Chapter2:
He was running as fast as his legs would carry him. He knew he had to find a place to stay. He ran into a deep dense forest. After running a few miles, he looked up at the sky, kneeling down and shouting to whoever was listening about the spell crying and asking if he was cursed. He got up and continued running but his sleep got the better of him and he collapsed onto the forest floor.
When he woke up, he found himself surrounded by five people, ministry officials by the looks of their formal work attire.
They stared at him as he open his eyes and regained his ability to see clearly. He glanced at a man who looked awfully familiar. He slowly got up and realised the familiar man was his father, whom, of course, he had obliviated.
Two men, his father and another official, helped him to his feet. 'Christopher Hendrix' he read the other official's badge.
His father asked another man ' Harris McCoy' , as his badge read. Mr.McCoy replied saying," Well, isn't it obvious, We take him to questioning. But first we ask him who he is." He glanced over to Gilderoy and said," Well, child, what is your name?"
Gilderoy thought fast and said,"I CANT REMEMBER!"There's no need to yell, child, we can see why you might have panicked, but please, don't yell."
Silence fell.
But his father broke the silence by asking him if he remembered anything about himself at all. Gilderoy quietly replied," No." after a moment of thought.
Another man ' Richard Driscoll' suggests they take him to St.Mungo's till he recovered as kids who have been obliviated can be cured if taken to a hospital in time.
At this point Gilderoy had no choice but to make up a name. He collapsed again, this time from fear.
This time, it didn't take ling for him to get up.
He got up and, quietly, changed his father's memory. His father was no longer ' Barmillious Lockhart, he was 'Charles Brisket' and this affected everyone, the ministry, his mother and everyone else whom he knew.
