Megan Fawley had dropped into their lives on a cold Saturday in February. The four of them had been sitting in a coffee shop in Diagon Alley when she came over and plopped down next to Hugo, her blonde hair swishing.
"My ex is over there, and I really don't want to talk to her. Can you guys pretend to be really engrossed in a conversation with me?" She said. The others nodded, agreeing.
"She's coming over!" Meg said, the raising her voice slightly she said "No, no no, the Cannons are so much better than the Harpies! How could you say that?"
"I wasn't saying the Harpies are better, I'm saying that they were better when they had Ginny Potter as captain." Lily quickly improvised
"Yeah, I agree. Ginny Potter was the best. Her son James isn't too bad though." Meg replied
"James Potter is an arrogant prat." Lily said simply, and Hugo cracked up
"Yeah. Half of his cousins can beat him in Quidditch, and none of them play pro." Roxanne added
"I like Krum" Said Ben "It's too bad he retired"
"NOT KRUM" Hugo said firmly "I hate that guy"
"Geez, what do you have against Krum?" Meg asked
"His father was a big Krum hater. It's funny, because until he was 14 he was his biggest fan. And Hugo's mother is actually friends with Krum" Roxanne supplied
"She's gone. Thank you guys so much!" Meg grinned "I'm Meg. I've got to get back to work"
She walked off towards the counter, leaving Roxanne staring.
"Ooh! Someone's got a crush!" Lily squealed.
"Shut up Lily" Roxanne rolled her eye. But they found themselves visiting the coffee shop where Meg worked a whole lot more.
Meg being added to their lives had happened naturally, over a couple weeks of them visiting the coffee shop. They had made it a sort of hang out, where they came after work, even though none of them really liked coffee.
"Why do you guys always come here if you don't even drink coffee?" Meg had asked them one day, after noticing that none of them ever ordered coffee.
"Rox makes us come here. She likes it." Ben supplied" Not that we don't"
"What's your last name?" Roxanne blurted. Meg raised an eyebrow. "I mean you look familiar, but I can't quite remember."
"Fawley. Megan Fawley."
"You were the one who set Mildred Nott's hair on fire!" Hugo laughed
"That seems to be what I'm known for." She sighed exasperated "I was also a star on the Slytherin Quidditch team, but no one remembers that."
"Do you want to know our names?" Lily asked
"I already know them." She shrugged. Then, seeing their surprised expressions she laughed. "Come on. You guys are well known. Lily, you graduated top of the class, Roxanne, you did that Rickroll prank, and Hugo, you were pretty talked about too. Plus you guys are Weasleys. Your family members include the minister of magic, the boy who lived, the founder of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, and several Quidditch players."
"How do you know mine?" Ben asked
"I've heard the others call you that." She said "I'm no Ravenclaw, but I'm not stupid."
And that was probably when their friendship really started. It was a couple months later when Meg moved in though.
Meg walked back from taking her phone call as Minister, Hermione integrated muggle technology into the wizarding world looking worried.
"Shit." She said grumpily
"What happened?" Ben asked
"I got evicted. My landlord keeps upping the rent, and I can't afford it."
"You can live with us." Roxanne offered. "The house is in the family, so there is no rent. We split money equally for food and stuff, and everyone has to pitch in for chores."
"Really?" Meg looked up
"Yeah. If you don't mind living with a bunch of people. We have Me, Rox, Hugo, Albus, Rose, Scorpius, Fred and Louis. Plus an open invitation for Ben" Lily said
"Not at all! When can I move in?"
"Anytime, but you might want to see the place first" Roxanne lauged "We can take you there now."
