As the days go on Cookies glow has become more obvious.
"Alright Lucious Cookie you can see the room now." Bunkie shouted.
"Alright." Lucious replied.
"Alright Cookie don't open your eyes until I tell you." Thirsty said.
"Okay but hurry up I can't wait anymore." Cookie replied.
"Oh the count of three 1.2.3. "Okay Cookie open your eyes." Lucious said.
"Oh my god baby it's beautiful." Cookie cried.
"Hey baby, don't cry." Lucious said as he wiped her tears from her eyes.
"I'm just so happy that our babies room is done." Cookie replied.
"Cookie don't get yourself worked up." Candace said.
Suddenly multiple beeps from the guys pagers went off.
"Damn baby we got to go." Lucious replied.
"Okay be careful baby." Cookie said.
"I will don't worry you know where the extra gun is if anything happens." Lucious replied.
Cookie watched them leave. "Come on Cookie let's go get some movies some popcorn and have a fun sisters movie day." Candace said.
"Yeah that sounds like a good idea." Carol replied.
"Okay let's go to the video store." Cookie said.
They get into Candace's car and drove to the video store.
They go inside the video store. "What movies are we getting?" Carol asked.
They look around until they agreed on some movies leaving shortly thereafter they returned to Lucious and Cookie's house made a bowl of popcorn and proceeded to watch the movies.
"This is great we haven't done this in a long time." Cookie said.
"No we haven't we shouldn't have stopped doing this." Candace replied.
"Well better late than never." Carol said.
They spent the day enjoying the movies keeping Cookies mind off of worrying about Lucious.
They were all having a good time laughing it was just like old times.
"So how are things going with your boyfriend's?" Cookie asked.
"Great on my end he wants to make sure he can support a family before we get married we are taking things slow." Candace replied.
"Yeah and my guy is in no rush either." Carol said.
"That's good there is nothing wrong with that." Cookie replied.
"Loretha the way you said that makes me think you regret how things our now." Candace said.
"The only thing I regret is me not trying harder to make peace with dad I know I hurt him and broke his heart by following my heart but if I'd known he was going to die like he did i would have written him a letter and let him know no matter what he was thinking of me at the time I would never stop loving him and told him the truth about Berry and that if I would have done what he wanted the only people happy who would have been him and Berry. And that he judged Lucious to harshly because what Lucious is now holds no weight as to whom he will become.
"And most important of all remind him that Malcolm X was a hoodlum before he gained religion and became one of many working Cogs in the wheel of the civil rights movement." Cookie replied.
"You have a point." Candace said.
"Yeah Cookie forget a doctor you could be a lawyer." Carol replied.
"I guess I never thought about it like that." Cookie said.
The movies were great they enjoyed laughing again it had truly been a long time since they actually laughed like they had a long time ago.
Around lunch time they paused the movie and made lunch.
Sitting at the dining room table they eat their lunch cleaned their dishes and go back into the living room to continue their movies. A few hours later Lucious and the guys returned.
"Baby I'm home I've brought dinner." Lucious said.
"Baby you didn't have to I would have cooked." Cookie replied.
"Baby you've been cooking everyday I wanted you to just relax for once." Lucious said.
"Okay baby that's fine." Cookie replied.
Lucious sets the food out on the table and they grab their plates and started to fill them and setting down to eat.
Once again they cleaned up the mess and say down to continue to watch the movies.
The group left when Cookie started to get sleepy.
Lucious carried her up to bed changing her into pajamas. Changing into his own pajama's he gathers her close to him and proceeded to go to sleep.
The next morning Lucious got up early making breakfast for himself and Cookie. "Baby come eat." Lucious said.
"Okay baby." Cookie replied.
Cookie came into the dinning room seeing everything set on the table.
Pancakes eggs bacon sausage and grits. Were all laid out on the table.
"Wow Lucious this is a lot of food." Cookie said.
"Normally I might agree but in this case I'm determined to keep you and our baby healthy." Lucious replied.
"Well your doing a good job." Cookie said.
"Did you remember to take your vitamins." Lucious asked.
"Yes I took it before I came downstairs." Cookie replied.
"That's good." Lucious said.
"I want to make sure the baby is healthy too." Cookie replied.
"The baby will be fine as long as we keep doing what we are doing to make sure everything goes smoothly." Lucious said.
"We have no reason to think it won't. So let's keep thinking positively." Cookie replied.
"Your right baby." Lucious said.
"Thank you baby." Cookie replied.
"No problem baby." Lucious said.
Lucious rubbed Cookies stomach she was getting a small bump not noticeable until you touched her stomach.
They were interrupted by their door opening. "Hey Lucious I brought your beat making equipment from the spot I'm gonna put it in the basement." Bunkie greeted.
"Yeah that will work out fine Bunkie thank you." Lucious replied.
"What made you decide to move the stuff here?" Cookie asked.
"Because I don't want you being home alone all time I want to spend as much time with you as I can." Lucious replied.
"Oh baby that's really sweet of you." Cookie said.
"Yeah well I love you and I'm going to show you just how much." Lucious replied.
Lucious and Cookie walked into the basement seeing Bunkie hooking up everything.
"Okay Lucious everything is all set." Bunkie said.
"Thanks Bunkie you wanna stay for dinner." Cookie replied.
"Sure if that's ok just in case you guys need me for something else." Bunkie said.
"Sure we could always use the help." Lucious replied.
"He's right especially with me being pregnant Lucious wants to make sure I leave the hard stuff to him and you guys." Cookie said.
"Well just call me anytime and I will definitely be there to help you." Bunkie replied.
"Thanks Bunkie your the best family anyone of us could have." Lucious said.
"Thanks Lucious that means a lot." Bunkie replied.
"Don't mention it Bunkie." Lucious said.
Lucious goes to his equipment and start mixing beats Cookie was working on the baby book she had put the two ultrasound photos in it. Also writing down her waist and stomach measurements.
She wanted to have a full record of her pregnancy.
So she could share it with their child when it's older.
"That's gonna be something when it's done." Bunkie replied.
"Yes it is I want our child to know what our experience was before they were born and that we loved them the moment we knew we were pregnant." Cookie said.
Bunkie and Cookie look at Lucious watching him make the beats.
Next to his equipment he had his book of rhymes things he had been writing long before he and Cookie became a couple.
Lucious looks over at Cookie and Bunkie and smiles at and they smile back in return.
Cookie looking at Lucious got that feeling again in the pit of her stomach just like the first time when they met.
Lucious for his part felt that same feeling every time he looked at it was near Cookie she was just as important to him as his music and their child.
He continued to work on his beats while Bunkie and Cookie continued to talk.
"Wow he's killing the beats." Bunkie replied.
"I'm not surprised I knew the first time I saw Lucious he was going to do big things in life and the fact I get a ringside seat to it makes it an incredible sight to see. I wonder if the baby will have a love for music like we do." Cookie said.
"Are you kidding? music is in their blood one way or another they will be involved." Bunkie replied.
"You think so?" Cookie asked.
"I know so Cookie you guys are planning on building an empire that will be for generations in future it would be impossible that this baby or any future children wouldn't be apart of." Bunkie replied.
"That's true." Cookie said.
"Of course it is you two are the power couple of the hood now that people know y'all are married girls are kissed that you got his attention." Bunkie replied.
"I know he had a lot of girls after him the one's I've seen try to get his attention he never looked at them how he looks at me." Cookie said.
"That's because they can't hold a candle to you and they know it and Lucious knows it too. The fact is Auntie and Uncle John made three beautiful daughters who scare the thirsty girls shitless because they don't compare to the Holloway sisters." Bunkie replied.
"That's sweet Bunkie." Cookie said.
"No that's facts Candace and Carol have the same issue with their boyfriend's too though they don't talk about it but I've seen their dudes have issues with their own crew of thirsty girls." Bunkie replied.
"I had no idea that was going on." Cookie said.
"Of course not people are concerned because your pregnant this is your first baby and no one wants to see you get stressed out because that isn't good for the baby Candace and Carol know that which is why the keep you focused on things going on with you." Bunkie replied.
"I'm pregnant that doesn't make me incapable of being a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen." Cookie said.
"No one is trying to say you are incapable because we know that isn't the case they are just not trying to make their problems your problems when you should be enjoying being a wife and soon to be mom." Bunkie replied.
"I understand that Bunkie I just don't like being kept out of the loop." Cookie said.
"Cookie let me ask you this what good is it to know everything going on if your not in any position to do anything about it." Bunkie replied.
"It's not good but no one said I had to do anything about it but at the very least I can offer advice and insight." Cookie said.
"Okay I'll give you that." Bunkie replied.
Cookie just nodded in response as she kept working on her baby book.
Lucious is really getting into his music when his beeper vibrates.
"I got to make a drop real quick I'll be back in half an hour." Lucious said as he rushed over to Cookie kissing her then running up the basement steps and out the front door.
"Come on Bunkie I'm gonna go get some water so you want anything?" Cookie asked.
"No Cookie I'm good thanks." Bunkie replied.
"Okay well let me know if you change your mind." Cookie said.
"Oh I will." Bunkie replied.
Cookie takes her glass of water and sits on the living room couch.
Half an hour later Lucious returned with Kentucky fried chicken with all the fixings.
"I'm home." Lucious said.
"Welcome home baby." Cookie greeted.
"Thank you baby." Cookie replied.
"Your welcome baby." Cookie said as she kissed Lucious.
Bunkie helps set the table. There was a knock at the door Bunkie goes to get it.
"Hey Bunkie your mom told me you were here I brought some baby stuff for your cousin." Shanice said.
"Thanks babe come on in." Bunkie replied.
"Hi Cookie Hi Lucious." Shanice greets.
"Thanks for the baby stuff." Cookie said.
"Your Welcome." Shanice replied.
"Yeah Thanks Shanice." Lucious said.
"Don't mention it." Shanice replied.
"Well we are having dinner come join us." Cookie said.
"I don't want to impose." Shanice replied.
"Your family it's not an imposition." Lucious said.
"He's right Shanice I'm sure you will be Bunkies wife eventually." Cookie replied.
"Actually look." Shanice replied. As she showed Lucious and Cookie her left hand.
"Oh my god Bunkie. You've been here for hours and didn't say a word." Cookie scolded.
"Sorry Cookie it slipped my mind." Bunkie replied.
"Well congratulations." Lucious said.
"Thanks Lucious that means a lot." Bunkie replied.
The sit at the table and prepare to eat it was like a real family dinner the kind of Cookie and her sisters used to have with her parents.
The conversation was great and Cookie and Lucious were enjoying the company.
"We should do this more often." Cookie said.
"Yeah I would like that." Shanice replied.
"Yeah let's make it a family tradition." Lucious said.
"Sounds good to me we should start having traditions that we can pass down." Cookie replied.
"That's true I haven't had that since before my dad died." Lucious said.
"Well we are going to change that." Bunkie replied.
"Yeah I agree." Shanice said.
They sat in silence for a while until Cookie and Lucious cleared the table and washed the dishes.
They put the leftover food in the refrigerator and Cookie took the stuffed animals upstairs and put them in the crib. And around the room.
Cookie stands in the middle of the room taking in the room she didn't hear Lucious come in behind her until he wrapped his arms around her waist kissing her neck.
"Lucious we are not having sex in here." Cookie said.
"What gave you the idea I was trying to have sex in here?" Lucious asked.
"Your not slick Lucious Lyon you know good and well when you start kissing on my neck we end up having sex." Cookie said.
"Alright my fierce mama Lyon I'm busted I just want to love my wife." Lucious replied.
"I know baby but we can't while Bunkie and Shanice are here we don't need to give them something to tease us about."Cookie said.
"Your right we will have this conversation later." Lucious replied.
"Let's go back down stairs." Cookie said.
"Okay lead the way." Lucious replied.
Hand in hand they walk back down the stairs seeing Bunkie and Shanice sitting on the couch whispering to each other.
"Sorry it took so long I got lost in thought putting the stuffed animals in the crib around room." Cookie said.
"It's no problem you guys are still in that honeymoon phase." Bunkie replied.
"Yeah you will be there yourself very soon." Lucious said.
"Your absolutely right about that." Shanice replied.
"Yeah and maybe then we will have our own bundle of joy." Bunkie said.
"I do hope so." Shanice replied.
The hour had gotten late so Bunkie and Shanice went home.
Lucious and Cookie say goodbye to Bunkie and Shanice quickly lock the door Cookie turns and runs toward the bedroom with Lucious not on her heels.
"Lucious stop." Cookie said while giggling as He had scooped her up in his arms.
"Never not as long as there is breath in my body." Lucious replied.
"You mean it baby?" Cookie asked.
"Every word baby."Lucious replied.
Then he laid her on the center of the bed slowly taking Cookies clothes off while he kissed her similar to the first time they had sex.
it was another night of beautiful music they made Cookie was certain that if she wasn't pregnant already Lucious would have gotten her pregnant on this night.
Sweaty and sated they lay in the wrinkled sheets falling asleep in each others arms.
The decided to stay in bed there was no rush for them at the moment. Cookie got out of the bed to go the bathroom and brush her teeth putting on a night shirt getting back in bed she grabbed a book and began to read looking over at a shirtless sleeping Lucious.
"Hmmm if you keep staring at me like that I'm going to have my way with you again." Lucious replied sleepily.
"Is that a threat or a promise?" Cookie asked.
"Oh baby it's a promise." Lucious replied. As he lunged at Cookie tickling her making her laugh.
"Lucious stop your gonna make me pee on myself." Cookie said laughing.
"Okay I will stop so you won't turn our bed into a water bed." Lucious replied.
"Very funny Lucious." Cookie said.
Lucious gets up and goes to the bathroom and brushes his teeth sporting his boxer briefs going back to his side of the bed.
Lucious leans over kissing Cookie again.
"Good morning baby." Lucious said. As he kissed Cookie and her stomach.
"Good morning."Cookie replied.
Cookie returned to reading and Lucious grabbed his rhyme book and began to write on the blank page.
Cookie looked at him and noticed he was lost in his own world like he usually was when he did anything related to music.
Then she returned to her reading.
Since getting the books she had learned so much about her body about pregnancy and about the type of mother she wanted to be to her unborn child.
But she wasn't the only one learning Lucious was learning to he wanted to be a good father to his child and he knew he had to work at it just as much as Cookie and they would make mistakes but they would learn from those mistakes and grow from them.
Lucious suddenly got inspiration he was gonna be ready to perform again.
His two muses were beside him and he knew that this rhymes had to be in point to get his music career off the ground.
