Chapter Nine
Lawyer Robert Douglas arriving back from the cruise with his associates from his firm. Louise Fletcher had mention that he needed to speak with Captain Kate Beckett about the murder of Rebecca Chase his girlfriend. He was exhausted from the flight having been traveling non stop from the cruise to the helicopter.
He caught a cab from the airport having landed. His aids from the firm had met him to go along for the ride to the 12th precinct. He was awfully quiet in the cab with his aids giving him the report from the autopsy on Rebecca released.
"Anything else Jenkins on who is actually behind the murders?" He had to asked the key question of the police investigation.
"From what I was told with the press releases is the fact that two brothers both ex marines are both behind it. And nobody knows where they are currently hiding. Even the F.B.I. are on the joint investigation with the 12th precinct.. And I believe you know the agent Seth Hutchinson and his wife Suzanne."
"Yeah I do for when I was involved with them years ago for another case in the courts. It's going to be nice to see Seth again. Even though under better circumstances. " He spoke to the cab driver an indian on how much longer to the 12th precinct.
"At this rate with the traffic another ten minutes sir." He will say to an annoyed Robert Douglas. He was more pissed off to find out that his fiance was pregnant to make matters worse and the fact she never bothered to tell him before leaving for the cruise.
Captain Kate Beckett had been told that Rebecca Chases boyfriend lawyer Robert Douglas was coming in to talk with her about the case. She was currently in the breakroom with her detectives out into the field checking with their street sources. She was sitting having her sandwich ordered by the deli once again along with her coffee. She had a slight headache with the case on going with the F.B.I., while her husband Richard Castle had to go home to get ready for a interview with an interviewer on channel 11 New York at eight o' clock to be shown at 11 p.m.
The elevator door had opened up with Robert Douglas and his aids were looking for Captain Kate Beckett. One of the detectives in the bullpen had mention to him that Captain Beckett was in the breakroom. He found her as he walked inside. "Captain Beckett I am Robert Douglas a lawyer from the Wall Street district. I was Rebecca Chase finance. Louise Fletcher mention about you about coming here for some of the answers."
"Please sit. Would you like some coffee at all?" She will asked with getting up from her chair to get him a cup of coffee.
"That will be great Captain. I didn't get the chance to have anything on the way over here." He said with watching the woman over to the coffee machines.
"One thing I will like to say that I am very sorry about your girlfriend Rebecca." She had said felling sorry for the lawyer and the prospects that she was pregnant.
"Thanks. Do you have any idea as to who might be behind the murders of Rebecca and the other two I heard about?" He took the cup of black coffee from her hand to take a small sip.
"From what we understand Mr. Douglas is the fact two brothers name Jake and Joey are behind the murders and they keep moving around. However they are both ex marines and now jewel thieves with robbing from certain stores to sell the products to the vendors on the black market." She will have replied with her Intel. "If you have any further information Mr. Douglas to call us here or at my number on the card." She handed to him from her pants pocket.
"I certainly will do that Captain Beckett. And if I can help I have resources plus friends I know in the military that can find anyone." He stated with his offer.
"I will appreciate this Mr. Douglas on whether your people can find them." She said with finishing up the last of her coffee.
He drinks more of his coffee watching her leave the breakroom to speak with his aids downstairs to call Darrell a military bounty hunter. "Make sure you tell him that he's going to be paid well and to meet me at my condo in Manhattan at ten o'clock p.m. or else he won't get the job."
"Yes sir." Angie his aide for the last five years and with military training said to him over the phone downstairs.
Meanwhile Captain Beckett went into her office to call her husband at home getting ready for the interview on his new book Cat's eye.
He picked up his phone in the bedroom finishing up dressing. "Kate what's up besides me?" He joked with her over the phone.
"Anytime Rick. However I have more important things I need to asked. Do you happened to know a lawyer named Robert Douglas of Wall Street? The reason I am asking is the fact that I understand he's going to help us on the case involving with the F.B.I. right now."
"I will call Alexis and Hayley at the office and have them do a background check on the check and if he has any military background."
"Please have them call me on whether they were able to come up anything. By the way good luck with the interview with your book. I can bet Black Pawn Publishing is going to do well with the publicity?" She said over the phone.
"Thanks. I know Gina will be watching later when they show the segment on the news. Love you Kate and I will be sure to take advantage of my promise with being up."
She chuckled in her office. "Later Rick." She replied with hanging up the phone and with looking at the time.
