Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 195 - Rebellion hate.

Black's POV.

This was nuts. Never would I have dreamed this would be my life. From a G.U.N soldier to a rebellion enforcer. Killing people who simply stood up to us on Archer's orders to make an example of anyone dumb enough to try anything.

Each day these last two weeks has consisted of me traveling from district to district getting reports. Each fucking street was covered by a team of ether rebellion soldiers or some Ying goons we now had as allies. I was still unaware as to why they were really here. Archer said the rebellion needed allies and ever since this business with Raptor leaving the rebellion leaderless it's just gotten more and more disorganized. Even though I was in charge these Ying soldiers just kept giving lip. They would obey but it was clear as day they really didn't give a shit. I've had to break up more fights between us rather than on the streets.

"Major!"

Turning around as I neared checkpoint seven I caught eyes with a rebellion soldier running right for me. As I waited I couldn't help but wonder what Hunter was up to. She was assigned to investigate the defects who left the night this all started. I've heard little from her and I was getting worried. Fuck even my own men are missing. I haven't heard anything from Gabe, Tap, or Leo. They've been assigned across the other districts. The only thing I knew for sure at this point was that I wasn't happy. I didn't sign on to kill innocents but I'm trapped here in this position and I couldn't force any hands. I was being looked to by everyone and not just by Archer. It was more about the soldiers. They've looked up to me ever since the first battle and I know this isn't what we were. We're not a dictator's army. This is a citizen's army. It always was. Yet there were exceptions. Some of them were abusing the power and I had no way to prevent it. The whole idea of what we were doing now was enough to make me question just leaving one night. But where would that get me? I asked myself as the soldier stopped in front of me to shout.

"We have a problem!"

"What?" I replied in confusion as he then stated.

"Four rebellion soldiers were just gunned down in district two! No signs of the attackers! They just disappeared after the shooting!"

Widening my eyes I questioned.

"What? They can't have just disappeared. Where was this?"

"Fasner street in district 2 sir!" He replied as I nodded and began to head for a truck. With the kid following me I ordered.

"Hop in and direct me."

"Yes sir!" He replied as I got in to start the engine.

Once in my side seat we began to drive off to district two. It took a good ten minutes to get there alone and another five to find the street. But once there I looked on to see more than a few teams securing the area. Many of which were questioning civilians as I got out of the truck to jog towards the scene of the crime. The bodies were riddled with holes. Casings spent across the street as the officer on site came to me to state.

"We know who did it Major."

Looking into a nearby building to spot another dead rebel, I approached along with the officer to ask.

"Who?"

Taking me inside and up the stairs passed the body, we entered a home which was empty. My eyes began to jot around but in a moment the officer came back with a frame photograph. Taking it in my hands I took in the photo as the officer gave me a second.

It was two rebellion cats. Female cats and they were just holding each other side by side in their standard officer uniforms. They had to be twins. The features were just too close to have them not be. But unaware of names I looked back to listen as the officer alongside me said.

"Lieutenant Vacus. She's the blue one there. She was thrown out from the army a few weeks ago under Commander Archer's orders."

"Why her?" I then asked as he simply stated.

"The Commander executed her sister Incus almost the same day she recovered from a mortal injury to her neck. Vacus lost her voice from shrapnel and was tossed. Up till then she was in charge of the women's combat platoon alongside the traitor Captain Freemen."

"I can't say I blame her for this." I thought to myself as the officer then added.

"Mad as hell and nothing left to live for after losing her sister. Probably snapped and took her anger out on the poor fuckers outside there."

Lowering the photo I then questioned.

"Where would she go after doing this? The district is locked down."

"She couldn't have gone far sir. A team was here in nearly record time after the shots were fired."

Nodding my head I then proceeded back outside. The officer followed as I passed the body one more time to begin looking around. With him at my side I then asked.

"What direction did they come from?"

Pointing to my right he replied.

"From there. Why?"

Looking to my left I replied while walking off.

"Cause she wouldn't run at them. She's smart enough to know that's sucide. So she went this way."

Following after me I began to think. She wouldn't hunker down in a building. That's pointless. She needs time to recover and think. Reaching an alley, my eyes caught a glimpse of a sewer grate. Making my way forward I nodded to myself and stated to the officer as we neared.

"She went down. Smart bitch."

In concern he then wondered.

"Should we send someone down after her?"

Giving it some thought I replied.

"That sewer is a maze. Have you seen the size of this city. Sending a team down there won't do shit. She's gone."

"Fuck." He then muttered as I nodded and replied.

"Clean up the mess and spread the word to the checkpoints and the news stations. Call her out and send that photo in too. She can't hide forever."

"Yes sir." He replied as I looked back down to the ground. With the soldier soon gone, I let out a sigh and mumbled.

She won't be the last to do this. She'll act again. She has too. She's mad and that will be her death. She'll fuck up and we'll get her. I just had to wait.

Zeta's POV.

"Cody?" I whispered to the fox who was doing his best to hold his jaw in place. I was concerned for the kid. I caught the hit he took and it wasn't pretty. With silence between us I widened my eyes when I heard the sound of feet to my left. Pepper came walking out to state.

"He's locked in his room. No noise. How are you holding up Irish?"

Cody glanced up and at that moment we realized his jaw was completely out of place. Barely able to speak in whole sentences he replied while lifting his head.

"One sec!"

Pepper got a seat next to him at the table and leaned in to look for herself. I just bit the side of my finger as he used his other hand to snap his jaw up. The sound it made alone made my hair stand up as his eyes shut from the pain. I was stunned and concerned as he groaned.

"Ohhhhhhh that wasn't pleasant! Fuck me!"

My sister began to giggle as I asked in worry.

"Jesus are you good?"

Moving his jaw now on his own he nodded and looked over to me to reply.

"Yeah I think it's back in there good. How about you? Hehe."

Smiling in disbelief I questioned.

"How can you laugh after getting your face rearranged?"

Smiling now he replied while taking off his hat to fix his hair.

"Cause I know there's a bar just down the hall. I'll drink it off."

"Your fucking stiupd." Pepper replied as we just laughed together for a moment. After maybe a moment more Cody wondered.

"What we gonna do now? Can't say I want to be around for round two."

Nodding my head I replied.

"I don't know. It's his call, but for right now we need to just let him cool off. Let him think this over."

"He's not gonna go to Pakistan Zeta. Not for a million bucks." Pepper stated as I replied.

"Not right now. You heard Hecan there is still a lot to do in Iraq. You want my opinion I think after tonight he'll have us on a plane back there."

"You want to go?" She then questioned as I widened my eyes to reply.

"Yes? Is that even a question? Despite what just happened; you saw what he did for us just then."

Pepper looked away as I went on to shout at her.

"We're free! He saved us!"

Pepper was quiet now as I heard from Cody who got back on his hat.

"The guy stuck up for you. Hell he just made a major choice for his future by throwing your lives up there. You know how much money he gave up just then Pep? Fuck he doesn't even like you and he did that. Hahah!"

I did my best to calm down and smile. Cody was one hundred percent right and knowing that I said directly to her as she looked back to me with those eyes she always gives me when she's in a weird spot.

"He just gave us back our freedom. I told you before he wasn't doing this for the money. He was in this to help two stupid Russian girls; and fuck you Pep if you think you don't owe him something in return for that stunt he pulled. Raptor's something special and he's proved it to me countless times over. We owe him our lives and since we can't go back home thanks to you; what else is there?" I asked her as she mumbled through a sad tone.

"I don't know."

"And fuck you twice cause you promised him you'd train Molly."

Now she smiled and replied.

"Yeah you got a point. Fuck. This is so fucking crazy. What happens if someone makes us though from this point going forward? We can't just pretend like we don't have enemies."

"You heard the guy Pep. He agreed to Raptor's deal. That means you two ain't ever going back on that site. That's not gonna change if some low rent hood sees you and says ohhhh shit that's the Diskov twins let me make a call!" Cody joked as Pepper punched his shoulder to reply.

"I just don't like chancing shit Irish."

Taking her words in I then wondered as Cody played with his jaw again.

"You'd rather hide?"

Shaking she replied.

"No. I just want to be safe."

Chuckling I then stated.

"Well that's not going to be much of an option. You know why we're here now. Our job is to protect him and that's what we are going to do sis."

"Protect a god. Haha." Cody laughed as I smiled and just waited for Pepper to say anything. After a moment she replied.

"I don't have a problem watching his back. I'd just prefer it if we were a bit more….well…...not exposed."

Giving her request some thought I then got an idea. At which point I asked her.

"Not exposed huh? I got an idea. You thinking what I'm thinking?"

For a moment Pepper had to think about what I was suggesting. After maybe two or three more seconds she turned her confusion into concern to question.

"Oh no."

"Oh ya." I replied with a smile as Cody asked.

"What are you two thinking?"

Standing up from the table I made my way to the hall. As I did I replied to the fox.

"I'm thinking we work our magic. Come on Cody. You two Pep!"

Cody got right up alongside her. I waited by the hallway and once close enough I began to lead the way. Pepper who was clearly tired mumbled.

"Can't I just not?"

Chuckling I replied to her.

"It's been a year! I've dreamt of combining our heads for so long! Trust me it will be worth it!"

I was excited to get to work and with Cody utterly lost by what was going on I lead us on a trip that would forever change our look as twins.

Marcus's POV.

"So what are you going to do?"

Raptor has never been this quiet nor this mad at the same time. Well maybe not as mad. But the point of the matter was he was pissed and just sitting there on his bed with his head in his chest. I stood maybe three feet out just looking him over. I knew what he was thinking. I just wanted him to say it.

"Raptor?"

Looking up at me, we locked eyes. The room was as cold as ice as he just sent all his intent with one single showdown. Smiling slightly I replied.

"I like it."

Starting to chuckle to myself, Raptor gave me a faint smile and from there things went back to normal.
