Piper
Jason didn't go far. Piper followed him as he ran into the school and ran up the stairs. Once he reached the top, she watched as he climbed out of the window. He seemed to have climbed onto the roof!
Piper looked down and Jason looked up. "It's only a five-foot drop." He was sitting on the porch roof which was less precarious than the top roof.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Maybe," he said. He patted the spot next to him. "You can come down if you want."
Piper swung her legs over the window ledge and hopped down. She gasped a little when she landed and wobbled a little. It was a diagonal roof. Jason grabbed her and to steady her and she sat down.
"This is cool," Piper said as she looked around.
"It's my thinking place," he said. He pointed to a gazebo. "That's Reyna's." He pointed to the roof above him. "That's Lavinia's. Heaven knows how she gets up there."
"Do you come here a lot?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said. "It's my spot. My place."
"Should I leave...?" It was his spot. Piper felt like an intruder.
"No," he said quickly. "Stay. I don't mind sharing my spot."
"Thank you," she said. She looked around at the trees and the sky. In the distance, she could just make out a city.
"So where are you from?"
"L.A.," she said.
"Oh hey, same!" He said. "Well, for a little bit at least. We moved to New York for a fresh start. Then Thalia ran away and I followed behind."
"Wow," she said. "That takes an awful lot of bravery."
"And a lot of stupidity."
"You're not stupid. Next to Annabeth your probably the smartest one here," Piper said. It was true. She had never been too good at school. It was or of her many failings. And she didn't think that Jason was like that.
He laughed. "Responsible, maybe. Smart? Sort of. I have trouble reading and seeing the board. I probably need glasses."
Piper studied him. "You would look good with them. Like a blonde Clark Kent."
"Everyone says I'm like Superman," Jason said. "No clue why though."
"Maybe because you have a boy scout persona," Piper said. It was true. He seemed like the all American boy scout type.
He laughed again. Piper was happy she could make him laugh. To take his mind off of Thalia and Luke leaving.
"Well, what about you?" He asked. "If I'm a boy scout superman, what are you?"
She thought about it. "Well. I guess I'm the outcast."
Jason grinned. "We're all outcasts here."
The two of them stayed on the roof. Talking and laughing and goofing off until it was time to go inside.
Hi, ya'll. Shorter chapter this time cuz I've got a big project. On a completely unrelated note does anyone know how to build a toy boat? xD. Have a good day my lovely lovely readers and peace out!
