To say that Jack was excited, was an understatement. Yes, he and Davey had gone on dates before, but what could he say? He really loved his boyfriend, if it wasn't obvious.

In past relationships, dates had always felt forced. Like him and Katherine. They got along great when they were friends, but once they went on dates they were forcing themselves to be romantic which wasn't pleasant for either of them.

To Jack's surprise, Davey loved the super cheesy dates just as much as he did.

Jack just plugged in Davey's show tunes playlist as he got into the car.

Davey pecked Jack on the cheek, then put on his seatbelt, "Hello,"

"Hey, cutie you seem happy today,"

"Why wouldn't I be happy? We're going on a date!" Davey said, "So, what's the plan?"

"Well, I got us tickets to see a movie, and afterwards you get to decide."

"Sounds romantic,"

They saw the movie Ready Player One, a movie set in the near future that focuses on a video game setting. It was interesting, since neither Jack or Davey had been a fan of video games.

After, Jack left it up to Davey to decide what they wanted to do next. They grabbed coffee, and just decided to walk around their town. It was surprisingly warm for April, so they both took off their jackets and Jack offered to hold them.

When they stopped at a bench, Jack pulled out his phone and saw their group chat blowing up.

"Dave, check your phone,"

"What is it?" Davey asked while reaching for his phone, "Oh my gosh,"

Apparently, Albert and Elmer were also in town, because they sent a photo of Jack and Davey holding hands to their group chat. The chat was blowing up with questions and other remarks. Davey wasn't sure how he felt about it. Yeah, of course he loved Jack and he loved being with him, but it was awkward when others started to talk about it.

Jack reached over and turned off Davey's phone for him, "Don't listen to them, they're just jealous."

They sat in silence for a bit, just enjoying each other's company. Davey eventually let his head drop to rest on Jack's shoulder.

"Hey, you mentioned something at the cast party, and I thought we should talk about that. It's not ideal on a date, but I don't want to put it off." Jack said.

"What to do in a few months?"

"Yeah," Jack said. Davey could tell that there was a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Believe me, I really don't want to think about it, but it'll just make things more complicated later on,"

Jack nodded, "Oh, yeah, I know. So, what were your thoughts?"

"The way I see it, there are a couple different ways we could go about this. Most importantly, we have to be completely honest with each other right now. If we're thinking something, we should share it."

"Yeah, of course."

"I love you, Jack, you know that, and I want to be with you for… forever. But I'm going to be honest, because I don't know of many successful long distance relationships."

"What if we're not that far away?" Jack suggested.

"Jack, you're set on that school in Santa Fe, and I haven't applied anywhere close to there," Jack bit his lip and looked away, "What?" Davey asked.

"I haven't told anyone else yet, but I didn't get into that school,"

Davey immediately felt down. He knew how it felt to get turned away from your top college choice. He felt even worse, after he felt hopeful. Davey knew the other schools that Jack applied to were a lot closer, and he hated that he was happy Jack would be closer to him.

"I'm so sorry, Jack. I know you really liked it there,"

"It's alright. I never even got to visit it. But, say we're only an hour apart; what then?"

Davey smiled, "If we're an hour apart, I think we could make that work,"

Jack reached for Davey's hand, "I think we could too,"

*Saturday, 8:03 PM*

*Seize the Day*

Race: ok we need you all to settle an argument

Race: is 1 am a normal time to go to bed?

Spot: No right?

Davey: its a little late

Crutchie: its not too late

Katherine: Midnight is probably a good cutoff

Albert: i go to bed later than that

Elmer: same

Specs: Thats probably normal for students

Jack: thats normal for me and racer

Race: told you Spot!
