Today was the day Lucious and Cookie would become husband's wife. Candace Carol Rochelle Shanice and Jackie helped Cookie get ready while Bunkie Thirsty and Candace Carol Rochelle Shanice and Jackie's boyfriend's were helping Lucious.
They drove downtown to the courthouse Lucious and Cookie had their marriage license signed a while ago they just needed the judge to sign off witnesses.
The judge smiled at them easing their nerves.
"Lucious do you take Loretha to be your lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold for richer or poorer as long as you both shall live? "The Judge asked.
"I do," Lucious replied.
"Do you Loretha take Lucious to be your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold for richer or poorer as long as you both shall live." The Judge asked.
"I do." Cookie replied.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife you may now kiss your bride." The judge said.
Lucious kissed Cookie to the backdrop of cheers and shouts.
They drove back home surprised to find the house decorated and a cake waiting for them. "This is great I can't believe you all did this." Cookie said.
"We wanted to surprise you both by giving you a reception/baby shower all gender-neutral things since you guys don't know," Bunkie replied.
"This is sweet of you we are really lucky to have you guys as friends and family." Cookie said.
"It's no problem Cookie we know your gonna need all the help you can get," Candace replied.
"That's true we don't have a clue what we are doing we are just doing the best we can," Lucious said.
"It's a learning experience that's for sure and we have so much to learn." Cookie replied.
They all ate cake opened gifts and had a good time.
After hours of celebrations, the others left leaving Lucious and Cookie by themselves.
Lucious carried Cookie up to their bedroom where they made love for the first time as husband and wife.
Once they had finished they laid in each other's arms Lucious kissed Cookies' face holding her close to his side.
"What are you thinking about?" Cookie asked.
"How great my life is and how happy we are married," Lucious replied.
"Things are gonna be different now we are married which makes us partners more so than before I want us to always be a team because that's what marriage is our parents showed us that." Cookie said.
"And your right that's what I want it's us against the world," Lucious replied.
After a long talk, they fell asleep getting up the next morning like usual.
The breakfast was on the table Cookie was eating while reading the instructions to putting some of the baby things together.
They chose a cream color paint for the baby's room as a base color where they would add to it when they know what the sex of the baby is.
After Cookie cleaned the dishes she was on the living room floor with boxes around her reading the instructions.
"Alright baby I'm going I'll be back later page me if you need me?" Lucious said.
"I will baby." Cookie replied kissing him goodbye. "Cookie replied.
Cookie had a very productive day of putting things together.
It was great she had her walkman on listening to music which made the time go faster.
Stopping for lunch she ate in silence once done she cleaned up her mess and went about collecting the boxes busting them down and putting them outside in the trash cans.
Once that was done she took the finished things and put them in their proper places.
"Cookie opens the door," Candace said.
"Hold on Candace." Cookie replied.
Cookie opens the door seeing her sisters on the other side.
"You've been busy," Carol said.
"Yes, we've still got to get the baby's room together." Cookie replied.
"Well your month's away from having the baby so you'll have time," Candace said.
"That's true I'm not going to rush things there is still a lot to do." Cookie replied.
"For now just enjoy being a wife and mom have you thought of names yet," Carol asked.
"Not we are waiting till we know what the sex is but we have been reading all the books Bunkie and Thirsty gave us." Cookie said.
"That's good to don't need to stress you know how much stress hurt Daddy," Candace replied.
"The truth is stress isn't good for anyone and to be honest I stressed a lot before I got pregnant and before Lucious and I got married. I was stressed out because of the restrictions daddy and Berry put on me. But the journal and keep focused on Lucious's dream to build an empire has helped me not stress." Cookie said.
"We brought you some more of your things from the house," Carol replied.
"Thanks, I don't know what to say." Cookie said.
"You don't have to say anything you should have some things from the house," Candace replied.
Meanwhile Lucious Bunkie and Thirsty were hard at work making their drops.
"So Lucious this is the first whole day you are a married man how does it feel?" Thirsty asked.
"I couldn't be happier I told you both I would make her mine and I meant it she's my world and she's giving me the greatest gift the chance to be a father," Lucious said.
"She's had you whipped from day one," Bunkie replied jokingly.
"Oh, really you two would know Rochelle and Shanice will most likely be next," Lucious said.
"You forgot me and Jackie as well Lucious," Vernon replied.
"An oversight on my part," Lucious said.
"Don't let it happen again." Vernon playfully scolded.
"Anyway Frank is pleased with our work and we are all making tons of money," Lucious said.
"Not to mention what the DJ's pay you for your tapes and live performances you will get the money you need to build your empire in no time at all." Thirsty replied.
"Yeah, I hope so I want to have things all settled as fast as possible," Lucious said.
"You will by any means necessary," Bunkie replied.
Just like everyday Lucious and his crew met the demands set upon them making the drops and meeting with Frank later to give him his share of the earnings. And taking their earnings home with them.
By the time they finished for the day. Lucious returned home Cookie was there like always having returned a couple of hours before Lucious having gone to get groceries.
"Cookie I'm home!" Lucious shouted.
"I'm in the kitchen Lucious." Cookie replied.
Lucious wrapped his arms around Cookie kissing her cheek and neck.
"I see you got those things put together," Lucious said.
"Yes, it was pretty easy with the instructions." Cookie replied.
"Well don't do it all by yourself I want to help you," Lucious said.
"You'll get plenty of time to do that." Cookie replied.
Cookie takes him by the hand after the dishes were done showing him what she had done throughout the day.
"This is great baby," Lucious said.
"Yeah, I'm glad you like it I wanted everything to be perfect." Cookie replied.
"Its perfect baby we are getting closer to our goal and when it's all said and done we won't be worrying about nothing out baby won't be worrying about nothing," Lucious said.
"I know that's what's getting me through this I want our family to save and secure." Cookie replied.
"We are going to make that as a team," Lucious said.
Before they knew it was time for bed. Lucious and Cookie change into their pajamas and get in bed.
"You know I love you right?" Lucious asked.
"Yes, and I love you too." Cookie said.
He kissed her forehead closing their eyes they fell asleep.
The next morning Cookie had another appointment with the OBGYN.
They drove to the office in silence Lucious opened the door for Cookie and they walked in the building holding hands.
"Hello, Lucious and Loretha. How are things?" Dr. Sanders asked.
"We're fine Cookies been eating more and she stopped throwing up she takes her vitamins and I try to keep her away from anything stressful her sister's cousin and our friends help us out a lot too," Lucious replied.
"That's good today we will do another ultrasound and make sure mama and baby are doing well.
Cookie changes into a gown and the doctor prepares the ultrasound machine.
"Ah here we are the little ones heartbeat is very strong we still can't tell the sex yet but everything looks good from what I can see you are going to have a very healthy baby.
"Just keep up the good work and call me if there is any indication of something wrong." Dr. Sanders instructed.
"Will do doctor thank you so much." Cookie said.
"Your welcome guys see you on your next appointment date." Dr. Sanders replied.
"Come on Cookie let's go home," Lucious said.
Lucious helps Cookie into the car Cookie stares at the ultrasound picture.
Lucious pulls into the driveway getting out of the car he goes to let Cookie out of the car. "Come on baby let's get you inside are you hungry?" Lucious asked.
Cookie went to the refrigerator to make lunch but Lucious stopped her and made her sit down. " No baby you sit down I'll make us something to eat. " Lucious instructed.
Lucious puts two plates on the table.
"Thanks, baby this is good." Cookie said.
"Your welcome baby," Lucious replied.
After washing the dishes Cookie went to take a nap.
Lucious for his part locked up the house and decided to read.
A few hours later Cookie wakes up to find Lucious isn't in bed beside her.
Cookie walks down the stairs to find Lucious asleep with an open book sitting on his chest.
Cookie smiled as she kissed his forehead. "Hmm. Cookie how long was I asleep?" Lucious asked.
"I don't know baby but I just came down here." Cookie replied.
"Oh, I was just reading this book and got tired I only meant to nap for about ten minutes," Lucious said.
"Well, I'm going to start dinner." Cookie replied.
"Let me wash my hands and I'll help you," Lucious said.
Cookie was in the kitchen and Lucious started to work on the sides they were gonna have.
Working together it didn't take long for them to get everything done.
"Wow, baby this is really good," Lucious said.
"Thank you baby it was nothing." Cookie replied.
"It's nothing baby you are a wonderful cook," Lucious said.
"Thank you again baby that's sweet." Cookie replied.
"No thanks needed baby," Lucious said.
After washing the dishes and Cookie taking a laundry basket upstairs full of washed clothes. Once she put everything away. She and Lucious walked into the nursery.
"I was thinking we can put the crib against this wall a rocking chair and dresser/changing table over near the opposite wall a toy box and a circular carpet right by the rocking chair but in the middle of the room." Cookie replied.
"I like it. I can almost picture it's gonna be beautiful." Lucious said.
"It will be beautiful that's for sure I've been looking at baby furniture getting the idea of what I wanted." Cookie replied.
"Well, when the time comes we will get whatever you decide when we know what the baby is going to be," Lucious said.
"I agree come on let's go back to bed." Cookie replied.
"I'm right behind you baby," Lucious said.
Lucious walks behind Cookie back to their bedroom getting in bed they lay and go through books.
"Lucious when I give birth I want you in the room with me." Cookie said.
"Of course wild horses couldn't keep me out," Lucious replied.
"Also what do you think of Kayla for a girl and Andre for a boy?" Cookie asked.
"I like them they are both beautiful names," Lucious replied.
"Well, we just need middle names how about Martin for a boy and Jasmine for a girl." Cookie said.
"Perfect I like it," Lucious replied.
"Great that's easy the rest of the decisions we make from here on out should be okay." Cookie said.
"Come baby let's get some rest you especially need it for the baby," Lucious replied.
"Alright, baby I love you." Cookie said as she kissed him good night.
The next morning they were woken by hushed talking coming from the nursery.
Lucious careful walks toward the door his gun by his side he walks toward the nursery door.
"Hey what the hell is going on?" Lucious asked.
"Hey Lucious calm down it's just us," Bunkie replied.
"What are you guys doing up here?" Cookie asked.
"Candace and Carol showed us the baby stuff you were looking at so we went to get it and set it up how you want it." Thirsty replied.
"Really oh my goodness." Cookie said.
Cookie and Lucious walked into the room seeing the stuff on the floor. "Also we brought paint," Bunkie replied.
"Thanks, guys we weren't going to get the stuff yet but this is a load off," Lucious said.
"Yes, thanks guys this is great all that's left to do is paint the room and decorate it the walls." Cookie replied.
"We will help you guys with that paint fumes aren't good for Cookie while pregnant," Vernon said.
"Thanks, we appreciate it," Lucious replied.
"Yes, we do we are just figuring things out." Cookie said.
"That's normal y'all are just married and got a baby on the way you are learning to juggle everything." Thirsty replied.
"That's true how about we put the boxes in the closet so we have room to paint with nothing in our way," Bunkie said.
"I'll help." Cookie replied.
"No, we got this just go ahead and go downstairs you can cook breakfast," Lucious said.
Cookie walked downstairs heading toward the kitchen but stopped when she hears the door opening.
"Hey Cookie we brought you a breast pump bottles bibs diapers and some gender neutral baby clothes to help you out," Candace said.
"Oh wow, that's great Candace." Cookie replied.
"Are the guys upstairs," Carol asked?
"Yeah they are working on the nursery I was just getting ready to make breakfast." Cookie said.
"Come on we will help you cook," Candace replied.
They walked into the kitchen working as a team they finished breakfast setting the table they wait for the guys to break.
And continue to talk amongst themselves.
"Good morning Candace and Carol." Lucious greets.
"Good morning Lucious." Candace and Carol replied.
The group sat at the table eating breakfast.
Once it was done they cleaned the dishes and put them away.
"Candace Carol you gotta check out the nursery we got it painted," Bunkie said.
"Let's go see it," Carol replied.
The group went back upstairs Candace and Carol looked around the room.
"Oh my god, it's gonna be beautiful when it's finished," Candace said.
"Yeah, we want everything to be perfect for when we bring our cub home," Lucious replied.
"Very cute Lucious," Carol said.
"Thank you, Carol." Cookie replied.
Candace and Carol helped Cookie with the clothes and other small things for the nursery.
While the guys worked until their beepers went off and they left Cookie and her sisters continued to help with the small tasks.
"So have you thought of any names?" Candace asked.
"Yes, Kayla for a girl Andre for a boy." Cookie replied.
"Oh, those names are cute," Carol said.
"Yeah Lucious and I liked those names out of the list we wrote." Cookie replied.
"Well, they are both really beautiful names," Candace said.
Hours pass and the sisters had completed their portion of the baby tasks now they were making dinner and the guys returned.
"Come on sit down and eat." Cookie instructs.
"Thanks, baby we are hungry," Lucious replied.
"I'll bet we got the small baby things put away." Cookie said.
"That's great baby we'll put the big furniture pieces together," Lucious replied.
"Thanks, baby it looks like we'll have the room done long before the baby is due." Cookie said.
"Yeah well, at least it will give us something less to stress about," Lucious replied.
"That's true less stress is always good," Thirsty said.
"He's got a point," Carol replied.
"Thank you, Carol," Thirsty said.
"It's no problem Thirsty," Carol replied.
With everything done for the night the guys and Candace and Carol left Lucious and Cookie alone.
"Baby I can't believe how quickly everything is coming together." Cookie said.
"Yeah, baby I know but we got good people in our corner," Lucious replied.
"Don't forget we have each other and our baby." Cookie said.
"Oh, baby I won't forget that," Lucious replied.
"Let's go to bed." Cookie said.
"Alright let's get my babies to bed," Lucious replied.
"Alright baby let's go." Cookie said.
They change into their nightclothes and get in the bed Lucious Kissed Cookie and then kissed her belly.
They fell asleep dreaming sweet dreams about their future their empire that would be run by future generations of their family.
The next morning Lucious had to make a drop so Bunkie Vernon and Thirsty finished the second coat of paint on all the walls cleaning up the room when they were done they began to get boxes out of the closet and started to put the furniture together.
They set the completed pieces in the center of the floor making sure nothing touched the wet paint they were going to get patterns for the wall as decoration once the wall was dry then put the furniture in the proper places once it was done.
"Cookie Lucious wants to surprise you when we get the room done," Vernon said.
"Oh okay, I still have clothes blankets toys, and other small baby things to deal with." Cookie replied.
"Okay tell us if you need anything else," Bunkie said.
"We will Bunkie thank you for everything," Lucious replied.
