Dawnsoul woke up to the angelic music of birds chirping and the smell of honeydew. Her eyes fluttered open. She felt warmth on both her sides from her two best friends, lyrebird and Clementine.

Though they have been proved to be unrelated they were the closest family Dawnsoul had. She remembered when she met them in the hatchery and they decided it would be absolutely terrific if they were sisters, and by breaking the rules shot venom to find out, and accidently (Or so lyrebird told everyone) burned sheersky's wing, a nightwing that was lurking the village. Fortunately her very loud screams had one of the older dragons come and quickly realising who had shot the venom and called the names of some of lyre's relatives. After that they became the perfect team, Lyre would be the one causing most of the trouble, or just dragging her other friends into it.

Dawnsoul or Dawn for short woke up earlier than others supporting her name. Exiting the little hut onto a well constructed wooden platform she stretched her nightwing star shimmering wings.

Her parents of whom she did not even know the names a rainwing and a nightwing were both exiled on the same day, and blinded by the sorrow fell in love. After they had an egg, they left it at the border a day before its hatching, without even looking back. Dawnsoul was brought to the hatchery on time by one of the guards for the dragonette to be hatched in safety. But she always had a growing pain in her heart. Her parents would leave her without looking back like the soldiers said. Funny how without even seeing them she already had a lifelong pain caused by their decision.

Today would be her hatching day, also three days before leaving to go to Jade Mountain Academy since now she was of appropriate age. Since she was hatched so late and barely, Dawn had her birthday all to herself unlike any others of her age group. Purposely changing each one of her scales black she headed down to the main courtyard. There she smelled some fresh meat being cooked and realized how very happy she was in the rainforest.

That day passed by quickly and quietly. Lyrebird and Clementine both had ginormous presents for the birthday girl, but because she was infamous caused by her misfortunate bloodline no one else did. The day after was busy and seemed to never end. It was mostly packing and doing hard work. Then came flight.

That morning lyrebird Clementine and Dawn headed out first thing after hearing a lecture from their instructor Pai. There were many many. All dragonettes both nightwing and rainwing stood on the front platform in clutters. Then glory came and shouted at them to get in line. In the panic of dragonets trying to get in line i lost my friends. Then one by one dragonettes started taking off starting from the left at the shout from glory.

Dawn was misfortunately standing a few individuals away from her friends and therefore had to take off surrounded by many dragons she didn't really wanna know. The young male beside her flew off confidently. He was a nightwing, a handsome one. As she lifted off to start flying beside him she recognized a scar on his shoulder. It was Dreamkeeper. She had been acquainted with him during training. He seemed to recognize her right away.

"Dawn!" He smiled.

"DawnSoul." She corrected him and kept a straight face.

"Hey aren't we friends?"

"No." her answer was cold and broke his smile.

"Look I've been wondering, why did you leave the nightwing? I thought you liked it with us." Pig. She thought and turned away to clench her teeth without him seeing to not let Dreamkeeper have the satisfaction.

"Oh dawn why you got to be like that. Okay look I'm sorry I was stupid back then" He smirked.

"For you it's Dawnsoul." she said even harsher suddenly regretting her thought about his attractiveness. She saw her friends wave to her, and was beginning to change course until she heard

"It would be interesting to see Glory's reaction after she finds out about you." That's it the last string. She turned to him menacingly.

"You're the worst thing that's ever happened to me, and if i ever see your face again i don't know if I'll be able to stop myself."

"Woah I'm kidding, I'm over that i promise." Came out of his mouth, he definitely regretted saying that. Her glare softened.

Maybe it really was time to move on, the incident happened very long ago. But she still hated him with each scale on her body. Now realizing he was getting what he wanted she quickly darted away as fast as she could to her friends.

She had hurt him, Dreamkeeper had changed despite his arrogant and attention seeking character, he apologized at least a thousand times. There was even a time when he would buy her gifts. He really tried. But she didn't wanna care. Hating him was much easier, but at this moment she thought of looking back. The temptation lured her. She didn't want to see his broken shattered face, she saw it too many times. He manipulated her and almost ruined her life, didn't he deserve every inch of her hate? Dawn didn't know, would she really do the same exact thing her parents did? Dream was the only person she had ever been mad at so she hadn't have had enough experience to know.

But keeping her gaze forward she cut off a few dragons and finally came to see her friends worried faces.

"Sorry." Said Clementine and affectionately touched my shoulder.

"YOU KNOW THAT IF HE EVER SPEAKS TO YOU OR EVEN LOOKS AT YOU AGAIN IMA KICK HIS BUTT FOR THE SECOND TIME BUT HARDER!" Said lyre.

"Look its okay I already beat him up enough myself, he's just a stupid youngling who made a stupid mistake." I said softly, without any anger left in me after I screamed at him.

"Yes your right, he's just immature and stupid." Said Clementine.

"Let's not waste our time talking about that lizard." Said lyre. "Then we won't have enough time to talk about how awesome school will be! And how many more people to beat up!" Classic lyre. Dawnsoul noticed Clementine fiddling.

"Hey what's wrong?" Clementine looked up weakly.

"What?" asked lyre.

"I'm just a bit scared that there will be big and scary dragons there." She said.

"Lyre looked confused on purpose.

"Who would bully you while I'm around? Someone incredibly stupid. Don't forget we both have venom." Clementine suddenly brightened up. These two really were the perfect duo of sweetness and harshness.

She heard a shout to her right and looked to see a fight break at the end of the now not so straight and more scattered line. Then before turning her head back to face clementine Dawn saw Dreams hurt face. His eyes were so hurt.

When they were friends for the short period of time that she stayed with the nightwing he really was a good friend and they were close, but then when she told him she wanted to go back to the rainforest he panicked and was about to use something she told him against her to stop her from going after manipulating in other ways didn't work.

Quickly she turned away and continued flying and keeping her eyes on the mountain range ahead. It didn't matter how much she missed him, the right thing to do would be to be mad. Now she just hoped he didn't see the smidge of empathy on her face.
