Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 213 - A wrench in our plans.
Raptor's POV, A few hours later.
I sat upstairs in my room just contemplating life and my general well being. Ever since Marcus introduced me to mediating I've been feeling a bit more at peace with myself. My power surges when I'm at my best and thanks to the girls agreeing to leave me alone for as long as it took I was more than ready to show some gratitude. I figured I might as well try and offer someone something. I knew who to try it out on first and at least if questioned I had a reason.
Sitting along my bed and playing with a small tennis ball I found in my closet, I tossed it between my hands and did my best to muster up the will to leave the room. Between my passes I felt someone coming up the stairs. To no surprise it was Zeta who knocked before coming in to whisper.
"Hey."
"Hey." I replied back as she entered to see me playing with myself. Giving me this gentle giggle she wondered.
"Having fun up here all by yourself?"
I didn't make eye contact and Zeta picked up on my sense of not wanting to joke with her. She quickly lost her smile and began to let out a soft low growl. I knew she was going to wind up hitting me sooner or later so to avoid that I suddenly tossed her my ball. Instantly she widened her eyes and caught it in her lap as I looked up to smile at her. She lost that growl just as fast as she gained it and questioned.
"You must think you're funny."
"Oh?" I replied as she tossed me back the ball to state what she thought was my stereotype.
"You really think just cause I'm a wolf that I'm just gonna suddenly lose track of how mad I am at you by tossing a ball my way?"
She was clearly not as mad as she made herself out to be. Her tone was still playful as I questioned.
"Does it not get your attention? I saw your eyes light up."
"That doesn't mean shit!" She replied with a small laugh as she walked over to me to offer her hand. Handing her back the ball she took it and began to juggle it around. As she did she stated.
"I admit it's fun, but I'm not about to lose all my focus and start running after it. That's where you get the wrong idea about us wolves."
"You wana bet?" I asked her next as she instantly replied.
"Bet! What are we putting up?"
"Nothing. I already know I'm right so I don't wana just make this a robbery. You'd have to have a chance at winning first before I decide to put something up." Widening her eyes Zeta replied back.
"You're first of all a cuck for thinking we're like her."
My eyes went to the very corner of my room to see Molly laying under my cloak that I had with the rest of my gear. She was getting bigger and soon she wouldn't be able to ride me. However I had good faith and replied to my more intelligent counterpart.
"It's DNA. You're all the same."
"No we are not!" She replied back now raising her voice and moving in to swat my head. As she clonked me I urged her with a serious glare back to the door.
"Watch then."
Zeta was confused by what I meant and turned around just in time to see Pepper making her way to the door. I caught her the instant our eyes made contact and quickly chucked the ball right out into the hallway. The ball swung right over her left shoulder and just like clockwork the wolf's eyes went wide and lit up with play. Pepper then lost all sense of calm movement and broke out into a quick sprint to chase the ball as it bounced off the bathroom door. As she did such a thing I patted Zeta on the leg to tell her.
"See? I'm right."
She was actually offended by Pepper's actions and shouted at her as she got a hold over the ball to turn around and face us again.
"Don't play to his standards Pep! God damn it!"
Pepper was confused as she came back in to walk the ball to me. Gently placing it in my hand I laughed and then added.
"And she even brought it back."
Pepper again was unsure what was happening but I took that as my chance to stand up and try to make space. Zeta however shouted while laughing in anger.
"You're not right about us!"
"You're not right about us! Blah blah blah!" I mocked as I walked between them to hear Pepper question.
"What are you guys talking about?"
Zeta quickly replied as I entered the hallway to get heading for the guest room.
"He thinks we're like Molly! Says we have all the same quirks wild dogs do and I'm trying to tell him he's not right! That's a stereotype and he's just getting lucky!"
"We do have the same quirks though?" Pepper questioned in confusion as Zeta screamed.
"Don't give him any more reason to think he's smart!"
Pepper quickly chuckled as her defense to giving me the one up. However by then I was already opening the door leading to where Tusk was these last few hours. He was reading something on his phone but looked up to widen his eyes seeing I was clearly now in the room. Lowering his phone he asked.
"What's up? Long time no talk."
Smiling slightly as I neared the side of the bed, I replied back while still playing with the ball.
"How you feeling? Did Raze help you at all?"
Keeping his eyes on me he replied.
"Yeah she did. I'm slowly getting back to where I need to be. Hopefully I can walk soon and leave this fucking bed. Can't say I enjoy becoming a potato Voltz."
I chuckled as he at least had a sense of humor, but I had to lose all that soon enough. Looking back to the man I told him bluntly.
"Gorgon is dead. I killed him earlier this morning. I figured you should know."
Nodding Tusk replied.
"Blitz told me. Can't say I feel for him. He was a good leader but he had that coming. The kid however, Raptor that was a little unexpected. I didn't know he was even in the country; let alone so close to your men and that involved. But I guess you made a point of it."
"Yeah…..?" I groaned as he then wondered.
"So what now? I saw the news. The rebellion is in shambles with infighting now that you went public. That interview has been circled on most channels since it was released. The rebellion can't even force it away because now almost everyone has it recorded or it's on the internet. A different story entirely but it's forever public. I heard a lot of the men are refusing to enforce the lock down now. Probably have a good feeling you'll be coming back soon to fix this mess."
"I will." I replied as he nodded and then asked me sensing I had something to say.
"What's wrong? You look like you want to say something else."
With Pepper and Zeta in the room listening just behind me, I replied.
"I know you probably don't care much for me, but I know you live in this part of the world. I know in the end you want to help your kids grow up to be better. To do great things and to be better people. I want to help you do that, but regardless I need you to help me in the end and you can't do that being crippled. If you'd give me a chance…..I can make it so you can leave this bed now rather than in another two weeks."
Tusk was utterly confused and lost by what I was saying and questioned.
"What?"
Handing him the ball I replied.
"I just need your word that you'll stand by me and help. I promise it won't hurt. All you gotta do is say yes."
The echidna was still completely lost by what was going on and looked to Pepper to ask her.
"What is he talking about Zeta?"
The wolf kept quiet as Raze came in to see us all standing here. In concern she asked while running over to the other side of the bed.
"What's happening Raptor? Are you okay Tusk?"
Tusk nodded as I urged him one last time.
"Just trust me. Please."
Our eyes locked and it took maybe ten seconds for him to take the risk and reply.
"I don't know what you mean, but I don't have a choice regardless, so…..just do what you want, but don't put me in any more pain than I already am in."
Raze now focused on me as I smiled and gently began to make space by urging Pepper and Zeta to take a step back. Tusk was eyeing me down like a hawk and without a warning I reached out to feel his damaged hips. They were still bruised and swollen but I knew I could fix that and everything else. I wanted to help someone and this was my chance to see how far I could go now that I was fully rested. With Tusk taking a deep breath I urged him.
"Just breathe calmly. I promise…...this won't be long."
Raze quickly widened her eyes and questioned out loud.
"Wait! Are you doing what I think you're doing Raptor?!"
Zeta and Pepper knew what was happening and knew I needed to focus as I shut my eyes. So grabbing her by the arm Pepper ordered her.
"Shut it girl. Let the man work."
Tusk was a little nervous. I could feel it as I held him still but that all went away when I started working on his injuries. At first the echidna had the temptation to move but feeling his hips coming back together I urged him.
"Stay still."
He listened as Raze did her best to try to get closer and watch. It wasn't that bad so far. His hips were good to go so I moved to his legs. One at a time I made my way down feeling the broken bones as I did. Tusk had his eyes shut cause I knew he could feel the heat coming off my hands and entering his skin. I'm sure he could feel the bones going back together too and I knew what that felt like. However as I got done his right leg and went to work on his left, I lost a bit of my control and coughed. Raze widened her eyes as a small bit of blood left my mouth with a small trail running to my chin.
"Raptor?" She said in concern as I opened my eyes to look at Tusk who at this point looked at me in utter loss for words as I just forced myself forward. The blood was a small amount and I couldn't feel much pain but it was still enough to cause Zeta to approach my side to get a look for herself and urge.
"Stop."
I shook my head and once his legs were back in working order I asked him.
"Can you move them?"
It took a second but Tusk broke out of his trance to put effort into his legs. His whole mind went still as he wasn't even ready for them to move. I think he thought it was impossible in the first place so it shocked him even more when he began to lift them off the bed and even managed to fold them up to the knees. I smiled with blood still leaving my mouth and again urged him while walking back to his side.
"Sit up."
The echidna obeyed without question and sat up and threw his legs over the bed. Now we were leveled with one another and very carefully I asked him.
"Can you lift your arms for a second?"
"Yeah?" He replied as he did it. His voice was nothing but stunned as he said that. I knew I was sending him through a crazy trip of mental awareness as I placed my hands around the sides of his chest. I could feel the ribs that were still healing and decided to just do the full treatment and began to focus on giving them the rest they needed to function without pain. Tusk had ever right to question me after this but once I was confident he was okay I pulled back to step into the waiting arms of my girlfriend who gently begged me.
"Turn around."
I listened and she went to work on wiping the blood of my mouth. Tusk on the other hand took a chance and stood up as Raze chuckled in disbelief.
"That's fucking crazy!"
At first Tusk was unsure on what to say or even what to think as his legs were perfect at doing what they were meant to do now. He could walk and I'm pretty sure I handled most of his pain. Zeta was still worried for me but I managed to get away from her to refocus on Tusk who questioned as he looked back at me.
"What the hell did you do to me?"
Giving him a small smile I replied.
"I did what I said I would do for you. Now do I have your word you'll help me?"
At first he replied.
"I'm fucking lost for what you just did. How the fuck? I'm in no pain at all now and that shouldn't be right. I got blown up. I knew once I recovered I wouldn't be able to walk right ever again and I knew there would be pain, but whatever the fuck you just did to me negated all that and I'm a man of science believe it or not Voltz so you gotta tell me what you did cause it ain't making any sense."
I didn't know what to really say but Raze came out and shouted.
"He's a god Tusk."
"Excuse me?" He questioned as Zeta laughed and added.
"She's not lying Tusk. I know it sounds crazy but trust me."
The man was at a complete loss as I took my chance to walk away. Everyone looked at me as I calmly urged the group of my friends while reaching the door.
"Fill him in, but remember this stay between us for now. I need to take a minute to rest."
As I entered the hall I could tell Tusk was now feeling a type of way. I knew I was messing his reality up but he was actually more concerned with not saying thank you. Not like I could blame him. How do you just say something that simple to someone who just saved your life? I guess I'll just have to forgive him for not trying.
As I walked I decided to go lay back down in my bed. The second I did Molly came out from under my cloak to join me. As she came to my side I told her.
"You don't have to baby. I'm just gonna close my eyes for a little bit."
She ignored my comment and as I was now on my back she placed her whole head over my chest and just went back to sleeping like she once was. I chuckled for a moment but soon joined her. The energy I was using doing things like that was getting smaller and smaller each time. I seemed to be progressing and that's what mattered to me. Maybe soon it would just be second nature. After this nap I'll go see Clamer.
