Piper
"Okay, spill. How did you and Percy go from friends to practically dating?" Piper asked.
"Well, after I kissed Percy on the cheek because of the mistletoe, I went into the common room that night to read a book. And there was Percy. And we sat down and we talked. And I might have put my head on his shoulder. And he might have put his arm around me. And then I kissed him on the cheek and said goodnight. And then we went skating and had an awesome time," Annabeth said, cheeks growing pinker by the second. "And then we watched the Grinch together. And during the movie, he put his arm around me and my head was against his chest. And then he asked me out, and I said yes, and then he kissed me and we all went to bed."
"That's so romantic!" Hazel said.
"Absolutely adorable," Calypso agreed.
"It's too cute," Piper said.
"Where are you going on your date?" Calypso asked.
"We're going ice skating," Annabeth said shyly. "He taught me how to over Christmas break. It's a lot like rollerblading so it was kind of easy to learn. And it was really fun last time I did it."
"Well, that's romantic," Piper said. "And speaking of romantic, I'm meeting up with Jason now. Bye guys!"
They waved goodbye as Piper walked out of the room. She walked into the common room where she saw Jason chatting with Percy and Leo. Piper didn't feel the need to call him over. She just watched him talk to his friends and laugh. He seemed more relaxed than he was at the beginning of the year.
He looked over at her and waved goodbye to his friends. Once he reached her, he put his arms around her waist. She tilted her head up to kiss him, taking in his sky blue eyes now that they were close up.
Gods, he's gorgeous.
The kissed and once they broke apart, Jason grinned and said, "Hi."
"Hi," Piper said. "So what's the plan?"
"Well, I was thinking that we could go to the roof and plan from there," Jason said with a smile.
"Deal," Piper said.
The two of them started walking to the roof hand in hand. Sometimes pausing to kiss. Actually, pausing a lot to kiss. Actually, it took practically ten minutes to walk to the window in between make-out sessions.
Jason was a decidedly good kisser.
Once they were settled on the roof, Jason put his arm around her and she snuggled into his side. "So, Annabeth and Percy are dating now," Piper said.
"Took them long enough," Jason said. "We were seeing the signs from day one."
"We can be the maid of honor and best man at their wedding," Piper said with a smile.
"I've got my speech planned out. "I remember Percy when he was a young man in Boarding School. I remember when he told us he got the nerve to finally ask Annabeth out. It was a glorious day and me and my wonderful girlfriend Piper gossiped about it a lot." And that's all I have written out now."
Piper laughed. "You're such a dork, Jason."
"I think we can both agree you're the coolest one in our relationship," Jason said.
They both laughed and Piper started shifting closer to Jason. And then in an inspired moment, she found herself moving in between his legs so she could put her head on his chest.
Jason took it in stride and wrapped both arms around her. Piper sighed happily and was secretly very thankful that their roof faced the west, towards the woods so that no one could see them. But she wanted to feel absolutely enveloped by Jason's arms.
"I was so mad at Thalia when she left the school," Jason whispered into Piper's ear. "Why would she choose her boyfriend over her family? And now, I understand. Because love's a really strong feeling."
"Love," Piper whispered. "I love you, Jason Grace."
"I love you, Piper McLean," Jason whispered back.
And then he kissed her. Softly and tenderly and carefully like Jason always did. That was the difference between the two of them. Jason was a boy scout. Careful and prepared and smart. He followed orders and never crossed the line. But Piper was a crusader. Invading territories she shouldn't. Destroying lines in the sand with a vengeance.
So Piper pulled him closer to her.
They broke apart and Jason smiled at her. "What were we even on the roof for?"
"I can't even remember," Piper said. "Were we going to try and decide what to do?"
"Yeah I think so," Jason said. "But you know what? This works for me."
"It works for me too."
