She gave a sigh of relief and turned back to see her dad asleep on the couch. He tried to wait up for her when she went out with James but he usually fell asleep waiting. Bella walked over and shook his shoulder and he startled himself awake. "Its me dad," Bella laughed "go on up to bed, I'm home now." /p

Looking back on her relationship she could feel it slowly getting worse but now she was in too deep to get out. Their relationship started very loving and romantic, something out of a movie. He would do anything for her and she would do the same for him. After a few months he wanted to start having sex and although she knew she wasn't ready he talked her into it. After they started having sex, James started to get very possessive. Bella thought it was sweet at first but he started to control everything in her life. She stopped hanging out with friends and eventually after turning down many invites to hang out with them, they stopped inviting her. She got a reputation as a snob because she refused to hang out with anyone but James. In an attempt to gain some friendships she tried talking to a girl in one of her classes and invited her to sit with her and James at Lunch. James was very angry and made the poor girl feel so uncomfortable. /p

That's when it started to get violent. James didn't want to take no for an answer and when guilt didn't work he started using force. He realized force and violence worked a lot quicker to getting what he wanted from her. He held her hand in the halls and if someone said hi to her, he would squeeze her hand so tight it felt like it was breaking her hand. It was a different story when Edward acknowledged her though, James hated Edward. Freshman year the three of them all had English together Bella and Edward had been exchanging smiles but then when it was time to pair up the teacher put her with James. They started flirting and hit it off, after that though Edward continued to try to win her affections. He would try to sit next to her and flirt with her innocently and every time it infuriated James. If Edward were the one to smile at her in the hallway he would take Bella around the corner to an empty part of the hallways and grab her arm tightly, leaving bruises and accuse her of leading him on. She insisted she would ignore him and wasn't giving him any indication that she liked him. He was going to be furious about what happened. Hopefully furious enough to leave her but Bella didn't think she'd be that lucky. /p

As for how she dressed, she was in a shirt and a modest skirt, there was nothing revealing or provocative about it.
