Ghosts, Goblins and Murder
Chapter One
It was Halloween early morning and the children had yet to be going out in their costumes as with the grownups. It was going to be a beautiful evening with the grownups dressing up as well with a full moon making it to be a true Halloween.
Two lone gunmen dressed as Ghosts walked into a convenience store to rob the 52th avenue vendor. This is not going to be the first time it was going to happen. The owner of the store wasn't liking the fact these two men dressed as Ghosts were pointing a rifle at him. While there wasn't any customers in the store.
The owner a 52 year old male had his own weapon hidden underneath the cash register in case of situations like this. However he did push the silent alarm in front of him alerting the 12th precinct and others that there was a robbery going down.
"I said let's have the cash or else you're going to be meeting your demise." The first male said while the other looked outside to see activity of some type that they didn't like at all.
"Jake, he alerted the police." Was all he said before firing his rifle at the owner to shoot him twice into his chest and with falling to floor behind the cash register. The two men pushed the door opened in order to get behind the counter and open up the cash register with whatever monies was inside.
Grabbing everything they can with a black bag. They headed out with Jake cutting himself against the back door leaving the evidence for the police to figure out who they might be...
Captain Kate Beckett was having an early lunch with Sergeant Esposito and Detective Kevin Ryan only a few blocks away from the convenience store when they heard the call on the scanner next to her.
They were discussing the crime rate with the recent holidays while drinking coffee after having Turkey Club Sandwiches. "Did you hear that call? It's only a few blocks from here Captain." Javier said while finishing his coffee.
"Come on let's go while I pay the bill and get out of here." She waived on the waitress letting her know they were leaving.
"Sure right away Captain Beckett." The young blonde woman will say with pulling out her ordering book to figure out the bill. "Here you go Captain it comes to $25.00 even. Please pay up front." She will reply with watching them head for the register to pay for the bill.
Beckett had left a $3.00 tip for her as she places the funds into her uniform pocket and with going back to work.
Sometime later they arrived with an ambulance and a coroner having been called to the seen arriving soon. They were hoping it was going to be Doctor Sydney Perlmutter. However the patrolmen had stopped Beckett and her two detectives letting them that the F.B.I. had been called in as well with the kidnapping of a young woman taken as a hostage in the alleyway.
"Do you happened to know who the woman's name is and what these suspects were wearing?" Detective Ryan will asked with the first of many questions.
"From what we can tell it was Rebecca Chase a model for famous modeling agency. Her wallet was found in the alleyway. As for the suspects they were wearing Halloween costumes as Ghosts. However we found evidence of blood captain. I can show you even though it's the F.B.I. game unless you asked nicely to help out?" Lt. Gerry Anderson will say to have Captain shaking her head at the idea.
They walked inside into the store to check for any security cameras. Beckett asked both detectives to get the name of the company and have it checked out with whether they are able to figure out who they are. Though with the blood stains the lab will probably be able to come up with an answer.
Doing it on the sly. Beckett had keep the Lt. Anderson busy with other questions. While Sergeant Esposito had taken a blood sample into an evidence bag and placing it into his coat pocket.
Meanwhile the F.B.I. agent Seth Hutchinson a known agent with the 12th precinct having worked with them in the past. He noticed Captain Kate Beckett right away walking over to her and touching her on the right shoulder. She turns around as a surprise to be hugged by him and than a shake of the hand.
"I understand Seth we have a kidnapping and a murder to process? Is it possible Seth to help out the F.B.I. with our own investigation?" She will asked with watching the reaction of Detective Kevin Ryan and with the coroner's van arriving.
"I will be able to yes Kate. Plus the fact we have worked in the past to be successful. This is not the first robberies and kidnappings during the past two weeks and why I am on the case and my partner Harry Franklin. He will meet us at the 12th precinct after speaking with our handler." He will state.
"Very well Seth we work together and share all Intel whenever possible on these cases of yours. However I don't like it when innocent bystanders like the owner of this store is taken down with a rifle and the monies taken. However this time I believe one of your suspects might of cut himself leaving bloodstains leaving out the back door."
She walked him over to it inside with by passing others like with Doctor Perlmutter and his assistant with removing of the body onto the stretcher. "What do you have Doc with the body?" Beckett will have to asked even though it was going to be a routine answer.
"It's obvious captain that the owner of the store was shot dead to rights with the first one in the head killing him instantly while the rest was plain gravy. Otherwise I will be sure to send you a full report on the autopsy Captain."
"Thanks, I can't wait!" She said with her usual sarcasm for when it comes to dealing with Perlmutter and his dry humor.
