Love Struck Delusion

Chapter 220 - Good thing you're here.

Raptor's POV, Later that night.

I was sleeping outside tonight. Or at least I would be for the next few years. Zeta was beyond upset with me and I couldn't blame her for being so. If she could she was planning to murder me in my sleep. That I'm sure of as I did my best to get ready to visit Clamer who I already had called in advance to inform him I was coming by tonight. At the moment however I was back home. Cody and the others were making their homes in the capital and the girls stayed with me like we agreed on. Pepper was in the living room watching TV and I was up in my room getting my shit together.

Word had already circulated about my intervention in the rebellion military once again and the city was back on its feet at least energy wise. My men were still cleaning up and thankfully my plans went okay once I got everyone on the same page. Hoffer agreed we needed to change and the other officers tagged along with the idea of getting G.U.N aid for it to happen. Not shortly after the meeting we had another with the men and women in the main courtyard. I allowed the news to record the event and it was posted and being ran on the TV at least once every hour. However not a word from Archer yet. I was curious what he was doing but right now I had to focus on myself for the time being. Starting with the one person coming up the stairs to see me.

Zeta came swinging into my room with a large bag. I turned to face her in silence with both my ears down and my need for caution high. She gave me this long huff and after a moment of just staring me down she came over to put the bag down on my bed next to Molly. She was out of uniform and just dressed up like any other girl her age would be. I didn't want her going out looking like a super soldier without me to back her up as to why. So in nothing more than a pair of black skinny jeans and a red tank top, The slim Russian wolf told me with a clearly angry voice.

"There's your order."

Carefully I walked over to look into the bag. Seeing that it was full of nothing but checkbooks I told her.

"Thank you."

I got another growl from her and I cracked a smile at her as my reaction as I whispered.

"I love you."

"Go….fuck…...yourself." She replied as I bit my tongue one more time and decided to start collecting my things. Seeing that I was clearly getting ready to leave she asked me not soon after I put away my wallet and Glock.

"Where are you going?"

Throwing my shirt over my Glock, I replied while picking back up my keys.

"To go see my therapist. I told him I would be swinging by tonight for a little."

She accepted my answer without much trouble coming from it. With her eyes going to the bag I gently gulped and asked her softly.

"Do you want to come with me?"

Her face got some of it's normal tone back as she was approached with the question. Almost lost by how to respond she replied.

"What? Why? Why would I want to come with you?"

Approaching her I replied.

"Well you always make a big deal about not being by my side when I go out to do stuff. And I kinda was hoping you would say yes if I asked nicely enough. I kinda told my doc you were important enough to me and that I'd try and get you to come see him one night. He wants to meet you."

Zeta was stunned for a moment on how to respond at first. After a few moments of trying to collect her thoughts she replied.

"I don't know about that Raptor. I don't really think I should get involved with your personal business."

Nudging her arm I told her back.

"You're already involved there pup. Just come with me for an hour. He's a nice guy and he really does want to see you in person. I've done nothing but talked good about you and it's not like we have to worry about anything now. Let's just go do this and come right back home. It's not going to be anything major I promise."

Letting out a sigh and at the same time fixing her hair. Zeta gave me this tiny smile. I smiled back as she soon replied.

"Fine. But I'm still mad at you."

"I know." I mumbled as I looked back to Molly who was just waiting there on my bed listening to what was being said. Sensing she was up till this point all cooped in on her own, I asked her next as Zeta fixed her shirt.

"Do you want to come with us?"

"Braf!" She replied as Zeta laughed and turned for the door as I knelt down to allow her to get on my back. Molly climbed right on but it was clear she was getting heavier. Soon she wouldn't be able to just do this. But I guess I should enjoy what time I have left of her just being a puppy. Once she was all ready to go I stood back up and began to follow Zeta back downstairs where Pepper was waiting with a confused look on her face as she saw the two of us getting ready to leave.

"Where are you off to?"

Smiling slightly Zeta replied.

"He wants me to go to his therapy session with him. Figured he might be able to convince me not to kill him."

Pepper gave her this chuckle as I got the door and told her.

"We'll be back in an hour. Don't burn the house down."

"No promises." She replied as we began our small trip into the city.

It took maybe twenty minutes. This time there were actually people outside and I was happy to see businesses back open at this hour. My men were spotted from time to time as we drove through the old checkpoints. I made it a habit to drive this way. This way I could see and make sure my orders were being listened to too. Thankfully so far I had no problems. However the wolf next to me had me on edge. We were almost at Clamer's house before she managed to say to me with some anger in her voice and Molly on her lap.

"Thirty five million dollars."

I didn't dare look at her. I actually did my best not to laugh. I knew she was pissed but at the same time I couldn't thank her enough. She hated it but she agreed to it. Which went more than anything else ever could right now. Her hard work was going to help thousands of people and I think that's the only reason she hasn't yet slit my throat.

"I worked my ass off. I risked my life for a fucking year making that money Raptor."

"I know." I replied carefully as she groaned.

"You're fucking lucky I love you. Otherwise you'd be dead about now."

"I'm going to pay you back." I tried to tell her as she clearly was grumpy about all this. Growling under her breath she replied.

"I'd focus on the others before worrying about what you now owe me. Unlike them I won't be going anywhere."

Smiling still I whispered.

"I love you."

"Mhmmmmm." She mumbled as I pulled into the driveway.

Picking up Molly and holding her till she got out of the car, Zeta began to look around. Unlike last time I was here it was a lot less noisy. As I locked up the car, Molly ran for the front door. Zeta followed behind me as I got it open for her and we began to head down the small hallway which led to his office. Once there I knocked and Molly sat and waited as Clamer could be heard moving from within. Before he got there I reached back with my right hand to grab Zeta's hand. She smiled slightly as I gave it a squeeze and let go. The second Clamer opened the door however Molly bolted in and that alone was enough to get him to look back and question in confusion.

"What the…?" Looking back to see me there he asked.

"Since when are you a dog person Raptor?"

Chuckling I listened as Zeta took the chance to reply for me.

"Since he started getting involved in our kind romantically."

Clamer was stunned for a moment by the voice and his eyes directed themselves right behind me to see her standing a foot away with a smile on her face. I walked on in as he offered her his hand and said back in concern.

"You must be Zeta. Right?"

Zeta nodded and took his hand.

"I'm Dr. Clamer. Raptor's therapist for the past few years. I've heard good things about you. I'm happy you decided to come along. May I ask before we sit down Zeta, but are you at all a fan of tea?"

I was already grabbing my normal spot on the couch as the wolf in question widened her eyes and replied kindly.

"Am I? I love tea. What kind?"

Clamer smiled and urged her to follow him with a response of.

"It's green tea. I made it last night when I last spoke to Raptor. It has a hint of chamomile and this time I spiced it up with some ginseng and orange peel. Would you like a cup?"

At this point I took notice of just how slim Zeta was outside combat armor. Slim but very beautiful. Her hair was growing out unlike her sister's and the blue managed to gently part itself near the base of her neck. With half of it covering her left eye she looked to the doctor to reply in such a nice and soft voice I almost questioned if I had ever heard before leave her lips.

"Yes please. I'd love to try it."

Clamer was just happy to have another drinking buddy to try out his mess. I liked tea but he was a bit of a fanatic. For the years I knew him prior he would always be making something different to have me try. Zeta was in for a best friend if she turned out to love it. Which seemed to be the case as I sat there watching them pour each other glasses. The whole time I just kept looking over my girlfriend. She was such a piece and I had no way of telling her. Her tail swung between her legs and her ears were perked up as she took a sip. Clamer waited for a reaction and in time she replied with a concerned voice.

"I think the orange peels gave it a little too much tang doc. Maybe a little less next time?"

Clamer nodded as he took a sip and replied back as he offered her a way back to where I was by moving aside.

"You may be right. It's taking a little too much away from the ginseng. I'll use one less next time. It should mellow out that tang you mentioned."

Zeta chuckled and walked back over to me. I couldn't help but stare at her body as she came right over to my side to sit down. Clamer soon joined us and by then Molly had found her way back over as well. The whole time she was looking around the room and getting a good feel of the smells in the air. Clamer watched her before saying anything else and once she was back at my side and sitting between my boots did he ask me.

"When did you get a dog Raptor? And she's a what? A coyote?"

I chuckled to myself and as Zeta had her focus on the tea I replied.

"Believe it or not I wasn't trying to find her in the first place doc. It was blind luck we crossed paths."

"Oh?" He mumbled back as he too began to continue drinking. As he took a big sip I went on to explain.

"I went out a few weeks back when I was still over in Pakistan hunting down Gorgon. I went against my better judgement and decided one night to visit the same spot I killed my father. In hopes I would find the gun I committed the crime with."

Pulling out the Glock and placing it on the coffee table between us, Clamer reached down for it after placing his cup down on the counter and with Zeta unsure of just how much he knew she continued to listen as I went on and he began to look it over in between his hands.

"I found it of course and I just so happened to run into an old building that used to be around the same area. It was a long time ago as you know so the building itself was long gone, but I found her trapped under some rubble. I assume just before I got there some of it came down on top of her. Thankfully I was there and I managed to handle her wounds. However she was there for a reason. Another coyote was there, one that was much larger compared to what I have here. I assume the mother. She was dead from the collapse and I've never been good at just letting animals starve or die alone. Not ones like her anyway and I think part of me needed the companionship. She's a loyal and very smart girl. I've never had a pet as well behaved as her and she's growing really fast. In time she'll be bigger than I think I can handle."

"She will grow fast. Very fast Raptor. Hopefully she'll be okay. Coyotes are not normally house pets believe it or not." Clamer told me as a joke. I chuckled and listened on as Zeta wondered.

"So pardon me for asking doctor, but how much do you know about Raptor and his situation?"

Clamer quickly replied while looking back to the woman sitting next to me.

"I know a lot. He's been very good these last few days when it's come to opening up to me. I know about his father and his past with G.U.N and of course I know about what he is now. As hard as it was for me to handle, I think I know now that I can trust what he tells me. He's been very honest and these last few days have been an experience for us both. I've never been a man of thinking gods or demigods could exist in the mortal realm we find ourselves in, but Raptor has again shown me otherwise."

"Are you not concerned about it then?" Zeta asked as I sat back and began to scratch my ear. As we waited for him to respond Zeta looked back to see me scratching myself. Giving me a smile she reached over to start taking control over said scratching. I groaned as Clamer finally replied.

"I'm about as concerned as I can be. I wish to know more about it and how it has come to be, but I'm not looking to push him. He's done really well on his own and I want it to remain that way. But Raptor?"

"Hmm?" I moaned with my eyes closed as Zeta chuckled and dug deeper into my head with her claws.

"When did you come to realize you had these powers? Was it from the beginning?"

I opened one eye to reply.

"I got my powers when I first made the deal to get revenge on Gorgon with the demon you know of. Once I agreed, he gave me what I needed to get it done. I was normal before all this. Before I lost Alicia and my way as a father."

"Have you seen this demon since you carried out the plan Raptor?" Clamer was careful with his questions and nodding I replied.

"I have yes. So has she."

Zeta looked back to Clamer but continued to scratch me. After shutting my eyes once again did he ask her.

"You've seen this man?"

Nodding she replied.

"I've seen him once. Yesterday was the first time we met. I didn't know it was him till after he was gone and Raptor told me."

"How did it go? What did he say? What does he look like?"

Zeta was unsure if I was comfortable having her answer that. Stopping her scratching and looking down at me, I nodded once and she replied to the doctor.

"He's a fox. He looks pretty young too."

"He's only twenty eight." I stated as they both looked back to me in confusion. Zeta was the first to question.

"He's older than me? He looks like he's twenty."

Laughing I then asked her.

"Do I look like I'm in my thirties ever since I got these powers?"

She hummed to herself as Clamer went on to answer for her by stating.

"You do look a lot younger now that you mention it. It's like your body toned itself. You're in shape and you look good."

"Thanks doc." I replied as Zeta then asked.

"So how is he younger than you then? Hasn't he been around for like ever? Being a god and all that?"

Nodding and sitting back up I replied.

"I'll tell you what he told me. When you get to be where we are at now, aging isn't a concern. He claims he's been a god for well over a hundred years now and he hasn't changed one bit in appearance."

"So you just live forever then Raptor is that right?" Clamer asked to be sure as I shrugged and replied.

"I guess. He says so long as I remain a demi I won't change in age ether. I'm stuck this way."

Clamer took a moment to take that all in as Zeta questioned.

"So I'm stuck with you being this good looking for the rest of my life? Sounds like a good deal if you ask me. I'll start to get mad once I start aging and you still look like a true born soldier."

"How old are you Zeta?"

"I'm twenty five." She replied as Clamer then asked.

"How did you meet Raptor here? You can't be from around these parts. Judging by your accent and surely Raptor doesn't chase girls your age by choice."

I rolled my eyes taking that a tad bit to the heart as she laughed and replied.

"Hehe believe it or not he came to me. He needed help tracking down Gorgon and I was the only one who wasn't part of the rebellion that could help him. He wanted to avoid anyone he knew getting in his way and I was in a bind at the time so it worked out pretty well for both of us in the end."

"What do you do? You seem really well kept for being here now. And don't pay me no mind Zeta but I can tell by how you carry yourself you look like the type of woman who knows a thing or two. Where are you from?"

"Russia if that wasn't already made clear by my voice. Haha."

"Well clearly, but how did you end up over here? In a place like this and with a man like him."

Again I huffed and puffed to the statement as she replied perfectly.

"Well when I was eighteen I joined the military back in Russia. I worked with the Spetsnaz and soon I was transferred to special operations for a joint Russian and G.U.N operation. I excelled in chemistry, biology and I have my masters in both fields. I'm also proficient in physics, math, and I'm bilingual in clearly Russian and the English language. I also have a masters in nuclear engineering and a bachelors in advance computer science."

Clamer was at first shocked by the resume as I tried to get a grasp over just how smart she really was this whole time.

"I'm a very quick learner and G.U.N noticed that first hand so I was assigned to build all types of things for them and the Russian government at the time."

"What kind of things have you built?" Clamer then asked while leaning forward in his chair to listen as Zeta gave it some thought. Running her hand up to move her hair out of the way of her left eye she replied.

"I've worked on synthetic armor systems, weapons enchantments for the next line in armed warfare, and a few advanced AI components G.U.N was just getting started on at the time. I've built a few bioreactors and more recently I've worked on nuclear weapons and I've even managed to build and deploy G.U.N's first gas warhead. Oh I've also worked on advanced personal shield generators and motion tracking systems. The shield tech was probably the most interesting for me considering how close we got to making a functional model. Wish I still had the chance to go back and work on that."

I had my mouth agape as Clamer questioned in shear shock.

"That information has to be classified. Right?"

Shrugging her shoulders she replied.

"Not like I told you where it was or how to build it. I just said I worked on it. No harm in it."

"You've made bombs though? Like the one used in China?" Clamer then asked as she nodded and replied.

"The exact one your thinking about, yes. I had a hand in it and it worked, but it's also the reason I was in a bind when I first met Raptor. covered our tracks once we were made and I had to go underground ever since. But I had no military looking after me ever since then so PMC's like Ying were hunting for me. A price was on my head and he helped me get out of it. In return I helped him track down Gorgon who was in Pakistan at the time. I'm also a really good tracker. Sorry I know that's a lot of information to take in doc."

Clamer shook his head and assured her shortly after.

"It's completely fine Zeta. I just never would have guessed you were…...well in lack of better terms a genius."

Zeta blushed slightly and replied

"I don't consider myself one sir, but thank you."

"Have you two been together ever since?"

I nodded as she replied to him.

"I promised to watch his back. He went above and beyond anything I could expect. He cleared my name and in return I promised him I'd keep him safe through whatever trouble he had left to deal with over here."

"So you're still a soldier then Zeta?"

She nodded and stated.

"Yes sir. I'm still a soldier and he's earned my trust and up till recently he's earned my support. I still question myself sometimes but I love him now and I don't plan on leaving his side anytime soon."

Clamer smiled when he heard those words. Then his eyes looked back to me to ask.

"I see why she's your reason now Raptor. I'm glad you managed to recover something. How do you feel about all this?"

At first I looked to Zeta who just sat back and waited for an answer. I took a moment to find the words. Once I did I let out a sigh and replied.

"I love her too. She's been by my side through most of this mess and despite what she says, I don't question if I love her or not. She means more to me than just an average relationship. I plan to do right by her and she's done more than she knows to keep me above ground throughout all this. I know she has times where she wants to strangle me senseless, but I know she cares by doing so. There isn't a question about my feelings towards her. I just love her and I want her to be happy. My life is difficult but I'll do everything in my power to make sure she knows everyday just how much I care. I made the mistake in the past of not doing enough for Alicia, so now that I have the chance once again I plan not to fuck up."

Zeta was more than content with that answer and reached back up to scratch my neck and head. Then she leaned in to hug me as Clamer smiled and said with a happy tone.

"You two have no doubt one of the most confusing relationships I've ever had the chance to get to know. But somehow it works and I'm happy it does. You Raptor have also taken big steps towards peace. Not just with yourself. In just a day you've done more good for this country then Archer has in the last three weeks. This city is changing and it's going to be wonderful once it's all done. You should take time and focus on yourself and the people you have around you now. Clearly Zeta is one of those people."

I just kept smiling as Zeta replied

"Your right doc. He does need to focus on himself. He's got the time and he's got the chance to make the right choices for the country. Everything is going to work out and you can't doubt that Raptor. You're not the only person who wants change for the better and I don't have to live here to see that when people look at you or talk about you. You're a great man and we'll fix this mess together. Keeping your emotions bottled up isn't going to help. So maybe we should do this again sometime."

Clamer nodded and added.

"We can indeed Zeta. I like talking to you and I'd like to know more. But as always Raptor we should keep this short. What do you plan to do with the rest of the night?"

Zeta gently lowered her arm to my back as I replied.

"To be honest with you doc…..I think I just want to go get a drink. Hehehe."

Clamer began to laugh as Zeta muttered shortly after my laugh.

"I'm down with that actually."

"Ron's is packed right now Raptor. In fact most of the bars and restaurants are. Lots of celebrations happening and I wouldn't expect an open seat anytime soon."

Standing up from the couch I replied while taking back my Glock from the counter.

"I think Ron can make a spot for me. Maybe not her, but I can always keep her in the car."

Zeta smacked my back towards my joke and as Clamer got up alongside me he offered me his hand. I ignored it and just gave him a small hug. He was caught off guard at first by it but soon accepted it and hugged back. Then Zeta came in to do the same. Molly was last and all she did was bark at his leg till he decided to kneel down and give her the attention she deemed worthy of a proper farewell. As he laughed his way around my energetic pup I asked him.

"When do you want to do this again doc?"

"Anytime Raptor. You know my door is always open for you. And you too Zeta."

"Thank you." She replied as I smiled and got the door opened. With Zeta and Molly running out first, I looked back at Clamer to urge him.

"I'm sorry I'm this much trouble for you doc."

Chuckling once more Clamer replied while picking back up his tea.

"You're more than trouble Raptor, but someone has to do it. Don't worry about it and just keep yourself happy and things in focus. I'll always be here for you. No matter who you decide to bring with you. But hey?"

I looked back to his eyes as he grinned and whispered.

"That one you have there is quite the package deal. If anything, that should be more than enough to keep you happy through this time and age."

Now I actually laughed and regardless of what I wanted to say back I knew he was right and just shut the door behind me. By the time I was back to the car Zeta had Molly in and tucked between her legs. Once I got in the driver's seat did she ask.

"We're going out for a drink then? It's about time you decided to take me out on a proper date for once."

I smiled and got us back on the road. During which I replied.

"Yeah we're going to Ron's. I'll try not to cause any trouble."

"Mhmmm." She mumbled as I had to ask her.

"How do you feel about Clamer?"

"He's a real nice man. I like him. I'd just be worried about all the information he has about us now. Have you told him about what happened to the power plant?"

I shook my head and replied.

"I'm not telling anyone about that. Leave it behind now Zeta. Please."

She nodded to herself as I gave her other concerns some consideration.

Clamer knew more than most people about me. He was second behind Hecan himself and I knew she was right. Clamer could get us into trouble if he wanted too, but I trusted him to remain a neutral party. So far he's been nothing but honest and there for me. I plan to keep it that way, and hopefully he did too.
