Leo

The week dragged on painfully. Sure, Chiron was a cool teacher and every time Coach Hedge went ballistic it was hilarious. But Leo was ready for the weekend. Jason told them that a lot of kids took the subway to the city.

The eight of them agreed to go to the city that weekend. Annabeth and Percy had asked Grover to come with them but he said he wanted to go visit his girlfriend, Juniper was her name, who lived on an apple orchard. I was going to say lumber mill, but then I realized that meant she was destroying trees and changed it xD. Can't have her killing off her fellow nymphs.

That weekend, Jason woke them all up early. "Guys wake up and get dressed as quickly as possible! Annabeth claimed one of the cars and heaven knows that's a challenge on a weekend."

"Cars? What?" Leo asked.

"Chiron has a lot of cars that he lets us drive places if we have our license or permit," Jason said. "Annabeth got her license a little bit ago so she's the one that drives whenever we go to the city."

"Awesome," Percy said as he groggily pulled on a sweatshirt.

"Do you think there's shaved ice?" Frank asked. "Because I know you guys are probably gonna get ice cream but I'm lactose intolerant."

"That's terrible," Leo said dramatically. "How do you live?"

"Barely," Frank muttered. They all started walking out the door and downstairs, grabbing some donuts as they reached the cafeteria and reached the big wooden doors that led to the outside.

"A kid dented these one year," Jason noted, pointing to one of the dents.

"With what?" Percy asked.

"His head," Jason said.

"That's legendary," Leo said. "Really, that's just pure amazingness. Does the guy still go here?"

"Nope. He went to the hospital, lived, and never came back," Jason said as they walked outside.

Soon, they spotted Annabeth leaning against a van tossing the keys in the air chatting with Hazel, Piper, Calypso, Will, and Nico.

"So the sleep zombies arise," Annabeth said with a smirk. "Get in losers we're going shopping." Don't be fooled by the pink! She is not playing dolls! She is stalking the halls! For the thrill of the kill! Barret Wilbert Weed anyone? Let me rephrase that: Any other theater trash?

Piper, Will, and Calypso started to laugh a little after she said that.

"It's a Mean Girls quote," Calypso explained.

"Will, you've seen Mean Girls?" Nico asked.

"My sister Kayla made me watch it with her," Will explained sheepishly.

Everyone clambered into the car and Percy claimed shotgun. He slid in the seat next to Annabeth and immediately the two started bickering over what was the best route to the subway station.

Leo watched the two of them squabble as Calypso followed by Hazel and Piper sat next to him. Jason, Nico, Frank, and Will all sat in the back. Annabeth and Percy kept arguing until Jason finally spoke up.

"Hand me the map, I'll pick the route," Jason said. Percy passed him the map and Jason muttered, "I swear to all the gods they are either going to kill each other or kiss and I want to be around for either of those instances."

"Jason, I'm considering revoking your title of "Annabeth's Best Friend" and replacing it with, "The First on Annabeth's Hit List." Would you like that?" Annabeth asked sarcastically.

"You have a hit list?" Percy asked warily.

"Jason's your best friend?" Piper asked with mock anger.

"Yes, and yes," Annabeth said. "But I'm the only one here with a license so if you call the cops then you guys can't go out." Annabeth put the keys in the ignition and started driving with Jason calling out directions and Percy constantly changing the radio station.

Soon, "Classic" by MKTO was blasting as loud as the devil, and Piper, Calypso, Will, and Percy were singing at the top of their lungs. Sadly for Percy, Piper, Calypso, and Will were the only ones who could sing.

"The fact that you have perfect pitch annoys me," Nico muttered. That's an actual sentence I've said to my brother. He doesn't even sing! He hates singing! But he does it so well!

"Everything annoys you," Leo said.

"True. But I don't hate on your lifestyle so don't hate on mine," Nico said.

"You're over my head! Out of my mind! Thinking I was cool! In the wrong time!" Percy sang loudly. (read: screeched)

"I will crash this car," Annabeth threatened. "If you continue singing."

"Death would be better than that unholy screeching," Nico said.

"If that wasn't the truest thing," Leo said.

"Hazel! They're bullying me!" Percy complained.

Hazel stifled a laugh. "Sing your heart out, Percy. Follow your dreams."

"Good thing we're right by the subway station," Jason said. Annabeth parked the car, without hitting anything, thankfully, and everyone started climbing out of the car with only minor damage to people's limbs.

Once everyone got organized, the native New Yorkers got out their metro passes and the people from the other parts of the country started to buy their tickets and such.

Leo bought his ticket and started walking to where Annabeth, Percy, Jason, and Calypso stood to talk about where to go, what to do, and what to spend their money on.

"I don't care what we do as long as we go to a hardware store because I need to grab some tools and materials," Leo said. "Festus needs a girlfriend."

"You're making your drone a girlfriend?" Calypso asked with some confusion written on her face.

"Yep," Leo said happily. "He deserves as much."

"We can definitely stop at the hardware store," Jason said.

"Can we go to Central Park?" Calypso asked. "I always loved going there and looking around when I was a little girl."

"I like Central Park a lot too," Annabeth said. "We can definitely go."

Leo was excited that he had found another thing out about Calypso. It was a random thing she mentioned but it helped him build the picture of her life in his mind.

Soon, everyone else joined up with them and together they waited for the Subway.
