Upon one restless night at Kyoto, Nina could not get some proper sleep because of a thunderstorm striking above the city. And it felt as the thunder was dropping right upon her own household. Being utterly annoyed by lightning strikes which were balanced out by the rain dropping on the window, the blonde got up from the bed with her usual facial expression when she was annoyed and not caring about her hair at all, she took a glass of scotch and stood to the nearest window to watch the thundering storm…
It was mere two months after her takeover of Mishima Zaibatsu (yet only the mainstream army). Before coming back to Japan, she returned into a world of assassins and killers, where the only rule valid - Kill or Be Killed. This served her as some kind of 'escape' from all the family drama and evident punishment for failing to apprehend Jin Kazama. However, she did not lose track of what was happening in the Far East after her 'forced' leave. After Heihachi Mishima was killed by Kazuya, Mishima Zaibatsu collapsed into terrible infighting and generals formerly loyal to either him or Jin Kazama turned their armies against each other in a bloody bid for Mishima's throne. Despite the massive fragmentation of the Tekken Force, Kazuya let the warlords destroy each other in a total war rather than to fight them and lose his own forces. And with his prestige and power of G-Corporation he earned as 'world's liberator', he could focus on building his own image and expand G-Corporation without major interference from anyone.
"How easily he fooled them, blindfolded them like a true devil." She said to herself while sipping off her Scottish beverage.
Nina never doubted for a second that Kazuya actually submitted to the Devil Gene willingly, unlike the rest of his family. That would explain his devilish genius and power which was at least two times stronger than Jin's. She should know, she was in that family mess for a long time ever since it started.
What the Resistance was doing while being led by Jin, Lars, Alisa and Lee Chaolan was no concern to the Irish woman, as their military assets and power could not compare to Kazuya's G-Corporation, neither the breakaway empires. There were rumors they all tried to challenge Kazuya shortly after Heihachi's demise, but they were quickly pushed back by both Kazuya's private army and the warlord armies which were making more mess than usefulness every time someone tried to solve this conflict with one swift stroke. And when this small 'civil war' was at an uneasy stalemate, she decided to come back as it was the time and made her move.
"… Can't believe how simple it was." Nina stated for herself with an amused smirk as her eyes were locked on a thundering cloud coming her way.
It was raining as wild as that evening when Nina arrived at Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters in Tokyo. Thunder striking all around, rain falling down like a storm of mini-bullets. She was standing in front of the skyscraper, her black suit almost wet from the stormy weather. But that was not important. Her main task - taking down the Zaibatsu leader and claiming control over the local army - was locked in her mind. With determination flowing in and her will not cowering back, Nina moved in. Spotting a small number of guards at the main entrance, she started her own fighting show by taking off her biker helmet and throwing it directly against one of the guards who got stammered for a moment.
It all went so fast and smooth. First one was down after a precise stinging kick into his visor before he even had time to recognize their former commander. Second one down by a sucker punch into the side of his jaw, followed by her Butterfly Strike and put him into hard sleep. Two coming in tried to open fire upon Nina after seeing her in clear line of fire, but her speed was faster than their reflexes as they went through the glass door after being hit by Williams' Blonde Bomb, ramming one into each other and ending up lying unconscious on the marble floor. The fifth one - the one that got hit by Nina's helmet - tried to punch her, but he got responded in a form of a striking uppercut from the blonde, launching him in air and followed up by a high kick which hit him right in the chest with piercing strength and lied down on the stairs, out of conscience.
When she walked inside, there were another six waiting in the hall leading to the mechanical elevator and their fate wasn't pleasant to follow - one by one, they were falling down like flies under her deadly precise strikes, lightning fast kicks and painful holds. Suddenly as she was about to hop on the elevator flashbacks were appearing in her mind on how Heihachi was fighting through the same halls and soldiers nearly a year ago, just that today it was faster and more intense. Why? But those thoughts were cut short as another group of guards went running through the hall, firing upon Nina. She took one M1 Frag grenade and after arming it, she threw it into the rushing armored force and slid on the side for cover. Fortunately, the elevator door closed right in time to shield the leather-clad blonde from the explosion. For now, she could catch a new breath..
Unfortunately, that breather time was cut short. As the elevator started climbing up to the top of the building with its mechanical arms, a dozen of Tekken Force guards emerged on the high ground-placed scaffolding and opened fire upon Nina from assault rifles and rocket launchers. She was lucky those soldiers were badly trained, as their aim wasn't exactly precise and still she knew that they would hit her, sooner or later. Although having no option like Heihachi in throwing a loose metal traverse on the firing party, however where she lacked strength she had her agility and wits. Taking cover behind a torn-off metal plate which served her as a good cover, she prepared another grenade and her personal handgun with modifications that were made fit for her style and line of work. When the scaffolding was close enough, she threw the grenade into its supporting structure and taking a precise shot to detonate it, a big explosion shook with the pad which made most of the armored guards to fall down on the elevator platform, being mercilessly taken down by Nina, one by one. The rest that had a little more luck rather ran away, not being up to being killed by the professional assassin and mercenary. The path to the top was open.
As the elevator arms stopped working as the machine stopped with a large thud and smoke raised on the building rooftop, Nina looked around carefully and with caution, she walked around the platform with her sixth sense for danger ticking in with her sharp heels clapping against the cold steel floor which was covered by small rain drops. Suddenly, Nina was getting even more flashbacks, now on her personal match with Heihachi Mishima… It felt like the old man's ghost was coming to haunt her, images being flashy and intrusive it almost broke her concentration. But luckily, a quick eye winking cleared her mind just in time to see a brown glamour shoe coming her way right against her face. She was fast enough to go into a backflip to gain ground against a new attacker and to recognize who is leading a local garrison of Tekken Force in Tokyo. A disappointed, yet amused expression on her face showed she's not surprised…
"… Eddy Gordo. I should have known you'll snatch the command after Jin's disappearance and my defeat." She could listen to herself saying that clearly while remembering those words, chuckling in silent sip to her scotch.
Eddy, wearing a leopard coat, crocodile-skinned trousers and glamour, gold-decorated boots, stood in front of Nina like a devil with a devious smirk on his brown lips. He focused his irises on his former colleague, slowly moving around her in his usual macho walk while stretching his arms to prepare for the upcoming clash.
"… Heh, you never understood my motives, Nina. I was doing this for my master, Christie and all people suffering below Jin's iron foot. I tried to be cooperative, but you two were treating me like a damn low-life, like I was nobody. When Kazuya offered me to lead the Zaibatsu remnant in Tokyo in exchange for my master's full medical bill coverage and Christie's safety, I did not relent. You two have doomed us all!"
Eddy's tone of arrogant desperation just made the black-suited blonde smile at him in a mocking manner before talking back to him, her voice as cold as the night.
"You must be joking.. Oh wait, you are not. You never was the bright one, Gordo. That's why you never understood why we were waging a war-"
Nina was abruptly interrupted as Eddy by his angered yell, followed up by a quick attacking charge.
"Just shut up, Williams! I will shut that Irish mouth for once and ever!"
"Tsk. Impatient and cocky, as he always was." She said to herself while quickly assuming her fighting stance, eyes set on the angered Brazillian.
After a fast run up to Nina, Eddy jumped into the air and aimed a drop kick with his both legs at Nina's head. But the blonde was faster than the male and aiming her high harpoon kick against him, his attack went into the void as her heeled boot hit him hard into his back and fell down harshly on the metal floor.
Another lightning struck down on Tokyo just when Nina was about to land a stomping kick upon Eddy and the blazing light of the flash caused another flashback slideshow, showing how Heihachi had not even broken a sweat when defeating her. It felt like an ironic moment when the Brazillian took a chance to land some of his capoeira low and mid kicks at the blonde assassin. She had trouble blocking the incoming attacks due to the flashbacks and it almost looked like Eddy would actually defeat her. Unfortunately for him, another thunderstruck made Nina see clearly again which helped her to block the last kick Gordo was up to strike her in the chest. In the end, she managed to hold off against him with a close call. After she landed a quick straight kick into his chest, Eddy started to slip on the wet floor below him and such bad terrain sabotaged his attempt to high kick Nina away. She easily dodged the attack with a lean back and followed to aim a Blonde Bomb strike right into man's exposed chest, sending him flying a few feet away on the metal and glass. He had a hard time standing up, but he did not give up and quickly sprung back on his feet, charging against the blonde assassin again.
It was clear his Capoeira skills were no match to Nina's mastery of Koppojutsu, Aikido and various martial arts combined with her cold-blooded instincts and emotionless mind unless being distracted, as was shown earlier. Unlike Eddy, she is able to almost immediately refocus, plan quickly and keep her mind closed off from rage and other emotions even if the opponent inflicted a heavy portion of damage upon her. The Brazillian, on the other hand, was rather emotional and despite his clumsiness at times combined with headless attacks, his big heart makes him a very dangerous opponent - hurt his feelings, toy with his emotions and you're writing your own defeat, unless you manage to wrap his senses with anger. Which Nina did, as he just charged against the blonde, going for a fast sweep. However, the woman ran towards him as well and upon the moment Eddy lowered down, she simply sprung forward into a spinning jump and went over him, immediately turning at him after landing behind the man and aiming a slashing kick from the crouch into Gordo's face. He had no time to block, which let Nina to make him spit blood and his nose to bleed. In effect, Eddy was even more angry and not being able to control his emotions. He is being unstable.
Upon that, the blonde assassin only smirked in a devious manner towards the Brazillian as it slightly amused her how easy it was to make him rage. She saw how he was jumping at her once more, this time set to give her one of his infamous Capoeira combos, starting off with a low round kick, which could prove to be a problem for an unaware rookie. However, Nina was no greenhorn and as Eddy started moving, she swiftly sprung back on her feet and started stepping back, dodging and pushing away Gordo's kicks if possible. When he stood on his one hand only and pushed Nina to the near edge of the building, he was up to spin and kick her in the belly and end her life. However, he chose a bad player to play this game with, for as he was preparing to sweep her down and launch her away, she went to jump into a spin, stretching her leg forward to give Eddy an upper kick into his head and landing on him at the same time. It was a risk that could easily backfire if Eddy was cautious. Yet he was not and Nina capitalized on that mistake perfectly. As she landed on the man with grace, while he was distracted by her boot in his face, the leather-clad woman went to grab his legs and put them in a difficult leg lock, from which Nina planned to snap at least one of them, applying torturing height of pressure upon Eddy's locked limbs. The man screamed in quiet agony as he was left almost no strength to shout as the woman proceeded to move in with her plan and grabbing both of Gordo's already paining legs, she put them over each other as she turned him over on his belly. Nina sat right upon the man and pulled the held limbs right towards her. A loud, snapping sound could be heard as the blonde Irish woman crossed the pressure limit of Eddy's bones and put them out of commision. Not permanently, yet enough to immobilize him. Once that was done and the Capoeira fighter was crippled, the blonde stood up triumphantly and daring to kick him harshly in hir ribs to turn him over, seeing his face curved by pain, agony and anger. Eddy Gordo lost his fight.
With his defeat, it looked like the storm was slowly pulling away with rain slowly diminishing. However, as she was pressing her heel upon defeated Eddy and noticed the Tekken Force encircling the central rooftop platform, the storm lashed out its final thunder before it disappeared and upon its stroke down, Nina had the last flashback on her past - her, kneeling down before Heihachi Mishima who was a clear victor in their fight over Mishima Zaibatsu, with the old man being encircled by the Tekken Force, as well. Nina had not the slightest idea if those flashbacks were either a ghost haunting her, guilt for her failures or a premonition... However, they all passed away under the clicks of assault rifles all around her. Looking all around her with an examining glance in her eyes, she noticed something - the soldiers were afraid of her! A quite surprising find as she did not expect such a result, knowing they would open fire without holding up, if they had a good reason for it with their 'commander' put under crushing mercy of a lady in a black suit, her heeled boot slowly crushing Eddy's that moment, she leaned down to the defeated man, who was bleeding from his mouth and nose while having one eye badly bruised, and whispered to him in her cold, cynical tone while piercing his eye with an evil glare in her blue eyes.
"… You are broken and defeated, Gordo. Now you see where your aims and goals are leading you. It would be a pleasure for me to end it right here, but I will let you live. Giving you time and opportunity to reason yourself out and face the consequences of your defeat."As her pressure against his neck was slowly being lifted up, Eddy dared to lash out in bloodied anger against the woman who has beaten him and tried punching her in the leg, precisely in the knee to stammer her for a short moment, hoping the guards around will move in and apprehend her. Unfortunately, he got pinned down by an iron boot, pressing against his shoulder which made the already-broken man spit out more blood out of his hurt jaw. Red visors, heavy armor and Zaibatsu insignias on his shoulderplates indicated that the one crushing Eddy's shoulder was the local commander put under Gordo's competence, unfortunately as he slowly shifted his visors from the man to the black-suited woman, he raised his hand to his helm's forehead. That was a sign it's over and as other soldiers gladly followed their superior and paid respect to Nina. An apparent smirk on her bright lips was a clear proof she got what she wanted.
As some clacking between the Tekken Force guards could be heard, one of them - green visor and darker armor as it was their commander - ordered them all to drop their weapons and looked upon Williams. He just nodded his head, saluting her like she was their general all along. In a short follow-up, the rest of the guards quickly followed.
Following the success, she pulled her heeled boot off Eddy's neck and turned to the commander, talking in a firm and strong commandeering tone. "Take him away."
With those words spoken by the assassin, the commander motioned to two soldiers with his hand to restrain Gordo and make sure he gets back home while pulling out his leg as well. The soldiers nodded their heads to Nina and the commander and after cuffing the man's arms by chain cuffs, they pulled him away. What Nina remembered as the last was Eddy's weakening crying and moaning, broken rage and pride covering his bleeding face as he was taken out of the Zaibatsu into the dark night.
Now, leaning against the glass of her window and sipping off her scotch again, Nina remembers this takeover as the best step in her life and career. Still, it could have ended differently - either Jin could come back and retake his seat or Kazuya simply crush the dying Zaibatsu into bloody pieces at the very beginning…
But it did not happen. Now, having some time to think about it, Nina felt as if it all was the will of some ethereal force or even Devil Gene that she was actually able to take over Mishima Zaibatsu without deeper and worse problems. What if… she had fallen into a trap set up by someone stronger in the background? What if she is just a servant all over again? And how will the future transpire? Those are good questions that deserve an answer. However, that is a tale for another time...
