybe he could ask her out after they meet with the Hokage.
Kakashi noticed the man staring at Haku. He coughed.
"Thinking such thoughts to a young 'girl' is highly illegal and a very punishable crime. I wonder what the Hokage will say once he learned that one of his guards is a paedophile." Kakashi harshly told the man.
Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto, and Haku were staring at the perverted man's face. It disgusted them at his behaviour.
"I… I'm sorry." He kept his silence as he guided the five of them to the Hokage's office.
Sarutobi Hiruzen senses a familiar chakra nearby. He smiled, knowing it belonged to his grandson, Naruto.
Naruto couldn't wait any longer. He's antsy to see his grandpa again when they were near the Hokage's door. Naruto runs past his friends and sees his grandpa first before them.
"GRAAAMMPPSS! WE'RE BACK HOME." Naruto shouted, seeing his old man again made him happy.
Hiruzen stood up from his chair and moved to his grandson. He kneeled to his level and embraced the little boy he raised. Naruto hugged back his grandfather. It seemed like a long time since they'd last seen each other. The Third Hokage noticed something had changed from the boy.
"Did you grow taller?"
"Sure did. I've grown stronger too." Hiruzen laughed at Naruto.
"That's amazing, Naru-kun." He ruffled his hair, much to Naruto's embarrassment.
"Come on, gramps, not the hair." The Third continued to ruffle his hair. Naruto may grow older, but to him, he was still his precious grandson.
Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke, and Haku saw the heartwarming reunion of Hiruzen and Naruto.
The three youngsters admired how jovial the Hokage was to Naruto. Sasuke and Sakura knew the 'God of Shinobi raised him.' It's unbelievable to see him act like this. Haku was expecting a very condescending presence. Seeing how Hiruzen interacts with Naruto made his heart warm, but it made him a little envious.
Naruto may be an orphan. He's adopted and raised by the Third Hokage himself, with a few relatives and his trusted shinobis. Naruto grew up remarkably. He was lucky and grateful to have the Hiruze in his life. Without him, Naruto would be in a much dire condition.
Kakashi butted in and said, "I hate to break this lovely reunion, Lord Hokage. You called us to report on what happened during our mission in Wave." Hiruzen nodded and reached back to his desk while Naruto walked back to his teammates.
"Alright, Kakashi, report me everything," Kakashi told every detail from the day they met and fought Zabuza and Haku to restoring Wave to its former glory by ending Gato's subjugation. It surprised Hiruzen how Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto handled the scene. According to Kakashi. Sasuke awakened his 3 Tomoe Sharingan by saving Naruto, Sakura had incredible strength for a girl her age to beat up and kill thirty men ten times her size, plus she was a great medic on the battlefield. Naruto showed significant power in defeating Zabuza, Gato, and his men. Kakashi tested their skills, talents, cooperation during their mission. It was their first time experiencing the true meaning of being a shinobi, and it served a moral lesson for them as shinobis from their village.
"Lord Hokage, you assigned us to have a basic C mission only to go with Tazuna, back home, but after encountering Zabuza Momochi and Gato. Our mission turned into a very High-Class mission. My students have shown camaraderie, skill, talent, and bravery while facing a deadly case, and I recommend that Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke are advanced into Chuunins. I know I may sound bias, but according to my judgment as their sensei, the three have shown incredible skill, coordination, intelligence, and power above Chunin and low Jounin level. Give them a few months of proper harsh training. I'm sure they'll get stronger. Stronger than any shinobis their generation."
The three genins couldn't believe what they're hearing. Kakashi Hatake was promoting them into Chuunins. It may sound unfair to other genins their age since the Chuunin Exams will start six months from now, but Kakashi was serious about his decision. Sarutobi gives him a slight nod. How can he disagree with his former Anbu's judgment? It was rare for Kakashi to acknowledge someone.
Sarutobi made the right decision on assigning Kakashi as the sensei of Team 7. Kakashi used to be nonchalant and didn't care for anyone else besides himself. Watching at it now, Kakashi changed from being the cold-blooded ninja he was to a playful sensei to his students.
"All right, Kakashi, as The Third Hokage of The Hidden Leaf Village. I, Sarutobi Hiruzen, declare that Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchicha are now Chuunins of Konahagakure. Congratulations to the three of you. Here's your uniform."
The Hokage handed them three chuunin jacket uniform.
Sasuke smirked and accepted his jacket. Sakura squealed in delight. Naruto tried his new coat, it was a little large for him.
Kakakashi and Sarutobi were proud of the promoted Chuunins.
The Saidame eyed the presence of the newcomer.
"And who is this young person you brought into our village, Kakashi?"
"My name is Haku Momochi, adopted son of Zabuza Momochi, and former shinobi of the Land of the Mist., Hokage-sama." Haku bowed as he introduced himself to the Saidame.
"I see," Sarutobi looked back at the three new chuunins and Kakashi.
"Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, as newly chuunins of the Hidden Leaf Village, I'm very proud of what you've accomplished, you've shown skill, power, and teamwork during your mission in Wave, and for that, I hope I can depend on the three of you to protect our beloved village and our citizens."
"Yes, Hokage-Sama." The three of them said in unison.
"I'm glad you agree. I'll give you three a two-week break for you to get accustomed with your new rank. Sakura and Sasuke, I dismiss you two from your duties. The three of you will be compensated properly in your bank account for what you've done during your mission. Naruto, you stay here. I want to talk to you."
Naruto stared at his teammates.
"I'll see you around, Dobe, don't forget to train with me on Monday. You too Haku. See you later Kakashi-sensei, Sakura, and Lord Hokage." and with that Sasuke went out of the office to train his new awaken Sharingan.
"Me too! I need to go home and see my parents. It must have worried them that I haven't gone home for more than a month now. I'll see you again, everyone." Sakura bowed and went home to her family.
The only people in the room were Haku, Naruto, Kakashi, and the Saidame.
Hiruzen focused his attention back on the newcomer.
"So, Haku Momochi, right?"
"That is right, Hokage-sama." Haku was getting nervous. The older man's aura before him was different when he looked at how he interacts with Naruto and his teammates.
"Tell me, young lady, why did you come here to our village?" Hiruzen asked.
"Gramps, Haku is-" Naruto interrupted.
"Silence, Naruto. I want to hear what Haku has to say." Hiruzen sternly scolds Naruto.
"Yes, gramps." Naruto lowered his head.
"I came here to your village because my father wanted me to live a better life. From what I heard. Your village loves people who possess a Kekkei Genkai." Haku told him.
"And what Kekkei Genkai do you have?" Hiruzen raised his eyebrows and looked at the 'girl' with sudden interest.
"As far as I know, I'm one of the last known members of the Yuki Clan from Kirigakure to inherit Ice Release Jutsu." Haku gulped and narrated his entire life to the Hokage from the day Naruto had saved him from depression.
Hiruzen pitied his upbringing. He knew how the Land of the Mist's former leader despised the people who carry a Kekkei Genkai. So he made a law to execute the civilians in the Mist country who holds a bloodline power.
It shocked him when he learned Haku was a boy, but it didn't matter. He was a very open-minded man.
"Very well then, Kakashi, what do you think?"
"I think Haku should live in the village, Lord Hokage. He doesn't have any alliance with other shinobis besides Zabuza Momochi, and to add all things up, it seems it would be better if Haku lives with Naruto. The two of them have gotten closer for the past month. Naruto promised Zabuza to look after Haku on his last dying breathe." Kakashi added, smiling down at his embarrassed student.
"I see. Then that settles it. Haku Momochi, you are now officially a citizen of the Hidden Leaf Village, but before that, you are under probation for two weeks with Naruto as your bodyguard and your tour guide, then I'll decide what rank I'll put you in." Hiruzen's serious expression softens as he gave Haku a mischievous smile.
"I gave you a scare of your life, didn't I?" Hiruzen joked.
"Ha-Hai… Hokage-sama." Haku formed a sweat on his forehead.
"Great, I'll be seeing Team 7 back in action once your break is over. Naruto and Haku, you're free to go. Before you leave Naruto be home at eight o'clock in the evening for your celebration. "Hiruzen said.
"Got it, gramps" Naruto pulled Haku's hand as they quickly dash out of the office.
Kakashi and Hiruzen smiled when Naruto hold Haku's hand.
"Kakashi, that Haku boy has a crush on my grandson, doesn't he?" Hiruzen asked.
"Yes, Lord Hokage, are you against him being close to your precious grandson, specifically their relationship?" Kakashi eyed the Hokage with curiosity. He may not seem like it, but Kakashi supports Naruto and Haku's relationship. They needed each other. Besides, it'll be interesting to watch how their relationship will develop. He'll have a fun time teasing his student. This thought gave him a sneaky smile.
"Of course not, as long as Naruto is happy, that's all that matters," Kakashi was glad the Hokage approved the relationship Naruto has with Haku. "Though it seems like Haku is hiding a secret, he doesn't want to reveal," Hiruzen added as he interlaces his fingers, leaning it to his chin.
"What makes you say that?" Kakashi asked.
"I sensed his chakra flow from the moment he entered the office. When he's ready to share his secret, I'm sure Naruto will be the first one to know."
It amazed Kakashi at how the Third Hokage guessed the feminine boy's secret just by reading and sensing his chakra flow. No wonder he was called 'The God of Shinobi' because of his unlimited ninja prowess.
What secret could it be? Kakashi thought.
The two of them were in the playground. No younger children or people were in sight. Naruto sat on the vacant bench with Haku next to him.
"I'm sorry about my old man, Haku. He tends to intimidate people around him. What do you think about him, anyway?" Naruto asked the older boy.
Haku placed his index finger on his chin, pondering about the Hokage.
"He's not what I expected him to be. At first, I was nervous about the meeting, but after seeing how he interacts with you and your friends. My opinion of him changed completely. To be honest, he reminds me so much of you." Naruto stared at Haku like he was making a joke or something. He was serious...
"You're kidding. My old man and I are Nothing alike." Naruto puffed his cheeks as he crossed his arms. Haku giggled at the cute expression the blonde boy was making.
Haku's life was brighter when Naruto was in it.
Present
Naruto was lying in his father's headstone, recalling the days he spent introducing Haku to his family, friends, and teachers, tormenting them with embarrassing questions about their relationship.
While Naruto roamed around the entire village for Haku to get familiarized with his new home, Haku noticed how the villagers were giving them an icy stare and whispers in their direction. Knowing the reason, he looked at the blonde boy, completely ignoring the villagers' hatred stare at him.
Haku was angry at how the people of Konoha looked at Naruto with disdain. He was about to attack the villager called Naruto a 'demon' and a monster and almost throwing a rock at the younger boy. Naruto stopped him.
"Don't do it, Haku. Remember, you're still on probation. I don't want you to get in trouble because of me," Naruto smiled and looked back at the villagers."BESIDES, THE HOKAGE MADE A LAW IF I'M ATTACKED, RIDICULED, OR EVEN HARMED. HE WILL HANDLE THEM PERSONALLY. ONCE I TELL HIM. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME. SURE YOU WON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES AGAIN." Naruto loudly emphasized his last statement, instilling fear in the man who throws a rock at him and the villagers who were whispering nasty rumours about him. They all looked away and minded their own business. Avoiding to get involved with the Hokage's adopted 'demon-child,.'
Haku admired how Naruto handled the situation with a nice comeback. He was thankful for the Hokage for making that law to make Naruto's life a little easier. He was curious to know what happened to those people who tried to harm.
"What happened?" Haku asked the Jinchuriki.
"Let's say those people who tried to harm me. Never get to see the light again." Naruto smiled menacingly. Haku shivered at Naruto's response. He kind of like this side of Naruto.
"Anyway, let's continue our tour." He was back to his goofy-self again and continued their tour through the entire village.
Naruto laughed at that memory.
Many things have changed since they travelled back home. Naruto's adopted family, friends, and teachers. Welcome him home with a celebration of his promotion as a Chuunin. They even accepted Haku immediately once they saw how beautiful and caring he is.
Naruto heard a faint footstep behind him. He saw the familiar figure of the person he was thinking.
"Hey, Haku, what are you doing here?" Naruto got up from his position and moved to the older boy.
"Iruka-san is looking for you? Did you skip doing your chores again?" For the place twelve days since Haku moved into the Hidden Leaf Village. He got along pretty well with Naruto's precious people, making them good friends, and acquaintance with Haku.
"That's why you're searching for me, or is it because of something else?" Naruto grinned at Haku. It was causing the older boy to blushed.
"F…fool, don't make fun of me. I was ordered by Iruka-san to find you and fetch you to finish your house duties." Haku said defensively.
"Sure, sure. I'll be there in a second. By the way. How's living life in Konoha?" Interested to know how Haku views his homeland.
"Don't change the subject."
"I'm not. I'm just curious to know. What you think of the village?"
"It's a great place to live, even if the people in Konoha treats you differently. There so many people that care about you, and that's something I'm happy you have, so Konoha is not all that bad." Haku replied honestly.
"I'm glad. You know, ever since you came along. My life has changed for the better." Haku was taken aback by Naruto's words. His cheeks were flushing from embarrassment, heart racing, and a tingling sensation in his stomach.
Naruto was a few feet away from Haku.
The younger boy got a sudden urge to go closer to the boy. His legs walked in the older boy's direction.
Haku noticed how close Naruto was. The gap between them was getting smaller and smaller. Their face was a few inches away. Haku had a clue on what Naruto was going to do, but he wasn't sure.
"Could it be? Does he….?. He thought. His suspicions were right when Naruto looked at him straight into the eye.
"He has the most beautiful eyes I'd ever seen." Haku can see the love in the younger boy's eyes. He didn't say any words. He knew what the blonde boy wants, and he was happy to comply. Haku leaned his head down for the younger boy to reach him since he was a head shorter than him. He gave him a sweet kiss on the lips.
Naruto reciprocates his kiss as he moves his lips against the older boy. He feels Haku's hands on his hair, deepening their kiss.
"Finally, some action." Kurama interrupted Naruto's mind. The boy flinched, breaking their kiss.
Haku gave Naruto a perplexed look. "Naruto, what's wrong?" It shocked him when Naruto stopped kissing him. Did he do something wrong? Did he regret kissing? In the first place, it was Naruto who made the first move, not him
Naruto panicked when he saw Haku frown.
"Damn you, old fox, way to ruin a moment. Look at what you did to Haku?" He was angry at Kurama for making Haku sad.
"I'm only cheering you. It's about time you make a move on the boy." Kurama retorted back.
"Well, thanks for the support, but what should I do? Haku looks like he's about to cry."
"You're so slow, kit. If I were you, you should go wild on him. Be the top." Kurama's vague implication made Naruto confused.
"I don't get what you mean." He answered him honestly.
"Idiot, remember the book you've been reading—the one where the male is dominating the female. Calling him master, and doing-" Naruto was flush in embarrassment; he knew what Kurama meant.
"Okay, I get what you mean, but will it work on him?" Naruto was nervous.
"Trust me. I'll help you." Kurama lends him his chakra. "Be the man he needs. Do it. I'm only doing this once."
"Thanks, Kurama," Naruto said.
"He must regret kissing me." Haku thought sadly.
"Naruto, I'm-" Naruto interrupted him with a kiss. He opened his mouth to let the shorter boy taste him.
They lost track of time as both of them were fighting for dominance in their heated kiss. It seems the younger boy was winning. When eventually, Haku accidentally tripped on a pebble behind him, losing their balance as they fell on the ground.
"That hurt." Haku winced in pain while rubbing his bottom. When he looked up, it surprised him how the younger boy's features changed. His face was sharper, hair dishevelled, whiskers on his cheeks were more defined, and his eyes were slit blue. He reminded him about a wild fox hunting for its prey.
"Oh, Kami! He's so handsome." Haku admired his physical appearance. He looked so wild and free.
"Are you alright, Haku?" Haku didn't hear him. He was busy checking out on Naruto.
"Haku, HEY HAKU!" Naruto shouted, breaking Haku's thoughts.
"Huh!? W…what?" Haku was back to reality. He realized Naruto was on top of him, asking if he was okay.
"Haku?" Naruto asked again.
"I'm fine, Naruto." The younger boy breathes deeply in relief. Haku noticed he was lying down on the ground, and Naruto was on top of him.
Haku blushed. He was below him, and Naruto was on top of him. If a person accidentally saw them like this, they would misunderstand the entire situation.
He shooked his head. "No, it's not a misunderstanding. It's pretty clear we've been kissing and touching each other for quite some time now."
Haku smiled at Naruto and caressed his cheeks. He giggled when the blonde boy purred at him.
It entranced Naruto at how beautiful the boy is. The feminine older boy lying-down in the ground took he breathe away. His exposed pale skin on his shoulders looked smooth, and Haku's long silky black hair was sprawled around the fresh grass. Face flushed from desire, and lips were a little swollen from their long kiss.
The blonde boy had a devious idea. He smirked as he leaned-down, biting and sucking Haku's exposed neck.
"Uhhhmmm!" Naruto smiled in delight when he heard the feminine boy moaned. He continued kissing his neck, hearing the older boy moaned repetitively in pleasure.
"Mmhhhh….Mhhm…Ahh, Na..ru..to!" Naruto couldn't bear it any longer. Hearing him call his name like that made him crazy. He could feel his own groin harden.
Naruto was about to undress Haku, until a sudden realization hit him.
"What the hell am I doing? I shouldn't be rushing like this."
"What's wrong, kit? Why are you chickening out?" It disappointed Kurama when Naruto stopped.
"It's wrong, Kurama, and you know it. I'm too young to be doing this kind of personal stuff with Haku, and so is he. I don't want to make him regret it when he loses his virginity to me. Where not supposed to be doing this until we're adults."
"Hmph! As much as I hate to admit it. You're right. And how do you he's still a virgin?" Naruto blushed when he remembered that the older boy told him he was saving his first time to someone.
"Nothing. Just a hunch." He lied.
"Whatever, I know your lying anyway."
It surprised Haku when Naruto stopped for the second time. He wondered what he was thinking. Haku saw the resistance in his eyes. Haku felt a stir in his heart when the younger boy came to his senses and got up from their position.
"I'm sorry, Haku, for pushing you down. It was wrong of me to do so, and were not yet ready to be doing this kind of intimate actions." At first, Haku was upset at Naruto. He didn't understand the boy. They were so into each other, so why stopped?
That's when he remembered their conversation back at the Wave Country. It hit him like a brick when he realized what Naruto meant.
"I'm sorry, Naruto. I should have known better." Haku got up and brushed himself off. "Excuse me. I'll be going then. I hope you go home before dinner." He bowed and left Naruto standing between the grass at his father's headstone memorial. He felt his vision getting blurry from tears.
Naruto was dumbfounded when Haku left just like that. He heard the boy sniffle, and he knew he made him cry.
"Damn it, so much for making him happy." He clenched his teeth and went after Haku. He hated himself for resisting Haku like that.
"HAKU, WAIT! LISTEN TO ME I-" but the feminine boy ignored him and walked faster. Naruto wasn't planning to give him, he used his unlimited chakra to catch up to him, and he did.
"I said, wait for me." Naruto grabbed both his shoulder and forcefully made him look his way. His' expression softened when he saw Haku crying.
"I'm sorry for being a jerk, Haku. I didn't mean to stop." He wiped his tears away and embraced the older boy as tight as possible to comfort him.
"I know, and I understand. I'm sorry, too, for making you do things so fast. I got carried away." He rested his head on top of Naruto's hair, and he hugged the younger boy back for comfort. Naruto was shorter and more youthful than him for nearly three years, and yet his whole body enveloped him with his warmth.
"Remember, what I said back at Wave?"
"Yes, I remember."
"I'm serious about it. I'll do my very best to make you happy by being at your side all the time. I never intend to leave you. Haku, we're both young. I don't want to do something we might regret. I'm not even sure if I'm ready or not but will be on that level when it's right. Right now, let's take it slowly. Is that fine?" He looked up at Haku to his reaction.
Naruto's statement was confusing. He didn't know whether to be happy or sad, maybe both. He faked his smile and nodded.
"Sure." Naruto grinned, embracing Haku.
"I'm sure what I need is ONLY you. I understand we are young, naïve, and inexperienced. I apologized if I was impatient, but feelings are more robust than I thought. I even broke my promise to you that I will wait. Naruto. You are my light and my home; even if you don't feel the same towards me and find someone else, I'll always be there for you as your friend. But if you were truly the one for me, I will tell you everything about me, including my darkest secret. I promise from now on to wait for you. My love." Haku thought sadly. He hugged the younger boy back tightly for comfort.
Naruto couldn't breathe. The older boy's hug was tight as a rope, but he didn't dare move.
A few moments later.
"Let's go back, Haku. I don't want to make Iruka-sensei mad again." Naruto said.
"Alright."
"By the way, Haku. Welcome, Home!" He exclaimed.
He smiled and responded. "I'm home, Naruto-kun."
They happily went home, holding hands.
