Chapter 3: Great Breakthrough
~ Two Years Later ~
Naruto had spent the last two years doing nothing but training, studying and sleeping in class. The last two years had been a roller-coaster for the young blond. He had left behind all his peers, although everyone outside of a select group knew this. This group included: Anko, Yugao, Iruka, Hiruzen and Jiraiya.
Naruto stood at an average four feet and eight inches tall. He had embraced the way a ninja should act, this began with his clothing, the classic black shinobi sandals, black pants cut off at the calves with yellow, orange and red stripes running down the front of his left leg, the colours and stripes continue to his black, long-sleeved jacket, his hair had been able to grow out so similar to Shikamaru it was held in a short ponytail minus a few spikes that protruded along the sides of his head.
~ Flashback One year Ago ~
Naruto had finally finished what had plagued him for the best part of the last four years, that seal, that bastard seal. It had come as a complete fluke in the completion of the seal, he still remembered it now.
Naruto had begun to get very touchy over the last two months, he became very easy to set off. Whenever he was approached, he would be his usual collected self, then any mention of that seal or anything about requiring patience he would snap.
Not even the Hokage was aware of what Naruto was doing, whilst he enjoyed knowing what was going on with everyone in the village, he respected privacy.
The turn in behaviour had a lot of people worried for the blond, for the most part he maintained his cheerful exterior, due to his trigger-finger temper people became a bit stand-offish with him. Naruto during this period forgot to attend the academy at all, he spent two and a half months either locked up in his apartment or in the Forest of Death training.
Not only had he mastered the seal, he noticed apportion of the seal that he identified for quick application of the seal so using the chakra memory involved with creating the seal helped improve his ability to imprint it just by channelling chakra. It took him close to ten seconds to successfully implant the seal onto a surface, but it was a start. He followed the original seal's lead in using kanji for a short saying, his kanji read: 数の強さ, loosely translating to: Strength in numbers.
Once Naruto had completed the seal, he almost seemed to know exactly where they were, currently he only had them setup inside his apartment one in every room, he used them, not because he was lazy but it was the most practical way to adjust to the after effects of the seal, he would 'flash' all over his apartment until he fully adjusted to it. It no longer made him feel dizzy and he had a good control of where he would appear next to the seal.
One day sudden Naruto had returned to the academy, to him he had completed an assignment and could return to the class. When Naruto had acted like nothing had happened, he received a chewing out from Iruka, Iruka was aware of the relationship Naruto had with the Hokage. With this knowledge he took Naruto to see the old man.
Naruto had developed a very strong relationship with Iruka, they would spend time after the Academy either at Ichiraku's Ramen or strolling around town the village. Naruto viewed Iruka as that of an older brother he would only call him nii-san outside of the Academy. He would be scolded when he did something wrong, which was very common, Iruka had been aware of his training after school as he raised his concern when he had seen Naruto spend time with the snake mistress.
The old Sarutobi had to inform Iruka of his situation, he also instructed him to keep quiet about it, this was for the same reason that Anko wanted to keep Naruto out of the spotlight.
As Naruto had toned down the quantity of pranks he began to be noticed less, Naruto had been forced to be more mature as he was living by himself, he had also become more observant so while he still wanted recognition. He kept his thoughts as just that, thoughts.
Naruto still wore his emotions on his, he did not jump around, but his face and eyes always betrayed him. To anyone who took notice, they would feel the same emotions that he was experiencing. When he smiled, trulysmiled, that, plus his golden hair resembled a sun that gave off love, like the real sun gives off heat.
Naruto was giddy, barely being able to follow Iruka to the aged Hokage's office, he just wanted to tear off at high speeds and get there as soon as possible. He had completed the instant travel technique with the seal to a level that he was happy with, this did not mean that he would ignore it, no, he knew the further potential that this technique contained. It took all his willpower to remain as outwardly passive as possible. This did not go unrecognised by his sensei.
Little did they know who big a day this was going to be for little Naruto.
~ A Short Time Later, The Hokage's Building ~
Naruto had reached boiling point he couldn't help it he snatched onto his sensei's wrist; this was with strength that Iruka had no idea the boy had. The firm grip was unrelenting as he had no say as they sped up to the front door of the tower.
The lady at the front desk had grown quite accustomed to the amount of Naruto's casual visits to the Hokage. She was aware of his 'situation'. At first, she had been purely amicable for that sake of her job, you did not want the Hokage hear you show disrespect towards Naruto.
Over the last three years she had become the second older sister figure to Naruto, whenever he would arrive during a meeting, she would tell him, he would stay on the ground floor and ask about her day, at first, she thought that he was just bored. She soon realised that Naruto still craved attention, he knew this himself, so when someone was willing to talk to him, he snatched at the chance. Due to his want for attention he always listened to what she had to say.
She was confused, the village pariah, the prankster brat, just talked to her
As if they were both ordinary people, just two friends speaking in downtime between work. She questioned her standing on the matter and decided to treat him the way he deserved, like a boy with dreams of being something great and the passion and drive to get there.
If Naruto ever came in late at night, she would have a shogi board under her desk. They would play until either the Hokage would be free or if Naruto had to go home to eat.
She really came to enjoy spending time with her little brother figure as her days became quite dull.
It was currently four pm, the Academy had finished half an hour ago. Much to the lady at the front desk surprise, in bolted a young boy dragging a Chunnin instructor at the wayside.
"Just wait a second their Naruto-kun" Naruto glued himself to his position on the floor. She could be quite scary when she wanted to be, and he had learned to not push her. Instead, he did the usual and just whined.
"Awww…. Nee-chan this is really important"
"I can't tell you, but as soon as I can you'll be one of the first to know!" he exclaimed and shot her a foxy grin before continuing "Ah would you be able to call two people in for me?"
"I'll see, who are they?"
"Anko Mitarashi and ANBU member Neko" he stated in a definitive tone. Iruka was caught off guard at who he mentioned, he had learnt about Naruto's under the snake user but the request of the ANBU member surprised him.
"Anko Mitarashi will be signalled to arrive in thirty minutes time, I don't have any power to call in ANBU members as they are assigned to the Hokage, although the is a chance that Neko might be on duty"
"That's great, I also want you to be there Nii-chan" he said as he turned to Iruka.
"While I would like to thank you, I don't know what's got you so excited" Iruka was clearly confused as normally whenever he brought Naruto to the Hokage's office he would downtrodden about having to go through another lecture. This time he had never seen Naruto look so full of life; he couldn't help but smile.
"Don't worry, you'll be so impressed I bet I could even graduate right now" The look and tone of pure conviction showed he was not kidding. This caught Iruka's interest as Naruto rarely talked about early graduation.
"This better be pretty special for you to say that"
"Just you wait sensei, you'll see!"
~ Almost Thirty Minutes later ~
Whilst Naruto, Iruka and the lady at the front desk made small talk in strolled Anko Mitarashi. While Naruto had learned to school his emotions from Anko, she had also become more subdued, she still didn't care about what other people thought and enjoyed entering through windows, but she knew there was a time and place.
Naruto immediately noticed her "Hey, Anko-sensei" 'Why couldn't he just call me 'Anko-chan' when we aren't training?' she thought as a frown appeared. She knew Naruto didn't like seeing other people upset so she banished the thought brought her cheery disposition back. Naruto noticed and would finally talk to her about it.
Iruka did not have the highest opinions of the snake mistress, these did not come from her previous acquaintances, but her choice of dress, especially around Naruto. The young boy was quite impressionable, and the hidden leaf was full of powerful and crazy ninja. Anko had picked up on his scrutinising glare.
"Umino-san"
"Mitarashi-san" Naruto couldn't help but roll his eyes at the confrontation, it was odd that he attracted both the most rule based and biggest rebel shinobis.
"Hey gaki, you're here too wonder what this is about?"
"Actually, I asked for you to be brought here" This greatly confused the snake mistress 'What could be so important?' she thought. "Humour me, why would I be interested in this? What are you going to show us?"
"I'm not gonna tell you, but you will be impressed when I show you!" Naruto replied, he had no idea what he had done or just how monumental it was. Naruto had noticed the pensive aura of the room.
"I want you guys to see it because your important to me, your shinobi and your two are involved in this as much as I am. Anko-sensei, you have helped me with training and basic work with seals, Nii-san, you have acted as a tutor outside of class time when you take me out for food to make sure I understand the concepts, even when I still don't understand, you both did stuff when there was nothing tying you two to me. This is the 'project' that I've hinted towards for the last few years"
The final sentence really drew everyone in, this 'project' that Naruto was talking about had been something he was working on since he started training with Anko. While they were intrigued, they, set realistic expectations, after all what could a ten-year-old really do? On this line of thinking they completely forgot which ten-year-old they were talking about.
They once again resorted to small talk to pass the time until the Hokage was out of his meeting. Luckily the three of them only had to wait another ten minutes, after that had passed out walked three elderly people, two men and a woman. One of the men and the woman were dressed in regular civilian attire whereas the other male was wearing a white kimono with a black robe covering his right side. While he wore bandages that covered his forehead and right eye the most significant feature was the scar on his chin in the shape of an 'X'.
The other two, walked past giving each a stiff nod before leaving, the third on the other hand stopped as his visible eye focused on Naruto. "Ah, Uzumaki-san, are you well?"
"I am, thank you. You already know who I am, may I know who you are and how you know who I am?"
"You are much more interesting than I have been told. I am Danzo Shimura, one of the civilian elders, it is in my interest to know about everyone in my village"
"Well then Danzo-san, while it was nice to meet you, I am about to meet with Hokage-sama" with that Danzo nodded and followed what Naruto presumed to be the other Elders. Naruto was suspicious of the man and it decided to give him a wide berth in the future.
Naruto's suspicions were confirmed when Anko approached him "Naruto-" he took note of the uncommon use of his name "- stay away from that man, he's known as 'The Darkness of the Shinobi', he's an old war hawk who wants the hidden leaf to rule after we decimate all the other nations"
"That's nice to know, I was just thinking the same thing, I'll keep my distance"
"That's all I ask" they both smiled at each other. "We should go see the old man; I still want you all to see this"
The three of them made it up to the old Sarutobi's office. "Ah, I was told you three wanted to see me"
"Just like I told Anko-sensei old man I was the one who wanted to see you with them, um, on that would you know where Neko is?"
"Yes, would you like her here as well?"
"If possible, that would be great"
Hiruzen nodded "Tora"
From the back corner of the room out leaps a male ANBU member with short, shaggy brown before standing at attention "Hai, sir"
"Go relieve Neko of her guard, Neko will be in section S-three and inform her to come here immediately"
"Hai, sir" Just as he finished speaking, he body flickered out of the room in a swirl of leaves.
No less than two minute later Neko appeared in the middle of the room crouched on one knee.
"You sent for me Hokage-sama"
"Ah Neko, at ease, as your guard was low priority and you were personally requested for this meeting, I sent Tora to take your place"
"May I ask why I was requested sir?" While it was protocol to not show emotion whilst adorning a mask in ANBU she couldn't help but tilt her head in confusion.
"As you can see who we have with us, you can see what our topic is" the Hokage said whilst gesturing to the three others in the room. Before the female ANBU could say anything, Naruto interjected.
"Hey, Neko-sensei!"
"Hello Naruto-kun" It was visible even through the mask that the ANBU member was smiling, this further confused Iruka who was confused as to why an ANBU member would be personally acquainted with his student. Anko, on the other hand was irked.
"Now that we are all here, there is something that I want to show you all"
Neko was intrigued straight-away, similar to the other two had low expectations of what this boy could do, but she did understand who she was thinking about, so it could be anything.
"Jiji, could you please pass me that blank scroll, I'm sorry if you need it later but I'll need it for my demonstration" Hiruzen complies with a curt nod, handing the scroll to the young boy.
Naruto took the scroll and held his hand against it, ten seconds past. When he removed his hand the kanji 数の強さ were visible. All in the room identified it as a seal.
"Anko-sensei, could you please pin this scroll to th-" The scroll was knocked out of his hands and pinned to the opposite wall of the room. "God-dammit Sensei!" Naruto took a look at the situation before sighing "Kinda nostalgic, that was the same way you greeted me the second time we met" Naruto finished with a content smile. This got a sheepish grin and scratching of the back of the head from Anko as she turned away with a faint rosy hue along her cheeks.
Anyway, now I'll place the seal on your arm Jiji" sensing his caution he tried to calm the man down "Don't worry old man, this seal has nothing affects the body, mind or chakra pathways" The old man relaxed before pulling up his sleeve and offering his forearm, once again Naruto placed his hand, this time on the appendage and released it after close to ten seconds. Just as before there was the seal, the Hokage if he was surprised did not let it show.
"Now watch closely" Everyone took note of how Naruto was bouncing up and down, just as Anko was about to scold him he vanished. Just gone. Everyone snapped their heads to the other seal and saw Naruto standing there waving vigorously. Once again before they could say anything he disappeared again appearing, standing on top of the Hokage's desk.
'Thud' The sound of four jaws hitting the floor simultaneously.
It was a good few moments before the respected leader shook his head, proceeding to pinch himself, just making sure he wasn't dreaming.
"N-Naruto, do you understand what you just did?" his response was a massive grin and fervent nods.
"Instant travel, isn't it cool"
"Naruto, what do you mean 'instant'?" Hiruzen couldn't believe it.
"Well, there is no gap in time between me being here" he said pointing to where he was standing "And me being here" he said as he once again was standing on the opposite side of the room. The old Sarutobi still refused to acknowledge what he had seen, it couldn't be that jutsu, it just couldn't.
"I may be no seal master, but would you mind explaining it to me?"
"Sure, these seals store a minimal amount of my chakra, and retain my chakra signature. As it has my signature it acts a beacon, it allows me to open a pocket dimension, I decide on which seal I want to go to, then I appear next to that seal"
That was it, the Hokage and this group were broken, no one could do anything but stare at the child.
"I know, why don't we finish this meeting at my apartment?" Naruto created a shadow clone for everyone there they placed a hand on each person's shoulder. The next second everyone was in Naruto's apartment.
The three younger shinobi fell to their knees before sluggishly finding their way to their feet. Hiruzen was seated when they vanished so when they appeared, he was the least graceful of them all, he landed on his backside before rolling onto his front to have all of his lunch escape, due to his age the motion sickness hit him the worst. As they appeared the clones all poofed into small clouds of smoke.
While Anko was still astonished about what Naruto had just done she couldn't help but let her mischievous side out. "My my Naruto-Kun is this how you get two beautiful women to your apartment?" she said in a sensual manner, emphasising the affectionate suffix while pressing her well endowed chest against his back. Unfortunately for her, Naruto had developed a similar trait
"Would you mind if I said it was Anko-Chan?" his response to the question was a beet red Anko struggling to look the boy in the eyes, a stumbling ANBU member and two jealous males.
As Anko was about to counter, Iruka stepped forward, still just in complete disbelief "Naruto, that's, that's incredible, when did you have the time to come up with that?"
"I didn't come up with it, I simply changed the original seal to fit me" This confused all but two in the room. Nevertheless, he tried to continue but was interrupted by Hiruzen "Naruto, that was the prized jutsu of my successor"
"Huh? That doesn't make sense"
"What doesn't make sense?"
"If your saying what I think your saying, that would mean I'm related to the Fourth Hokage" As soon as he said that all in attendance noticed the Hokage stiffen, this would not be important if he was simply another ninja. But this was the Hokage, he had lived through multiple wars and led a shinobi Village for decades.
"What is it Hokage-sama?" The way he said it implied that he knew that something was being hidden from him. The aged Sarutobi tried to slowly diffuse the situation. "How would you know that you were related to the Fourth Hokage?"
"Well, when I found the original seal the reaction it gave me was what would show when chakra signature is similar, it glowed" Hiruzen knew the jig was up.
"Naruto take us back to my office, I'll show you the truth about your situation and what you want to see" Naruto begrudgingly created four more shadow clones, they took a hold of everyone and once again they found themselves in the Hokage's office. Afterwards the clones disappeared again.
Hiruzen tried to wash off the effects of the instant transportation, he then slowly made his way to his desk. He opened the top drawer on the right side of the desk, in the drawer there were three scrolls, a light blue scroll, a deep red scroll and a vivid yellow scroll, the light blue scroll had emblazoned on it.
'Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze'
"This will tell you what you want to know, your parents"
"Uh? Old man what's this Namikaze business?"
"Please, just read it first, I'll answer all of your questions afterwards" he said to the boy before turning to the others "I would prefer if you were to stay outside for this, so pl-"
"Not happening old man, if it's important I want them to be here too" The Hokage gave him a solemn nod before handing the scroll over.
Naruto gingerly took the scroll from the aged Hokage, this was it he would finally know something about his parents, better yet he would know who they were.
Slowly undoing the knot of the string that kept the scroll closed, when undone he placed it on the desk and slowly unravelled the scroll.
It was his birth certificate.
On it, it read:

Naruto couldn't believe it, he refused to believe it, why? Why would this be kept from him?
"Hokage-sama" he began in a completely impassive voice, the silence after the start was deafening "What are those two scrolls?" Hiruzen was not expecting this, he expected Naruto to lash out, he almost wanted him to, he felt like he deserved to be yelled at, but the tone the boy spoke in shook the Hokage to his core.
What could he really expect, the boy had just been told something that would change his life forever, there was no way for one to act. He would just have to try and rebuild the trust with the boy.
"Hokage-sama, I will collect my thoughts. I will have questions for you at the end of the week"
Before any of them could say something to the blond he disappeared. Anko had seen what is said, safe to say she was furious.
"You are despicable, you know what he has gone through and yet you held this from him. Why?!"
"If someone killed Naruto what would you want?" without hesitation she responded
"I'd come after them, they wouldn't live through what I would put them through"
"Exactly"
"Huh?"
"Minato is less than liked in the Hidden Stone Village" Anko wasn't quite receiving the full message.
"I still don't understand"
"Would you go after the child of the man who took young Naruto away from you?"
"No, of course not, not for the purpose of revenge anyway" The aged Hokage just sighed "Well that makes you smarter than more than half of Stone as they on more than one occasion have stated their raw unbridled hatred for 'The Yellow Flash' and any chance there may be living relatives of him" Sarutobi only dropped his head further as he continued " I couldn't tell him, If he knew he'd tell everyone, believe him or not he would say it and the walls have ears, word would reach Earth country, the amount of assassination attempts would be ludicrous"
"Scold me, for I deserve it, I know it was all he ever wanted"
Neko decided it was time to voice her thoughts "Permission to speak freely?"
"Go ahead"
"I will not allow myself to join my well-respected leader in his pity party, as you always say, 'don't worry what happened then, think about what you can do now'."
The beginning of her small speech started in her cold commanding tone but as she continued her posture softened
Iruka was the last to break out his stupor, but when he did finally speak he spoke for the three of them "Hokage-sama, while I do not like or respect your decision, I understand it, I notice you were unable to tell him of the fox, I – I would like to be the one to tell him"
"You are right Iruka-kun, please, go tell him now, it might end up being too much for him, but he needs to know we are being completely open"
Hiruzen turned from Iruka and set his gaze upon the three "You three are dismissed, but before you go, please be there for him, God knows he needs it, please do this for me as I will try to do the same"
"Hai Hokage-sama" this was only chorused by two members, Neko was interested 'Anko-chan, I will need to talk to you later about this' she thought.
As all three turned to leave the Hokage spoke up "Actually, Anko, please stay behind. We need to clear the air" He spoke in a way that left her with no way out of it.
"Of course, Hokage-sama"
The other two noted the hostility on display before they exited the office.
"Anko, what is your relationship to Naruto?"
"I'm his sensei, someone he can learn from and trust" Hiruzen knew that she knew what he was asking and would avoid it, so he persisted. "Let me re-phrase that question, what are your feelings towards my grandson figure, keep this in mind I see what is happening in this Village the entire time" Anko, to her credit kept her reaction minimal, a slight shuffle and widening of the eyes before regaining her composure.
"If you know what is going on, then why ask me?"
"To do one of two things, one, push you to admit what your feeling or realise what you're feeling" Anko's glare returned, this conversation was testing her patience.
"Pray tell, what am I feeling? Why is it of importance?"
"I cannot tell you what you feel or whether you should feel it or not, but I can tell you why it is important. Inevitably, Naruto will become a shinobi, if you were on the mission with him and he was to be injured or worse. You, being emotionally and mentally disposed will likely put yourself in further dangerous positions, being a leader of this village and everyone within in it, I cannot in good conscience allow that to happen"
Anko seemed to take in what the old Sarutobi had to say, and to be honest, she agreed. When on missions her mind often travelled to the young blond, if he was then on the mission with her, it would be unlikely for her to not think about him.
The age gap was that of twelve years, while she knew that Naruto was not the man to criticise on that front, she felt like he deserved someone his age. She'd buried the trauma induced by her former sensei; this would be no sweat.
She turned to the Hokage with a face stricken with hopelessness.
"I am aware of my feelings; I know it would not work therefore I can push them aside, I've done it before, I'll do it again"
"I am not doors closing any doors on you, you clearly make him happy, that is all I wish"
"Thank you, sir, though our situations would not allow for it to work, especially with his ambitions" She promptly left before he could get another word in.
He just sighed 'I think you are making a mistake' he thought before swivelling on his chair to look out at the sunset.
'Jiraiya needs to know'
~ Same Time on top of Fourth Hokage's Head (Hokage Monument) ~
Naruto was atop his newly discovered father's head. Naruto was broken he couldn't think straight, he was the son of a legend, a man who practically won a war by himself, he was still praised a decade after passing. What had Naruto done to get none of that? He by no means wanted to be treated like royalty, but some respect wouldn't go astray.
Naruto was not angry, no, he was confused, his idol, the fastest shinobi ever, 'The Yellow Flash' was his father, he should have been ecstatic or angry, 'What should I be feeling right now?'. If Sasuke was treated like a prince, he would of at least be treated the same way, there was still something that was missing, what could be that big?
Naruto was pulled from his though by the slowly presence. Iruka had decided to approach Naruto slowly, he was about to tell him the final piece of the puzzle.
Naruto's eyes met Iruka's, the latter noticed the confusion evident in the younger boys eyes. "I see you have found that there was something that was missing, what I'm about to tell must be not be told to anyone unless you are sure you can trust them, this is a dangerous secret, do you understand?"
Naruto in all honesty was unsure if he could take another shock but he knew that to fully understand his predicament, he would need to know everything.
"Now I asked Sarutobi-sama so do not be disappointed for the fact that he was not the one to tell you" Naruto was on the edge of pulling his hair out in anticipation, he just wanted to know what had happened for his life to be like this.
"Naruto, what was your father most famous for?"
"Killing the Nine-tailed fox?" Naruto was unsure what relevance this held.
"Exactly, now how do you suppose you go about killing a living embodiment of chakra?"
"You can't kill chakra sensei" Iruka was finding it really hard to get to the point, but he was glad that the boy would finally know.
"Of course, now how would you propose you defeat a mass of chakra?"
"You could seal it, though you would.. need... a..." Naruto's eye's were as wide as dinner plates when it clicked, 'That was what was missing!'. His father sealed into his son! What kind of father does that? When Naruto finally passed on, he vowed that his father would die again!
As he collected his thoughts, he replied with a detached stare.
"You would need a live host to seal a tailed beast as an active will would be required to hold such power at bay"
"I know it's a lot, but we all believed you deserved to know, it must feel like the world is crashing down around you ne?" Naruto wanted to repute the statement but was beaten to it "Naruto you must feel like you were picked because some higher power wanted to smite you but please have this thought, would you respect you leader or father who sacrificed someone else's child. He not only sacrificed your life but his own as well, he obviously trusted you with such power and looking at who he was and who you are now I can't fault his decision"
Iruka turned his gaze from the boy to the golden and pink sunset.
"This is what you protect from the demon daily, you are a hero. I know this may be a selfish request but, don't give up on your dreams if not for yourself, for me. You don't need to do anymore; I couldn't be prouder of you. Never forget that you are Naruto Uzumaki now Uzumaki-Namikaze, the future Hokage and legendary shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, please, promise me you'll never forget that"
Naruto was floored, he stared at the older man glossy-eyed, the man he saw as an older brother knew of what he had within him and didn't care, in fact he respected him for it. He had gotten what he finally wanted, and it felt so good it hurt, recognition. Naruto told himself he would strive for this with every villager, shinobi and civilian alike, not just for the respect, but because he knew he needed to protect them.
"Hai Iruka-nii-san, I will take that old man's hat, I'll make sure you can always be proud of me, this Village will be my family!"
"Like I said Naruto nothing you do will stop me being proud of you. But, if you keep falling asleep in my lectures, I'll have you scrub every square inch of the academy and there'll be no shadow clones allowed, got it!?"
"Hai, sensei!" Naruto said while cowering under the commanding stare. Once those words left his mouth, the ominous aura left the older brother figure.
"Good, now" he said whilst clasping his hands together firmly "Why don't we get you some ramen, this talking has left me famished"
"Woohoo, let's go nii-san!" Naruto bolted of before Iruka could even think.
'That's Naruto for you, nothing really will get him down, I think he's going to make everyone proud' he thought.
~ Two Hours Later ~
Naruto as soon as he exited the ramen stall flashed to his apartment, while he had been motivated before, that was for his own benefit.
Now, he was going to get stronger for everyone else.
~ End of the Week ~
Naruto had promised that he would talk to the Hokage at the end of the week, it had been five days since then, he had decided upon what he wanted to do.
Naruto didn't feel like he could fully trust the old man yet, he fully understood why, but that didn't mean he had to accept it. He would give him another chance as even after everything he kept from him, he deserved it.
He approached the door of the office then knocked, after hearing a muffled 'Enter' he twisted the doorknob opened it and slowly tracked his way into the office.
"Naruto-kun, I hope you were able to come to some decisions"
"Hai Hokage-sama" Hiruzen let out a deep sigh, he knew that the trust between him and Naruto had taken a serious hit but with constant support of the boy he was sure he could earn it back.
"What is it that you would like to know?"
"Nothing right now, right now I would like to look over my inheritance if possible, I have no intentions to tell everyone about my heritage"
"You aren't able to claim certain elements until you are a legal adult eighteen or Genin rank, there are lower priority items that can be given to you would you like to oversee them?" All he received was a stiff nod.
Hiruzen reached back into the top drawer, pulled out the same ruby red that he had before, he opened it, and unsealed two scrolls from it all a dull grey. These scrolls were unmarked, so Naruto presumed that what was contained in them was labelled on the larger scroll.
Naruto took the first scroll, opened it and applied chakra to the seal, it was a set of keys, Naruto looked at the old man in confusion.
"Your mother lived by herself before having a relationship with your father, this house was located in the vicinity of the Senju clan compound, as they were distant relative, they provided her with land. There is only one known Senju alive right now and they have no intentions of returning, so, I think you should have it"
Naruto was unsure as to whether that would be the best course of action of actions, seeing the contemplative face on the young boy he seemed to answer that the child was thinking "There would be no way to trace you living there to having any relation to Kushina, she was quite secretive about her where abouts, it is unlikely that anyone would know where she lived"
That seemed to calm Naruto, while he loved his apartment and it was well and truly his home, he was getting too large for it. A house would be much easier for him to live in and continue to further himself, also if you don't adjust to change you get left behind.
"I'd be able to move in?"
"Of course, it is yours"
Naruto nodded in acceptance before moving to the second scroll, when opened this scroll contained multiple seals labelled 'kunai'. "As you should know you father, the second user of the Flying Raijin after my sensei Tobirama Senju, you are now the heir of such a weapon, this scroll contains all the kunai your dad used for the jutsu, you will need to change the seal to yours but you look like there will be no struggle in that. This will save you revealing yourself to anyone else"
Naruto had been looking for a medium to increase the efficiency, his dad had basically given him forty mobile seals, this was great, he knew he'd have to keep them quiet until he at least graduated.
"There is one more thing that I would like for you to have. We will need an ANBU escort to provide a Genjutsu for where we are travelling"
"Why is that?"
"Your father was somewhat of a security freak, you and only you will be able to access his study, that Is where I presume, he kept his knowledge. We will need the ANBU to provide the Genjutsu, so people don't watch us wander into the former Villages leader's house"
"That… is a lot less complicated then I thought" Naruto admitted, he had completely over analysed the reasons for ANBU escorts.
"Shall we go?" The Hokage queried.
"We shall" Naruto answered.
~ Half an Hour Later (Minato Namikaze's Estate) ~
"Here we are" Naruto gazed upon the battle-hardened geezer, he could see the self-loathing and contempt rolling off of him in waves. That's was when it struck him, 'This should have been the house I grew up in! This should have been my home!', he felt like someone had just added an extra hundred kilograms to his shoulders, it felt like he was underwater, he was stuck, drowning the thoughts of what would have been.
While Naruto knew that the Hokage was not to blame for his situation, he knew the old man did not feel the same, he wondered what it would have been like to grow up in this house, where would he be right now? He banished those thoughts to the furthest recesses of his mind; he would not wallow in self-pity.
"You will need to apply your blood and Chakra to the seal, as you are his son it will accept you due to the close relation of you DNA and chakra signature."
As Naruto and the old Sarutobi walked through the gates they approached the house, it just seemed to confuse him even more, the leader of his village resigned himself to such a humble abode, a simple three-story house with a minor tower structure connecting to the back. In retrospect to say this is humble seemed ridiculous, but when compared to the gloriousness of the Hyuga compound it is long forgotten.
As Naruto was instructed, he bit his thumb and spread the blood across the seal array on the door handle, after that he gripped it channelling chakra into it, with a resounding click, the door unlocked. Naruto opened the door and could help but cringe at the churning feeling in his gut.
This was what a home felt like.
Coming home to this felt right, he would bring his family here, allowing members of his family to happily arrive here was a goal bigger than that of the Hokage position.
"You will receive this when you are recognised as an adult, you may look around, but it will be at least two years until you can move in"
"Thank you, Hokage-sama, I would like to collect my fathers writings, then have a look around if possible?"
"I will no longer restrict you; you have earnt it, they would be so proud, just as I am. I have no doubt that you will surpass them if you choose to"
Naruto loved the feeling talking to his grandfather gave him, it more than made up for his missing parents, while he did not fully trust the man anymore, he would never forget the time they spent together.
"As you said, follow me to his study, his study was located on the bottom floor, just like with the front door, you will need to apply blood and chakra to access it."
Once again Naruto followed the steps and opened the door, compared to the scarily neat house, it was like a tornado had ripped through the study. He could already tell that his father had spent multiple nights at this desk likely weeks glued to it with Kushina force-feeding him food when he didn't come out.
The was scripture of all types of seals, improving the efficiency for chakra required on summoning contracts, that would be massive! Something that Naruto picked up on was that if his papers were anything to go off, that his father's ninjutsu arsenal was minimal at best. He had the Flying Raijin, Body Flicker, Shadow Clones and Shadow Clone Shuriken and Kunai, and this weird Jutsu, now Naruto voiced his confusion "Ah, Hokage-sama could you tell me what this is?"
"Mmm, the Rasengan, aside from the Flying Raijin it was his most famed jutsu, personally created. It took him three years to get to the stage that he was at"
"What do you mean?" Going off the look of the schematics of the jutsu it was monstrous, it could flatten immense terrain, it had so much potential
"As destructive and powerful as that jutsu is, it is not completed. What he used was pure chakra shape manipulation, he believed it would be completed with the addition of a chakra element, out of the three people who can use that jutsu, none of them have been able to do it"
"Who were those three?"
"Aside from your father, he passed the technique to my student and his sensei, Jiraiya of Mount Myoboku-"
"-My godfather-"
"-Please hold nothing against him, he runs the spy contacts and with my other student's departure" Naruto noted the guilt in his voice "He has needed to be on the job full time, I promised him though that when you were ready, I would call him in, after our earlier meeting I have done just that. You will see him in a month's time"
That appeased Naruto, he respected doing one's duty for the village and he was the product of sacrificing family for that, so he could respect that, but he would pester him about his parents until he dropped.
"The other person is your fathers student, Kakashi Hatake, Kakashi has come the furthest in implementing a chakra nature into the Rasengan, you will have to ask him about that though. He, due to the loss of many family members and friends alike has suffered great trauma, while you may not have met him personally, he has looked after you"
'ANBU' was all that the young boy could think, he had become aware of the ANBU shadowing him when he was younger as he picked the hand signs that Hiruzen tried to keep out of view, these were commands.
"When you meet him give him a chance, he has so many demons from his past that I'm surprised that he hasn't cracked, he needs people"
Naruto was surprised that the Hokage was being so open with him about fellow ninja, even if they were connected to his father.
Naruto collected as much as he could and sealed it into a scroll for later reading.
After a small tour of the house, he decided to leave because if he stayed any longer, he doubted he would be able to.
Naruto thanked the Hokage for his time, continuously referring to him as 'Hokage-sama'. He then made his way home, after the talk with Iruka, Naruto had the motivation and now he had the means to achieve his goals.
During the walk home, he noted the world seemed slightly clearer, answers tend to do that to someone.
He immediately looked into the Rasengan, it intrigued him greatly, similar to the Flying Raijin, it's versatility was immense. Chakra shape manipulation was something that he had never attempted, and he knew what that meant.
Back to the chakra control exercises.

That's That, another chapter done, please forgive any spelling or grammar errors, using the copy paste implementation causes some issues, please don't blame me.
We go introduced to Danzo, how did that go, hopefully not to robotic.
Please let me know who you would like Naruto's team placement to go,
personally i would have him apprenticed by Jiraiya otherwise the teams would remain the same with the inclusion of a young Sai into team 7, i would have Genma Shiranui take up Jiraiya's spy network, if you think that would be good let me know
JA NE!
